Perbaikan genetik melalui persilangan interspesifik antara tetua terpilih anggrek Dendrobium spp diarahkan untuk meningkatkan mutu genetik dan nilai ekonomi anggrek alam dipasaran. Anggrek Dendrobium adalah salah satu genus anggrek yang banyak diminati. Upaya peningkatan mutu genetik anggrek memiliki kendala pada teknik penyilangan dan perbanyakan biji hasil hibridisasi/persilangan. Penelitian bertujuan untuk: (1) mendapatkan teknik penyilangan yang dapat menghasilkan biji dengan tingkat fertilitas tinggi dan (2) mendapatkan anggrek hibrida baru yang memiliki keunggulankeunggulan karakter. Penelitian dilakukan di Pusat Konservasi Tumbuhan Kebon Raya LIPI Bogor. Persilangan dilakukan pada 4 sampai 6 individu yang berbunga. Persilangan dilakukan dengan cara menyilangkan tetua terpilih sebagai tetua jantan atau betina Pollinia ditransfer dari anther ke stigma dengan menggunakan tusuk gigi steril, dengan metode (i) crossing , (ii) Resiprocal.Pengamatan dilakukan terhadap karakter induk yang digunakan, waktu persilangan sampai dengan panen buah, dan lama berkecambah. Dari penelitian dihasilkan 4 seri silangan secara resiprok sampai perkecambahan yaitu ♀ Dendrobium mirbelianum x ♂ Dendrobium liniale, ♀ Dendrobium liniale x ♂ Dendrobium mirbelianum, ♀ Dendrobium liniale x Dendrobium bigibbum, ♀ Dendrobium bigibbum x ♂ Dendrobium liniale. Persentase keberhasilan semua persilangan dan resiproknya adalah 100% kecuali persilangan ♀ D.lineale x ♂D. tobaense dan resiproknya tingkat keberhasilannya 0%. Waktu terbentuk buah 3-9 hari, masaknya biji bervariasi antara 81-123 hari dan lama terbentuk protokorm bervariasi 15- 36 hari.

The eruption of Merapi mountain has primary and secondary hazard and may damage to the land. In detail, the hazards are land degradation is a loss of some or many of germplasm and changes in plant biodiversity. The others hazard including loss of water catchment areas, the destruction of forests, and even the closing of the water source, as well as the loss of water channels. The burried of soil and soil formation inhibition were caused by the repeated eruptions of Merapi, beside the loss of roads access to agricultural land and loss of land ownerships boundaries by the eruption and cool lava. Materials of eruption are sand and pyroclastic materials, as well as the nature of cementation require special techniques and technology to use the land as new farmland. Land restoration efforts can be done with the land management by reforestation on government-owned land for water catchment function, agroforestry forage grass based, grazing field on land owned by the village and residents, with the use of organic materials in the eruption sandy soil ameliorant.

The study aims to determine the effect of compatibility level to the intergeneric crossing ability and the age of the flower blooming of Vanda sp and Phalaenopsis sp. Research was conducted at a screen house and Plant Breeding Laboratory of Faculty of Agriculture, Sebelas Maret University. Crossing is done by inserting pollen of male parent to the stigma of the female parent which were selected based on a predetermined number of crosses. The observations included: percentage of successful crosses, time of fruit formation, durability of hanging fruit, the percentage of fruit ready for harvest, the percentage of the fallen fruit, and the level of compatibility. The study concluded that the intergeneric cross between Vanda sp and Phalaenopsis sp can be done until the age of 3 weeks after the flowers bloom. The fruit begins to form at the age of 6-12 day after crosses (DAC) and can be harvested after reaching the age of about three months. The intergeneric cross between Vanda sp and Phalaenopsis sp is compatible, because this was capable of producing the fruit of more than 60%.

Mungbean is one of the strategic annual food crops that needed by Indonesian people because of the high protein and minerals. Production of mungbean in Indonesia always decreases. Cultural improvements are needed to increase productivity i.e by appropriate fertilization and plant density. The experiment objective was to find out the optimum dosage of organic fertilizer and plant density for the growth and yield of mungbean. The experiment was carried out using factorial completely randomized design (CRD). The first factor treatments were organic fertilizer which consisted of 0, 5, 10, 15, and 20 ton ha-1, while the second-factor treatments were planted density which consisted of 1 and 2 plants in the hole. Organic fertilizer of 5 ton ha-1 gave the best result for plant height, number of branches, flowering age, number of pods, fresh weight and dried straw, weight of 100 seeds, number and weight of seeds, small of seeds number and P nutrient uptake of the plant. The 2 plants per hole gave the best result for branches number, pods number and number of small seeds. Application of 5 ton ha-1 organic fertilizer and 1 plant per hole gave better yield. No interaction of organic fertilizer and plant density to mungbean growth and yield.

Terdapat sekitar 53 orang kurban Pemutusan Hubungan Kerja (PHK) penduduk Desa Duwet Kecamatan Wonosari, Kabupaten Klaten, 80 % diantaranya adalah perempuan. Untuk tetap berkontribusi pada pendapatan keluarga dibutuhkan keterampilan lain salah satunnya adalah berwirausaha. Untuk dapat berwirausaha diperlukan peningkatan keterampilan (life skill) dengan memanfaatkan potensi wilayah setempat yang dimiliki. Salah satu potensi wilayah Desa Duwet yang dapat dikembangkan adalah penanganan hasil pertanian yaitu ketela rambat. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan, keterampilan (life skill) dan minat para perempuan kurban Pemutusan Hubungan Kerja (PHK) di Desa Duwet, kecamatan Wonosari kabupaten Klaten dengan memanfaatkan ketela rambat menjadi Es Krim. Bentuk kegiatan berupa pendidikan dan pelatihan kepada para perempuan tersebut tentang pembuatan es krim ketela rambat dan pendampingan wirausaha. Materi pelatihan meliputi teori dan praktek pembuatan es krim ketela rambat. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman peserta mencapai 72,62 pada teori dan 98,47 pada praktek. Es krim ketela yang dibuat dalam dua kali praktek mempunyai rata-rata waktu leleh 27,95 mnt/50 gr, serta penilaian panelis terhadap warna aroma dan tekstur masing-masing adalah 4,6, 3,6 dan 4,3 dengan skala 1 tidak disukai dan 5 sangat disukai. Analisis usaha pembuatan es krim ketela rambat selama pendampingan wirausaha menunjukkan BCR 2,07, BEP tercapai jika harga jual Rp. 116.550 per resep, PBP ( Pay Back Periode) 3,453 bulan Kata kunci : es krim, ketela rambat, life skill, perempuan kurban PHK

ANN is a method in soft computing that imitate the structure of biological nervous, where multiple nodes communicate with each other through synapses that interconnect them. That method can be utilized for pattern recognition processes, such as ASCI Icharacter recognition.This paper is aimed to develop ASCII character recognition using ANN method. Multilayer neural network is adopted in ANN with back propagation algorithm. A mapping method is used for preprocessing to segment a character image to be processed by ANN.The experimental results show that among all of successful segmented characters of all the training data having the different size of font, the system successfully recognizes characters up to 81.74 %. For the training data with different sizes and fonts data, the system recognizes the characters with an accuracy close to 55.74%. Among the unsuccessful segmented characters of all training data having different sizes of font, the system recognizes characters with an accuracy 67.53%. For the different sizes and fonts data, the system recognizes the characters with an accuracy close to 46.65%.

The purpose of the research is to increase news-writing skills by applying integrated approach and images utilization.The research is a type of action research which was conducted in 3 cycles. The main activities of the research were done in 4 steps: action planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The research was conducted to classVIIIA on the second term year 2013/2014 of Negeri 1 Teras Junior High School located in Boyolali. The subjects particularly were members of class VIIIA, consisting 32 students in total with the same ratio of girls and boys. The research uses field notes, observation guidelines, and news-writing trials as a method of collecting data. Descriptive-Qualitative method is used to analyse the development of writing skills. Both the process and the final results are analysed for this research. There are three conducted cycles. The result of the research showed that integrated approach and imagesutilization successfully increase the news-writing skills of the students both quantitatively and qualitatively. Initially, merely 7 of 32 students or approximately 21.88% of the students pass the average level while the classical learning mastering is 70.83%. After the first cycle has been done, the number of students who pass the average level increased significantly to 26 out of 32 or 81.25% while classical learning mastery increases to 77.89%. As a result, the succeed criteria of the research has not been achieved yet. The mean score of the students on first cycle is 77.89. Classical learning mastery is 85.07% therefore the succeed criteria has been passed this time. The mean score of the students on the second cycle is 85.07 which increases significantly compared to that on the first cycle.

Abstract : Based on the researcherâ€™s, the ability of the studentâ€™s high jump was not optimal. Researcher found the quality of learning outcomes of sport education still low. The success of students achieving good results of high jump is explosive power leg muscles. The purpose of this research is to the correlation of explosive power leg muscles with high jump result straddle style of male students in SDN 014 Beringin Makmur Kerumutan District Of Pelalawan. Population in this research were all male students in SDN 014 Beringin Makmur amount 11 people. Based on population that is not so large and within the limits the researchers set the whole population is used as a sample. The research sample as many as 11 people. Research instrument is measurement of explosive power leg muscles used vertical jump test and high jump stradlle style test. Data were analyzed by product moment correlation. Based on research results, it can be concluded as follows : Shows that there is corelations explosive power leg muscles with the result of high jump with stradlle style.Key word : explosive power leg muscles, high jump.
