Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the School Field Introduction Program II (PLP II) in developing the professional competence of students in Indonesian Language Education, English Language Education, and Economic Education as prospective teachers. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The subjects consisted of PLP II students from the three study programs. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman. The results indicate that PLP II significantly contributes to the improvement of students’ professional competence, including lesson planning, teaching implementation, and evaluation skills. Language education students demonstrated improvement in communication, literacy, and the use of communicative approaches, while economic education students showed enhanced ability in contextual analysis and simplifying economic concepts. However, several challenges were identified, including limited practice time, variations in mentoring quality, and differing levels of student readiness. In conclusion, PLP II is an effective program in developing the professional competence of prospective teachers through direct field experience, although further optimization is still needed.

Abstract

This study examines the protection of the rights of children of murder suspects within the Indonesian criminal justice system, an issue that creates a dilemma between the interests of law enforcement and the fulfillment of the rights of children as indirect victims. This study aims to analyze child protection mechanisms within the criminal justice process, evaluate the effectiveness of child protection institutions, and examine the perspective of maqasid al-syariah as a comprehensive framework for solutions. The study employs a qualitative approach using a normative-legal methodology, encompassing case studies, analysis of legal documents, and in-depth interviews with legal practitioners, social workers, and relevant stakeholders. The research findings indicate that Indonesia’s criminal justice system remains suboptimal in protecting children whose parents are suspects in murder cases, as evidenced by weak inter-institutional coordination, limited resources for child support services, and the inadequate application of the best interests of the child principle. From the perspective of maqasid al-syariah, the protection of children is an integral part of hifz al-nafs (protection of life) and hifz al-nasl (protection of lineage), which must be prioritized in legal policy. This study recommends revising regulations to strengthen child protection mechanisms, enhancing the capacity of relevant institutions, developing an integrated support model, and incorporating the values of maqasid al-syariah into child protection policies to establish a fair and child-centered justice system.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low level of Arabic vocabulary mastery among second-grade students at SDIT-TQ AL-FURQON BINTARA. This is due to monotonous teaching methods that are not suited to the developmental characteristics of lower-grade students. The purpose of this study is to describe the process of applying the puzzle game method in Arabic vocabulary instruction and to analyze its impact on students’ vocabulary mastery. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach, collecting data through observation, interviews, and a literature review. The research subjects are second-grade students at SDIT-TQ AL-FURQON BINTARA and the Arabic language teacher. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of the puzzle game method was carried out through three systematic stages: the preparation stage, the implementation stage, and the learning evaluation stage. In the preparation stage, the teacher prepared puzzle teaching materials such as picture cards, word cards, and Hijaiyah letter pieces tailored to the students’ ability levels. The selected words were limited to simple terms commonly encountered in the students’ daily lives. In the implementation stage, before starting the group game, the teacher first asks students to practice pronunciation or introduces vocabulary through picture cards. It has been proven that the use of this technique enhances students’ motivation, engagement, and ability to recognize, understand, and remember Arabic vocabulary. Therefore, the puzzle game method can be selected as an effective and enjoyable teaching method for teaching Arabic to lower-grade students.

Abstract

Tests, measurement, assessment, and evaluation are essential components of the learning process that are interconnected in determining students’ learning outcomes. These four concepts have distinct roles but complement each other in providing a comprehensive overview of students’ achievement, particularly at the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) and Elementary School (SD) levels. This study aims to examine the concepts and implementation of tests, measurement, assessment, and evaluation in MI/SD learning through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. The research method involves collecting and analyzing relevant scholarly articles obtained from databases such as Google Scholar and accredited national journals, with a publication range from 2015 to 2025. The findings indicate that tests are used as tools to obtain learning outcome data, measurement functions to assign quantitative values to the results, assessment is used to interpret the measurement outcomes, while evaluation plays a role in decision-making regarding the learning process and outcomes. In general, the implementation of these components in MI/SD has been carried out; however, several challenges remain, including the dominance of written tests, limited teacher understanding of diverse assessment techniques, and the suboptimal use of evaluation instruments. Therefore, improving teachers’ competencies in understanding and applying tests, measurement, assessment, and evaluation in an integrated manner is necessary to enhance the quality of learning.

Abstract

Sex education in early childhood is an important preventive effort to equip children with knowledge about their bodies, personal boundaries, and self-protection from the risks of sexual violence and abuse. Parents play a central role in providing sex education because the family is the first environment in which children develop their knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors. This study aimed to describe parenting styles in providing sex education to children aged 5–6 years and to examine the influence of parenting styles on the implementation of early childhood sex education. This study employed a qualitative descriptive approach. The participants consisted of six parents who had children aged 5–6 years. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings revealed that parenting styles significantly influenced the way parents delivered sex education to their children. Authoritarian parenting emphasized obedience to rules without adequate explanations, resulting in limited communication about sex education. Permissive parenting allowed children greater freedom; however, supervision in helping children understand personal body boundaries was still inadequate. In contrast, democratic parenting fostered open communication, provided age-appropriate explanations, and encouraged children to recognize their private body parts, distinguish between safe and unsafe touch, and report situations that made them feel uncomfortable. Therefore, democratic parenting was found to be the most effective approach for supporting early childhood sex education, as it integrates communication, affection, supervision, and character development to protect children from sexual violence.

Abstract

Reflective practice holds significant importance in teacher education as it allows educators to assess their teaching experiences critically and enhance their professional skills (Diseth, 2025). This research seeks to investigate how English pre-service teachers experience reflective practice through video and transcript-based self-observation during their teaching practicum. This investigation utilized a qualitative research framework employing Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) to delve into the lived experiences of participants regarding video-aided reflection. The study involved six English pre-service teachers participating in a three-month practicum at a senior high school located in Indonesia. Data collection included video observations of the participants' teaching practices followed by comprehensive semi-structured interviews. The data from these interviews were transcribed and examined using IPA methods to discern key experiences, develop themes, and understand participants' perspectives on their reflection processes. This study aims to shed light on how video and transcript-based reflection can facilitate reflective practice and professional development among future English teachers. The outcomes are expected to enhance teacher training by emphasizing the advantages of video-based reflection as a mechanism to encourage more evidence-informed and critical reflection.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low levels of critical thinking and collaboration skills among students in the Natural and Social Sciences course in third grade at SDN Kebun Bunga 6 in Banjarmasin. The purpose of this study was to improve students’ critical thinking and collaboration skills through the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning model using the Bentala Vista medium. This study is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted collaboratively over two cycles. The research subjects were 26 third-grade students at SDN Kebun Bunga 6 in Banjarmasin. Data collection techniques included observation, testing, and documentation. Data analysis employed a descriptive-comparative approach, comparing the pre-cycle, Cycle I, and Cycle II.The results showed a significant improvement. In the pre-cycle phase, students’ critical thinking skills were only 26.92%, and their collaboration skills were only 34.62%. After Cycle I interventions, in Session 1, critical thinking skills increased to 53.85%, while collaboration skills rose to 65.38%. Then, in Session 2, critical thinking skills increased to 61.54%, and collaboration skills increased to 73.08%. In Cycle II, Session 1, the mastery of critical thinking skills reached 73.08%, and that of collaboration skills reached 76.92%. Finally, in Cycle II, Session 2, the mastery of critical thinking skills reached 88.46%, and that of collaboration skills reached 96.15%. Thus, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning model using the Bentala Vista media successfully improved the critical thinking and collaboration skills of third-grade students at SDN Kebun Bunga 6 in Banjarmasin.

Abstract

The study aims to develop a guided inquiry-based teaching module assisted by GeoGebra on the Conceptual Understanding of Quadratic Functions at Xth grade Students of Mas Al-Mukhlisin Tanjung Tiram. This research is a Research and Development (R&D) study using the 4-D development model, which includes the stages of Define, Design, Development, and Disseminate. The instruments used in this study include validation, teacher and student response questionnaires, and a conceptual understanding test. Based on the validator's assessment results, the developed open module obtained a validity value of 86%, categorized as very valid. The results of the practicality of the teaching module based on the teacher's response questionnaire were 100% and students were 83,17%, categorized as very practical. Meanwhile, the effectiveness of the teaching module, as seen from the concept comprehension ability test, obtained a value of 80%, categorized as effective. Thus, the guided inquiry-based teaching module assisted by GeoGebra on the quadratic function material at Xth grade is declared suitable for use in learning because it has met the criteria of valid, practical, and effective.

Abstract

The development of broiler chicken agribusiness encompasses not only production aspects but also involves a complex value chain, thus requiring an integrated and sustainable agribusiness development model. This study aims to: (1) Identify the existing condition of broiler chicken farming agribusiness at CV Al An’am, and (2) Describe the development model of broiler chicken farming agribusiness at CV Al An’am. The method used is a descriptive analysis method, involving: (1) Descriptively analyzing the data, and (2) Describing the development model of broiler chicken agribusiness at CV Al An’am. The results indicate that: (1) Business management is bound by a cooperation agreement between PT. Bintang Sejahtera Bersama (the first party) and CV Al An’am (the second party). The first party is responsible for providing Day-Old Chicks (DOC), medicines, feed, technical services, and marketing the chickens. Meanwhile, the second party is responsible for preparing standard-compliant chicken coops along with their equipment, providing labor, and managing the poultry rearing. (2) The agribusiness development model applied is the contract farming model (nucleus-plasma partnership), where the cooperative relationship between both parties is legally bound through a written Cooperation Agreement to ensure business certainty and minimize market risks. Based on the results obtained, it is concluded that the broiler chicken agribusiness development model at CV Al An’am implements the nucleus-plasma partnership. This integrated model successfully provides business certainty while minimizing market fluctuation risks for the farmer.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pemanfaatan media audio visual dalam meningkatkan Perilaku Hidup Bersih dan Sehat (PHBS) pada siswa sekolah dasar kelas IVA, IVB, VA, dan VB di SDN 108 Moncongloe Homebase. Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah masih belum optimalnya penerapan PHBS pada siswa yang terlihat dari kebiasaan kurang disiplin mencuci tangan menggunakan sabun, membuang sampah pada tempatnya, serta kurangnya kepedulian terhadap kebersihan lingkungan sekolah. Selain itu, pembelajaran yang masih didominasi metode ceramah membuat siswa kurang aktif, cepat bosan, dan kurang memahami materi secara mendalam. Oleh karena itu, digunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik observasi pada tahap sebelum, selama, dan setelah kegiatan edukasi menggunakan media audio visual. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media audio visual memberikan dampak positif terhadap peningkatan pengetahuan, kesadaran, dan perilaku PHBS siswa. Hal ini ditandai dengan meningkatnya jumlah siswa yang mulai membiasakan perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat setelah mendapatkan pembelajaran melalui video edukatif dan demonstrasi sederhana di kelas. Siswa terlihat lebih antusias, lebih mudah memahami materi, serta lebih mampu menerapkan kebiasaan sehat dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Berdasarkan hasil observasi, sebanyak 73,86% siswa telah menerapkan PHBS, sedangkan 26,14% masih belum konsisten. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa media audio visual efektif dalam meningkatkan PHBS siswa sekolah dasar meskipun tetap diperlukan pembiasaan penguatan dan pendampingan secara berkelanjutan dari guru agar seluruh siswa dapat menerapkan PHBS secara optimal dalam lingkungan sekolah.
