Abstract

This study aims to analyze the language barriers experienced by Indonesian diaspora children in Mindanao in learning Indonesian for Foreign Speakers (BIPA) from a neuropsycholinguistic perspective by identifying the forms of decline in Indonesian language competence and the neurocognitive factors influenced by a multilingual environment. The study employed a qualitative approach using a Research and Development (R&D) design based on the 4D model, with a particular focus on the define stage. The research subjects consisted of seven students and two teachers at the Indonesian School of Davao, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, participant observation, and document analysis and were analyzed using an interactive model involving data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the language barriers experienced by the participants included difficulties in syntactic structure, tense usage, language registers, and code-mixing caused by interference from Visayan and Tagalog. Contrastive analysis revealed that differences in sentence patterns (S-V-O vs. V-S-O) and grammatical systems were the primary sources of errors. From a neuropsycholinguistic perspective, these barriers were associated with limitations in working memory, attention, and lexical representation, which were influenced by limited exposure to the Indonesian language. The findings also showed that the students’ receptive and expressive language abilities remained limited, particularly in command comprehension, vocabulary mastery, and verbal memory. This study contributes theoretically to the enrichment of neuropsycholinguistic studies in the context of diaspora children and language learning. Practically, the findings provide a foundation for designing BIPA instruction that is adaptive, contextual, and aligned with learners’ neurocognitive characteristics.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the direct and indirect influence of the effectiveness of online training, the success of industrial internships, the motivation for achievement and the professional competence of vocational school teachers in the field of business and tourism. This study uses a quantitative approach with a constellation model. The sample in this study was 161 teachers using the proportionate stratified random sampling technique. The data collection technique is in the form of a questionnaire using the Likert scale. The test of the requirements of the research analysis used the normality test, the linearity test, the multicollinearity test and the heterokedasticity test. The data analysis technique in this study uses path analysis. The results of the data analysis are as follows: 1) The effectiveness of online training has a direct effect on the professional competence of teachers by 0.159 (15.9%) with a t count of 2,282 1,975. 2) The success of industrial internships has a direct effect on the professional competence of teachers by 0.269 (26.9%) with a t count of 4.034 1.975. 3) Motivation for achievement has a direct effect on the teacher's professional competence of 0.489 (48.9%) with a t calculation of 7.370 1.975. 4) The effectiveness of online training had a direct effect on achievement motivation of 0.448 (44.8%) with a t count of 5.941 1.975. 5) The success of industrial internships has a direct effect on achievement motivation of 0.338 (33.8%) with a t count of 4.474 1.975. 6) The effectiveness of online training has an indirect effect on teachers' professional competence through achievement motivation of 0.2190 (21.90%) with a sobel test value of 4.62 1.96). 7) The success of industrial internships has an indirect effect on teachers' professional competence through achievement motivation of 0.1652 (16.52%) with a sobel test score of 3.84 1.96.

Abstract

This article aims to summarize the empirical evidence on the effects of mindful play interventions on self-regulation, executive function, social competence, and conflict resolution in children aged 4–6 years, and to assess their relevance to the development of Early Childhood Guidance and Counseling (BK PAUD) services. Using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method based on the PRISMA 2020 guidelines, 36 articles from Scopus, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar were analyzed through thematic synthesis. The results showed that mindful play consistently improved emotion management skills, impulse control, cognitive flexibility, empathy, and conflict resolution strategies. Teacher and parent support play a significant role in strengthening the effectiveness of interventions. These findings provide a conceptual and empirical basis for developing Mindful Play Counseling as an evidence-based BK PAUD service model. Theoretical, practical, and policy implications are discussed to strengthen the implementation of mindful play in early childhood education. Abstract

Elementary education faces complex challenges in managing students' learning processes involving cognitive (attention and memory) and affective (emotion) aspects. Transformational leadership of school principals plays a strategic role in creating a learning ecosystem that supports the optimization of students' neurocognitive functions. This research library aims to analyze the integration between neuropsychological principles (attention, memory, and emotion) and transformational leadership practices in elementary education, as well as formulating effective management strategies. The method used is a systematic literature review analyzing 18 sources covering Atkinson-Shiffrin's information processing theory, educational neuropsychology, transformational leadership, and research on emotion and learning. The results show that (1) students' attention can be managed through leadership strategies that create distraction-free environments and optimal stimulation; (2) working and long-term memory can be optimized through structured repetition, meaningful learning, and information elaboration; (3) positive emotions (happiness) increase memory encoding efficiency, while negative emotions (anxiety, sadness) disrupt retention and recall processes. Transformational leadership contributes through exemplary behavior, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individual consideration. This study recommends an integrative leadership model based on neuropsychology to improve learning quality in elementary education.

Abstract

Despite the rapid integration of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) in education, existing scholarship remains predominantly focused on technical performance, with limited attention to its normative and philosophical implications, particularly in non-Western contexts. This study addresses this gap by applying a dual philosophical framework grounded in Deweyan pragmatism and Countsian social reconstructionism to evaluate GenAI-mediated pedagogy. Using a qualitative conceptual design, this study employs a systematic thematic synthesis of peer-reviewed literature to examine Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) through the philosophical lenses of pragmatism and social reconstructionism. The findings reveal three key insights. First, GenAI demonstrates educational value only when pedagogically designed to augment, rather than replace, active student inquiry. Second, without deliberate policy intervention, its implementation risks amplifying existing digital inequalities in Indonesia. Third, the absence of a coherent national AI governance framework exposes educational systems to risks related to algorithmic bias and data injustice. Based on these findings, this study proposes a three-dimensional evaluative model integrating pedagogical quality, equity, and governance, offering a structured framework for guiding responsible GenAI adoption in developing educational systems.

Abstract

Limited access to formal school mental health services has increased the importance of subject teachers as providers of initial psychosocial support. However, practical guidance that helps non-counselor teachers apply person-centered principles in everyday classroom interactions remains scarce. This study aimed to develop and establish the preliminary feasibility and content validity of a digital person-centered support guide for junior high school subject teachers. The study employed the ADDIE model within an early-stage feasibility framework. A needs analysis was conducted in four junior high schools in South Halmahera, Indonesia. The product was developed as a Google Sites platform, validated by two experts, and pilot-tested with four subject teachers. The findings showed that all validation items were rated as relevant (I-CVI = 1.00; S-CVI/Ave = 1.00), although several linguistic and technical aspects still required refinement. Teachers also reported high initial acceptability and perceived usefulness. These findings suggest that the guide has potential as a school-based psychosocial support resource, although broader field testing is still needed.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis faktor yang memengaruhi kemampuan mengelola talent peserta didik Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) serta implikasinya terhadap kesiapan menentukan cita-cita. Penelitian menggunakan studi literatur kualitatif dengan analisis tematik terhadap 12 artikel bereputasi yang diseleksi dari basis data Scopus (2016-2026, Social Sciences dan Psychology, artikel, bahasa Inggris, open access). Hasil menunjukkan bahwa pengelolaan talent dipengaruhi oleh interaksi faktor individu, dukungan lingkungan sekolah, peran guru dan konselor, fleksibilitas pembelajaran, pengalaman ekstrakurikuler, serta keterlibatan keluarga. Pengelolaan talent yang optimal berkontribusi pada peningkatan motivasi belajar, kepercayaan diri, serta kesiapan perencanaan karier peserta didik. Temuan menegaskan pentingnya pengembangan sistem pengelolaan talent yang terintegrasi dan berkelanjutan dalam ekosistem pendidikan MTs.

Abstract

Indonesian migrant workers (TKI) in Hong Kong face significant psychological stress due to heavy workloads, social isolation, and cultural adaptation pressures. Limited access to mental health services exacerbates this condition. This community service program aims to improve the stress management skills of Indonesian migrant workers through the Mindfulness-Based Stress Approach (MBSA) CR8+. The program was implemented comprehensively with a training design using a participatory and educational approach that was oriented towards increasing individual capacity in managing stress through mindfulness techniques. This training was attended by 200 participants.. The intervention included online training (Zoom and Google Classroom) and offline training in Hong Kong, with the MBSA CR8+ module covering mindfulness techniques, progressive relaxation, emotion regulation, and guided breathing. Pre-test results showed that 45% of participants experienced high stress and 40% experienced moderate stress, with the dominant complaints being heavy workloads (55%) and limited rest time (48%). Post-test results showed a decrease in physical symptoms (40% to 35%) and negative emotions (30% to 25%), as well as a significant increase in positive coping strategies from 10% to 20%. The MBSA CR8+ approach has been proven effective in increasing self-awareness and stress regulation in Indonesian migrant workers. This model has potential for replication in migrant worker communities in other countries. This program produces a mindfulness-based training module that can be sustainably adopted by community partners.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze teacher career development management at SDS Aqil Global Islamic School and SDS Educate Center Mas in Batam City. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with a multisite case study design through interviews, observations, and documentation. The research participants consisted of principals, vice principals, senior teachers, new teachers, and foundation representatives. Data analysis was conducted interactively through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings revealed that teacher career development was implemented through three main stages: planning, implementation, and evaluation. In the planning stage, schools systematically conducted needs analysis and teacher competency mapping. The implementation stage was carried out through training, workshops, mentoring, learning communities, and additional assignments to improve teacher professionalism. The evaluation stage involved supervision, performance appraisal, and continuous feedback. The results also showed that principals’ support played a significant role in enhancing teachers’ competence, motivation, collaboration, and learning quality. Structured career development programs were proven to improve educational quality, strengthen learning culture, and sustain teacher professionalism in primary schools. This study recommends strengthening needs-based career development programs, improving supporting facilities, and conducting continuous evaluation so that teachers’ competencies can develop optimally in line with educational and technological advancements to support innovative, adaptive, and sustainable learning quality nationally.
