Abstract

The workshop that raised the issue of "One Waste a Thousand Disasters" became an important thing for the people of Mekarmukti Village, Cihampelas District, West Bandung Regency in an effort to eliminate environmental pollution around the Citarum river basin. The purpose of the workshop in the Community Service (PKM) program is to find out and practice household and small business waste management through the liquid fertilizer-based waste treatment tool "ROSDA" and the fish farming tool "BUDIKDADRUM" which can produce selling value that is delivered communicatively and interactively. The result of this wokrshop program is an increase in community knowledge and skills about the economic value of household and small business waste in the Mekarmukti Village environment as well as increasing public interest in trying to process tofu, tempeh and pindang fish product waste independently

Abstract

The role of music in political campaigns has become an increasingly significant phenomenon in Indonesia. Music not only acts as a means of strengthening political identity, but also as a tool for mass mobilization, political expression and the formation of public opinion. In the context of political campaigns, theme songs become symbols of the vision and values promoted by political parties, while political concerts become an opportunity to voice political aspirations and build mass support. Music is also used as a medium to express political and social views, where various musical genres such as rock, punk and hip-hop are used by musicians to voice dissatisfaction with political and social conditions in Indonesia. Song lyrics often contain political messages that reflect the views of a particular political party or social movement, helping to shape the political views and attitudes of listeners. Apart from that, music is also a tool to represent local political and cultural identities, strengthen social ties, and mobilize the masses at the regional level. However, political expression through music is also faced with challenges such as restrictions on freedom of expression and the risk of repression against musicians who are critical of the government. Therefore, it is important for governments and society to ensure that freedom of expression is respected and that musicians have space to express their political views without fear of repression. In this way, music can continue to be a positive force in political and social formation in Indonesia, helping to strengthen democracy and community involvement in the political process.

Abstract

This study explores the political communication strategies used by the Prabowo-Gibran pair in the 2024 elections in West Java. By using a holistic approach that combines traditional and digital methods, the pair managed to reach various segments of voters. Audience segmentation is key in delivering campaign messages that are relevant and attractive to each demographic group. The quick response to current issues strengthens the couple's image as leaders who are responsive and care about the interests of society. In addition, collaboration with local media helps them to ensure balanced and positive coverage of their campaigns, as well as expand the reach of communication with the public. This study highlights the importance of holistic, responsive and collaborative political communication strategies in winning voter support in West Java.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Di tengah maraknya topik inklusivitas kecantikan, produk dengan klaim mencerahkan atau memutihkan kulit masih digandrungi publik. Tujuan: Mengetahui pengaruh sikap, norma subjektif, dan persepsi kontrol perilaku, terhadap kepuasan yang dimediasi oleh brand image Scarlett Whitening. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan Theory of Planned Behavior dengan metode kuantitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif dan inferensial. Hasil: (1) Sikap berpengaruh terhadap brand image, di mana semakin tinggi keinginan untuk mencapai warna kulit cerah, maka semakin baik kesan untuk Scarlett Whitening, (2) norma subjektif berpengaruh negatif terhadap brand image, yakni ketika “memutihkan” semakin jarang digunakan sebagai fitur utama, maka brand image yang terbentuk pada Scarlett Whitening semakin baik, (3) persepsi kontrol perilaku berpengaruh terhadap brand image, di mana produk Scarlett Whitening dianggap sebagai produk yang mudah dijangkau sehingga brand image yang terbentuk menjadi baik, (4) brand image berpengaruh terhadap kepuasan, yakni semakin tinggi brand image maka semakin tinggi kepuasan, (5) sikap memiliki pengaruh terhadap kepuasan melalui brand image di mana mediasi bersifat semu, (6) norma subjektif tidak berpengaruh terhadap kepuasan melalui brand image, dan (7) persepsi kontrol perilaku memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap kepuasan Scarlett Whitening. Penting untuk menetapkan nama brand yang sesuai dengan citra yang diinginkan, serta mengadopsi strategi yang tepat untuk membangun brand image dan kepuasan secara berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh Kebijakan Perpres No.95 Tahun 2018 tentang peraturan Sistem Pemerintahan Berbasis Elektronik (SPBE) serta Sumedang yang memiliki nilai indeks SPBE rendah dan dihadapkan dengan tiga disrupsi, di antaranya pandemi, digital, dan milenial. Latar bekakang inilah yang mendorong Kota Sumedang diharuskan untuk membuat sebuah inovasi. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui strategi city branding melalui Program Sumedang Happy Digital Region yang dilakukan oleh Diskominfosanditik. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif yaitu sebuah metode yang menjabarkan fenomena atau keadaan sosial dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara, observasi, dan studi kepustakaan. Teknik penentuan key informant adalah purposive sampling dan teknik validasi data yang digunakan yaitu triangulasi data/sumber. Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan program city branding menekankan kelebihan Kabupaten Sumedang serta melakukan kerja sama dengan Provider Jaringan untuk mendukung identitas sebagai Kabupaten Digital, nominated outcomes atau tujuan yang ingin dicapai ialah meciptakan sistem e-government untuk meningkatkan reputasi kota.  Tidak hanya itu, Kota Sumedang juga mendorong adanya peningkatan pelayanan publik digital untuk menarik investor, sehingga dapat meningkatkan perekonomian, dan menarik wisatawan ke Kabupaten Sumedang. Dalam upaya menyebarkan informasi  menggunakan komunikasi on air dan off air, coherence atau tindakan yang dilakukan untuk mendukung program yaitu melalui tools berupa aplikasi atau website yang dapat diakses yaitu E-office, E-office Desa, dan Tahu Sumedang.

Abstract

The Industrial Revolution 4.0 has changed the way political parties build and maintain their brands, with digital and social media becoming the main tools in political communication strategies. Media capitalism, characterized by the concentration of media ownership in the hands of large conglomerates, influences the political landscape by reducing the diversity of perspectives in reporting and giving rise to significant bias. Media controlled by capitalist interests tend to provide favorable coverage to political parties with ties or affiliations with media owners, influencing voter perceptions and election results. Additionally, social media algorithms designed to maximize engagement and advertising revenue often amplify controversial and emotional content, exacerbating political polarization and spreading misinformation. Fake information that spreads rapidly through social media platforms disrupts the democratic process and undermines the integrity of elections. To overcome the negative impacts of media capitalism, efforts are needed to maintain media independence and integrity through support for investigative journalism and independent media, as well as stricter and more transparent regulations to reduce the concentration of media ownership. Media education is also important for increasing media literacy among the public, helping voters recognize false information and understand media bias. Collaboration between government, the media industry, non-governmental organizations and civil society is needed to create a healthy and sustainable media ecosystem, where digital technology is used to strengthen democratic processes.

Abstract

Language education plays an important role in community development, according to our literature review. This research examines how language education can facilitate community growth and development, and how this impacts social and economic dynamics. This research is a literature analysis. A literature review was conducted of scholarly literature, academic publications and research reports related to the role of language education in various community development contexts. The study highlights the importance of language education as a tool to improve the quality of life and opportunities for community members. The results show that high-quality language education can increase awareness and appreciation of local culture and traditions, and strengthen intergenerational and inter-community connections. In addition, language education that strengthens communication and negotiation skills can facilitate access to economic opportunities, such as employment, training and investment. This research highlights the importance of language education as a tool to improve quality of life and community opportunities.

Abstract

Abstrak Ketahanan pangan menjadi isu utama dalam kondisi perubahan iklim dunia saat ini yang tidak menentu. Panjangnya musim kemarau tahun ini (2023) akibat badai El Nino telah menjadikan dunia terlanda bencana kekeringan. Hal ini pula yang melanda kawasan Indonesia, khususnya di wilayah pulau Jawa yang terkena bencana kekeringan sehingga ada beberapa kabupaten/kota yang dinyatakan sebagai status bencana daerah. Terkait dengan hal tersebut, sistem pertanian yang menyokong pada ketahanan pangan menjadi terganggu akibat terancam gagal panen. Begitu juga dengan wilayah desa Cilembu yang dijadikan sebagai sentra produksi Ubi nasional mengalami dampak kekeringan. Untuk dapat membantu dan sebagai upaya mengantisipasi kondisi tersebut, Tim PKM Universitas Padjadjaran melakukan kegiatan aktivasi program ketahanan pangan yang berbasis masyarakat dan kearifan lokal. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat ini adalah untuk memberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan mengenai pemanfaatan lahan terbatas dalam program aktivasi ketahanan pangan pada kelompok tani “Pangkalan” Desa Cilembu Kabupaten Sumedang. Metode yang digunakan adalah ceramah, tanya jawab, diskusi dan workshop pelatihan tanaman hidroponik yang diikuti oleh para anggota kelompok tani “Pangkalan”. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa peserta program aktivasi ketahanan pangan dapat: (1) mengetahui dan memahami materi pentingnya katahanan pangan yang berbasis kearifan lokal; (2) mengidentifikasi potensi pemanfaatan lahan terbatas untuk menghasilkan jenis tanaman sayuran yang layak dikonsumsi; (3) membuat media tanam hidoponik. Adapun kesimpulan kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa peserta telah dapat membuat media tanam berupa hidroponik berbasis tanaman sayuran yang mendukung pada pengembangan ketahanan pangan masyarakat di wilayah Desa Cilembu.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out how the management of Instagram @jabarsaberhoaks carried out by the Jabar Saber Hoaks Team in tackling hoax news to the people of West Java. The writing method used is a qualitative method with the social media planning model The Circular Model of SoMe initiated by Regina Luttrell. Based on the results of observations and interviews, Instagram @jabarsaberhoaks at the share stage can create content that is relevant to the issues circulating in the community and build public trust in the Jabar Saber Hoaks Unit. At the optimize stage, Instagram @jabarsaberhoaks responsively receives and responds to complaints from the public through the direct message feature regarding issues that require fact checking and digital literacy. At the manage stage, the Jabar Saber Hoaks Team conducts media monitoring through the Instagram insight feature, and conducts quick responses. At the engage stage, Instagram @jabarsaberhoaks collaborates with other West Java Saber Hoaks Instagram accounts in publishing content. The conclusion that can be drawn is that the management of Instagram @jabarsaberhoaks has met several SoMe Model criteria, but needs to meet the aspects of optimizing all Instagram features, tools and using influencer relations.
