This study aims to explore the role of nonverbal communication in interpersonal relationships, with a focus on gestures, postures, and proxemics (physical distance between individuals). Nonverbal communication, which includes body movements, body language, as well as the use of personal space, has a significant impact on the understanding and dynamics of relationships between individuals. The study uses observation and in-depth interview methods to identify patterns of nonverbal communication in daily interactions. The results showed that gestures, postures, and proxemics can affect the way people respond to and understand each other, thereby strengthening or weakening interpersonal relationships. This research contributes to a deeper understanding of the importance of nonverbal elements in building effective and harmonious communication in various social contexts.

AbstractConcern and responsibility for company/industry is one concrete manifestation of external relations in the form of community development programs through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in the form of intensive training to entrepreneurs, small and micro enterprises (UKMM) Traditional Batik craftsmen. In one implementation of CSR programs PT. Indocement Tunggal Perkasa is doing activities to educate, train and provide capital to the rural artisans of traditional batik Cirebon palimanan Ciwaringin districts by utilizing renewable natural resources. The results of this CSR program showed to significan an increase in economic aspect, social aspect and environmental aspect awareness to the community about the PT. Indocement Tunggal Perkasa Tbk.Abstrak Kepedulian dan tanggung jawab perusahaan/industri merupakan salah satu wujud nyata dari eksternal relations berupa program pemberdayaan masyarakat melalui kegiatan Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) dalam bentuk pembinaan intensif terhadap pelaku usaha kecil mikro menengah (UKMM) Pengrajin Batik Tradisional. Dalam implementasi salah satu program CSR PT. Indocement Tunggal Perkasa yaitu melakukan kegiatan mendidik, melatih dan memberikan modal kepada para pengrajin batik tradisional di desa Ciwaringin kecamatan Palimanan Kabupaten Cirebon dengan memanfaatkan sumber daya alam yang terbarukan. Penelitian ini berjudul “Proses Public Relations dalam Kegiatan Layanan Kendaraan Konseling Silih Asih Juara (KEKASIH JUARA) oleh Seksi Promosi dan Pemberdayaan Masyarakat Dinas Kesehatan Kota Bandungâ€. Penulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui proses Public Relations dalam pengelolaan Kegiatan Layanan Kendaraan Konseling Silih Asih Juara (KEKASIH JUARA) oleh Seksi Promosi dan Pemberdayaan Masyarakat Dinas Kesehatan Kota Bandung. Metode penulisan yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah melalui wawancara, observasi dan studi kepustakaan. Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan bahwa Kegiatan Layanan Kendaraan Konseling Silih Asih Juara (KEKASIH JUARA) tahapan proses Public Relations, yaitu pengumpulan fakta yang dilakukan dengan wawancara langsung dengan pegawai dan diskusi forum. Perencanaan yang dimulai dari menentukan tujuan sampai menentukan anggaran. Pelaksanaan meliputi persiapan kegiatan dan mengontrol berjalannya kegiatan sesuai jadwal acara yang dibuat dan evaluasi mengenai dampak dan hasil yang dirasakan setelah kegiatan, didapatkan dari hasil wawancara peserta dan rekapitulasi data pertiga bulan. Simpulan yang dapat diambil adalah Seksi Promosi sudah menjalankan tugas dan fungsinya dengan baik, terbukti dengan lancarnya kegiatan dari pengumpulan fakta hingga evaluasi. Saran dari penulis adalah sebaiknya Seksi Promosi beserta panitia lain meningkatkan koordinasi pengkomunikasian informasi kegiatan agar warga Kota Bandung khususnya dapat lebih mengetahui kegiatan layanan konseling ini.

The research investigates the importance of English skills in improving the performance of small-scale business practitioners in the tourism industry on Pangandaran Beach. This area is unique and environmentally friendly and serves both domestic and international tourists which in turn provide vast opportunities for supply. However, entrepreneurs are unable to articulate some ideas and interact better with foreign tourists because of the language barrier which limits their ability to market local culture, services and make money. Data collected includes quantitative data from 46 respondents and qualitative interviews. From these it can be discerned that English skills vary, with the majority of entrepreneurs appearing to be educated however with limited command of the language. Some of the challenges were time going to classes, finances, and language barriers. Notably however, contact with visitors, especially foreign nationals, is deemed abundant and English is deemed important to use in order to achieve satisfaction. The results illustrate the possibility that better English proficiency can lead to better quality of interaction, more positive feedback, and increased earnings. The study centers around flexible and inexpensive English training that is supplemented with the needs of the entrepreneurs like online, role gaming and etc. These kinds of activities are crucial in enabling small scale businesses to compete in the international tourism market, boost the quality of services and stimulate the growth of the regional economy.

Character education in schools is a fundamental step in shaping young people who have noble values such as honesty, responsibility, discipline and tolerance. This article discusses the importance of character education as an integral part of the national education system, as well as various implementation strategies that can be applied in the school environment. Cultivating noble values from an early age helps students build a strong personality, good ethics and social skills that support community life. The article also reviews the challenges in implementing character education in schools, including the role of teachers, the curriculum and collaboration with parents. With an integrated approach and support from all parties, character education has the potential to create a generation that is not only intellectually smart, but also superior in morals and behavior.

PT Media Telekomunikasi Mandiri atau yang biasa disebut dengan PT MTM merupakan sebuah perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang ICT atau Information and Communications Technology yang menyediakan solusi, fasilitas dan layanan di bidang teknologi informasi dan komunikasi data untuk para customer-nya. Dalam MTM, peran komunikasi eksternal di pegang oleh departemen Product Management & Principal Relations yang memiliki tugas utama untuk menjalin dan mempertahankan hubungan dengan principal guna mendukung kegiatan operasional perusahaan. Dalam penelitian ini, penulis menganalisis kegiatan komunikasi eksternal, yaitu Stakeholder Engagement yang diimplementasikan di departemen tersebut menggunakan model Stakeholder Engagement dari buku The Practitioner Handbook on Stakeholder Engagement. Penulisan ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Data dalam tulisan ini diperoleh dengan menggunakan sejumlah metode, yaitu observasi dan studi pustaka. Selanjutnya langkah-langkah dalam analisis data terdiri dari empat tahapan yaitu pengumpulan data, kondensasi data, analisis data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa kegiatan Stakeholder Engagement yang diimplementasikan telah sesuai dengan model tersebut. Namun, masih ada beberapa aspek yang memiliki potensi untuk dikembangkan.

Background. 21st century education emphasizes the importance of developing high-level thinking skills (HOTS) for students, including analysis, evaluation and synthesis skills. Seamless learning, which integrates technology and media, becomes relevant in this context because it creates a dynamic and connected learning experience. Purpose. This research aims to measure the increase in students’ critical thinking abilities through seamless learning using quasi-experimental methods. By adopting this approach, the research seeks to provide empirical evidence about the effectiveness of seamless learning in improving students’ critical thinking abilities. Method. This research methodology takes a quantitative approach with quasi-experimental methods. Data was collected from a school in West Sumatra, with research subjects being grade 7 students. Data collection was carried out through critical thinking ability test instruments before and after the learning period. Analysis was carried out using the t-test in SPSS to compare the two groups. Results. The results of the analysis showed significant differences between the experimental and control groups, with a greater increase in critical thinking ability scores in the experimental group. The resulting t value was 0.05, with a p value of less than 0.05, indicating that the difference between the two groups did not occur by chance. This confirms that seamless learning has a positive impact in improving students’ critical thinking abilities. Conclusion. These findings highlight the success of seamless learning in improving students’ critical thinking abilities. However, this study has limitations, such as the relatively small sample size and limited duration of the intervention. Further research with larger sample sizes is recommended to deepen this understanding.

In Indonesia, the activities of coming to the graves of ancestors of the Prophet are prevalent. It encompasses the trifecta of economy, culture and religion. Grave of Sheikh Abdul Muhyi in Pamijahan, Tasikmalaya is an instance of where such religious activities can be transformed into profit by the community. With the context of women and tomb visiting, this research aims to identify the nexus of spirituality, culture, and economic development through this practice. The study was qualitative and descriptive in nature. The researchers were purposefully engaged to select samples of three groups: pilgrims, local business operators, and tomb caretakers. A detailed questionnaire was developed for in-depth interviews, as well as observational techniques. Thematic analysis was employed as a qualitative data analysis approach. Results indicate that there is considerable economic activity stemming from the activities of pilgrimage. More than 230 traders depend on these centuries old traditions as they prepare food, gift articles as well as offer guiding and accommodation services. Islamic trading principles bring added value to such interactions where trust and justice prevail. It contributes in terms of revenue generation, growth of the informal sector and avenues for cultural preservation. As consequence of the migration streams for economic reasons local development through remittances and increased economic activities is also achieved. The pilgrimage tradition practised at Sheikh Abdul Muhyi’s Tomb clearly illustrates the juxtaposition of spirituality and economics and therefore can serve as a good example for culture based community development.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis komunikasi Public Relations (PR) yang dilakukan oleh tim pasangan Ridwan Kamil dan Suswono (RK-Suswono) dalam konteks pencabutan gugatan hasil Pilkada Jakarta. Pencabutan gugatan ini merupakan keputusan strategis yang tidak hanya berdampak pada posisi politik pasangan tersebut tetapi juga pada persepsi publik terhadap integritas dan citra mereka. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus, di mana data diperoleh melalui analisis dokumentasi, wawancara mendalam dengan tim PR, dan pengamatan terhadap narasi yang berkembang di media massa dan media sosial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi komunikasi PR tim RK-Suswono menonjolkan pendekatan dramaturgis, di mana terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara komunikasi internal yang bertujuan menyatukan tim dan komunikasi eksternal yang difokuskan pada membangun citra harmonis di mata publik. Selain itu, transparansi dalam penyampaian keputusan kepada publik memainkan peran kunci dalam menjaga kredibilitas pasangan RK-Suswono di tengah situasi yang sarat konflik dan tekanan politik. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa komunikasi PR yang efektif dalam situasi sensitif membutuhkan sinergi antara narasi internal yang solid dan komunikasi eksternal yang strategis. Studi ini memberikan wawasan penting tentang peran komunikasi PR dalam membangun kepercayaan publik dan memperkuat posisi politik dalam situasi krisis.

Background: Public relations and Culture are intertwined. Societal and corporate Culture influences public relations practices. Conversely, the existence of public relations influences organizational cultural practices and societal Culture. Regrettably, the human resource department has a more dominant role in corporate culture practices than the public relations department. It is mainly related to internalizing organizational values, while the public relations department supports the internalization program through internal corporate communication channels. Purpose: This paper examines public relations function in corporate culture practices based on stories and opinions from Indonesian communication practitioners. It focuses on three main research questions, first how and what the impacts of the existence of public relations – corporate communication to the development of corporate Culture; Second, what the functions of public relations are – corporate communication to support the building and changing corporate Culture; and third what factors influence the strategic function of public relations - corporate communication in corporate culture practice. Methods: This study employs qualitative methods through semi-structured interviews with public relations/corporate communication professionals working at different corporations and organizations. Results: Based on thematic analysis, the empirical findings revealed that cascading organizational values is still part of the human resource department’s primary job, while corporate communication is essential to echoing the key message. Determining the appropriate communication channels and corporate language is critical to ease misunderstandings amongst corporate members. Finally, the digital business environment frequently invites hostile situations, and therefore strong leadership and agile organization can preserve business sustainability. Conclusion: The influence of public relations is essential to orchestrate various internal communication channels. The agile organization provides ease of organizational bureaucracy in corporate culture practices. Implications: This initial finding contributes to the field of public relations – corporate communication to provide a balanced perspective from Indonesian practitioners.
