Abstract

Introduction: Nursing diagnoses are essential in Intensive Care Units (ICUs) for guiding decisions, prioritizing care, and improving outcomes. However, inconsistent terminology and documentation burdens hinder their effective implementation and evaluation. The aimed of this study was to examine the application of nursing diagnoses in ICUs, exploring their relationships with clinical indicators, patient outcomes, and the impact of standardized diagnostic frameworks on nursing practice. Methods: This scoping review followed PRISMA-ScR guidelines We searched PubMed, CINAHL, Scopus, and Web of Science from 2019 to 2024. Studies examining nursing diagnoses in ICU settings were included. The reviewers independently screened 527 records, with nineteen full-text articles assessed for eligibility, resulting in thirteen included studies. Results: Thirteen studies with diverse methodologies from multiple countries were analyzed. Four key themes emerged: 1) Clinical indicators linked to specific nursing diagnoses, particularly respiratory conditions where impaired spontaneous ventilation was associated with dyspnea, fever, fatigue, and cough; 2) Implementation processes for nursing diagnoses, including electronic health records and nurse-delivered thoracic ultrasound that enhanced clinical decision-making; 3) Diagnostic validation and prevalence studies highlighting the importance of standardized frameworks for accurate diagnosis; and 4) Interventions that improved nursing practice and patient outcomes, including the institutionalization of nursing processes and development of electronic care plans. Conclusion: Standardized nursing diagnoses optimize ICU patient care by providing a structured approach to assessment, intervention planning, and outcome evaluation. Technology integration and consistent terminology enhance diagnostic accuracy and intervention effectiveness. Future research should focus on validating these frameworks across diverse ICU settings and patient populations to establish best practices for implementation.

Abstract

Introduction: The ability of mothers to supply adequate nutrition is closely linked to the nutritional support given to children aged 6-24 months who experience stunted growth. A mother's responsibilities can be fulfilled through her skills, confidence, and ability to perform tasks and ensure proper nutrition for children aged 6-24 months who are experiencing stunted growth. The objective of this research was to explore the connection between how mothers feed their children and the nutritional health of kids aged 6 to 24 months. Methods: This study employed a cross-sectional correlation analysis utilizing height-for-age z-score tables from the World Health Organization alongside the Infant and Young Children Feeding Practice and Structure Questionnaire. A total of 76 participants were chosen through a cluster random sampling method from five district health centers in Malang Regency. The data were analyzed using the Spearman rank test. Results: The findings indicated a significant association between the mother's capability to meet the nutritional needs of children aged 6-24 months who are stunted (including breastfeeding, food preparation and processing, complementary feeding, responsive feeding, and adherence to stunted therapy) and their nutritional status (measured by upper arm circumference and minimal weight gain), with a p-value of less than 0.05. Additionally, the mothers were responsible for implementing feeding practices. Conclusion: Maternal feeding practices are linked to the nutritional status of children aged 6–24 months who are stunted. This connection is evident in aspects such as breastfeeding, food preparation and processing, complementary feeding, responsive feeding, and adherence to stunting therapy, which relate to nutritional indicators like minimal weight gain and upper arm circumference. However, other indicators did not show a correlation between breastfeeding, food preparation and processing, responsive feeding, and adherence to the nutritional status of stunted children, specifically regarding upper arm circumference. Keywords: feeding practice; maternal; nutritional status; stunted

Abstract

Persistent disengagement in primary Social Studies frequently occurs when instruction is weakly connected to pupils’ lived cultural experiences. This study examined the effect of a culturally contextualized pedagogy grounded in Mandar culture on fifth-grade students’ interest and achievement in Social Studies. A quasi-experimental pretest-posttest control group design was implemented in two public primary schools over eight weeks. Data were collected using a Likert-type interest scale, curriculum-aligned achievement tests, classroom observations, and implementation fidelity checklists. Descriptive statistics, assumption tests, independent-samples t tests, and multivariate analysis of variance with alpha set at 0.05 were employed. Compared with the control class, the experimental class showed substantially greater gains in both interest and achievement, and posttest differences between groups were statistically significant. These findings indicate that systematically embedding Mandar cultural elements such as Kalindaqdaq and Sayyang Pattu’du within inquiry-based and collaborative learning meaningfully strengthens student engagement and learning outcomes. The study concludes that integrating local culture into primary Social Studies is an effective strategy for improving both affective and cognitive learning indicators and offers a transferable model for culturally responsive curriculum design.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of Wordwall-based interactive media implemented through the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) learning model on students’ interest and learning outcomes in social studies. The research employed an experimental method with a pretest–posttest control group design. The sample consisted of 42 fourth-grade students from SDN 17 Langnga-Langnga and SDN 39 Tamalalang in Cluster I, Minasatene District, Pangkajene and Islands Regency. Data were collected using questionnaires, observations, achievement tests, and documentation. The data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics with JASP, including normality and homogeneity tests, independent samples t-test, ANOVA, and MANOVA. The results indicated that the implementation of Wordwall-based interactive media through the TGT model had a significant positive effect on students’ interest and learning outcomes. The independent samples t-test showed a significance value of p < .001, indicating differences between the experimental and control groups. Furthermore, MANOVA results (p < .001) confirmed a simultaneous effect on both dependent variables. It can be concluded that the integration of Wordwall and the TGT learning model effectively improves students’ engagement and academic achievement in social studies at the elementary school level.

Abstract

Abstract

Sexual violence in higher education remains a persistent structural problem that cannot be effectively mitigated through legal and bureaucratic mechanisms alone, especially in contexts where cultural and institutional norms inhibit reporting and accountability. This study aims to examine how members of an academic community construct and negotiate the meaning of social sanctions as preventive instruments against sexual violence on campus. Employing a sequential explanatory mixed-method design at Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar, the research first conducted semi-structured qualitative interviews with students, faculty, and university leaders to explore shared understandings, moral reasoning, and perceived barriers surrounding social sanctions. These themes then informed the development of a quantitative survey, which was administered to a broader sample and analyzed using non-parametric statistical techniques. The findings reveal a strong consensus that social sanctions function as effective normative controls when they are applied consistently, transparently, and in ways perceived as procedurally just and morally legitimate by the campus community. Quantitative results further demonstrate significant positive associations between perceptions of consistent sanctioning by faculty and institutional leaders and the overall acceptance of social sanctions as a legitimate preventive mechanism. These results suggest that institutional integrity, value-based education, and participatory community engagement are critical for sustaining effective prevention of sexual violence. The novelty of this research lies in foregrounding socially constructed sanctions—rather than legalistic responses—as the central analytic lens in a Global South university context using a mixed-method approach. The study contributes conceptually and practically by offering an empirically grounded framework to guide universities and policymakers in designing community-based, value-driven strategies to prevent sexual violence on campus.

Abstract

One government agency implementing the Integrity Zone (ZI) through the Corruption-Free Area (WBK) and Clean and Serving Bureaucracy Area (WBBM) approach is the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Province. However, as of 2024, BPS NTT has not yet achieved WBK or WBBM status from the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Integrity Zone development policy at BPS NTT. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, with data collected from primary and secondary sources involving 15 informants. Data analysis followed Creswell’s qualitative analysis techniques. The analysis is based on the policy implementation model proposed by Van Meter and Van Horn, which consists of six variables. The findings indicate that policy standards and objectives are clear and measurable; policy resources are adequate; inter-organizational communication and coordination are well established; implementers demonstrate discipline and a strong sense of responsibility; social, economic, and political conditions are supportive; and implementers’ dispositions positively influence policy implementation. Supporting factors include strong leadership commitment, a mature monitoring and evaluation system, a culture of innovation, and high public demand. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors include limited employee understanding of change agent roles, uneven internet network coverage, respondent burden, and budgetary dynamics. Overall, the implementation of the Integrity Zone policy at BPS NTT shows positive progress but still faces structural and technical challenges.
