Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the management of partnership programs between Vocational High Schools and the Business World and Industry through a multi-site study approach at SMKN 1 Driyorejo and SMKN 1 Duduksampeyan. The focus of the study includes planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating partnership programs carried out by both schools in order to improve student competency. This study uses a qualitative approach with a multi-site study design and data collection techniques in the form of in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that SMKN 1 Driyorejo is superior in implementing Teaching Factory which directly involves industry in learning, while SMKN 1 Duduksampeyan tends to implement partnerships in the form of Field Work Practices, industrial visits, and guest teachers. Both schools have established productive partnerships with the industrial world, but there are challenges such as the imbalance of partners between expertise competencies, limited practice facilities, and the need for a standardized evaluation system. Cross-site analysis revealed that partnership success is strongly influenced by strategic planning, collaborative organizing, real-world production-based implementation, and industry-involved evaluation. It is recommended that schools strengthen partnership management structures, businesses and industries expand their roles in vocational education, governments provide standard regulations and incentives, and higher education institutions develop replication models and further research. These findings are expected to be a strategic model in strengthening partnership-based vocational education in Indonesia.

Abstract

This research aims to develop and test the effectiveness of ethnoliteracy-based numeracy learning tools that are integrated with deep learning strategies in a pedagogical context in the context of multicultural elementary schools in Nganjuk Regency. Using the ADDIE model Research and Development (R&D) approach, the research was conducted in three schools with different local cultural backgrounds. Data was collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, numeracy tests, and document analysis. The results of the study showed that the learning tools developed were able to improve students' understanding of numeracy concepts with an average score increase of 24.3 points. In addition, there was an increase in positive attitudes towards mathematics, with a decrease in boredom from 42% to 12%, as well as an increase in metacognition scores from 2.3 to 3.9 (on a scale of 5). Contextualizing material through local culture has been shown to increase the relevance of student learning and engagement, which is reflected in the 96% attendance rate and the number of critical questions students ask. Despite obstacles such as limited learning resources and digital access constraints, the adaptation of teachers and students is able to overcome these challenges effectively. This study concludes that the integration of ethnoliteracy and pedagogical deep learning strategies significantly improves students' cognitive, affective, and participatory aspects in numeracy learning. The implication of these findings is the need to develop contextual learning based on local culture to improve the quality of numeracy education in multicultural primary schools.

Abstract

Cultural diversity in a global educational environment demands a counseling approach that is able to respond to the social dynamics and cultural identities of students. Multicultural counseling is an important strategy in supporting an equal, inclusive, and social justice-based learning process. This study aims to map the development of culturally responsive counseling theory and practice through bibliometric analysis. A total of 316 scientific articles indexed in the Scopus database in the period 2020–2024 were analyzed using VOSviewer and Bibliometrix R software. The results of the study indicate that multicultural counseling has shifted from a cultural awareness approach to interventions based on evaluation, social justice, and integration of local wisdom. The findings also reveal the dominance of contributions from Western countries, as well as the weak representation of the Asian and Global South regions, which indicates an inequality in knowledge production. This study provides a concrete contribution in formulating the direction of developing a cross-cultural competency-based counselor education curriculum and data-based policy advocacy, emphasizing the need for more equal global collaboration. These findings can be the basis for designing counselor training models and psychosocial service policies that are more contextual and sensitive to cultural diversity.

Abstract

Bullying in elementary schools remains a significant challenge that affects students' psychological well-being and academic performance. This study examines the implementation and effectiveness of the "Stop Pesan Sensi" program at SDN Wonokusumo VI/45, focusing on the collaborative roles of teachers, parents, and students in fostering a safe and inclusive school environment. Utilizing qualitative methods such as observations, interviews, and focus group discussions, this research investigates how active participation from all stakeholders contributes to reducing bullying incidents. Teachers served as facilitators, employing interactive strategies such as storytelling, role-playing, and class discussions to enhance students' understanding of bullying and its consequences. Parents participated in workshops designed to equip them with skills to identify bullying signs and reinforce anti-bullying values at home. Students engaged in creative activities, including drama performances, poster campaigns, and open forums, which promoted empathy and positive behavioral changes. Quantitative data showed a significant decrease in bullying incidents over three months, from 120 cases before the program to 20 cases after. The findings highlight the importance of a holistic and participatory approach in bullying prevention programs. Collaboration among educators, families, and students creates a supportive environment that not only reduces bullying but also fosters tolerance and social-emotional learning. This study recommends expanding such integrated programs across schools to strengthen character development and promote a positive school culture. The results contribute valuable insights into effective strategies for bullying prevention in primary education contexts, particularly within Indonesian schools.

Abstract

Zakat is a form of charity that must be done by Muslims to help those in need, but in this digital era, the emergence of online fraud has the potential to reduce trust in zakat organizers and have an impact on a person's willingness to pay zakat online. This study aimed to explore the effect of trust in fundraisers and cyber-fraud perceptions on the willingness to pay zakat online by considering the moderating variables of perceived behavioral control and media literacy. This study was a quantitative study, with a sample of 237 Muslims in Indonesia who have been victims of fraud on social media. The research data obtained through a survey mechanism from June to October 2024 were then analyzed using Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results of this study showed that trust in fundraisers had a significant effect on the willingness to pay zakat online when control variables such as age group, gender, education level, and marital status are considered. Without considering the control variables, this effect was not significant. On the other hand, cyber-fraud perception did not significantly affect willingness to pay zakat in both models, although there was a negative tendency. Furthermore, perceived behavioral control does not act as a moderator in the relationship between trust in fundraisers and cyber-fraud perception on willingness to pay zakat. Media literacy showed a significant moderating effect in the model without control variables in the influence between trust in fundraisers and willingness to pay zakat online.

Abstract

This study aims to examine ethnographic methods as a relevant and in-depth qualitative approach to understanding phenomena in education and counseling. Using a literature review method, the research analyzes various scholarly sources discussing the definition, characteristics, historical development, philosophical foundations, and benefits of ethnographic research, including its application in educational contexts. The findings indicate that ethnography emphasizes the researcher’s direct engagement in the cultural context of participants to capture deep social meaning. This approach is grounded in the philosophical perspectives of empiricism, social constructivism, and humanism, which view social reality as a co-constructed phenomenon and emphasize the importance of participants’ subjective understanding. In the field of education and counseling, ethnography has proven effective in uncovering local values and cultural practices that shape interaction dynamics in school environments. Practical examples include studies on school culture in character education and the exploration of counseling values within local traditions such as Bau Nyale in Lombok. Moreover, recent developments highlight the rise of virtual ethnography and netnography as responses to the digital transformation of society. In conclusion, ethnographic research not only provides a holistic understanding of culture but also offers practical contributions to the design of educational and counseling interventions that are contextual, inclusive, and rooted in local wisdom.

Abstract

Career behavior is a crucial factor for Vocational High School students to successfully transition into the workforce. However, many students face challenges such as low self-confidence, unclear career goals, and limited decision-making skills. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of group counseling using the Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) approach in improving the career behavior of Vocational High School students. The study employed a quantitative method with a pre-test post-test control group design, involving 24 students divided into experimental and control groups. The experimental group received CBT-based group counseling across 6 sessions over three weeks, while the control group received general career guidance. Data were collected using a validated Likert-scale Career Behavior Inventory and analyzed with the Mann-Whitney U test due to the small sample size. The results showed a statistically significant difference between the two groups (U = 0.000, Z = -4.161, p < 0.05, effect size r = 0.85), with the experimental group demonstrating substantial improvements in self-awareness, self-confidence, career decision-making, and readiness for planning future careers. These findings indicate that CBT is an effective intervention for enhancing students’ career behavior. Practically, this study suggests that CBT-based counseling can be integrated into school counseling programs to better prepare vocational students for the demands of the labor market.
