Abstract

Carnival clothing is one form of artists? creativities in fine art, created in various functions. Those functions are viewed based on utility value and the purpose that consistently are embedded in an art work. In addition, several functions of carnival clothing were constructed on the basis of social and cultural conditions that are effective in a certain place. Each and every type of clothing raises perception to everyone else who sees it. Promotion of fashion style and industry through carnival clothing results in diverse perceptions acceptable to the viewers. Audience?s perceptions are also not apart from the key functions, social ones, and the physical ones of those carnival clothings themselves. Those three functions are the common ones of each art work created as communication tool with everyone else. The carnival clothings are communication tools of the fashion designer to the customers, communication between one customer and another one. On the carnival clothing there are also sources of knowledge science, history, technology, and many other explainable meanings. Through carnival clothings, the detectable issues in physical and non-physical structures are identifiable as well as they play role as the space to make more exploration on the dynamics of a community culture. This article aims to answer the functions of carnival clothing, using aesthetic approach, through the theory of clothing functions Roland Barthes and Edmund Burke Feldman?s art functions.

Abstract

Sistem pentahanan adalah faktor penting dalam pengamanan sistem tenaga listrik. Sistem pentanahan memiliki fungsi yaitu membuang arus lebih ke dalam  tanah atau bumi, sehingga dapat mengamankan manusia dari gangguan listrik. Faktor yang mempengaruhi nilai tahanan pentanahan antara lain jenis tanah, ukuran dan jenis elektroda yang digunakan, kedalaman penanaman batang elektroda. Tahanan jenis tanah dipengaruhi oleh komposisi tanah, temperatur,  kandungan air (kelembaban), dan kandungan kimia dalam tanah. Untuk menurunkan nilai tahanan dan tahanan jenis tanah  yang lebih kecil dilakukan dengan perlakuan kimia tanah (soil treatment) berupa penambahan zat aditif dan penambahan kedalaman penanaman elektroda. Dalam penelitian ini zat aditif yaang digunakan adalah  arang kayu dan garam (NaCL). Metode pengukuran yang digunakan adalah metode tiga titik dan elektroda batang tunggal berdiameter 0,015 m dan panjang 1 m dan alat ukur Digital Earth Resistance Tester 4105 A dengan lokasi pengujian di halaman Laboratorium Konversi Energi Listrik Teknik Elektro, Universitas Diponegoro Semarang dengan jenis tanah adalah tanah  liat. Hasil pengujian dan perhitungan dengan kedalaman 0,8 m dihasilkan nilai tahanan pentanahan tanpa perlakuan sebesar 16,70 Ω, setelah penambahan arang kayu dan garam (NaCL) sebesar 5,31 Ω. Nilai tahanan jenis tanah tanpa perlakuan sebesar 17,57 Ω-m, setelah penambahan arang kayu dan garam (NaCl) sebesar 5,53 Ω-m.

Abstract

The investigation is inspired by the cultural diversity of Indonesia, particularly the local contents in Semarang implemented through the world of early-childhood education. The study aims to identify the implementation of local contents in the arts learning in a play group in Gunung pati Semarang. This is theoretical study conducted in two phases as the strategies for field study implementation. The structured observation was conducted through documents, portfolio, questionnaires studies, and in-depth interviews. The data analysis was conducted thematically through date triangulation. The object was selected through purposive sampling of all populations totalled 47 play groups, then 14 were selected. The local contents were implemented in the arts learning in play groups in Gunungpati. The local contents comprise fine arts, dances, and music. Those contents were taken from the local cultures in Semarang in general and they reflect the local culture in Gunungpati.

Abstract

The process of increasing of motor skills can be done with finger painting activities. The importance of finger painting activities on the development of fine motor and gross motor skills can help improve children's creativity and art. Finger painting in school is drawing activities by using fingertips and colour pulp directly to darwing media. The purpose of the study is to analyze the development of gross motor and fine motor skills in finger painting activities. This research uses qualitative research methods. The approach model used is a case study with 37 childrens of St. Arnoldus Yanssen and Aegela kindergartens the source of research data were, head of kindergarten. Teachers and parents. Data collection techniques are observation, interview, documentation. The criteria used in the research are underdeveloped (UD), beginning to develop (BD), very well developed (VD), and develop as expected (DE) according to Permendikbud about National Standards For Early Childhood Education. Data obtained from kindergarten Arnold Yanssen show that indicators using the right and left hand tendto lead criteria beginning to develop (BD). Data obtained from samples at the Aegela Kindergarten show the highest level of achievement is beginning to develop (BD) in skilled indicators using the right hand and left hand while for the underveloped achievement (UD) the highest in drawing indicators according to his ideas and doing detailed body movements . The results of this study are gross motor development and fine motor development of children in two kindergatens tend to lead to the criteria of beginning to develop for gross motor on the indicator using the right hand and left hand, while fine motor on the indicator self expression through drawing motion. Teachers in kindergarten need to increase knowledge about the development of children's gross motor and fine motor skills, as well as finger painting. It is intended that the teacher can see the full development of the child according to age and then give the children the right stimulus.

Abstract

Based on constitution number 20 Year 2003 about educational system concerning with National education, it asserts that teaching - learning activity should be PAIKEM in nature. To promote PAIKEM learning, teachers should design the learning by cooperative learning model. In Public Primary School 2 Sambung, the teacher had implemented 2013 curriculum but the realization was not fully utilized PAIKEM well. This research aims to find out Talking Stick model assisted by PowerPoint medium influences to students? critical thinking skills. This qualitative descriptive research took population from Public Primary School in Sultan Agung cluster, Kudus municipality. Then, the sample was taken by purposive sampling, resulting to IV A class of Public Primary School 2 Sambung which consisted of 22 students as experimental group. Meanwhile, the control group was obtained from IV B class, consisting of 18 students.   Techniques of collecting data were test - essay test, and non-test - documentation and observation. The calculation of independent sample t-test showed that tcount0.4, meaning that tcount>ttabel.Result of experimental group's N-gain score was 0.65, categorized moderate. Meanwhile, the control group obtained 0.35, categorized moderate. It showed there was improvement of critical thinking skill after being intervened by talking stick assisted by PowerPoint media.

Abstract

The instruments currently used are still paper and pencil based. This development research aims to produce a clinical supervision instrument for android and junior high school teachers are valid and reliable. Data collection was done by interview and observation. Content validity was obtained through 4 expert judgments, analyzed using Aiken's V formula. The construct validity was analyzed by Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and Intraclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC), and reliability with Alpha Cronbach with the help of IBM SPSS 24.0 software. The results showed that the validity value of all instruments in the preparation stage until the closing stage obtained a score> 0.5. The result of field test shows that there are some statement items that are in valid criteria with value of Factor Factor> 0, 5. Aspects with valid statement items include Preparation stages with 5 statements and Alpha Cronbach values ​​obtained at 0.640, Learning Activity stages with 23 statements and Alpha Cronbach values ​​obtained by 0.962, and Closing stages with 4 statements and Alpha Cronbach values ​​obtained at 0.680. Based on the results of the study, it was found that supervisors and teachers were very appreciative with the instrument of android based clinical supervision and the supervisor felt easier to conduct clinical supervision activities to the subject teachers. The benefits of this research are supervisors can use the instrument in carrying out clinical supervision with practical, easy and valid while for teachers can be used as a reference in preparing learning activities.

Abstract

This research is motivated by arts education learning problems in 60% of students who have not reached the Minimum Exhaustiveness Criteria. Based on the data of the low learning outcomes, efforts are needed to fix the learning process of arts education, especially about teaching materials. This study aims to develop, determine the feasibility of media, and the effectiveness of the use of montage-based learning module on the material to create imaginative images of arts education subjects in third grade Patemon 02 Primary School Semarang District. This research type is Research and Development withmodel development method Borg & Gall. The results of large-scale test learning have increased with the gain of N-gain of 0.69 which is included in the criterion is. Questionnaire responses students and teachers in good criteria. The conclusion of this research was a montage-based learning module feasible to be used in learning arts education material to create imaginative and effective images for use on learning SBK on student learning outcomes.

Abstract

The ability of scientific literacy and critical thinking are very important possessed by student. Many researchers suggested that Problem Based Learning (PBL) could enhance the students’ scientific literacy and critical thinking. The use of digital storytelling media is believed to help motivate students to focus more and joyfull on learning. Therefore the study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of PBL assisted by digital storytelling media to improve the scientific literacy and critical thinking skills of fifth graders of elementary school students. This study used a mixed-methods with explanatory sequential design. Research data were collected through written tests, questionnaires, and interviews. Classical completeness tests, N-gain test, and independent sample t-test were used to test the effectiveness of the treatment. The results of triangulation analysis of the questionnaire, observation, and interview data shown that PBL learning models assisted by digital storytelling media are effective in improving students’ science literacy and critical thinking skills.The digital storytelling media has helped students to understand the context, are more motivated to learn, and could facilitated students to be more critical and literate in understanding problems.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan desain, mengetahui kelayakan, serta menguji keefektifan media audio visual. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Research and Development dengan model pengembangan yang dikembangkan oleh Suiyono. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah teknik tes dan non tes. Berdasarkan penilaian validator ahli, aspek materi dalam media audio visual dinyatakan sangat layak dengan presentase 96%, sedangkan aspek media dinyatakan sangat layak dengan presentase perolehan sebesar 88%. Hasil uji normalitas menunjukkan bahwa pretest sebesar 0,170638 dan posttest sebesar 0,220033. Berdasarkan data tersebut disimpulkan bahwa uji kelompok kecil nilai pretest dan posttest berdistribusi normal karena nilai <. Berdasarkan hasil penghitungan uji t dengan menggunakan paired sample t-test observasi berpasangan diperoleh thitung sebesar -17.0428 dan ttabel dengan α = 5% sebesar 2,571, menghasilkan Ho ditolak dan µB< 0. Maka hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa pada tahap uji coba produk pada kelompok kecil terdapat perbedaan pada hasil pretest dan posttest  pembelajaran PPKn materi hak, kewajiban, dan tanggung jawab sebagai masyarakat dengan menggunakan media audio visual. Selanjutnya uji N-gain memperoleh nilai sebesar 0,71 dengan kriteria tinggi. Media audio visual sangat layak dan efektif untuk digunakan dalam pembelajaran PPKn materi hak, kewajiban, dan tanggung jawab sebagai masyarakat siswa kelas V SDN Betokan 3 Demak.

Abstract

This study at develop designs, determine the viability and effectiveness of video tutorial media as a medium for learning two- and three-dimensional arts for the second grade students at Bebengan 3 Elementary School. The type of this research was Research and Development with a development model by Sugiyono. The data collection techniques used tests, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. Based on the evaluation by the content expert validator, it was declared very viable with a percentage of 92.5%, and the media expert's assessment with a percentage of 94.23% with very viable criteria. The results of the small group t test used paired sample t-test obtained tcount of -8, 437 and t table with️= 5% which is equal to 2.571, so that Ho was rejected and B 0. The N-Gain test obtained a score of 0.67 with medium criteria. The conclusion from this research is that the video tutorial media was very viable and effective to be used in arts and culture subject of two and three dimensional artstopic in the second grade at Bebengan 3 Elementary School.Keywords: Art and Culture, Learning Media, Video Tutorials
