Abstract

Hybrid corn cultivated on Ultisol performs high production when organic matter and liming are incorporated into the soil under high application of fertilizer. This agricultural practice resulted in high cost production. A series of researches with the goal to produce high yielding of hybrid corn under low input of fertilizer is going to be a benefit. Field experiment was conducted from April until July 2010 in Manna, South Bengkulu. Single factor consisted of 7 genotipes of corn was set using Randomized Complete Block Design. The seven genotypes were marked as H1, H2, H3, H4, H5, H6 (Prima), and H7 (DK); the last two of which were commercial varieties commonly grown by farmers. The genotypes that showed good adaptation on Ultisol were H1, H2, and H3. These genotypes yielded 5.11 tons ha-1 for H1, 5.56 tons ha-1 for H2, and 5.64 tons ha-1 which were higher than commercial varieties (4.46 tons ha-1 for Prima and 4.62 tons ha-1 for DK). Plant height for H1, H2, and H3 were 1.78 m, 1.80 m, and 1.88 m respectively, while plat height of Prima and DK were 1.45 m and 1.51 m.

Abstract

The current era is marked by a concerning trend of moral degradation among the younger generation. This current study aims to describe and explain the cultural values embedded in Ponorogo's folklore and examine the relevance of this folklore as teaching materials for strengthening the Pancasila Student Profile. The researchers employed a qualitative research method. To collect information, the researchers used primary and secondary sources related to the folklore of Ponorogo. Data analysis followed Miles and Huberman's interactive model, which involved data reduction, display, verification, and interpretation to draw meaningful conclusions. Triangulation was used to ensure data trustworthiness. The study results revealed that the cultural values based on local wisdom/folklore embedded in Ponorogo include religious, mutual help, morals, customs, and historical values. Furthermore, the relevance between the folklore of Ponorogo and local wisdom values can be utilized as learning materials in elementary schools. As a result, it can strengthen the Pancasila student profile, enabling students to develop critical thinking, independence, intelligence, moral character, cultural awareness, and nobility from an early age.

Abstract

High employee performance can increase productivity, efficiency, and work quality. In addition, employees who perform well can also create a positive work environment, foster work enthusiasm, and increase customer satisfaction. The purpose of this study is to analyze the improvement of employee performance using work discipline mediation. This study was conducted on employees of a cleaning service and gardening company in West Jakarta, with a sample of 50 employees. The data analysis method in this study was quantitative, using the Partial Least Square (PLS) analysis tool. The results of the study showed that online attendance did not have a significant effect on employee performance. On the other hand, compensation had a positive and significant effect on employee performance. Furthermore, both online attendance and compensation were found to have a positive and significant effect on work discipline. What is interesting is that work discipline succeeded in becoming a mediator of the effect of online attendance on employee performance, but failed as a mediator of the effect of compensation on employee performance. These findings emphasize the importance of effective compensation management and the role of work discipline in facilitating the effect of online attendance on performance. Overall, the results of this study provide new insights for managers and Human Resources (HR) professionals in planning strategies to improve employee performance through compensation management and work discipline.

Abstract

Produk Gula semut aren organik (GSAO) merupakan komoditi yang sangat diminati dipasar nasional dan insternasional. Pengembangan teknologi pengering sangat diperlukan untuk mendapatkan kualitas GSAO yang dapat memenuhi standar pasar. Mesin pengering jenis rak yang dimiliki mitra kelompok tani jati rejo-1 (KTJR-1) belum memenuhi standar teknis pengering. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PKM) bertujuan penerapan ilmu dan ahli teknologi dalam pengembangan teknologi pengeringan rotary drying machine (RDM) untuk meningkatkan kuantitas dan kualitas produk GSAO. Metode pelaksanaan PKM mencakup survei, observasi, pelatihan dan pendampingan, serta analisis mesin pengering jenis rak yang ada di mitra. Hasil rancangan mesin dan perpindahan panas dapat dijadikan dasar oleh mitra dalam fabrikasi sebuah mesin pengering dengan menerapkan prinsip perpindahan panas yang effisien untuk meningkatkan kualitas dan efisiensi produksi GSAO.

Abstract

Penyakit Tuberculosis (TB) merupakan penyakit infeksi menular yang masih tetap menjadi masalah kesehatan di dunia. Menurut WHO estimasi incidence Rate untuk pemeriksaan dahak didapatkan BTA positif adalah 115 per 100.000. Tuberkolosis menduduki rangking ke tiga sebagai penyebab kematian setelah penyakit sistem sirkulasi dan sistim pernapasan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan gambaran tentang pengetahuan dan sikap masyarakat dalam upaya pencegahan Tuberkolosis di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Batua Kota Makassar. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan survey deskriptif dengan pendekatan observasional. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah semua pasien yang berobat jalan dan bertempat tinggal di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Batua dengan sampel 52 responden,sampel diperoleh dari sebagian pasien yang berobat jalan di Wilayah kerja puskesmas Batua Kota Makassar yang bekunjung ke puskesmas tersebut yang bersedia diwawancarai dengan menggunakan kuesioner yang terpilih secara convenience sampling. Berdasarkan hasil yang di peroleh dari penelitian tentang pengetahuan dari 52 responden yang memiliki pengetahuan baik terdapat 36 responden (69,23%) dan yang memiliki pengetahuan kurang terdapat 16 responden (30,77%) sedangkan Sikap dari 52 responden yang memiliki sikap positif terdapat 36 responden (69,23 %) dan sikap negative terdapat 16 responden (30,77%) Hal ini menunjukan bahwa pengetahuan masyarakat di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Batua sebagian masih kurang terhadap upaya pencegahan Tuberculosis akan tetapi dengan pengetahuan yang ada tidak mempengaruhi sikap masyarakat dalam upaya pencegahan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian maka disarankan perlu ditingkatkan lagi penyuluhan yang lebih intensif dalam rangka menggerakkan masyarakat dalam upaya pencegahan Tuberculosis.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of variables (1) teacher work discipline on teacher commitment, (2) teacher loyalty to teacher commitment, (3) teacher work discipline and teacher work discipline and teacher loyalty together with teacher commitment. The research respondents were State Elementary School teachers in Tanjung Medan District, Rokan Hilir Regency, totaling 118 people with a sample of 91. The data was collected through questionnaires as a research instrument. The data analysis used is descriptive analysis and inferential statistical analysis. The instrument reliability coefficient was calculated using the Cronbach alpha formula. The results showed that there was a positive and significant effect of teacher work discipline on teacher commitment of 0.470, and there was a positive and significant effect of teacher loyalty on teacher commitment of 0.555. Meanwhile, together there is an effect of teacher discipline and teacher loyalty on teacher commitment of 0.477

Abstract

C4.5 is a decision tree algorithm that can be used for making predictions. The stages start from forming a decision tree through splitting attributes, pruning and extracting rules or knowledge to then be used for prediction. However, one of the weaknesses of the C4.5 algorithm is the occurrence of overfitting and misclassification costs which result in low prediction performance. The development of the C4.5 algorithm has been carried out in terms of split attributes such as the imprecise info-gain ratio (Credal-C4.5) method using Imprecise Probability Theory, bossing gain ratio (C5.0) and average gain. This research applies the termination coefficient value (R2) as a method for modifying the gain ratio in selecting attributes as decision tree nodes which is then implemented to predict student graduation on time using a case study at the Universitas Islam Madura (UIM). Testing of the decision tree model rule for predicting student graduation on time at UIM shows that the performance values of accuracy, precision and recall are 70.49%, 77.14% and 72.97%. This performance is higher compared to the C4.5 algorithm without making modifications to the coefficient of determination, especially in accuracy and recall performance, while the precision is lower but the difference is below 1%. The difference in performance values was 11.48% (positive) for accuracy and 27.03% (positive) for recall. Meanwhile, precision performance has a difference of -0.13% (negative). The application of the Knowledge Model Rule for student graduation on time at SIMAT UIM shows very good results because it displays a prediction results page.

Abstract

Objectives: This study aims to analyze the impact of green training and green compensation and rewards on employee performance through employee engagement in a paint manufacturing company in Tangerang. Methodology: Using a quantitative survey approach, 130 respondents were selected via probability sampling. Data analysis was conducted with Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) using Partial Least Square (PLS) software. Finding: The results indicate that green training and green compensation and rewards have a positive and significant impact on employee engagement. However, green training and green compensation and rewards do not have a significant direct effect on employee performance. Employee engagement has a positive and significant effect on employee performance and fully mediates the relationship between green training and employee performance, as well as between green compensation and rewards and employee performance. Conclusion: Green HRM practices such as green training and green compensation and rewards can effectively enhance employee performance when mediated by employee engagement. This highlights the importance of fostering employee engagement as a critical link between Green HRM initiatives and performance outcomes.

Abstract

This study's goal is to maximize the soil's iron revocation process by exploiting the CCD (Central Composite Design) and RSM (Response Surface Method) experimental designs. Kendari, Kolaka, and Southeast Sulawesi are the laterite rocks used in this study. XRF testing is used to identify the mineral components contained in laterite rocks. The iron content of the laterite rocks is 68.90% according to XRF analysis, and the remaining metal content needs to be separated by leaching. Variations in the S/L ratio, leaching time, and leaching temperature were used in the leaching process, and these changes had an impact on the amount of extracted iron. Atomic Absorbtion Spectroscopy (AAS) is used to assess the leaching process results and quantify the iron concentration. Using CCD-RSM to optimize process settings, ideal conditions are achieved at a 1:1 S/L ratio, a 90-minute leaching period, 80°C, and a 19.20% iron extraction concentration. As a result, this study not only increases the iron's efficiency but also offers a technique that may be used to extract additional metals from lateritic rocks or comparable materials.

Abstract

Teacher talk is crucial for classroom engagement since it helps students better understand the topic and motivates them to participate actively in learning. Based on the framework of the Flanders Interaction Analysis Category System (FIACS) created by Flanders, this qualitative study seeks to assess the forms of talks used by the teacher in classroom interaction. The objective of this study is to analyze the types and frequency of teacher talk in an English classroom and to examine how these interactions influence student participation. The researcher used audio recordings, observation for two class meetings, and an interview with the teacher in the 10th grade of a senior high school in Semarang, Central Java, Indonesia, to gather the data. The topic of the teaching material was narrative. The teacher used Android as the media in teaching English. The findings indicated that all seven categories of teacher discussion were present. Giving instructions came first among the most used (38.53). It is followed by asking questions with 30 instances (27.52%), encouraging or praising with 11 instances (10.1%), lecturing with 13 instances (11.92%), criticizing or defending authority with five instances (4.6%), accepting or using the ideas of students with six instances (5.50%), and accepting feelings (1.83). The low response from the students caused the domination by the teacher.
