Abstract

This study aims to examine the contribution of the principal in implementing the adiwiyata program at SDN Sungai Taib, through an in-depth exploration of the principal's leadership role in creating an innovative and collaborative learning environment. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data analysis using NVivo software. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. The research participants included the principal, the vice principal, and several teachers. The research results show that the principal's leadership significantly contributes to the successful implementation of the adiwiyata program by creating a learning environment that supports innovation and creativity. The principal also managed to overcome resistance to change and resource limitations through effective and communicative leadership strategies. In conclusion, the principal's contribution to implementing the adiwiyata program at SDN Sungai Taib is highly significant. Through visionary and inclusive leadership, the principal successfully transformed SDN Sungai Taib into a National Adiwiyata School.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the principal's leadership at PKBM Merah Putih Kotabaru in building a positive work culture and its impact on teacher performance. The objectives are to identify the role of the principal in fostering a positive work culture, the leadership styles applied, and the impact of this culture on teacher performance. A qualitative approach was used, focusing on a case study to deeply explore leadership practices at PKBM Merah Putih Kotabaru. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and observations involving the principal, teaching staff, and students, with analysis conducted using NVivo 14 software. The results indicate that the principal's inclusive leadership style, characterized by appreciation, active listening, a clear vision, and team development focus, effectively creates a positive work culture. This culture fosters a conducive and motivating work environment. Respondents highlighted the importance of clear communication, open discussions, and continuous development efforts by the principal. The study concludes that effective leadership significantly contributes to building a positive work environment, enhancing teacher performance, and improving the overall quality of education at PKBM Merah Putih Kotabaru.

Abstract

In the era of rapid educational transformation, school leadership plays a crucial role in fostering innovation and adaptability. This study explores the role of Agile Leadership in driving learning innovation at SMAN 1 Kelumpang Hilir. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis. Data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman model, consisting of data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing to ensure comprehensive findings. The results indicate that implementing adaptive, collaborative, and flexible Agile Leadership fosters an innovative learning environment. School leaders who adopt these principles enhance teacher and student engagement in project-based learning and digital technology integration. Key aspects of Agile Leadership include decision-making flexibility, stakeholder collaboration, and curriculum innovation. Additionally, Agile Leadership promotes continuous feedback and data-driven decision-making, enabling schools to swiftly adapt to policy changes and student needs. This study provides practical insights for school leaders to integrate Agile Leadership into educational management, ensuring adaptability and sustainability in a dynamic learning environment.

Abstract

The implementation of an effective quality management system is essential in improving the quality of education in high school. This study aims to illustrate the implementation of the Total Quality Management (TQM) model in supporting the work quality culture at SMAN 1 Kelumpang Utara. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. In-depth interviews, participant observations, and documentation were carried out on the principal, 15 teachers, 3 staff, 1 head of sub-division, and 15 students. The data was analyzed using the Miles and Huberman Models, which include data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and verification. The findings show that TQM has been implemented at SMAN 1 Kelumpang Utara with an emphasis on creating consistency of goals, improving the quality of graduates and services, improving the quality and productivity of school stakeholders, leadership in education, eliminating fear and obstacles to success, creating a culture of quality, process improvement, helping students succeed, commitment, and responsibility. However, there are still obstacles in the total involvement of all school members and continuous improvement. A TQM implementation model is necessary to support a quality work culture that involves staff engagement, leadership, partnerships, reward systems, and organizational quality. These components must be based on a system of values, norms, and culture formulated in a vision, mission, and goals that are understood by all members of the organization.

Abstract

The transformation of education in the digital era demands rapid adaptation from teachers, both in pedagogical practices and professional performance. In this context, transformational leadership and organizational culture play a vital role in enhancing teacher performance. This article aims to analyze the relationship between transformational leadership and organizational culture in improving teacher performance within digital-based educational environments. Using a literature review approach, this study synthesizes findings from relevant research published over the past five years. The analysis reveals that transformational leadership contributes to fostering work motivation, individual development, and teachers’ readiness to embrace technological change. Concurrently, an inclusive and innovative organizational culture strengthens collaborative spirit and workplace stability. Furthermore, the study finds a synergistic relationship between transformational leadership and organizational culture that collectively supports improved teacher performance. These findings suggest that enhancing the quality of digital education requires an integrated strategy that aligns leadership practices with the development of an adaptive organizational culture. The study recommends systematic implementation of transformational leadership and reinforcement of adaptive organizational values in schools.

Abstract

This study investigates the management of Islamic-integrated curricula within Indonesian early childhood education, focusing on two institutions in Banjarmasin: PAUD IT Ukhuwah and PAUD Tahfidz Ummul Qura. It addresses a limited understanding of how religious values are operationalized through curriculum management. Employing a qualitative case study approach, data were gathered from 11 in-depth interviews with teachers, principals, and parents, supplemented by classroom observations and document analysis. The results demonstrate two distinct pedagogical models. PAUD IT Ukhuwah implements a thematic-integrative model, connecting Quranic verses to weekly themes for holistic learning. PAUD Tahfidz Ummul Qura focuses on a memorization-based approach, incorporating daily tahfidz sessions supported by individualized student coaching. Both institutions facilitate teacher empowerment through structured training and religious mentoring. Furthermore, each employs systematic monitoring and evaluation frameworks that comply with national early childhood education standards. The study highlights the significance of comprehensive curriculum management for nurturing spiritual and moral development in young children. By detailing these context-specific practices, this research contributes to international discussions on faith-based education. It provides practical insights for policymakers and educators, including recommendations to scale effective teacher training models for religious pedagogy, adapt integrative thematic frameworks for value-based education, and develop national guidelines for monitoring and evaluating religious-based ECE programs.

Abstract

Kurikulum Merdeka merupakan program dari Kementerian Pendidikan yang memberi keleluasaan kepada sekolah untuk mengatur pembelajaran sesuai dengan kebutuhan peserta didik dan kondisi lingkungan setempat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana peran orang tua dan keterbatasan alat peraga memengaruhi implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka di SDN Mawar 4. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara dengan kepala sekolah di SDN Mawar 4 dan dianalisis secara mendalam. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa orang tua masih belum sepenuhnya memahami tujuan dari Kurikulum Merdeka, terutama bahwa keberhasilan peserta didik tidak hanya dilihat dari nilai, tetapi juga dari sikap, karakter, dan keterampilan peserta didik. Peran serta orang tua yang kurang aktif menjadi tantangan tersendiri dalam mendukung proses pembelajaran. Selain itu, keterbatasan alat peraga juga menjadi hambatan dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar, meskipun guru telah berupaya mengatasinya dengan menggunakan media digital seperti video pembelajaran dan sumber daya yang tersedia. Meskipun menghadapi berbagai tantangan, guru dan sekolah tetap berusaha menjalankan Kurikulum Merdeka dengan menyesuaikan kondisi dan kemampuan yang ada, serta terus berupaya meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran secara bertahap.

Abstract

Urgensi penelitian ini terletak pada pentingnya manajemen kurikulum yang adaptif guna menghadapi tantangan global dan memastikan kualitas pendidikan yang relevan dengan perkembangan zaman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengembangan kurikulum di SDN 2 Selat Tengah dan SDN 3 Selat Hilir, serta strategi monitoring dan evaluasi (monev) implementasi kurikulum di kedua sekolah tersebut.Pendekatan penelitian ini menggunakan metodse kualitatif dengan rancangan studi multi situs. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan analisis dokumen. Proses analisis data mengikuti model Miles, Huberman, dan Saldana yang mencakup pengumpulan data, kondensasi data, penyajian data, serta penarikan dan verifikasi kesimpulan. Keabsahan data dikumpulkan melalui uji kredibilitas, transferabilitas, dependabilitas, dan konfirmabilitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perencanaan kurikulum dilakukan dengan mengidentifikasi kebutuhan siswa, memanfaatkan potensi lokal, serta melibatkan masyarakat. Pengembangan kurikulum dirancang secara kolaboratif, mengutamakan inovasi berbasis proyek, pemanfaatan teknologi, dan penyusunan modul ajar yang relevan. Monitoring dan evaluasi dilaksanakan melalui observasi, analisis hasil belajar siswa, dan umpan balik berbagai pihak untuk memastikan implementasi kurikulum tetap selaras dengan visi dan misi sekolah.Manajemen kurikulum di kedua sekolah tersebut dilakukan secara kolaboratif dengan melibatkan kepala sekolah, guru, orang tua, dan komite sekolah untuk memenuhi kebutuhan siswa dan memanfaatkan potensi lokal. Monitoring dan evaluasi rutin berperan penting dalam memperbaiki implementasi kurikulum dan meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan. Kepala sekolah diharapkan terus mendukung kolaborasi, guru meningkatkan kompetensi melalui pelatihan, dan orang tua lebih aktif dalam mendukung perencanaan serta evaluasi kurikulum. Penelitian selanjutnya dapat memperluas cakupan dengan melibatkan lebih banyak sekolah untuk mengeksplorasi tantangan dan keberhasilan implementasi kurikulum.

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of deep learning-based geometry instruction using miniature roof construction in improving students’ understanding of angles. A quasi-experimental design was conducted at SMPN 1 Kotabaru with 64 seventh-grade students divided into experimental and control groups. The experimental group participated in eight sessions of project-based learning that integrated contextual modeling and collaborative exploration, while the control group received conventional textbook-based instruction. Students’ comprehension of angle concepts including classification, measurement, and application was assessed using a validated geometry test and structured reflection journals. The results showed that students in the experimental group demonstrated significantly greater improvement in angle understanding compared to the control group. Statistical analysis confirmed the effectiveness of the intervention, with a large performance gap favoring the experimental group. These findings suggest that deep learning strategies, when combined with hands-on modeling and contextual relevance, can substantially enhance conceptual mastery in geometry education.

Abstract

Efforts to achieve quality and effective early childhood education continue to demand focused attention, particularly in regions with limited resources. This qualitative study examines effective early childhood education institutions from an educational management perspective, utilizing a descriptive case study design involving three schools in South Kalimantan, Indonesia. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis, and analyzed using Miles and Huberman's interactive model with triangulation to ensure credibility. The study explores three central aspects: the role of principals’ leadership in cultivating effective school culture, strategies for managing learning environments, and the implementation of quality assurance systems. Findings indicate that effective early childhood education institutions are distinguished by transformational leadership practices adapted to local contexts, incorporating idealized influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individualized consideration. Holistic learning environment management includes the use of learning centers, positive discipline, strategic physical space organization, efficient time management, creative resource utilization, and the promotion of a supportive socio-emotional climate. Additionally, robust quality assurance is achieved through the application of Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycles, authentic assessment, detailed documentation, and collaborative stakeholder engagement. The study concludes that the effectiveness of early childhood education institutions is driven not by material wealth or location but by the synergy of adaptive leadership, child-centered learning environment management, and participatory quality assurance mechanisms. These findings offer practical insights for policymakers and educators seeking to strengthen early childhood education in diverse and resource-limited contexts.
