Abstract

Agriculture is a significant contributor to global warming, primarily due to the release of greenhouse gases like methane (CH4) and nitrous oxide (N2O). These gases have a much higher global warming potential than carbon dioxide (CO2), necessitating targeted strategies for their reporting and reduction. This study applies machine learning models, specifically XGBoost and Support Vector Machine (SVM), to evaluate how technological advancements in agriculture influence greenhouse gas emissions. The dataset used includes emission data from various crops and farming technologies. Findings reveal that certain crops considerably elevate emissions, and in some cases, new technologies exacerbate the issue. XGBoost achieved 99.6% accuracy in predicting emission mitigation, proving its effectiveness in developing climate change mitigation plans for agriculture. Support Vector Machine also performed well, with an accuracy of 99.5%. This research underscores the need for precise approaches in managing greenhouse gas emissions through technology-driven policies.

Abstract

Abstract

Maena Dance is a traditional dance of the Nias people which means togetherness, unity and joy, often performed at weddings. This research aims to analyze the development of Maena Dance performances at wedding parties in Duria Village in 1998–2024, as well as efforts to preserve it. This research uses historical methods with heuristic stages, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography. Data was collected through literature study, observation, and direct interviews with local communities. The research results show that Maena Dance has experienced significant changes in aspects of dancers, music, costumes and poetry. The intensity of this dance performance is influenced by social, economic and cultural factors of the Duria Village community. Economic limitations are the main obstacle in its implementation, especially among people with low incomes. However, revitalization efforts, such as training through art studios and government support, have succeeded in keeping this tradition alive. The conclusion of this research is that the Maena Dance remains an important symbol in wedding parties in Duria Village, reflecting the community's adaptation to changing times while maintaining core cultural values. This research provides insight into the importance of preserving local culture as part of community identity.

Abstract

During the 2019 Legislative Election, the community living on the Kampar Regency-Pekanbaru City border showed low political participation, especially in legislative elections. Normatively, residents of this border area should have been able to vote for representatives in the Kampar Regency DPRD, but many could not due to lacking Kampar Regency ID cards. This study aims to describe community participation during the 2019 Legislative Election in this border area and the efforts made by the KPU to increase participation. Using a qualitative approach, the study found that community participation was generally apathetic. Many residents were not registered in the Permanent Voter List (DPT) as they neglected to update their ID cards. Efforts to enhance participation included free population administration services facilitated by village governments. Key stakeholders—village heads, the Kampar Regency KPU, the District Election Committee, and political actors—played roles in these efforts, with village heads proving the most influential in encouraging participation. Most residents in the border area are migrants living in housing complexes or apartments, with their population administration still linked to their original hometowns. Despite these challenges, the measures taken aimed to ensure greater inclusion in the electoral process, emphasizing the importance of administrative reforms to support democratic participation in the region.

Abstract

Existentialism emphasizes the uniqueness of individuals and the importance of personal choice and responsibility. It encourages individuals to seek meaning and purpose in their lives, and to grapple with the difficult questions of existence. By applying existentialist philosophy to Islamic education, students can be empowered to take responsibility for their own learning and to engage with the deeper questions of life and spirituality. This paper examines the implications of applying existentialist philosophy to Islamic education, including the role of the teacher as a facilitator and guide rather than a strict authority figure, the importance of experiential learning and self-discovery, and the need to provide opportunities for students to explore and question their beliefs and values. The research method used in this study is literature review. This research will conduct a search and analysis of literature sources related to the application of existentialist philosophy in the development of Islamic education. The literature sources that will be used include books, scientific journals, articles, and official documents related to Islamic education and existentialist philosophy. The process of searching literature sources will be carried out using several online databases such as Google Scholar, JSTOR, ProQuest, and EBSCO. After the literature sources are found, the selection process will be carried out by identifying the relevance, credibility, and quality of the literature sources that will be used in this research. Research result, bringing depth to Islamic education through the application of existentialist philosophy can help students develop a stronger sense of identity, purpose, and meaning in their lives. It can also help students to better understand and appreciate the complexities and diversity of the Islamic tradition, and to engage with the world around them in a more meaningful and productive way.

Abstract

This study investigates the interrelationships among various latent variables and theirobserved indicators using a structural equation model (SEM). The findings reveal that sharing, shopping, and real-time updating activities positively impact job-related outcomes, suggestingthat moderate engagement in these activities can mitigate employee disengagement.Conversely, accessing online content shows a slight negative influence on job performance, highlighting the potential detriments of cyberloafing. The study also underscores thesignificant positive impact of organizational support and supervisory evaluations on jobperformance. Integrating theories of cyberloafing and employee disengagement, the resultssuggest that fostering a supportive work environment and allowing for healthy, non-workrelated activities can enhance job satisfaction and reduce counterproductive behaviors. Theimplications of these findings are critical for designing interventions and policies that promotepositive engagement and minimize the risks associated with cyberloafing, ultimately enhancingoverall employee performance and satisfaction.
