Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze whether variables such as Current Ratio, Debt to Equity Ratio and Company Size have a partial or simultaneous influence on Return On Equity. The approach taken in this study is an associative approach. The population in this study were all Agriculture Subsector Companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) which numbered 14 companies, while the samples that met the criteria in sampling for this study were 6 Agricultural Subsector Companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). Analysis of sample data used in this study is Multiple Linear Regression. The results of the study show that partially Current Ratio has no significant effect on Return On Equity, Debt to Equity Ratio has no significant effect on Return On Equity and Firm Size does not have a significant effect on Return On Equity. Simultaneous Results show that Current Ratio, Debt to Equity Ratio and Company Size have no significant effect on Return On Equity.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of Corporate Governance as a mediating variable in the relationship between Group Affiliation, Asset Quality Index, and Profit Performance in palm oil agribusiness sub-sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The study applies an explanatory quantitative approach using secondary data from annual reports and financial statements for the 2020-2024 period. The sample was selected through purposive sampling and consisted of 20 companies with 100 firm-year observations. Profit Performance is measured by Return on Assets (ROA), Group Affiliation is measured using a dummy variable, Asset Quality Index is calculated from the proportion of non-current assets to total assets, and Corporate Governance is proxied by the proportion of independent commissioners. The results show that Group Affiliation and Asset Quality Index have positive and significant effects on Corporate Governance at the 10% level. Group Affiliation has a negative and significant effect on ROA, while Asset Quality Index and Corporate Governance do not significantly affect ROA. The Sobel test indicates that Corporate Governance does not mediate the effects of Group Affiliation or Asset Quality Index on Profit Performance. These findings demonstrate that group affiliation does not automatically improve profitability when agency costs, related-party transactions, coordination burdens, and asset inefficiency outweigh the benefits of group synergy.

Abstract

Perairan pesisir tropis berfungsi sebagai reservoir alami bakteri oportunistik, termasuk Vibrio spp., yang berpotensi memengaruhi kesehatan manusia dan keberlanjutan akuakultur. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi distribusi ekologis dan profil kepekaan antibiotik Vibrio spp. pada zona wisata dan budidaya di Pantai Anom, Kabupaten Tangerang. Desain penelitian deskriptif eksploratif dilakukan dengan pengambilan sampel air dan sedimen dari empat lokasi representatif: air laut, sedimen pantai, air tambak, dan sedimen tambak. Isolasi dilakukan melalui pengayaan dalam Alkaline Peptone Water dan kultur pada media Thiosulfate Citrate Bile Sucrose, dilanjutkan dengan identifikasi morfologi, pewarnaan Gram, uji hemolisis, dan uji biokimia konvensional. Uji kepekaan antibiotik dilakukan menggunakan metode difusi cakram terhadap siprofloksasin (5 µg), sulfametoksazol-trimetoprim (1,25/23,75 µg), dan kloramfenikol (30 µg) sesuai pedoman CLSI. Lima isolat dengan karakteristik menyerupai Vibrio fischeri, Vibrio ordalii, dan Vibrio natriegens teridentifikasi, dan seluruhnya menunjukkan kategori sensitif terhadap antibiotik uji. Hasil ini menyediakan data dasar surveilans lingkungan dalam kerangka One Health.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the high dependence of farmers on inorganic fertilizers, which may reduce soil fertility, and the underutilization of organic wastes such as goat urine, pineapple peels, and banana peels as liquid organic fertilizer (LOF). The objectives of this study were to analyze the effect of LOF derived from goat urine, pineapple peels, and banana peels on the growth and yield of watermelon (Citrullus lanatus), determine the optimum application rate, and evaluate farmers' acceptance and adoption of the technology. The study was conducted from March to May 2026 in Sei Bamban District, Serdang Bedagai Regency, using a non-factorial Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) consisting of five treatments and five replications. The treatments were P0 (control), P1 (50 ml + 20 ml), P2 (100 ml + 35 ml), P3 (150 ml + 50 ml), and P4 (200 ml + 65 ml). Observed variables included vine length, number of leaves, flowering age, fruit weight, fruit length, and fruit diameter at harvest (55 days after planting). Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) followed by Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at the 5% significance level, while extension effectiveness was evaluated through pre-test and post-test assessments. The results indicated that the application of liquid organic fertilizer significantly affected all growth and yield parameters of watermelon. Treatment P4 produced the best vegetative growth and yield compared with the other treatments. Extension activities also improved farmers' knowledge, attitudes, and adoption of the technology. Therefore, liquid organic fertilizer derived from goat urine, pineapple peels, and banana peels has the potential to serve as an effective, environmentally friendly, and sustainable alternative fertilizer for watermelon cultivation. Abstract

This research was conducted to examine the association between arm muscle strength and waist flexibility with shooting performance in the women’s indoor hockey team of Bandar Lampung City. A descriptive correlational design was employed in this study. The sample consisted of 30 participants. Data collection instruments included a push and pull dynamometer, standing stroke test, and indoor hockey shooting test. The research hypotheses were: (1) there is a relationship between arm muscle strength and shooting performance, (2) there is a relationship between waist flexibility and shooting performance, and (3) arm muscle strength and waist flexibility jointly relate to shooting outcomes. The findings revealed that: (1) arm muscle strength had a significant correlation with shooting performance (r = 0.486 > r table = 0.374), (2) waist flexibility was also significantly correlated with shooting performance (r = 0.410 > r table = 0.374), and (3) simultaneously, arm muscle strength and waist flexibility showed a significant combined relationship with shooting performance (r = 0.538 > r table = 0.374), contributing 29.01%.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to determine the impact of Ghana's Integrated Financial Management Information System's (GIFMIS) ability on the financial accountability and transparency of MMDAs. The research utilized quantitative and Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) regression analysis to investigate the impact of government policies, organizational culture, resource availability, technical infrastructure, user acceptance, and training on the performance of GIFMIS. The research found that technological infrastructure, resource availability, organizational culture, and government policies positively influenced financial transparency and accountability. Conversely, user acceptance and training have a detrimental impact on system efficacy. The data indicates that decentralization moderates these associations, leading to a significant reduction in the beneficial effects of the independent variables. Practical consequences include improving user training and harmonizing financial management techniques across decentralized governance institutions. Theoretical implications suggest the need to reinforce government policies and resources to ensure transparency. This research is beneficial in that it illuminates the necessity of balanced supervision and how decentralization complicates the adoption of financial management systems. This research stands out as it delves into the performance characteristics of GIFMIS within a decentralized governance system, unprecedented as it demonstrated the impact of decentralization on the relationship between organizational culture, technological infrastructure, government regulations, and financial accountability and transparency, in contrast to prior research that has focused on centralized systems.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of board independence on the relationship between board gender diversity and financial stability in emerging African countries. A causal research design is employed, using data from 190 listed firms in nine emerging African economies covering 2012 to 2022. The study utilizes the two-step dynamic generalized moment method for data analysis. The findings reveal a significant relationship between board independence, financial stability, and gender diversity. The study underscores the importance of having a gender-inclusive board composition to enhance the resilience of companies operating in Africa. It also emphasizes the significance of board independence and effective board operations in promoting financial stability. The theory and practical implications are provided for policymakers and firm managers to enhance the financial stability of firms in emerging African economies. The study examines the combined relationship between board independence and gender diversity, highlighting the benefits of fostering independent and inclusive governance structures. The study contributes to academic discourse and establishes a strategic plan to foster sustainable development and stability in the corporate sector of emerging economies.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the development of students' character at SD Swasta 118 Muhammadiyah Gunung Tua through Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning based on Islamic values. Islamic Religious Education plays a strategic role in instilling religious values from an early age, especially at the elementary school level. Through worship habituation strategies, teacher role modeling, contextual learning, and the integration of Islamic values into school culture, students' character can be comprehensively developed encompassing spiritual, moral, and social aspects. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach with research subjects including the principal, PAI teachers, and students. The results show that the implementation of Islamic values-based PAI learning has a positive impact on the formation of students' religious character, reflected in worship discipline, respectful attitudes, prayer habits, social care, and honest and responsible behavior. Supporting factors include a religious school environment, teacher-parent collaboration, and availability of religious facilities. Inhibiting factors are differences in family backgrounds and limited learning time.

Proficiency in speaking Arabic requires comprehension of the elements and rules of the language, including vocabulary acquisition, sentence structure, speech context, and the ability to understand the speaker's language. Vocabulary is a very important linguistic element that must be mastered, used in both spoken and written language. This issue leads to weaknesses in vocabulary comprehension and the presence of excuses for not speaking Arabic in certain situations. The methodology used in this research is a quantitative correlational method, and the data analysis technique employed is the statistical method using Pearson's product-moment correlation coefficient. The research results indicate that there is a moderate positive correlation between vocabulary comprehension and students' academic achievement in speaking skills for the first-grade students at the Abdullah bin Masoud Institute in Asahan, with a correlation coefficient value of 0.474.
