Abstract

The piezoelectric efficiency of Poly (vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) membranes becomes restricted by the challenge of generating and stabilizing electroactive β-phase during processing. Stretching requires control of deformation parameter, while solvent-based methods bring environmental and occupational health risks. This research suggests hot-pressing as an alternative method for enhancing β-phase fraction, utilizing multidirectional stress without solvent or chemical exposure. This study systematically compares uniaxial hot-pressing (Uniaxial HP) and biaxial hot-pressing (Biaxial HP) setups to determine which stress distribution is more effective at promoting changes and improving piezoelectric properties in PVDF membranes. The main objective of this research is to systematically evaluate and compare the impacts of uniaxial and biaxial hot-pressing on the crystalline phase transformation and electromechanical performance, including the piezoelectric coefficient (d33) and output voltage response of PVDF membranes. PVDF pellets were hot-pressed at 220o C under a pressure of 60 MPa for 15 minutes followed by rapid quenching in ice water. X-Ray diffraction (XRD) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) confirmed phase composition, correlated with performance via the piezoelectric coefficient (d33), and assessed piezoelectric activity. Experimental results show that biaxial loading provides a higher b-phase fraction (50.47%) compared to untreated membranes (47.80%) and UHP samples (49.30%). The crystallinity and the piezoelectric coefficient also increased to 49% and 18.8 pC/N, respectively. Biaxial stress pattern during hot-pressing induces favourable thermodynamic and kinetic conditions for b-phase expansion. Beyond phase-related results, the approach delivers competitive piezoelectric effectiveness while maintaining simplicity and reducing solvent-dependent processing steps.

Abstract

In this study, silica gel was successfully synthesized using waste from chemical reagent glass bottles. The synthesized silica gel was then tested for its effectiveness in adsorbing methyl violet 2B dye. To optimize the adsorption process, Surface Response Methodology (RSM) was employed, utilizing the Box-Behnken design (BBD) for factor and input design. Characterization of the synthesized silica gel through XRD analysis revealed an amorphous structure and mesoporous pores, with a purity of 75.63%. The optimization process focused on four key factors: pH (3 to 9), initial concentration of methyl violet 2B (10 to 30 mg/L), adsorbent mass (30 to 100 mg), and contact time (15 to 60 min). The optimal conditions for adsorbing methyl violet 2B were determined to be a pH range of 7–9, an initial methyl violet 2B concentration of 27–30 mg/L, an adsorbent mass of 70–95 mg, and a contact time of 30–40 min. Under these optimized conditions, the methyl violet 2B removal efficiency of 98.69% was achieved. Further analysis indicated that the adsorption of methyl violet 2B onto the synthesized silica gel followed the Temkin isotherm and pseudo-second-order kinetics models.

Abstract

Grouping bug reports into clusters can assist in verifying and validating bugs in the software development cycle. One of the clustering methods is Agglomerative Hierarchical Clustering (AHC). It relies on distance calculations to determine the degree of similarity between clusters. One of the distance calculations is the Jaccard coefficient. The Jaccard Coefficient method has the disadvantage that it only considers the same set of words between two documents but does not consider their importance. Previous research added Inverse Document Frequency (IDF) algorithm to the Jaccard coefficient to calculate the importance of word groups and in this research is referred to the weighted Jaccard coefficient. Clustering is carried out using a combination of AHC and that coefficient. The silhouette score is then compared with the silhouette score of AHC with the Jaccard coefficient. Results indicate that increasing term complexity reduces cluster quality, with silhouette scores dropping from 13.13% (bigram) to 0.45% (4-gram). Furthermore, many clusters exhibited negative silhouette scores, highlighting the difficulty of separating high-dimensional bug data using unsupervised methods. In contrast, the supervised classification baseline achieved significantly higher accuracy. This paper contributes a critical analysis demonstrating that while Weighted Jaccard captures semantic nuance, unsupervised clustering remains insufficient for this domain compared to supervised approaches.

Abstract

This study aims to synthesize empirical evidence on how Work–Life Balance (WLB) and Perceived Organizational Support (POS) sustain work engagement through mental well-being as a mediating mechanism. Following PRISMA 2020, a Boolean search across Scopus yielded 1,339 records; after systematic screening, 165 peer-reviewed articles (2020–2026) were included. Analysis reveals three key findings: (1) mental well-being is predominantly operationalized through deficit indicators (burnout, stress) rather than positive capacities (resilience, flourishing); (2) cross-sectional designs dominate, undermining temporal validity of "sustainability" claims; and (3) the JD-R framework prevails, yet cross-theoretical integration with COR and SET remains largely narrative. The novelty of this research lies in the integration of mental well-being typologies and methodological design patterns into a single explanatory synthesis regarding sustainable work engagement. These findings provide a foundation for evidence-based HRM interventions, longitudinal monitoring strategies, and policy alignment with SDGs 3 and 8, advancing understanding of work engagement as an organizational ecosystem phenomenon rather than a singular outcome.

Abstract

Although the issue of dishonorable dismissal (PTDH) of Civil Servants (PNS) due to corruption crimes has been widely studied, research that specifically discusses the normative conflict between Supreme Court Circular Letter (SEMA) Number 5 of 2021 and Government Regulation Number 79 of 2021 concerning ASN’s right to sue remains limited. This study aims to analyze the legality of restricting PNS’s right to sue through SEMA Number 5 of 2021 and to formulate the ideal concept of access to justice in the state administrative law system. This study used a normative legal method with statutory, conceptual, and case approaches. Data were obtained through a literature study of primary and secondary legal materials, then analyzed qualitatively using prescriptive techniques. The results showed that the restriction of the right to sue through SEMA Number 5 of 2021 has the potential to create normative conflict, legal uncertainty, and restrictions on access to justice because it is not aligned with the right to legal remedies guaranteed under Government Regulation Number 79 of 2021. The findings also showed that PTDH decisions based on corruption criminal court decisions can still be reviewed in the state administrative court as long as the object of review is limited to administrative aspects. The conclusion of this study affirms that restricting PNS’s right to sue through the SEMA instrument needs to be positioned carefully so as not to reduce guarantees of legal protection in the state administrative law system. These findings imply the importance of harmonizing regulations on civil service dispute resolution and strengthening the concept of access to justice for ASN in obtaining fair, certain, and proportional legal protection.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the procedure for rejecting inheritance rights and its legal consequences. Normative Juridical Research Method, secondary data sources, this type of research is library research, such as literature in books and scientific works, then analyzed qualitatively using normative juridical analysis methods. From the results of the research and discussion, it can be concluded that: First, the Inheritance Rejection Procedure, in civil law, the rejection of inheritance is carried out with a written statement / deed. After that, the deed of rejection of inheritance is submitted to the court, then the court will check the completeness of the files and the reasons for the rejection. If deemed to meet the requirements, the court will issue a decision regarding the validity or otherwise of the rejection. Second, the Consequences of Renouncing Inheritance, involve changes in the structure of asset distribution. When an heir renounces inheritance, the portion of assets that should have been received by them will be distributed to other heirs. Legal certainty in asset distribution becomes crucial to prevent disputes among heirs. Furthermore, renouncing inheritance can affect the rights and obligations of other heirs. When an heir renounces inheritance, other heirs may have to bear the obligations left by the inherited assets, such as debts. This can impose additional burdens on heirs who receive a larger portion of the inheritance due to such renunciation.
