Abstract

The study of the Koran is always evolving since it revealed. The emergence of the various books of commentary which is loaded with various methods and approaches, is clear evidence that efforts to interpret the Koran was never stopped, and that the Muslims intend to make it as a dialogue partner in life and to develop a civilization. In each period, interpretation has its own peculiarities and characteristics. Between one period to another can not be forced together. Related to the issue, this paper presents the mapping of classical interpretation studies whose focuses on ?the characteristics and uniqueness of this interpretation.? The interpretation of the Koran in classical period has not revealed in a specific form, both al-ma?thûr or al-ra?y. The interpretation process of this period is still common al-ma?thûr when it viewed in terms of sources and forms of interpretation. Commentators seem clearly given the interpretation together in one package, along with the people coaching personality, which related to faith, moral, and jurisprudence. The interpretation is applied integrally not partially, which included other fields, such as theology, jurisprudence, and mysticism. This method then indicates the other, called today by the ijmâlî

Abstract

Being grandparents is an important role and valued in the family in which family members have a certain view of the existence of grandparents in the family especially about what will be taught to their grandchildren. When grandchildren have disability, grandparents form a special expectation of themselves and grandchildren resulting on adjustment in the interaction process with grandchildren. This study aims to explore how the interaction between grandparents and grandchildren with disabilities can influence the formation of self-identity and the role of grandparents in the family. The study used a qualitative method, semi-structured interviews were conducted on 10 grandparents of children with intellectual and/or physical disabilities located in Semarang, Central Java, obtained through purposive sampling techniques. An Interpretative Phenomenology Analysis resulted in three main themes, namely: the formation of a grandfather's self-identity, the role of grandparents, and the assessment of the development of their grandchildren. The results highlight the important role of grandparents when a child has a disability, which illustrates that the grandparents' experience and role in the family vary, depending on the child's disability and the context of each family.

Abstract

The purposes of this research are: (1) to find out the effect of Alkali on the bending strength of human hair fibre composite. (2) to find out the time needed on the alkali treatment to reach an optimum bending strength on the human hair fibre composite. This research was conducted  in Material Laboratory of Engineering Faculty of Sebelas Maret University of Surakarta. The researcher used human hair fibre and polyester resin 157 BQTN which are added with MEXPO 1% catalyst as the main materials. Human hair fibre composite with variation of alkali treatment those are 0, 30, 60, 90 and 120 minutes was used as the research sample. The composite was made through press molding way with volume fraction ratio between matrix and filler in the amount of 60% : 40%. The composite was made based on ASTM D 790 standard. The results of this research show that alkali treatment give an effect on the bending strength of human hair fibre composite. Hair with longer alkali treatment shows higher bending strength. This is proven by the result of the research that shows the bending strengths without alkali treatment, within 30 minute of alkali treatment and within 60 minute of alkali treatment for each are 34,821 MPa; 38,012 MPa dan 43,679 MPa. Overlong alkali treatment (more than 60 minutes) will break the hair fibre thus it weakens the bending strength. This is proven by the result of the research that shows that the bending strength in 90 minute and 120 minute alkali treatment that is not higher than that reach 31,345 MPa dan 26,869 MPa. The conclution of this research are: (1) The longer of fibre alkali treatment is given, the stronger of bending strength of human hair fibre composite will be got. However, if alkali treatment is given too long (more than 60 minutes) it will decrease the bending strength of human hair fibre composite due to the damage of the hair. (2) The highest bending strength is reached when the alkali treatment up to 60 minutes that shows 43,679 MPa.

Abstract

This research tried to investigate the correlation between carbon emissions on poverty levels and the economic growth effect toward the level of poverty. This study utilizes secondary data-set time series from 2010 to 2016 across 34 provinces in Indonesia. The source of the data is from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) and German watch. The data estimation uses a panel regression by Fixed Effect Model and processed using E-views software version 8.0. The results of the study reveal that 1) effect of carbon emission is positive but not significant on poverty levels; 2) economic growth affects the poverty level positively significant. Thus, the economic development that results in pollution (i.e., industrialization, transportation) should more controlled and in line with sustainable development goals (SDGs). Therefore, there are needs for the government to put effort into designing and making policies related to decreasing emissions. Furthermore, the government should also involve all stakeholders to participate in contributing to economic-environmental friendly. They have to increase their awareness in carrying out the policies set by the government and paying more attention to the waste screening process.

Abstract

This research aims to understand the effect of risk aversion on the farmers’ willingness to pay (WTP) to mitigate on climate change and identify the relationship between climate change and agriculture sectors’ growth at Bengawan Solo Sub-Watershed in Upper Area. We use primary data obtained through interviews with 104 respondents, who are farmers from Sribit Village in Sragen Regency. The sampling techniques are purposive non-probability sampling. The data analysis using contingent valuation methods (CVM) and Multiple Linear Log Regression. Meanwhile, the secondary data obtained from The Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), World Bank, and Germanwatch is collected to identify the effect of climate change on the agricultural sector. This research result shows that risk aversion does not affect farmers’ WTP to do adaptation. The variable of land area, education, and input cost affect significantly (5%), while working experience also affect to WTP at 10% significance level. The implication of low-risk aversion implies farmers not aware of climate change. Risk reduction efforts will not be a priority for farmers because the advantages to adaptation is not worthy. The relationship between production levels and negative climate change scores confirms that climate change can reduce farmer production.
