Abstract

Social emotional development in early childhood aims to help children grow into emotionally healthy, socially resilient individuals, and contribute positively to society. The research focuses on the principal's policy strategy, the implementation of learning, the involvement of parents or the community, and the use of the environment as a learning resource in social-emotional development. The research design uses a descriptive qualitative approach, with a multi-site design with data collection through interviews, observations and documentation. The results of the research obtained on social-emotional development strategies in kindergarten 1) focus on character development, 2) Varied learning methods, adaptive strategies, and, regular evaluation and appropriate use of learning media, 3) Effective communication, active involvement of parents, and ensuring continuous learning programs at home, cooperation with external organizations and solutions to obstacles demonstrate their commitment to providing a holistic and supportive educational environment for children, 4) a supportive physical and natural environment, providing safe and enjoyable facilities and infrastructure, using various learning media to enrich children's learning experience. This holistic approach creates a learning environment that is conducive to the child's overall social and emotional development.

Abstract

This research investigates the role of instructional leadership in enhancing teacher professionalism at SMAN 13 Banjarmasin, a prominent high school in Indonesia. Amid significant educational transformations driven by the Ministry of Education and Culture's Strategic Plan (2015-2019), the study emphasizes the necessity of effective leadership in improving academic standards and student outcomes. Utilizing a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and document reviews to explore the dynamics between instructional leadership and teacher development. Findings reveal that the principal's proactive strategies, including fostering collaboration among teachers, implementing professional development programs, and adapting to challenges such as the shift to online learning during the pandemic, significantly contribute to enhancing educational quality. However, challenges persist, including issues related to teacher discipline and administrative documentation. The study concludes that effective instructional leadership is crucial for continuous improvement in educational quality, advocating for ongoing research and development in this area to meet the demands of the 21st century. By focusing on both teacher professionalism and student achievement, the principal at SMAN 13 Banjarmasin exemplifies the vital role of leadership in fostering a supportive and effective learning environment.

Abstract

Quality is the level of conformity of a product, service or work result based on standards that have been created. Quality can also be measured based on the ability of a product or service to meet the needs and expectations of users or consumers. Schools as educational service providers must guarantee quality on an ongoing basis. This needs to be supported by the formation of a quality culture in schools. A school quality culture is an important foundation in efforts to continuously improve the quality of education. In the educational context, a culture of quality includes a commitment to high standards in the teaching and learning process, school management, and achieving optimal results for all students. The principal as the main leader in the school has a very strategic role in building and developing this quality culture. The purpose of this writing is to describe the role of the principal in developing a quality culture in the school. This research method is a qualitative research method, data mining is carried out by reviewing literature (scientific articles, books and other supporting sources). The results of this research illustrate that a culture of quality can be built by optimizing the role of the school principal to the maximum, such as the role of the school as a leader. Apart from that, it also makes supervision more effective in the performance of teaching and educational staff.

Abstract

The dynamic era of globalization requires workers and companies to always develop new products and innovate according to society's needs and market demands. The field of higher education is no exception where lecturers are required to accept a workload that can often damage the quality of their work life. This research aims to determine the quality of work life of lecturers who teach at the Faculty of Medicine and work in the medical field. This research uses a quantitative approach and descriptive analysis to provide an overview of the level of quality of work life. The research results show that the quality of work life of the majority of lecturers who are research subjects is at a high level. This is influenced by the score obtained on the salary and status dimensions which are related to the salary and status obtained by the research subjects from they work and also from society regarding the work they have.

Abstract

The quality of education is one of the main issues that continues to be discussed in the world of education due to the complexity of the problem. Efforts to improve the quality of education in schools require concrete actions supported by effective principal leadership. This study aims to explore the role of principal leadership in building a culture of quality in the educational environment. The research approach uses a qualitative descriptive method with data collection through interviews, observations, and documentation studies. The results of the study indicate that principals who apply a leadership style based on ethical values ​​and organizational culture are able to create behavior, culture, and symbols in schools that support the achievement of superior education quality. In conclusion, good principal leadership is the main key to improving accountability and quality of education in schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategic roles of Parents and Community in supporting educational quality at SDN Benua Anyar 4 Banjarmasin. The research methodology employed a descriptive qualitative approach using interviews, observations, and documentation. The research subjects included the School Principal. The findings reveal that parental and community contributions are highly significant in supporting quality education, reflected through active participation in school activities, providing moral and material support, and involvement in educational decision-making processes, resulting in no serious obstacles in the partnership between the School, Parents, and Community. The factors influencing such support include awareness of education's importance, educational levels, and the community's socio-economic conditions. The research concludes that synergistic collaboration among Schools, Parents, and Community is the key to creating a quality and sustainable educational environment.

Abstract

Pembelajaran abad ke-21 menghadirkan berbagai tantangan yang memerlukan inovasi dalam strategi pembelajaran. Pendekatan tematik menjadi salah satu solusi untuk meningkatkan efektivitas pembelajaran dengan mengintegrasikan berbagai mata pelajaran dalam satu tema. Penelitian ini menganalisis strategi penyusunan tema pada pembelajaran tematik di SDN Kelayan Timur 7 Banjarmasin, yang dilakukan melalui observasi dan wawancara dengan enam guru. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penyusunan tema dapat meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa dengan menghubungkan materi pembelajaran ke konteks dunia nyata. Namun, terdapat kendala dalam mengintegrasikan mata pelajaran tertentu, seperti matematika serta penyesuaian tema dengan kearifan lokal. Selain itu, faktor waktu dan sumber daya juga menjadi tantangan signifikan. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya pemahaman mendalam terhadap prinsip pembelajaran tematik untuk menghasilkan pengalaman belajar yang relevan, menarik, dan bermakna. Strategi inovatif diperlukan untuk mengatasi kendala tersebut sehingga pembelajaran tematik dapat diterapkan secara efektif.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the difficulties of teachers in implementing thematic learning in SD Negeri Tigarun, Tigarun Village, Juai District, Balangan Regency. Using a qualitative approach with a case study method, this research collected data through observation, structured interviews, and documentation. The research subjects were all class teachers at SD Negeri Tigarun. The results showed that the main difficulties of teachers in thematic learning lie in three aspects: lesson planning, lesson implementation, and integrating Basic Competencies (KD) from various subjects. Other inhibiting factors in implementing thematic learning are limited time for teachers to prepare lesson plans, lack of adequate learning media, and difficulties in linking themes with local wisdom.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menginvestigasi pengaruh dari kepemimpinan transformasional kepala sekolah, kreatifitas, dan motivasi terhadap kinerja guru di sekolah Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini (PAUD). Pelaksanaan penelitian mengacu pada pendekatan penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode korelasi. Sampel pada peneilitian ini adalah 111 orang guru PUAD  di salah satu kabupaten di Kalimantan Selatan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa kepemimpinan transformasional kepala sekolah memiliki pengaruh langsung terhadap kinerja, kreatifitas, dan motivasi kerja guru PAUD. Selain itu, motivasi kerja juga memiliki pengaruh langusung terhadap kualitas kinerja guru. Hasil penelitian ini juga menunjukan bahwa kepemimpinan transformasional kepala sekolah memiliki pengaruh secara tidak langusng terhadap kreativitas dan motivasi kerja guru. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa kinerja guru dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor baik itu internal maupun eksternal guru.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the management of early childhood learning in Perintis Kindergarten and Matahari Bunda Kindergarten, Kurun District, Gunung Mas Regency. The results of the study indicate that: 1) Learning planning begins with compiling a one-year activity program. 2) In the division of teaching tasks for teachers, it is adjusted to their respective competencies and expertise by holding a coordination meeting first at the beginning of the new school year. 3) The implementation of learning uses classical learning models, play while learning methods, and thematic. 4) Learning evaluations are also carried out periodically, namely every day, every end of the month and every end of the semester.
