Abstract

The ability to communicate skills is needed by everyone, especially school students. Through the spoken words and sentences, it can be seen that a person has a good personality. Developing confidence in public speaking, one of the concerns is stage fright. A person who is very fluent in everyday conversation may suddenly become terrified of having to stand up and speak in public. The purpose of the dedication is to a) increase student self-confidence; b) understand and apply public speaking techniques, c) train quick thinking, d) practice the art of verbal communication; e) and strengthening personality values by understanding effective communication that targets students at SMKN 3 Depok, Department of Automation and Office Management Expertise Competency. The method is carried out through face-to-face meetings with the technique of conducting a pre-test first, giving material, discussing then post-testing. The results obtained by students understand public speaking, there are techniques used to attract people's attention, persuade the audience to act as desired. Students can also pay attention to anything when speaking in public by gathering information on the target audience or targets to be spoken to. This ability is determined more through practice, experience and practice. The more you do it, the more skilled and confident you become.

Abstract

The purpose of this writing is to illustrate the management of efforts to improve teacher performance which is declining, such as: 1) Inaccuracy in attendance, 2) Unprofessional performance and so on. This phenomenon indirectly affects teaching and learning activities (KBM) in schools, which results in student learning achievement decreasing due to teachers being less professional. This will of course affect the quality of education and impact the good name of school institutions. When this has become a phenomenon, a system must be implemented to overcome this problem. And the main device subject is the school principal as a control device to evaluate and research the causes of this phenomenon. School principals must be discerning and intelligent in researching problems in depth and detail and finding solutions so that teacher performance problems can be resolved well, so that teachers as educators can restore their performance spirit to be more responsible and professional.

Abstract

This research stems from the implementation of Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) in Tenjolaya Village, Bandung Regency, involving students in intensive observation. KKN, as a student dedication activity, aims to have a positive impact on the community through coordination with government, education and UMKM, and local communities. This observation, as the main foundation of the KKN work program, opens up problem horizons in Tenjolaya Village. The issues include a lack of understanding among PKK mothers regarding Microsoft Excel, insufficient awareness of students regarding cyberbullying impacts, and a lack of students' confidence in career prospects. In the UMKM sector, dependence on the owner and one workforce is a constraint, coupled with the expansion of online marketing strategies. The research focus also includes increasing the capacity and involvement of Karang Taruna in RW 09 and RW 10. The research methodology adopts a qualitative approach with participatory observation during KKN. This study targets the improvement of understanding and skills among PKK mothers in using Microsoft Excel, educational administration efficiency, students' confidence in career prospects, students' understanding of productive department material, promotion of students' habits in foreign language learning, reducing UMKM dependence on the owner and one workforce, and increasing the capacity and involvement of Karang Taruna in RW 09 and RW 10. Thus, this research strives to provide sustainable solutions to enhance community skills and awareness. The achievement is directed toward efficiency to support holistic development in various sectors. The research results are expected to contribute positively to the welfare and development of the Tenjolaya community, bringing broader positive impacts at the local level. The final conclusion emphasizes the urgency of sustained and holistic efforts to achieve efficiency across all layers of society.

Abstract

This study investigates the relationship between meaning in life and mindfulness with flourishing among career women. The sample consisted of 282 career women selected through purposive sampling. The research utilized scales measuring life meaning, mindfulness, and flourishing. Data analysis was performed using SPSS version 21. The findings revealed a significant positive correlation between life meaning and mindfulness with flourishing, with a significance level of 0.000. These results suggest that both life meaning and mindfulness are crucial in promoting the psychological well-being of career women. The study offers valuable insights into the factors contributing to flourishing in this population and may serve as a foundation for interventions aimed at enhancing their well-being.

Abstract

This study aims to identify differences in organizational interests between Psychology and Communication Science students at Universitas 'Aisyiyah Yogyakarta. With a quantitative approach and comparative design, data were obtained through a questionnaire involving 184 students from both study programs. The results of the analysis using the Mann-Whitney test showed that Communication Science students had a higher interest in organizing than Psychology students. This difference is thought to be influenced by internal and external factors, such as the need to expand social networks and develop communication skills in Communication Science students. These findings are expected to be a reference for institutions in designing more appropriate organizational development programs for students from various study programs, according to their respective needs and interests.

Abstract

Career women in Indonesia have shown a significant increase in numbers but continue to face challenges such as a 23% wage gap compared to men, sexual harassment, and lower happiness levels. This study aims to describe flourishing among career women, defined as the highest level of mental well-being, encompassing life satisfaction, mental health, and productive behavior. One key factor supporting flourishing is Workplace spirituality, which refers to a sense of individual fulfillment derived from transcendence in the workplace. Workplace spirituality is influenced by Empowering leadership, characterized by leaders who empower employees through attentiveness, effective communication, and inspiration. Leaders who can empower their employees foster loyalty, self-confidence, and enhanced productivity, contributing to the development of Workplace spirituality and flourishing among career women.

Abstract

Dengan meningkatnya pemanfaatan ruang terbangun di kawasan pesisir akan mempengaruhi daya dukung atau kapasitas lingkungan wilayah pesisir serta menimbulkan dampak negatif bagi lingkungan sekitar jika penggunaannya tidak disesuaikan dengan kaidah-kaidah keberlanjutan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengevaluasi penggunaan lahan di kawasan pesisir Kecamatan Barru Kabupaten Barru yang sesuai dan tidak sesuai dengan peruntukannya menggunakan analisi overlay dan menganalisis status keberlanjutan dari faktor-faktor yang berpengaruh dalam pengembangan wilayah pesisir serta menentukan strategi pengembangan wilayah pesisir berkelanjutan. Hasil penelitian ini yaitu menggambarkan kesesuaian antara penggunaan lahan eksisting dengan pola ruang RTRW Kabupaten Barru. Status keberlanjutan wilayah pesisir berdasarkan aspek keberlanjutan antara lain dimensi sosial, dimensi ekologi, dan dimensi teknologi berada pada status cukup berkelanjutan, sedangkan dimensi ekonomi dan kelembagaan berada pada status kurang berkelanjutan. Dari hasil analisis ditentukan strategi dalam pengembangan wilayah pesisir berkelanjutan di kawasan pesisir Kecamatan Barru Kabupaten Barru dengan menggunakan strategi SO, memanfaatkan peluang untuk mempertahankan kekuatan seperti, meningkatkan partisipasi masyarakat dalam pengelolaan pengembangan wilayah pesisir yang berkelanjutan Development progress in Barru District, Barru Regency, especially in coastal areas in recent years have been very rapid. The increasing use of built space in coastal areas will affect the carrying capacity or environmental capacity of coastal areas and cause negative impacts on the surrounding environment if its use is not adjusted to the principles of sustainability. The aim of this research is to evaluate land use in the coastal area of Barru District, Barru Regency which is suitable and which is not according to its intended use using overlay analysis and analyzing the sustainability status of the factors that influence the development of coastal areas and determining sustainable coastal area development strategies. The results of this research illustrate the suitability between existing land use and the Barru Regency RTRW spatial pattern. The sustainability status of coastal areas based on sustainability aspects includes the social dimension, ecological dimension and technological dimension being at moderately sustainable status, while the economic and institutional dimensions are at less sustainable status. From the results of the analysis, a strategy for sustainable coastal area development in the coastal area of Barru District, Barru Regency was determined using the SO strategy, taking advantage of opportunities to maintain strengths, such as increasing community participation in managing sustainable coastal area development

Abstract

Philosophy of science is a branch of philosophy that studies the fundamental principles and methods underlying scientific knowledge. In the context of the rapid development of scientific knowledge, the philosophy of science plays a crucial role in providing a solid foundation to understand how knowledge is acquired, tested, and validated in an objective and rational manner. This article aims to examine the contribution of the philosophy of science in driving the development of scientific knowledge, focusing on its epistemological, ontological, methodological, ethical aspects, and the role of innovation in scientific research. The methodology used in this article is a qualitative approach with a descriptive analysis of relevant literature on the philosophy of science and its contribution to scientific knowledge. The philosophy of science not only helps in shaping scientific paradigms that guide researchers in formulating theories and conducting research, but also ensures that research is carried out while considering its social and moral implications. Therefore, the philosophy of science plays an essential role in ensuring that scientific knowledge develops in a systematic, responsible, and socially relevant manner.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the relationship between religiosity, spirituality, and individual character in the work context. Religiosity and spirituality have an important role in shaping individual values and beliefs, which can influence their behavior and character in the work environment in the era of society 5.0. Individual character includes aspects of morality, ethics, integrity, responsibility, and other qualities that are relevant in the professional world. This study uses a qualitative approach by combining a comprehensive literature review and analysis of data from interviews with individuals with diverse work experiences. The results of the study show that religiosity and spirituality can provide a strong moral basis and influence the way individuals interact with colleagues, superiors, and customers. Internalized values through individual religious or spiritual practices can shape ethical attitudes and behavior, reflect integrity, and strengthen responsibility towards work. In addition, this study also found that religiosity and spirituality can enrich individual work experiences by providing a sense of purpose, meaning, and balance in professional life. Individuals who have a deep understanding of religious values or spirituality tend to be more satisfied in their jobs and have a more positive perception of the organization they work for. However, this research also underlines that aspects of religiosity and spirituality do not always have a positive impact in the work context. Some individuals may use their beliefs as an excuse to justify unethical or discriminatory behavior, which can create tension or conflict in the workplace. In addition, individual religious or spiritual views may differ, and these differences may affect interpersonal relationships in the work environment. The results of this study provide a better understanding of the importance of considering aspects of religiosity, spirituality, and individual character in the work context. The implications of this research include the importance of organizations promoting an inclusive work climate and respecting the diversity of individual beliefs, as well as providing space for individuals to express their religious or spiritual values in a positive way and in line with universal ethical and moral principles.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji hubungan antara stres akademik dan kecemasan masa depan pada mahasiswa, dengan mempertimbangkan perbedaan jenis kelamin. Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah tingginya tingkat kecemasan akan masa depan yang dialami mahasiswa, yang dapat dipicu oleh tekanan akademik dan ketidakpastian masa depan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami bagaimana stres akademik berkontribusi terhadap kecemasan masa depan, serta mengeksplorasi perbedaan antara mahasiswa laki-laki dan perempuan dalam merespons kecemasan tersebut. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional, di mana data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner yang dibagikan kepada mahasiswa di Yogyakarta. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya korelasi positif yang signifikan antara stres akademik dan kecemasan masa depan. Selain itu, hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa perempuan cenderung mengalami tingkat kecemasan masa depan yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan mahasiswa laki-laki. Kesimpulannya, stres akademik memiliki dampak terhadap kecemasan masa depan, dengan pengaruh yang bervariasi berdasarkan jenis kelamin. Implikasi dari temuan ini dapat membantu pihak universitas dalam memberikan dukungan mental dan akademik yang tepat bagi mahasiswa
