Abstract

This study explores the implementation of the Blended Problem-Based Learning (PBL) approach in teaching EFL speaking and examines students’ perspectives on its use. Using a qualitative method, data were collected from 32 fourth-semester students in a Speaking for Academic Purposes course through classroom observations, audio-visual recordings, and open-ended questionnaires. Thematic analysis revealed that Blended PBL promotes active student engagement, critical thinking, collaboration, self-reflection, and the integration of technology. Students reported increased speaking confidence, improved problem-solving skills, and greater autonomy. Despite some challenges, such as technical issues and unstable internet connections, the approach proved effective in enhancing speaking fluency and learner independence. These findings suggest that Blended PBL is a valuable instructional strategy for fostering both language proficiency and essential 21st-century skills in EFL contexts.

Abstract

This paper's primary goal is to investigate perceptions of the implementation of a microteaching course using reflective teaching practice. Microteaching is a course that prepares student-teachers to become professional instructors. Reflective teaching techniques include self-reflection and reflections from teachers and peers, which lead to effective and complete evaluation. This study explores how Indonesian student-teachers perceive the implementation of microteaching and how they discover the reflection in the microteaching course. Using a qualitative approach, semi-structured interviews and focus group discussions were conducted with seven participants to gather in-depth insights into their experiences and perceptions regarding reelection in the microteaching course. The results showed that student-teachers were concerned about preparing before conducting microteaching, including searching for materials to construct a lesson plan, conducting teaching performance and evaluation, and perceiving positive arguments in the reflections given by the teacher and peers. Having strengths and weaknesses from the comments made student-teachers tend to improve their performance in the next practice. The results of this investigation have significant practical relevance for evaluating student-teachers’ teaching performance through reflection practice and for helping future teachers fulfil their requirement to be professional teachers.

Abstract

Janggala Village in Tasikmalaya Regency is designated as a national priority area characterized by relatively high poverty rates and susceptibility to natural disasters. As a strategic community group, the Family Welfare Empowerment Team (TP PKK) of Janggala Village encounters significant challenges, specifically low entrepreneurial skills, limited access to production equipment, and weak business management governance. This empowerment program aims to enhance the partners' economic independence by strengthening production capabilities (hard skills) and business management competencies (soft skills). The implementation method utilized a participatory "learning by doing" approach combined with intensive mentoring, which encompassed training in sewing batik derivative products, entrepreneurship management assistance, financial recording workshops, and the facilitation of appropriate technology. Evaluation results indicated a significant improvement in partner empowerment. In the managerial aspect, entrepreneurial understanding increased by 32.2% (reaching 88.4%), and financial recording proficiency rose by 32% (reaching 87.8%). Regarding technical aspects, sewing skills improved by 27% (reaching 83.6%). Furthermore, the program successfully facilitated the provision of production equipment, including sewing and overlock machines, enabling 35 TP PKK members to manufacture ready-to-use products such as tote bags, pouches, and outerwear.

Abstract

Research competence is a key requirement for pre-service English teachers, yet its development remains a challenge. Project-Based Blended Learning (PjBBL), known for promoting engagement and autonomy, holds potential to address this issue. However, its influence on students’ research readiness is still underexplored. This study investigates English education students’ perceptions of their research readiness after engaging in PjBBL. Using a mixed-methods approach, data were collected through surveys, interviews, and focus group discussions with undergraduate students enrolled in a research methods course. Findings indicate that PjBBL enhances foundational research skills, critical thinking, and collaboration but presents challenges in advanced data analysis, time management, and resource accessibility. The study underscores the need for structured guidance, resource support, and training in research methodologies. Future research is encouraged to explore longitudinal impacts of PjBBL on research competence and to examine its integration with digital tools for advanced data analysis and academic writing.

Abstract

Innovative systems are changing modern language education from teaching and assessment to pedagogical strategies. This study explored the extent to which Learning Management Systems (LMS), Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL) environments, and digital assessment tools impacted the organization and assessment of language programs. A qualitative research approach was utilized, and data was collected from forty participants (educators, learners, and administrators) through semi-structured interviews, anonymized surveys, and document analysis. Feedback from participants indicates that while organizational features of LMS platforms are one of the most utilized components, they are also highly effective (85%) for organizing course materials and communication. CALL tools provide interactive and personalized learning experiences (rated at 78%) but require better teacher training and technical know-how. Digital assessment tools are efficient (65%) for assessing language skills, but face challenges with evaluating nuanced language skills, such as fluency and creativity. The text emphasizes the importance of hybrid assessment methods that blend automated feedback with human input. Despite challenges like software issues, hardware access, and limited training, technology has enhanced learning and teaching. The study calls for thoughtful integration, continuous instructional design, and stronger teacher training, alongside improvements in infrastructure to support a more flexible, student-centred education system.

Abstract

In the rapidly evolving landscape of digital education, understanding how cultural values influence technology integration is essential. This study investigates how Indonesian EFL lecturers make pedagogical decisions and enact the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) framework in culturally grounded ways. Drawing on both quantitative and qualitative data, the research involved a questionnaire distributed to 59 lecturers and in-depth interviews with 13 participants from various regions and institutions in Indonesia. The findings reveal that lecturers’ selection of digital tools and instructional strategies are mediated by beliefs about teacher authority, student respect, classroom order, and cultural appropriateness. While some lecturers, particularly older ones, favored structured, teacher-led digital practices, younger lecturers were more open to integrating interactive tools, though still within cultural boundaries. Rather than adopting global pedagogical models wholesale, participants actively adapted them to fit local expectations. The study concludes that TPACK is not a culturally neutral framework but is redefined by educators in context. This research contributes to the growing body of knowledge on culturally responsive digital pedagogy and highlights the importance of integrating sociocultural awareness into teacher-training and technology-adoption frameworks.

Abstract

Dusun Kedampul Desa Duwet memiliki potensi alam bambu yang melimpah. Sampai saat ini pemanfaatan bambu belum maksimal baik dari segi kuantitas dan kualitas padahal bambu dapat dijadikan berbagai kerajinan anyaman maupun non anyaman. Berdasarkan hal tersebut maka dipilihlah Dusun Kedampul Desa Duwet sebagai lokasi untuk melaksanakan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM). Kegiatan PKM yang dilaksanakan berupa pelatihan, dengan tahapan sebagai berikut: (1) tahap persiapan, (2) tahap pelaksanaan proses dan (3) tahap pemandirian. Pelaksanaan kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Januari – November 2018 yaitu berupa kegiatan: pendidikan dan pelatihan kerajinan anyaman berbahan baku bambu. Beberapa manfaat praktis yang diharapkan dari pelaksanaan PKM, yaitu: (1) mereka mendapatkan informasi yang jelas dan utuh mengenai hakekat pemberdayaan masyarakat dari segi pengetahuan dan keterampilan, bermakna untuk penciptaan lapangan pekerjaan baru yang sifatnya inovatif dari kerajinan anyaman bambu; (2) masyarakat yang menjadi peserta pelatihan memperoleh gambaran yang jelas mengenai langkah pengembangan iklim usaha dengan memanfaatkan komoditas lokal; (3) peserta pelatihan juga mendapatkan gambaran yang jelas dan utuh tentang manfaat hasil komoditi lokal apabila dikelola dengan baik akan mendatangkan nilai finansial.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan tingkat keberhasilan tendangan penalti antara kaki bagian dalam dan punggung kaki. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan kajian literatur dengan mengumpulkan dan menganalisis data dari berbagai jurnal yang terkait. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa tendangan penalti dari bagian dalam kaki memberikan hasil yang lebih akurat dan tepat sasaran dibandingkan tendangan dari punggung kaki. Meskipun terdapat beberapa perbedaan dalam hasil penelitian, namun penting untuk meningkatkan keterampilan setiap pemain baik dari segi posisi pemain maupun situasi permainan, serta mempertimbangkan apa yang berkontribusi terhadap hasil akhir dari kedua teknik tersebut. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa kedua teknik tendangan penalti bisa digunakan secara efektif tergantung pada keterampilan pemain futsal dan latihan yang dilakukan oleh para pemain. Namun, berdasarkan hasil yang telah dilakukan oleh para peneliti tendangan penalti yang dilakukan pada bagian dalam kaki lebih efektif dalam futsal dibandingkan dengan bagian atas kaki. Teknik penalti menggunakan kaki bagian dalam terbukti meningkatkan akurasi, kontrol, dan konsistensi yang menjadi faktor kunci dalam mencetak gol. Dengan keunggulan tersebut, disarankan latihan dengan penekanan pada tendangan kaki bagian dalam untuk meningkatkan performa pemain dalam situasi penalti. Kata Kunci: Futsal; tendangan penalti; teknik tendangan; perbandingan

Abstract

Purpose of the study: The objective of this study is his study ims to evaluate the effectiveness of Raz-Kids in improving students’ reading skills and investigate the effect of Raz-Kids on students during a reading program. Methodology: The method implemented in this study was Systematic Literature Review (SLR). There were 16 papers on implementing Raz-Kids in teaching reading from Google Scholar, SINTA, Science Direct, and ERIC. The step in writing this scientific work is to find the sources of previous studies, examine them, and make conclusions based on the subject of the study. Main Findings: The result showed that Raz-Kids is an effective internet portal that helps students develop reading skills. It also supports students’ enthusiasm and independent learning in reading. The parents and teachers act as support systems to encourage them to achieve their reading goals. However, there are many challenges with Raz-Kids’ use in reading programs. It highlights the need for this portal to be enhanced. Thus, Raz-Kids is a valuable online resource that helps learners develop their reading skills. Novelty/Originality of this study: This review mainly focused on implementing specific internet portals, namely Raz-kids, in teaching reading in EFL Classes. It aims to develop the knowledge of researchers, educators, policymakers, and technology developers concerning the crucial internet portal Raz-Kids in teaching reading and its effect on students’ outcomes.

However, despite increasing reporting practices, the quality and consistency of climate disclosures remain uneven. This study aims to analyze how CRD contributes to transparency and accountability in the mining sector. The research employs a qualitative approach using a systematic literature review and document analysis of relevant academic studies and reporting frameworks such as TCFD and GRI. Data were collected through structured stages of identification, screening, eligibility, and inclusion, and analyzed using thematic and content analysis. The findings indicate that while climate disclosures are increasingly adopted, many remain symbolic and lack integration with financial impacts and strategic decision-making. High-quality disclosures—characterized by comprehensive emission reporting, governance involvement, and adherence to international standards—enhance transparency and accountability. However, challenges such as greenwashing, inconsistent standards, and weak market responses persist. In conclusion, climate risk disclosure has significant potential to strengthen transparency and accountability in the mining industry, but its effectiveness depends on the depth, consistency, and substantive integration of disclosed information.
