Abstract

Integrated MSWM is still the target in most developing countries. The factors that influence MSWM performance are integrated not only from the preparation of regulations and funding, but also the preparation of the human resources involved. The planning stage of this model is inspired by the interpretation of the management process by Gunawan et al (2021) and is in line with Terry's (1972) theory which categorizes the management process into planning, organizing, implementing and controlling (POAC) functions. This research characterizes and compiles aspects and indicators of MSWM implementation which are critical issues within the framework of management functions. The goal is to make it easier to recognize the most critical aspects of MSWM implementation. The management function framework in implementing MSWM in this research was prepared using the systematic literature review (SLR) method. In developing countries, the application of MSWM still focuses on the collection system aspect which is the actuating function. In this case, an in-depth study of the planning function is needed, namely how policy and financial support influence the development of an effective technical plan for a collection system. The actuating function does not only carry out technical implementation but is also accompanied by firmness in enforcing regulations and sanctions. Regular monitoring and evaluation are needed to control the effectiveness of MSWM. Supervision requires organized human resource strength. The potential for developing an inventory of elements in each dimension is still needed. This may be caused by differences in the characteristics of the study areas.

Abstract

Developing 21st-century competencies in physics education requires learning approaches that integrate scientific process skills, technological literacy, and creativity through meaningful and contextual experiences. However, vibration and sound wave learning is often presented abstractly, with limited connection to students’ cultural environments and minimal use of affordable technology for data acquisition. This study aims to develop and validate vibration- and sound-wave teaching materials using the traditional Sasak musical instrument, saron, integrated with low-cost information and communication technology (ICT) devices to enhance science process skills, technological literacy, and student creativity. The study employed a research and development approach using the ADDIE model, encompassing analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. Data were collected through field observations, document analysis, expert validation, and small-scale trials involving 11 prospective physics teachers. The developed teaching materials covered key vibration-wave concepts, including frequency, resonance, waveform analysis, harmonic structure, sound intensity, and creative musical instrument projects, supported by ICT tools such as Adobe Audition, LoggerPro, DaTuner, MacScope II, Advanced Spectrum, and intensity meter applications. The results indicate that the teaching materials were highly feasible, with an average validation score of 81.7% (good–very good), while user responses were very positive, with an average score of 399.91 out of 500. Empirical findings demonstrate that integrating the saron Sasak with ICT-based data acquisition enables students to connect abstract wave concepts with real phenomena, thereby strengthening inquiry skills, digital competence, and creative thinking. The novelty of this study lies in the comprehensive integration of local cultural instruments and affordable digital technologies into vibration-wave teaching materials that explicitly target multiple 21st-century skills within a TPACK-oriented framework. The study concludes that ethnoscience-based, ICT-integrated teaching materials are valid, practical, and effective for physics learning, advancing contextual, culturally responsive, and technology-enhanced physics education.

Abstract

Abstract

Variations in Eid al-Adha determination is due to the differences in ascertaining the beginning of the Islamic month of Zulhijjah. Furthermore, the discrepancies in establishing the beginning of the Zulhijjah month are due to differences in maţla, which is the location where the new moon appears, as well as variations in the reckoning and ru'yah methods. A qualitative method was used for evaluating, characterizing, and exposing its findings. The method of data collection was literature review, which aims to investigate the origins of differences and discover a compromise solution to decrease or eradicate these variations, or at least to comprehend those that cannot be eliminated. The results showed variations in the location from which the new moon is viewed as well as the methodologies used lead to differences in establishing the beginning of the Zulhijjah month. This leads to differences in the schedule of holidays. Therefore, determining the beginning of the Zulhijjah month needs to be carried out by the leader of the jurisdiction or legal area. There are also disparities in holiday determination due to differences in jurisdictions which cannot be avoided. Hence, the government's decision of one jurisdictional area can remove discrepancies in its territory ḥukm al-ḥākim yarfa'u al-khilāf.

Abstract

This study examines how a love-based curriculum is institutionalized within Islamic education management to develop a humanistic school culture. The research addresses the persistent gap between value-based educational leadership discourse and its practical implementation in institutional management, particularly in faith-based schooling contexts. This research employed a qualitative interpretive case study design conducted at MAN Kotawaringin Timur, Indonesia. Data were collected from 24 participants, including school leaders, teachers, staff members, students, and a school committee representative, through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and analysis of institutional documents. Data were analyzed using iterative thematic coding to identify patterns of value integration across management practices. The findings reveal that the love-based curriculum functions not only as a pedagogical approach but also as an organizational governance framework embedded in four interconnected managerial dimensions: value-oriented strategic planning, empathetic-participatory leadership, dialogical learning practices, and continuous character-oriented evaluation. These dimensions collectively form an integrative Islamic education management model that transforms ethical values into institutional drivers shaping relational trust, psychological safety, and student social-religious engagement. Theoretically, this study contributes to value-based educational leadership and school culture research by conceptualizing love as an institutional governance mechanism within Islamic educational management.

Abstract

The expansion of oil palm plantations in the Borneo region over the past few decades has generated intense debate concerning its ecological impacts, including deforestation, biodiversity loss, forest fires, and land-use change. This article aims to analyze this phenomenon through a thematic (maudhu‘i) exegetical approach to Qur’anic verses related to the environment, particularly the concepts of fasād fī al-arḍ (corruption on earth), the mandate of human vicegerency (amānah al-khilāfah), and the principle of balance (mīzān). This study employs a qualitative library-based research design using thematic exegesis by collecting relevant verses, examining their asbāb al-nuzūl (occasions of revelation) and munāsabah (textual coherence), and analyzing them through the lens of Islamic ecotheology and contemporary literature on ecological crisis. The findings indicate that the Qur’an normatively prohibits all forms of exploitation that result in systemic damage to ecosystems. The concept of fasād encompasses not only moral corruption but also ecological destruction caused by human excess and transgression (isrāf and ṭughyān). In the context of Borneo, oil palm expansion becomes problematic when its practices disregard principles of sustainability, ecological justice, and the ethical responsibility inherent in human vicegerency. Nevertheless, the Qur’an does not categorically reject economic activity; rather, it emphasizes maintaining a balance between resource utilization and environmental preservation. This study contributes to the advancement of Islamic ecotheological discourse by positioning thematic exegesis as a normative framework for assessing natural resource–based development practices. The findings underscore the urgency of integrating Qur’anic ethics into oil palm plantation management policies to ensure alignment with sustainability principles and ecological responsibility.

Abstract

Background: Conventional radiography remains the primary radiological procedure for suspected foreign bodies in soft tissues due to its wide availability, ease of use, and affordable, accounting for 75% of imaging examinations. In pelvic cases, the standard Anteroposterior (AP) projection alone is often insufficient for evaluating the depth of foreign body: therefore, a lateral projection is essential to provide comprehensive spatial information. objective: the study aims to describe the management of pelvic radiographic examinations using AP and lateral projections in a case of a foreign body caused by a nail gun and to assess the effectiveness of these projections in detecting radiopaque images and determining their depth. Methods: A clinical-technical case study using a descriptive observational was conducted on a 23-year-old male patient with a clinical diagnosis of a foreign body in the gluteal region. Data were collected on November 6, 2024 through direct observation of the procedure, documentation of examination techniques, radiographic results, and radiologist interpretation. Results: The AP projection successfully identified a radio-opaque shadow in the shape of a nail in the pelvic region without evidence of bone fracture. The lateral projection provided a precise depth measurement of 1.6 cm from the marker, showing a coccygeal shift of <25% of the foreign body's diameter and associated soft tissue thickening. Conclusion: The combination of AP and lateral projections is effective for visualizing radiopaque objects like nails in the gluteal region, where the lateral view is crucial for depth localization. Recommendations: Future research should conduct comparative studies on other modalities, such as Ultrasonography (USG) for radiolucent objects or 3D CT-Scan

Abstract

This study examines the discursive architecture of modern Japanese subjectivity as reflected in the writings of Tokutomi Sohō in the influential magazine Kokumin no Tomo (1887–1898). Employing Norman Fairclough’s model through three dimensions of analysis—text, discursive practice, and social practice—this study examines how Tokutomi Sohō’s heiminshugi discourse in Kokumin no Tomo functions as a discursive strategy for the construction of modern Japanese masculinity. The findings reveal three key points: (1) the symbolic delegitimization of the samurai class (shizoku) as gokubushi as a mechanism for reconstructing a new masculinity based on economic productivity; (2) a biopolitical shift from the glorification of ritual death (seppuku) toward economic vitality as the marker of ideal masculinity; and (3) the transformation of this productive masculinity into an imperialist force in the aftermath of the Sino-Japanese War (1895). This study concludes that the discourse of heiminshugi is not merely a political ideology, but a technology of power that disciplines the bodies of Japanese men—freeing them from feudal shackles only to bind them to the imperatives of the nation-state and the agenda of imperialism.
