Abstract

This study is important in understanding how these institutions respond to the ideological tension between two major currents: Islamization and secularization, both of which significantly influence policy direction and da’wah strategies. The main objective of this research is to explore the evolving thought dynamics within contemporary da’wah institutions and their impact on institutional management and social outreach. Using a library research method, the study examines classical and contemporary literature on secularization, Islamization, and institutional da’wah management. The findings reveal that Islamization-oriented institutions emphasize religious identity and the formal application of sharia, whereas institutions leaning towards functional secularization prioritize universal values, inclusive language, and context-sensitive strategies for multicultural societies. The novelty of this study lies in its comparative analysis that highlights how different ideological orientations shape organizational design, leadership models, and public communication strategies. The implications suggest that integrating Islamic values with inclusive and adaptive modern management principles is essential for policy development in contemporary da’wah institutions.

Abstract

The increasing demand for efficient and reliable electricity distribution necessitates innovative technologies. Superconductors, known for their ability to conduct electricity without resistance, present a promising solution for enhancing power transmission. Their implementation in high-speed electric distribution networks could revolutionize energy efficiency and reliability. This research aims to evaluate the feasibility and benefits of integrating superconducting technology into high-speed electricity distribution systems. The study seeks to identify the performance improvements and potential challenges associated with this technology. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining theoretical analysis with practical simulations. The performance of superconducting cables was compared to conventional copper and aluminum cables under varying load conditions. Key metrics, including efficiency, energy loss, and thermal performance, were assessed using advanced simulation software. The findings indicate that superconducting cables can achieve up to 90% efficiency, significantly reducing energy losses compared to traditional materials. Simulations demonstrated that superconductors can handle higher power loads with minimal thermal issues, making them suitable for high-speed distribution networks.

Abstract

Background. Siak Sri Indrapura in Riau is one of the heritage city areas in Indonesia. Its main pillars include historical and cultural heritage such as the kingdom with its artifacts, traditional halls, mosques, traditional arts and crafts, and culinary. With this potential, Siak Sri Indrapura Regency has become a destination that many tourists visit to improve the economy of its community. Purpose. This study aims to explain communication patterns in developing heritage cities as tourist destinations in Siak Regency. Method. This research uses stakeholder theory with a tourism and heritage tourism communication approach, and uses qualitative methods. Results. The results of the study show that local governments supported by the private sector/entrepreneurs, academics, media, and local communities implement communication patterns in developing heritage tourism. Local governments play an active role in developing heritage tourism by taking formal legal protection for various heritage sites; the private sector/entrepreneurs have encouraged and accelerated government programs through capital assistance; academics have supported the government through research activities; the media has distributed information related to heritage tourism; and the local community is the axis and actor in the development of heritage tourism in Siak. Conclusion. The pattern of tourism communication in developing heritage cities as tourist destinations begins with a balanced relationship between the government and related parties, expanding private and academic functions, increasing the role of the media, and strengthening local communities as actors in the development of Siak as a heritage city. Therefore, this tourism communication pattern can be a role model for other regions to develop sustainable heritage tourism.

Abstract

This research was motivated by observations during the School Field Practice or Praktik Lapangan Persekolahan (PLP) at SMP Negeri 10 Jambi City, which indicated that students had not yet fully understood or mastered the freestyle swimming technique. This study aimed to determine the relationship between swimming knowledge and freestyle swimming skills among eighth-grade students. this research employed A quantitative method with a correlational approach was employed. Data were collected through a questionnaire to measure knowledge and direct observation to assess skills. The research sample consisted of 50 students from classes 8D and 8E, selected using simple random sampling. The results showed that the majority of students' knowledge of freestyle swimming was in the good (54%) and very good (32%) categories. In contrast, their swimming skills were more varied: 34% were in the very good category, 28% good, 22% poor, and 16% very poor. The Pearson correlation test yielded a value of r = 0.184, which is categorized as very low. This indicates that students with good swimming knowledge do not necessarily possess adequate practical skills. In conclusion, mastering freestyle swimming requires repetitive, directed, and balanced motor practice alongside theoretical understanding. Therefore, swimming instruction should emphasize the integration of cognitive and psychomotor aspects.

Abstract

Rowosari Village, Sumberjambe Subdistrict, is one of the fostered villages of the University of Jember, where the majority of the population works as coffee farmers. However, the farmers face significant challenges in coffee cultivation due to attacks by coffee berry borer (CBB) (Hypothenemus hampei), with an infestation intensity reaching 60-67%, and nutrient deficiencies caused by the high price of fertilizers. This community empowerment program aims to address these issues through environmentally friendly pest control and soil quality improvement approaches. The solutions implemented include the application of the entomopathogenic fungus Beauveria bassiana formulation in the medium, which has been proven to reduce pest populations by up to 50%, and the use of solid organic fertilizer containing nitrogen (15%), phosphorus (0.8%), and potassium (12%). The results of this program show an increase in coffee production by 10.4% following the application of Beauveria bassiana and organic fertilizer. Farmers’ perceptions were also very positive, with a score of 4.5 out of 5 for ease of application and 4.2 for willingness to continue using the technology. Through the utilization of Beauveria bassiana and organic fertilizer in Rowosari Village, the empowerment program is expected to increase coffee productivity, improve soil conditions, and strengthen the resilience of farmers in facing pest and nutrient deficiency challenges sustainably.

Abstract

The community service program in Basseang Village was conducted to enhance local residents’ skills and self-reliance in processing agricultural products into high-value commodities, particularly through training on chili sauce production. This activity aimed to address the low market price of fresh chili during harvest seasons and to encourage the development of small-scale, home-based food enterprises. In addition, the program introduced the production of trichocompost as an environmentally friendly organic fertilizer, utilizing Trichoderma sp. as a biostimulant to accelerate the decomposition of organic materials such as goat manure and crop residues. The resulting compost was later applied to support organic chili cultivation as the main raw material for sauce production. The program was implemented through socialization, hands-on training, and direct mentoring involving women’s groups and young farmers. Evaluation results indicated that participants were able to produce chili sauce independently, with a comprehension rate of 90%. Meanwhile, the use of trichocompost helped reduce agricultural waste and improve soil fertility. Overall, this activity positively impacted household income, fostered entrepreneurial awareness, and promoted the application of appropriate technology to support sustainable agricultural practices in Basseang Village.
