Abstract

This article is motivated by the differences in the eating and drinking practices of students with the hadith of the Prophet SAW. The problem in this study is to analyze the eating and drinking ethics of students at Padang State University (UNP). The object of this study is UNP students, on the grounds that the majority of students here are Muslim and have a strong Minangkabau culture with Islamic values. The concept of living hadith is a study of hadith that lives in society based on the hadith of the Prophet SAW. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative method based on a case study approach. The analysis of this study uses a SWOT analysis. The results of the study indicate that the eating and drinking practices of UNP students on campus are currently generally not in accordance with the ethical values ​​of eating and drinking in Islamic teachings.

Abstract

In today's business landscape, innovation has become a critical determinant for organizational survival and competitiveness in an increasingly volatile industrial environment. Companies must strategically manage their knowledge and organizational learning while fostering an innovation-driven culture to optimize performance outcomes. Based on this rationale, the present study investigates how innovation mediates the influence of knowledge management and organizational learning on organizational performance. The research gathered data from 200 SME entrepreneurs in South Sulawesi through a structured questionnaire. Data analysis was performed using the Partial Least Squares (PLS) method. Findings reveal that both knowledge management and organizational learning exert direct, positive, and significant impacts on performance. Furthermore, both also positively influence innovation, which in turn significantly boosts performance. Notably, innovation also acts as a significant mediating mechanism between knowledge management, organizational learning, and performance in SMEs."

Abstract

  This study aims to explore the influence and simultaneous relationship between electricity consumption and economic inequality in Indonesia. This study uses time series data for the country of Indonesia for the period 2000-2023 sourced from the BPS. This research method uses simultaneous equations with the 2SLS (Two-Stage Least Square) approach as its best method with more consistent results and lower standard errors compared to the 3SLS model. The results of this study indicate that in the first stage of estimation, economic inequality and energy investment have a negative effect on electricity consumption in Indonesia. Electrification has a positive effect on electricity consumption in Indonesia. However, household electricity sales do not affect electricity consumption in Indonesia. In the second stage of estimation, electricity consumption and unemployment rates have a negative effect on economic inequality in Indonesia. Furthermore, economic growth has a positive effect on economic inequality in Indonesia.

Abstract

Writing the history of science in the Islamic world has become a study among Orientalists and Muslim scholars themselves. One of the scientists who focused on the study was Fuat Sezgin. His work in the field of history of science was a major influence on the recognition by Orientalists of the splendor of science in the Islamic world. Fuat Sezgin is popular among researchers in Indonesia for his critical studies of hadith, but pays little attention to the study of the history of science. He has major works that have influenced the development of writing the history of science among Eastern and Western scholars, especially Orientalists. This article uses an intellectual biography writing model, using a historical approach, using heuristics, verification, interpretation and historiography steps. This article adds to the scientific treasures in order to introduce Fuat Sezgin and his contribution to writing the history of science in the Islamic world. Fuat Ssezgin's contribution to writing the history of science in the Islamic world is recognized by eastern and western scholars. First, he was a continuation and complement to the studies of the history of science by Orientalists such as Carl Brocklemann and Helmut Ritter. Secondly, Fuat Sezgin presents authoritative primary sources that can be used as material for philological studies of Islamic science manuscripts. Third, he is not only limited to theory in the realm of research. However, he established a museum and institution that focused on the study of Islamic science.

Abstract

Pertumbuhan ekonomi merupakan indikator penting dalam menilai kemajuan suatu negara, di mana salah satu faktor penentunya adalah perkembangan teknologi dan investasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh e-commerce dan investasi terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi di Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan data panel yang mencakup 34 provinsi di Indonesia selama periode 2019–2023. Data yang digunakan merupakan data sekunder yang diperoleh dari Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS). Metode analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Regresi Linier Data Panel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara parsial, e-commerce berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi. Investasi Penanaman Modal Dalam Negeri (PMDN) juga berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi. Begitu pula dengan investasi Penanaman Modal Asing (PMA) yang secara parsial menunjukkan pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi. Secara simultan, ketiga variabel independen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi di Indonesia.

Abstract

Memahami kesiapsiagaan dan pengetahuan masyarakat terhadap bencana di Desa Kaliurang, yang terletak di lereng selatan Gunung Merapi, sangat penting mengingat kerentanannya terhadap letusan gunung berapi. Penelitian ini menilai sejauh mana pemahaman masyarakat setempat mengenai risiko bencana dan kesiapsiagaan mereka terhadap bencana alam yang mungkin terjadi. Pendekatan kuantitatif digunakan dengan mengumpulkan data primer dari 32 responden melalui kuesioner. Statistik deskriptif dan analisis faktor diterapkan untuk mengidentifikasi faktor utama yang mempengaruhi kesiapsiagaan masyarakat. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan tiga faktor utama: pengetahuan tentang risiko bencana, pengetahuan mengenai prosedur evakuasi, dan kesadaran terhadap infrastruktur penanggulangan bencana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa meskipun mayoritas masyarakat menyadari risiko yang ditimbulkan oleh Gunung Merapi, masih terdapat kekurangan dalam kesiapsiagaan dan respons evakuasi. Penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat, tidak hanya di kalangan penduduk lokal, tetapi juga wisatawan, untuk memastikan keselamatan selama kemungkinan letusan gunung berapi. Temuan ini memberikan wawasan berharga untuk mengembangkan strategi guna meningkatkan kesiapsiagaan dan manajemen bencana di Desa Kaliurang dan destinasi wisata rawan bencana serupa.

Abstract

This study aims to conduct a fundamental and financial performance analysis of PT PLN (Persero). The research employs a descriptive quantitative approach, utilizing secondary data in the form of financial statements downloaded directly from PT PLN (Persero)'s official website. The results indicate a negative operational performance in 2019. However, from 2020 to 2023, there has been improvement, although optimal efficiency has not yet been achieved. Revenue and EBITDA have increased, but profit margins have declined, suggesting that operational costs have risen at a faster rate than revenue. The Debt Service Coverage Ratio (DSCR) consistently demonstrates the company’s ability to meet its debt obligations. The Debt to Equity Ratio (DER), ranging between 64–71%, indicates a relatively secure position in managing its capital structure. Growth trends are positive and sustainable. Return on Assets (ROA) shows a positive trend, reflecting improved financial performance efficiency. Return on Equity (ROE) also indicates a healthy and positive growth trend, suggesting the company is increasingly effective in utilizing equity to generate profits. Earnings Per Share (EPS) has exhibited a very positive growth trend since 2020.

Abstract

In 2023, Indonesia reported approximately 7.86 million unemployed individuals, with a notably low employment absorption rate among university graduates. One contributing factor to this issue is the insufficient level of job readiness among graduates, which hinders their ability to secure employment. This study aims to examine the extent to which work motivation and social support predict job readiness among final-year students at Ahmad Dahlan University. The research involved 100 participants selected through purposive sampling, a form of non-probability sampling. A quantitative research approach was employed, utilizing validated scales to measure job readiness, work motivation, and social support. Content validity was established through expert judgment. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression via SPSS version 16.0. The findings indicate that work motivation and social support collectively predict job readiness. However, while work motivation significantly contributes to job readiness, social support does not show a statistically significant effect. These results underscore the crucial role of internal factors particularly individual motivation in enhancing the job readiness of final-year students as they transition into the workforce, particularly within the context of the Indonesian labor market.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the role of coaches in developing the fighting spirit of young athletes in soccer clubs. Fighting spirit is a fundamental psychological aspect that determines an athlete's success in competition, but its development is often overlooked in the training process. The study used a qualitative approach with a case study design at three soccer clubs in West Java. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with coaches and young athletes (aged 14-18), participant observation during training and matches, and analysis of training program documents. The results revealed that the coach's role in developing the fighting spirit of athletes is complex and multidimensional, encompassing functions as an effective communicator, a creator of a conducive training environment, an individual motivator, a role model, and a manager of realistic expectations. Successful coaches are those who are able to create positive interpersonal relationships, provide constructive feedback, consistently apply standards, and understand the psychological characteristics of young athletes. The findings also demonstrate the importance of balancing challenge and support in developing athletes' mental resilience. This study provides a theoretical contribution to understanding the psychological dimensions of coaching and practical applications for developing holistic athlete training programs. Recommendations include improving coaches' competency in sport psychology, developing a comprehensive evaluation system, and longitudinal research to understand the long-term impact of coaching on career athletes.

Abstract

The debate over whether morality is innate (nature) or the result of learning and environment (nurture) is a fundamental discourse in the history of human thought. This article aims to critically and comparatively analyze the views of Islamic and Western thought on the nature of morality. Three main questions are the focus of this study: (1) Is morality permanent, or can it be changed through training?; (2) How are moral laws determined, based on intention or consequence?; and (3) What is the primary source of moral requirements?. This study employs a qualitative approach, utilizing a library research method. Data were collected through documentation techniques from various primary and secondary sources, including books, scientific journals, and relevant philosophical works. The collected data was then analyzed using Miles and Huberman's interactive analysis model, which includes three stages: data reduction, data display, and conclusions. This study reveals that in Islamic thought, morality is viewed as an innate potential that can be shaped and refined through education and self-improvement. Moral judgment is centred on intention (niyyah), with reason and revelation as sources of ethics that work synergistically. Conversely, Western thought tends to debate the fixed or changeable nature of morality, emphasizing the consequences of actions as a moral standard. Within the framework of ethics, rationality and social responsibility are the main foundations for formulating moral standards.
