Abstract

An urban park is potentially a source of vector-borne disease transmission due to it being a natural and artificial mosquito breeding habitats combined with people's continuous presence. Thus, this study aims to screen the occurrence of knockdown-resistance (kdr) mutant alleles (V1016G and F1534C) in mosquito populations collected from urban parks in Surabaya, Indonesia. Cross sectional study was conducted in July 2019. A total of 28 ovitraps were installed in seven urban parks, having four ovitraps installed in each park. In total, 1,662 eggs were collected, and only 187 emerged into adult mosquitoes, consisting of 97 Aedes (Stegomyia) aegypti and 90 Aedes (Stegomyia) albopictus. All-female adult mosquitoes (n=55) were tested using allele-specific polymerase chain reaction assay (AS-PCR) to detect voltage gated sodium channel (VGSC) gene mutations. This study found no mutations in Valine to Glysine mutation in point 1016 (V1016G) and Phenylalanine to Cysteine in point 1534 (F1534C) alleles in both two species. All of mosquito samples have wild type genotype of kdr alleles (V1016V and F1534F). Data were analysed using R Studio 1.4 Version by Genetics package. Results showed that the frequency of resistant alleles (G1016 and C1534) was zero, and the frequency of susceptible allele was 1 (V1016 and F1534). Insecticide bioassay could not be established due to the limited number of adult mosquitoes, so insecticide resistance status could not be determined. However, this study can be used as preliminary monitoring for the vector control program.

Abstract

Population growth requires the provision of clean water that meets the standards. As a provider of clean water. PT.Air Minum Intan Banjar (Perseroda) needs to continue to innovate in the water treatment process. One of them is in the filtration process. The purposes of the research were to analyze the thickness variations of the filter media from Quartz sand and palm sugar peel in the filtration process and to analyze the water resulted from the filtration process through laboratory tests. The variations of filter media thickness, namely: 30 cm, 40 cm, 50 cm, 60 cm and 1 control. The treatments were conducted with 20 repetitions which were taken randomly using the Complete Randomized Design (RAL) method. The samples from the treatment were analyzed in the laboratory to be compared to the parameters of Clean Water Standard from Permenkes RI No. 492 year 2010, namely: Turbidity, Color, TDS, pH, Fe, Mn, Nitrate, Nitrite, Sulfate, and E. Coli. The results of statistical data analysis showed that there was a significant change in the reduction of several pollutant loads through the filtration process using filter media from Quartz sand and organic carbon of sugar palm peels. The reduction of the pollutant loads especially in the thickness variation of 60 cm. The reduction of the pollutant loads is on several parameter, namely: Turbidity, Color, TDS, Fe, Mn, Nitrate, and Nitrite. However, the variation treatment of the thickness of the quartz sand filter media and the organic carbon of sugar palm peels at all thicknesses did not have significant change to the levels of pH, Sulfate and the amount of E. Coli between raw water and treated water in the filtration process.

Abstract

The aim of this research is, firstly, to find out about inclusive education. Second, to find out about inclusive education from an Islamic perspective. Third, to find out about the implementation of inclusive education in Islamic education. This research uses library research methods (Library Research). Because this research includes library research, in collecting data, the method used is the documentation method, namely searching and extracting data from reading materials related to the problem. After the data was collected, the author then clarified and divided it into several chapters and sub-chapters according to their nature, in order to make it easier to answer the problem formulation. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that inclusive education will not be successful without community support and participation. Children with special needs will want to go to regular schools or even segregated schools only if they are supported by their parents and the community. Stakeholders can support schools with support in the form of facilities, infrastructure, learning aids, costs, technical support, and providing employment opportunities for graduates who meet the requirements. In the Islamic view, it really emphasizes the importance of education without distinguishing between humans. The obligation to seek knowledge is not limited to certain groups or groups, but is mandatory for all followers of Islam, whether male, female, disabled or normal.
