Abstract

This research is influenced by a phenomenon that has occurred at State of Junior High School 27 Padang, namely low student interpersonal communication. Self-concept is one of the factors that influence students' interpersonal communication. This study aims to analyse the relationship between self-concept and interpersonal communication, the research method used is quantitative. This type of research is descriptive correlative. The population in this study was 364 student and the sample of this study was 190 student. The research instrument was a questionnaire raised with Likert scale measurement, the data analysed with descriptive correlation statistics with the help of SPSS version 25.00. The results show that students' self-concept is in the high category, which means that students already have a good self-image of themselves. Interpersonal communication is in the high category, indicating that students already have the ability to communicate effectively with others. There is a positive and significant increase between students' self-concept and interpersonal communication. This means that high and low interpersonal communication can be explained from self-concept, then interpersonal communication will be higher. The results of research data analysis obtained R = 0.213 with the degree of p = 0.003 (p < 0.005), R2 = 0.18.3%. This study proves that there is a positive and significant increase in self-concept and interpersonal communication of junior high school student. Abstract

This training on the development and implementation of STEAM-based deep learning was designed to enhance the capacity of elementary school teachers in preparing for the interdisciplinary-focused National Curriculum. The program was motivated by teachers’ limited understanding of deep learning and their difficulty in integrating STEAM elements into lesson planning. The methods included training, lesson plan workshops, teaching simulations, technology diffusion, and classroom mentoring. Results showed a significant increase in conceptual understanding, technical skills, and teacher creativity in designing and implementing project-based and collaborative learning. The resulting integrative lesson plans and creative teaching media served as indicators of the program’s success. These outcomes highlight the importance of localized teacher professional development programs to accelerate readiness for implementing STEAM-oriented curricula in primary education settings.

Abstract

Quarter life crisis merupakan periode kehidupan yang dialami pada usia 20 hingga 30 tahun yang ditandai dengan adanya kesulitan, emosi negatif,  stress dan umumnya dialami oleh mahasiswa tingkat akhir. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan quarter life crisis dan mengetahui perbedaan quarter life crisis pada mahasiswa tingkat akhir magister laki-laki dan perempuan di Fakultas Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Negeri Padang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitiannya deskriptif komparatif. Responden pada penelitian ini berjumlah 143 orang dengan 43 orang laki-laki dan 100 orang perempuan mahasiswa tingkat akhir magister Fakultas Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Negeri Padang. Teknik pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah total sampling dan data analisis menggunakan teknik t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa quarter life crisis mahasiswa tingkat akhir magister secara keseluruhan berada pada kategori sedang (50,35%). Pada hasil uji t-test terdapatnya perbedaan quarter life crisis pada mahasiswa tingkat akhir magister laki-laki dan perempuan dengan tarif signifikan p=0,000 dimana lebih kecil dari 0,05, dilihat dari distribusi frekuensi antara laki-laki dengan kategori rendah (93,02%) dan perempuan dengan kategori sedang (59,00%).

Abstract

Penerimaan diri penting bagi remaja karena berperan penting dalam pembentukan identitas dan kestabilan emosi. Remaja yang mampu menerima diri cenderung lebih percaya diri, mampu mengelola emosi dan menjalin hubungan sosial yang sehat. Penelitian ini bertujuan menggambarkan penerimaan diri siswa berdasarkan teori Bernard. Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif dengan sampel 285 siswa melalui teknik simple random sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa angket skala likert berdasarkan teori Bernard yang mencakup dua aspek: kesadaran diri untuk menghargai sikap positif dan menanggapi kejadian negatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) penerimaan diri siswa SMAN 1 Ampek Angkek secara umum berada dalam kategori baik (71,58%), (2) aspek menghargai sikap positif juga tergolong baik (66,67%), (3) aspek menanggapi kejadian negatif berada dalam kategori baik (63,86%). Temuan ini diharapkan menjadi acuan bagi guru, konselor, dan orang tua dalam mendukung remaja mengembangkan penerimaan diri melalui pendekatan edukatif dan psikologis yang sesuai.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the phenomenon that shows symptoms of stress in adolescents, such as the inability of students to control emotions, irritability, anxiety, difficulty concentrating, difficulty getting along with peer groups and decreased social skills. One factor that influences stress is peer social support. This study aims to determine the relationship between peer social support and stress in adolescents. This study uses a quantitative method with a descriptive correlational research type. The population in this study were students of grades XI and XI at SMA Negeri 2 Batang Anai registered in the 2025/2026 academic year, with a sample of 228 students using a simple random sampling technique. The results of the study show that peer social support is generally in the fairly high category and stress in adolescents is generally in the fairly high category. The results of the product moment correlation test obtained rxy = -0.300 indicating a negative relationship with the level of the relationship being in the weak category.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the phubbing behavior among Senior High School students. Phubbing is the act of ignoring a conversation partner by focusing more on using a smartphone, which results in a decline in the quality of social interactions. This research was motivated by the widespread use of smartphones among students, which has the potential to shift their attention away from face-to-face communication. The research method used is descriptive quantitative, with the population consisting of all students of SMA Negeri 1 Padang, and a sample of 274 students selected using proportional simple random sampling. The research instrument was a phubbing behavior questionnaire developed based on four factors: nomophobia, interpersonal conflict, self-isolation, and problem acknowledgment. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics to determine categories and score distributions.The results showed that overall, students’ phubbing behavior was in the high category, with a mean percentage of 66.56%. The nomophobia factor had a mean percentage of 68.86% (high category), interpersonal conflict 72.77% (high category), self-isolation 58.02% (medium category), and problem acknowledgment 65.85% (medium category). These findings indicate that anxiety about being separated from smartphones and avoiding conflict are the dominant factors influencing students’ phubbing behavior. The conclusion of this study is that phubbing behavior among students of SMA Negeri 1 Padang is quite concerning because it affects the quality of students’ social relationships. Therefore, it is recommended that guidance and counseling teachers provide information services, individual counseling, and group counseling to increase students’ awareness, develop communication skills, and reduce smartphone dependency.

Abstract

Verbal bullying is one of the most common forms of violence experienced by adolescents and has a serious impact on their psychological well-being. This study aims to comprehensively examine the impact of verbal bullying on adolescents' psychological well-being through a systematic literature review. Data was collected from 10 international scientific articles published between 2020 and 2025, using keywords such as “Verbal Bullying, Verbal violence, Verbal abuse, Taunting, Name-calling”. The results of the 10 reviewed articles indicate that verbal bullying can lead to various psychological disorders, such as depression, anxiety, decreased self-confidence, trauma, and impaired social relationships. These impacts tend to be more severe for adolescents with specific psychological vulnerabilities or who experience verbal bullying. These findings highlight the need for school- and family-based preventive interventions that are sensitive to psychological, social, and gender factors. Further research is recommended to develop evidence-based intervention programs to strengthen adolescents' psychological resilience and reduce the prevalence of verbal bullying in educational settings.

Abstract

This study aims to examine gender differences in assertive behavior among firstborn students and to analyze the implications for school guidance and counseling services. The research employs a quantitative descriptive comparative approach with 60 respondents (30 male and 30 female firstborn students) selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected using a validated assertiveness scale covering seven aspects: expressing feelings, rejecting requests, initiating interactions, expressing personal opinions, defending personal rights, requesting changes in others, and facing criticism. Statistical analysis revealed that male firstborn students demonstrate higher levels of assertiveness than their female counterparts across most indicators. These findings suggest that gender plays a significant role in shaping assertive behavior among firstborns, likely influenced by sociocultural expectations and familial roles. The results underscore the importance of implementing gender-responsive guidance and counseling strategies in schools to foster healthy communication, self-confidence, and emotional resilience among students, particularly those experiencing role pressure as firstborns.

Abstract

Penyesuaian diri siswa di sekolah menengah pertama (SMP) menjadi topik yang penting karena berhubungan dengan adaptasi sosial dan akademik yang mempengaruhi perkembangan pribadi siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penyesuaian diri siswa SMPN 13 Padang, dengan fokus aspek pengakuan (recognition), partisipasi (participation), persetujuan sosial (social approval), dan kesesuaian (conformity). Penelitian menggunakan metode kuantitatif deskriptif dengan jumlah sampel 245 siswa kelas VII dan VIII yang dipilih melalui teknik simple random sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara umum tingkat penyesuaian diri siswa berada pada kategori baik (63,67%), dengan rincian aspek pengakuan (recognition) (53,06%), aspek partisipasi (participation) (45,71%), aspek persetujuan sosial (social approval) (47,35%), dan aspek kesesuaian (conformity) (48,98%). Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar siswa telah mampu menyesuaikan diri dengan baik di lingkungan sekolah namun maish terdapat siswa yang membutuhkan bantuan lebih untuk meningkatkan kemampuannya dalam beradaptasi dengan lingkungan sekolah. Penelitian ini memiliki implikasi dalam perencanaan layanan bimbingan dan konseling untuk meningkatkan penyesuaian diri siswa.Keywords: Penyesuaian Diri, Siswa SMP, Bimbingan dan Konseling

Abstract

Kekerasan, khususnya kekerasan seksual dan pemerkosaan, merupakan isu kesehatan publik global yang menimbulkan dampak psikologis mendalam, termasuk gangguan stres pascatrauma (PTSD), depresi, dan kecemasan. Mengingat prevalensi dan konsekuensinya yang parah, intervensi konseling menjadi krusial untuk pemulihan trauma. Kajian literatur berbasis Systematic Literature Review (SLR) ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis strategi intervensi konseling yang efektif bagi korban kekerasan dan pemerkosaan. Menggunakan analisis bibliometrik dan visualisasi co-occurrence kata kunci dengan VOSviewer, studi ini mengidentifikasi pola-pola dan klaster tematik dalam literatur ilmiah yang relevan. Temuan utama menunjukkan fokus dominan pada penanganan dampak psikologis, dengan efektivitas intervensi berbasis internet (Internet-Based Trauma Recovery Nursing Intervention/IBTRNI), terapi berbasis perhatian (Mindfulness-Based Trauma Recovery for Refugees/MBTR-R), dan terapi kognitif-perilaku (CBT). Konsep penting lain yang muncul meliputi peran narasi pribadi, efikasi diri, keberdayaan (agensi), kasih sayang diri, dan dukungan sosial dalam memfasilitasi pemulihan. Meskipun demikian, stigma dan hambatan pencarian bantuan tetap menjadi tantangan signifikan. Kesimpulannya, intervensi konseling sangat penting dalam memitigasi gejala trauma dan mendorong pemulihan holistik, yang mencakup pemaknaan dan pemberdayaan diri. Penelitian lebih lanjut diperlukan untuk mengevaluasi adaptasi budaya dan dampak jangka panjang intervensi pada populasi yang lebih beragam
