This research aims to determine whether or not the implementation of Line Webtoon can enhance the reading comprehension of the eight grade students of SMP Negeri 4 Palu. The population of this research is the eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 4 Palu. The sample was VIII A as the experimental class and VIII B as the control class. The research applied the quantitative method. The instrument of the data collection was pre-test and post-test. Those data were analyzed statistically. The pre-test was at a low level, and the post-test was at a high level. The pre-test was low because the students had difficulties in reading comprehension. However, the post-test that at a high level because of the media can enhance students’ reading comprehension. The results of the data analysis show that the t-counted was greater than the t-table. In conclusion, using line webtoon can enhance students’ reading comprehension.

The purpose of this research is to prove that the Question-Answer Relationship (QAR) strategy is effective in improving reading comprehension of grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 3 Mepanga and to find out whether there was a significant difference between the experimental class and the control class in reading comprehension. The design of this research was quasi-experimental. The samples of this research consisted of 45 students who were selected by using cluster random sampling. The research instrument used to collect the data was a multiple-choice test which were divided into pre-test and post-test. The data were analyzed by using statistical analysis. The result of the data analysis shows that there was a significant effect on students’ reading comprehension after the treatment by applying the QAR strategy. It indicated the mean score of both test results where the mean score of the experimental class significantly improved from 38.75 to 63.75. Meanwhile, the mean score of the control class is from 30.00 to 40.00. Based on the result of the data analysis, the researcher found that the value of t-counted is 7.36. By applying a degree of freedom (df) 43 (24 + 21 – 2) and 0.05 level of significance, the researchers found that the value of the t-table is 1.68. It means that the hypothesis is accepted because the value of t-counted (7.36) is higher than the t-table (1.68). To conclude, the QAR strategy is effective in improving reading comprehension of grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 3 Mepanga.

The Songs can provide attractive and instructional media in learning activities. Song has been designed to motivate students to participate the English teaching and learning. The study aims to identify the students’ perception on using songs in teaching English. Interviews are conducted as the research instruments to get students’ perceptions towards English songs in teaching English. The interviews show that most students feel English songs are very helpful for them in improving their Speaking skill. They also feel that the English song they listen to have the power to encourage students' motivation to learn the. Correct pronunciation and learn English more deeply. In addition, the beauty of the tone and rhythm of the music also makes students feel happy and relaxed. They also feel that by listening to the lyrics of English song carefully, they can easily get information about the correct pronunciation from native speakers. It makes them enthusiastic and increases their interest in learning.

This research aimed to discover students’ perception of using YouTube as a Media for Learning and factors that can contribute to the use of YouTube as a learning media. Qualitative descriptive are used. The subjects of this research were 30 students of class X 7. Questionnaires and interviews were applied to collect data. The questionnaire consists of 30 questions; interviews were conducted as supporting data. Based on data analysis, data from the questionnaire shows that most students agree with the use of YouTube as a medium for learning English. Learning to use YouTube also gives students new experiences in learning and can overcome boredom in monotonous learning. The interview results also showed that students were happy and gained new experiences by using YouTube as a learning medium. The conclusion can be drawn that students agree that using YouTube can overcome boredom in class, increase interest in learning and gain new experiences

This research was conducted at grade eighth students of SMP Negeri 14 Palu in the teaching and learning process. This research aims to improve students' reading comprehension by using the Story Pyramid Strategy. The population in this research was grade eighth students of SMP Negeri 14 Palu. This research employs purposive sampling to select the sample. This research applies a quasi-experimental research design non-equivalent control group design, which consists of two groups: experimental and control group. The description of the data collected through the pre-test and post-test. The students’ scores after presenting the material using Story Pyramid Strategy in reading comprehension were better than before the treatment was given to the student . This strategy can be a learning media applied by teachers in the teaching and learning process as an effective strategy to improve students’ reading comprehension because the use of Story Pyramid Strategy makes it easier for students to understand the content of the story. The result of the data analysis is that t-count was higher than t-table. From these results, the researcher found there is a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test result. This means that the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted. This is proven by the improvement of students reading comprehension after being given treatment using story pyramid strategy.

This research is aimed to identify students’ problems of listening comprehension skill. The researcher took the third semester students as the respondents in this research. The research design used in this research is descriptive qualitative research. 15 students out of 294 students were selected as the respondents. They were given questionnaire to collect the data for this qualitative research. Questionnaire result was analyzed based on thematic analysis procedures. Questionnaire was done by given twenty assessment prepared. Based on the result of this research, the students had three major problems in learning listening comprehension, first length and speed and variety accent, second lack of vocabulary and the last is lack of concentration. From the results of these findings, the researcher suggests two strategies. First for the students, the students are expected to be able to practice and get used to hearing various accents and different speed variations. Regular vocabulary practice looking for relevant learning resources can improve students’ vocabulary and the last is prioritizing listening, active involvement, and applying concentration techniques can help students overcome concentration disorders and improve students’ listening comprehension. Second, for the lecturer by knowing students’ problems learning listening comprehension, the lecturer can effectively support students in improving their listening skills and achieve better results for students to learning listening comprehension skills.

The author conducted research with the aim of knowing and analyzing the effect of work skills, work commitment and work culture on work performance evaluation and their implications for the work effectiveness of the Agriculture Office of the City of Pagar Alam. The research method used in this study is a quantitative method using questionnaires distributed to respondents. Test the quality of the data by using the validity test, reliability test. Analysis using statistical calculations with multiple regression formula, partial test simultaneous test and the coefficient of determination. The results of the study showed that Work Skills had a significant effect on the performance appraisal of the Agriculture Office of the City of Pagar Alam. Work Commitment has no significant effect on the performance appraisal of the Pagar Alam City Agriculture Service employee. Work culture has no significant effect on the performance appraisal of the Pagar Alam City Agriculture Service employee. Work Skills have a significant effect on the effectiveness of the work of the Agriculture Office of the City of Pagar Alam. Work Commitment has a significant effect on the effectiveness of the work of the Agriculture Office of the City of Pagar Alam. Work culture has no significant effect on the work effectiveness of the Pagar Alam City Agriculture Service employees. Job Performance Assessment has a significant effect on the effectiveness of the work of the Pagar Alam City Agriculture Service employee.

Effective communication is importance in avoiding misunderstanding and misinterpretation in our daily life including a discussion in classroom activity. Some flouting and hedging can be happened in a discussion. Hence, this research concerns to investigate how the conversational implicatures especially flouting and hedging maxim are being formed in students dialog during discussion class. This research is designed as descriptive research. The participants are students of LRM’S class which consist of 18 students that chosen by purposive sampling. The data was collected through tape recorder and interview. The data are being transcribed and analyzed by categorizing utterances based on the flouting of maxim and hedging maxim theory. Based on the data analysis, it has been discovered that during the conversation, whether they are presenters or participant in the discussion, they do flouting and hedging. Flouting maxim is frequently done than hedging maxim. Then, it happens for some reasons including want to give a right information, do not understand with the question, want to give a clear and relevance answer and want to build good relationship among students and lecturer. This study is wanted to raise people awareness toward flouting and hedging maxim in order to have an effective communication in life.

Proses pembelajaran yang dilakukan guru adalah aspek terpenting dalam pelaksanaan pendidikan, karena hasil yang dicapai akan menjadi acuan bagi keberhasilan pendidikan, melalui outcome yang dihasilkan. Salah satu upaya dalam menghadapi pembelajaran khususnya dalam peningkatkan mutu pembelajaran, yakni literasi digital, self regulated learning, dan kompetensi Pedagogik Guru. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis pengaruh simultan dari ketiga faktor tersebut terhadap mutu pembelajaran, serta menentukan faktor mana yang memiliki pengaruh paling dominan. Dalam penelitian ini, digunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dan diambil data primer dari 53 sampel. Penelitian ini berlokasi di SMP Negeri Kecamatan Bambel. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan literasi digital berpengaruh signifikan terhadap mutu pembelajaran. Selain itu, kemampuan self regulated learning berpengaruh positif signifikan terhadap mutu pembelajaran. Selanjutnya, kompetensi pedagogik guru juga berperan signifikan positif terhadap mutu pembelajaran. Bahkan, secara bersama ketiga variabel ini berpengaruh positif signifikan terhadap mutu pembelajaran di SMPN se-Kecamatan Bambel.

The Pathok Negara Mosque has an important meaning in determining the boundaries of the Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat Sultanate as a dependent state. After the Giyanti Agreement, the Mataram Kingdom in Java was divided into two regions, namely the Surakarta Sunanate and the Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat Sultanate. As the first Sultan, Sultan Hamengkubuwana I began to build the Keraton as the center of government (Nagari Ngayogyakarta) and borders with the Great State (Negaragung) by building the Pathok Negara Mosque in the four corners. This study examines the meaning of Masjid Pathok Negara as a defense system for a new kingdom at that time. The research method is qualitative by looking directly at each Pathok Negara Mosque, analyzing, redrawing, reviewing data and then interpreting according to the relevant theory. The results obtained show that the meaning of the Pathok Negara Mosque as a state spirituality system is shown from the main function of the mosque as a center for spiritual and cultural development, the concept of kiblat papat limo pancer as a macro-microcosmos concept. The existence of physical forms and spaces in the mosque and the area around the Pathok Negara Mosque is an embodiment of values to maintain the spiritual community from that time until now.
