Abstract

The background of this study is based on the low ability of elementary school students to connect mathematical concepts with real-life experiences in daily contexts. In addition, previous studies on the implementation of experience-oriented learning models have shown inconsistent findings. Therefore, this study aims to systematically review the effectiveness of the Experiential Learning model in improving elementary students' mathematical problem-solving skills. This study employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method by identifying ten initial articles obtained from various national journal databases. These articles were then screened through four stages, namely initial data collection, preliminary analysis, selection or eligibility determination, and follow-up recommendations, based on topic relevance, alignment with research objectives, and methodological feasibility. From this process, three articles met all inclusion criteria and provided empirical evidence regarding the application of Experiential Learning in mathematics learning. The synthesis results indicate that the Experiential Learning model is effective in helping students understand problems, design solution strategies, and evaluate solutions reflectively through concrete experiences. In addition, this model also enhances student engagement, motivation, and independent learning in solving problems. However, limitations were found in teacher strategy variations, differences in student characteristics, and limited integration with digital media. Overall, the SLR results highlight the significant contribution of Experiential Learning to improving elementary students' mathematical problem-solving skills and recommend broader and more integrated implementation of this model.

Abstract

Spatial thinking is an important skill in geography learning, but student learning outcomes often show variations influenced by learning methods and media. This study aims to analyze the improvement of students' spatial thinking skills through the use of StoryMaps media using the non-parametric Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The study was conducted with a descriptive quantitative approach through pretest and posttest measurements on 30 students. Data were analyzed using the Shapiro–Wilk test to test for normality and the Wilcoxon test to see differences in abilities before and after learning. The results of the analysis showed a Z value of -4.793 with a significance of 0.000. Since the significance value of 0.000 <0.05, it was concluded that there was a significant increase in students' spatial thinking skills after participating in StoryMaps-based learning. These findings indicate that interactive geospatial media can make a real contribution to improving students' spatial understanding. Thus, the use of StoryMaps can be an effective alternative learning media, while further evaluation needs to consider additional variables to optimize learning outcomes.

Abstract

The use of technology-based learning media is a widely used strategy in early childhood education to support learning. This study aims to examine the relationship between the use of technology-based learning media and early childhood learning interest based on the perspective of early childhood teachers. The study uses a quantitative approach with an associative design. Data were collected using a four-point Likert-scale online questionnaire completed by 14 early childhood teachers in the Purwakarta and Bandung areas who actively use technology in learning. The research instrument was first tested for validity using corrected item–total correlations and for reliability using Cronbach’s alpha. Data analysis included the Kolmogorov–Smirnov normality test and Spearman’s correlation test. The analysis showed that all items in the instrument were valid and reliable. The Spearman correlation test yielded a correlation coefficient of 0.585 (p = 0.028; < 0.05), indicating a positive and significant relationship between the use of technology-based learning media and early childhood learning interest. These findings indicate an association between variations in technology use in learning and children’s interest in learning, as reflected in their attention, engagement, and enthusiasm during the learning process in a limited sample.

Abstract

Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan mendorong pengenalan coding dan berpikir komputasi di sekolah dasar. Namun banyak guru yang belum memiliki pengalaman dalam mengajarkan coding dan masih menganggap bahwa coding hanya relevan untuk mata pelajaran informatika atau teknologi, padahal coding dapat diterapkan secara lintas mata pelajaran dengan pendekatan Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Mathematics (STEAM) yang lebih kontekstual. Di sisi lain, keterbatasan infrastruktur digital, khususnya di sekolah-sekolah negeri di Kabupaten Purwakarta menjadi kendala utama dalam pelaksanaan pembelajaran coding. Sebagai solusinya, diselenggarakan lokakarya unplugged coding berbasis STEAM yang memungkinkan guru mengeksplorasi strategi pembelajaran berpikir komputasi tanpa bergantung pada perangkat elektronik. Metode pelaksanaan mencakup tahap persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi dengan peserta guru sekolah dasar di Kabupaten Purwakarta. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan teaching efficacy guru dalam mengajarkan coding melalui pembelajaran STEAM. Lokakarya ini diharapkan dapat memperkuat kompetensi profesional guru dalam menerapkan pembelajaran abad ke-21.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mempermudahkan pemahaman literasi numerasi siswa kelas 1 sekolah dasar pada materi bilangan asli melalui penggunaan media pembelajaran yang interaktif. Media ini bertujuan untuk membantu siswa agar dapat memvisualisasikan konsep penjumlahan bilangan asli kedalam kehidupan sehari-hari sehingga memudahkan mereka mengembangkan media pembelajaran melalui Canva Interaktif dengan materi penjumlahan bilangan aslidalam memahami materi pembelajaran tersebut.Penelitian ini menggunakan metode ADDIE yang meliputi tahap Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, dan Evaluation .Subjek penelitian dilakukan di SDN 6 Ciseureuh, Purwakarta.Instrumen pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan lembar validasi ahli materi, ahli media dan angket respon siswa. Data yang didapat kemudian di analisis secara kuantitatif dengan teknik persentase untuk menentukan kelayakan media tersebut. Dari hasil data validasi ahli materi sebesar 92,74% dan validasi dari ahli media sebesar 92,42% dengan kategori sangat valid. Kemudian ada angket respon siswa yang dimana memperoleh presentase 99,27% yang dimana presentase ini masuk kedalam kategori sangat praktis. Maka disimpulkan bahwa media Canva Interaktif yang dikembangkan oleh peneliti layak untuk digunakan dalam pembelajaran dan membantu pemahaman konsep bilangan asli pada kelas 1 sekolah dasar.Untuk penelitian selajutnya juga dapat menggunakan media yang menambahkan audio yang lebih berkualitas.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of congklak as a learning medium for the cognitive development of children aged 5-6 years. Using a quantitative method with a One Group Pretest-Posttest pre-experimental design, the study involved eleven children at the Kota Ilmu Plus Kindergarten. The intervention was carried out for three weeks with a frequency of once per week, a duration of 30-45 minutes per session. Data were collected through structured observations measuring the ability to count, problem solving, logical thinking, focus, and memory. The results showed a decrease in the average score from 20.82 (Developing According to Expectations) in the pre-test to 15.82 (Starting to Develop) in the post-test, with an increase in variance from 11.76 to 84.76. A paired sample t-test showed a significant difference (t=2.355; p=0.040<0.05). The analysis identified internal factors (cognitive maturity, emotional state, motivation, learning style, concentration, physical condition, previous experience) and external factors (student grouping, time management, lesson planning, teacher competence) that influence learning outcomes. The study concluded that the effectiveness of the congklak game is highly dependent on the suitability of the application to the individual characteristics of the child and requires attention to supporting learning factors. A differentiated approach that considers the child's cognitive-emotional readiness, adequate time allocation, and responsive teaching strategies to individual needs is needed.

Abstract

The limited ability of elementary school students to solve mathematical problems that require problem-solving skills has become a crucial issue in addressing the challenges of 21st-century education. This study aims to investigate the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on students’ mathematical problem-solving abilities at the elementary level. A quantitative approach was used with a quasi-experimental design of the nonequivalent control group type. The research sample consisted of two classes, VA and VC, from a public elementary school in Purwakarta Regency during the 2024/2025 academic year, with 25 students in each class. Class VA served as the experimental group and received instruction using the PBL model, while class VC, as the control group, was taught using the Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) cooperative learning model. Data were collected through essay tests developed based on Polya’s problem-solving stages, administered during both pretest and posttest. The analysis results showed a significant effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on enhancing the mathematical problemsolving abilities of elementary school students.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Dalam upaya meningkatkan minat dan pemahaman siswa terhadap Matematika, tantangan terbesar seringkali terletak pada sulitnya materi serta rendahnya motivasi belajar siswa. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan strategi pembelajaran yang inovatif dan menyenangkan. Artikel ini mengkaji tentang strategi menggunakan media pembelajaran interaktif khususnya GeoGebra dan Polypad untuk menciptakan suasana kelas Matematika yang lebih menarik, partisipatif, dan efektif dalam membantu siswa memahami konsep Matematika. GeoGebra, sebagai perangkat lunak Matematika, memungkinkan visualisasi geometri, aljabar, grafik, dan perhitungan Matematika secara simultan dalam satu platform. Banyak penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan GeoGebra terbukti efektif meningkatkan pemahaman konsep, kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis, serta motivasi belajar siswa. Dalam artikel ini, diuraikan berbagai strategi implementasi seperti pengembangan media pembelajaran interaktif berdasarkan model pengembangan (misalnya model ADDIE), integrasi aktivitas eksplorasi visual, latihan interaktif, serta pemberian tugas berbasis penemuan (discovery learning). Polypad sebagai media pembelajaran interaktif, juga diusulkan untuk melengkapi GeoGebra, sehingga siswa dapat lebih mudah memanipulasi objek Matematika secara visual, bereksperimen, bereksplorasi, dan melihat hubungan antar konsep dengan cara lebih konkret. Dengan pendekatan ini, kelas Matematika tidak lagi terasa kaku atau monoton, melainkan menjadi lingkungan belajar yang aktif dan menyenangkan. Artikel ini menyimpulkan bahwa strategi pembelajaran Matematika dengan media interaktif GeoGebra dan Polypad dapat meningkatkan aspek kognitif (pemahaman konsep, kemampuan problem solving) maupun afektif (minat, motivasi, partisipasi siswa). Oleh karena itu, guru disarankan menggunakan media serta strategi tersebut ke dalam praktik pembelajaran sehari-hari, khususnya di era digital dan pendidikan abad 21-abadi ini.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the need for engaging and interactive digital mathematics learning media to support the learning process of first grade elementary school students, particularly in data analysis topics. The study aimed to examine the validity and practicality of Canva- and Genially-based mathematics learning media developed using Bruner’s Learning Theory. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, which includes analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The research subjects consisted of material experts, media experts, and first grade elementary school students. Data were collected using expert validation sheets and student response questionnaires. The results showed that the learning media achieved an average validity score of 92.56%, categorized as very valid, and a practicality score of 90.43%, categorized as very practical. These findings indicate that the developed media is feasible and can help support contextual, visual, and interactive mathematics learning. The implication of this study is the availability of digital learning media that facilitates teachers and students in the implementation of data analysis learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and determine the feasibility and practicality of interactive Canva-based mathematics learning media on the topic of length measurement for third-grade elementary school students. The research employed a qualitative descriptive method using the ADDIE development model, which consists of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The learning media was developed based on Bruner’s learning theory, incorporating enactive, iconic, and symbolic stages to support students' understanding from concrete to abstract concepts. Data were collected through expert validation sheets, student response questionnaires, and classroom observations. The results of expert validation showed an average feasibility score of 94% indicating that the media was categorized as very valid. In addition, student responses showed a practicality score of 85,83%, categorized as very practical. These findings indicate that the interactive Canva-based learning media is visually attractive, easy to use, and effective in facilitating students' understanding of length measurement. However, minor technical revisions were required, particularly related to audio clarity and sound variation. Overall, the developed learning media is feasible to be used as an alternative learning resource in elementary mathematics instruction.
