Abstract

The integration of faith, knowledge, and action is a fundamental principle in Islamic education that aims to develop individuals holistically by balancing spiritual, intellectual, and practical dimensions of life. This concept emphasizes that faith (iman) serves as the foundation of belief and moral guidance, knowledge (ilm) functions as a means of understanding and navigating life, and action (amal) represents the practical manifestation of faith and knowledge. The purpose of this paper is to examine the significance of integrating these three elements within the framework of Islamic education and their role in shaping responsible, ethical, and productive individuals. Using a descriptive and conceptual approach, the study explores the interrelationship among faith, knowledge, and action based on Islamic teachings and educational principles. The findings indicate that faith provides direction and purpose, knowledge enhances understanding and decision-making, and action transforms beliefs and knowledge into meaningful contributions to society. The study further highlights that effective Islamic education should not focus solely on academic achievement but also on character formation, moral development, and social responsibility. The integration of faith, knowledge, and action contributes to the development of balanced individuals who are capable of addressing contemporary challenges while maintaining strong spiritual values. Therefore, educational institutions, families, and communities should collaborate in promoting this integrated approach to ensure the cultivation of competent, ethical, and socially responsible generations. Ultimately, the harmonious integration of faith, knowledge, and action serves as a foundation for achieving success in both worldly life and the hereafter.

Abstract

This study develops the Muhammadiyah Institutional Resilience Framework (MIRF), a multidimensional model designed to strengthen the sustainability and competitiveness of Islamic higher education institutions in the era of digital disruption and global competition. The framework integrates six strategic dimensions: academic excellence, financial sustainability, human resource development, digital transformation, governance resilience, and Muhammadiyah Islamic values. The study is motivated by the growing need for universities to move beyond traditional performance indicators and adopt a holistic resilience-oriented governance model that can respond adaptively to crises, policy changes, technological shifts, and societal demands. Using a qualitative-conceptual approach supported by literature review and institutional analysis, the study synthesizes theories of organizational resilience, higher education governance, digital transformation, and Islamic educational values. The resulting MIRF proposes that institutional sustainability is achieved when academic quality, financial health, technological readiness, effective governance, and value-based leadership operate in an integrated manner. Muhammadiyah values such as integrity, social responsibility, innovation, and service to society function as the ethical foundation that aligns organizational resilience with the broader mission of Islamic education. The framework contributes to the literature on higher education management by offering a context-sensitive model for Islamic universities, particularly within the Muhammadiyah network. Practically, MIRF can serve as a strategic planning tool, an institutional evaluation instrument, and an early warning system for assessing university resilience. The study also proposes the development of an Institutional Resilience Index to operationalize the framework in future empirical research. By combining managerial and spiritual dimensions, MIRF provides a comprehensive approach to building sustainable, adaptive, and value-driven higher education institutions.

Abstract

This study investigates the emotional and professional impacts of teaching on novice lecturers at Universitas Muhammadiyah Enrekang, focusing on the process of identity transformation. New lecturers face numerous emotional and professional challenges, including stress, role ambiguity, and feelings of isolation, particularly during the initial years of teaching. This research adopts a qualitative approach, using semi-structured interviews with 22 novice lecturers from various academic disciplines to gain insights into their experiences. The study found that institutional support, particularly mentorship from the Chair of the Department and peer collaboration, plays a crucial role in helping lecturers navigate these challenges and develop a professional identity. Although the institution provides some support, findings suggest that more structured mentorship and additional resources are necessary to better support novice lecturers. The study contributes to existing literature on the identity formation of novice lecturers, especially in non-Western academic settings, and highlights the need for tailored support strategies that address the specific challenges faced by new faculty members. These insights are valuable for improving institutional practices and enhancing the professional satisfaction and development of novice lecturers.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of participatory learning models in equality education at PKBM Melati, Enrekang Regency. The study focuses on the learning process, the roles of tutors and learners, and the factors influencing its implementation. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings reveal that participatory learning has been partially implemented, particularly in the learning process through discussions, experience sharing, and contextual problem-solving activities. However, learner involvement in planning and evaluation stages remains limited, indicating that the participatory cycle has not been fully applied. Tutors have begun to act as facilitators, although their role is still partially dominant. Learners show increased engagement, but participation levels vary due to differences in confidence and learning readiness. Supporting factors include learner motivation, positive social interaction, and flexible learning environments, while inhibiting factors involve limited tutor competence, time constraints, and inadequate learning facilities. The study concludes that participatory learning has the potential to enhance engagement and empowerment, but requires more comprehensive implementation and institutional support to achieve optimal outcomes in nonformal education.

Abstract

This study aimed the effectiveness of an ADDIE-based Islamic Education curriculum model in improving learning quality in five Madrasah Aliyah in South Sulawesi, Indonesia. A quantitative approach was employed using a quasi-experimental nonequivalent control group design. Participants included Islamic Education teachers and students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through achievement tests, student engagement questionnaires, and curriculum implementation assessment instruments. Analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics, independent sample t-tests, and N-gain scores to measure learning improvements. The results reveal that the experimental group significantly outperformed the control group, with higher post-test scores (M = 84.76) compared to pre-test scores (M = 63.42) and an N-gain of 0.58, while the control group showed lower improvement (M = 71.45; N-gain = 0.23). The difference was statistically significant (t = 8.41; p < 0.05), indicating the effectiveness of the ADDIE-based model in enhancing learning outcomes. The study extends instructional design theory by demonstrating that the ADDIE model can be effectively contextualized within Islamic Education without compromising value-based learning objectives. Practically, it supports teachers in improving instructional planning, implementation, and evaluation processes in madrasah contexts.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technologies has transformed educational systems worldwide, creating opportunities for innovative teaching, learning, and knowledge management. Nevertheless, disparities in digital access, infrastructure availability, and technological readiness remain significant challenges, particularly in Islamic elementary education. These challenges affect the quality of science learning and limit students’ ability to develop scientific literacy, digital competence, critical thinking, and other twenty-first-century skills. Therefore, this study aims to examine the role of regional data centers in supporting sustainable digital pedagogy and enhancing digital literacy through innovative science learning models in Islamic elementary schools. This study employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) to synthesize evidence from national and international scholarly publications on digital pedagogy, regional data infrastructure, Islamic education, and science learning innovation. The review included peer-reviewed journal articles, conference proceedings, policy papers, and academic reports published between 2015 and 2025. The collected literature was analyzed using thematic coding and content analysis to identify major trends, opportunities, and challenges associated with implementing regional data centers in educational settings. The findings indicate that regional data centers significantly improve digital accessibility, strengthen data security, support cloud-based educational services, and enhance the efficiency of learning management systems. Furthermore, innovative pedagogical approaches such as blended learning, inquiry-based learning, project-based learning, and artificial intelligence-assisted learning were found to improve students’ scientific understanding, digital literacy, problem-solving skills, and collaborative competencies. The study also reveals that regional digital infrastructure can reduce educational disparities between urban and rural schools by providing more equitable access to digital resources and learning platforms. In conclusion, regional data centers serve as strategic enablers of sustainable digital pedagogy and digital transformation in Islamic elementary science education. Strengthening collaboration among educational institutions, policymakers, technology providers, and local governments, along with sustained investment in digital infrastructure and teacher professional development, is essential for building inclusive, resilient, and future-oriented educational ecosystems. Keywords: Regional Data Centers; Digital Pedagogy; Islamic Education; Digital Literacy; Science Learning
