Abstract

Background: Violent behavior is a common problem among patients with mental disorders and may endanger the patient, other people, and the surrounding environment. It is influenced by emotional disturbances, hallucinations, delusions, psychosocial stress, medication nonadherence, and limited family support. This systematic review aimed to identify violent behavior management strategies for patients with mental disorders through psychiatric nursing approaches based on evidence-based practice. Methods: This review followed the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) approach. Literature was searched in Google Scholar, PubMed, ScienceDirect, and ProQuest using the keywords “violent behavior”, “aggression”, “psychiatric nursing”, “mental disorder”, and “nursing intervention”. Eligible full-text articles in Indonesian or English were published between 2020 and 2025. Results: Effective psychiatric nursing approaches included therapeutic communication, de-escalation techniques, group activity therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, relaxation therapy, spiritual approaches, and family support. These interventions helped patients recognize anger warning signs, improve emotional control, reduce aggressiveness, and prevent recurrence. Conclusion: A holistic and continuous psychiatric nursing approach is effective for managing violent behavior and supporting rehabilitation and recovery.

Abstract

This article presents a comprehensive SWOT analysis of the "Perubahan Diri dari Hati" (PERIH) program implemented at SMAN 1 Long Bagun, Mahakam Ulu Regency, East Kalimantan. The PERIH program is a school innovation that prioritizes an educational consequence approach as a humanistic alternative to conventional punishment in order to shape student character and discipline. This program is rooted in the philosophy of Ki Hadjar Dewantara and is reinforced by the theory of Positive Discipline and Restorative Practices International. Data were collected through a qualitative descriptive approach using direct observation, semi- structured in-depth interviews, and a Likert-scale Google Form questionnaire (1–5). Data were then analyzed using the interactive analysis model of Miles and Huberman (1994). The findings indicate that the program has strong philosophical and institutional strengths, supported by collaboration across school actors. However, weaknesses include the consistency of standard operating procedures (SOPs), limited supporting facilities, and the absence of a formal evaluation system. Opportunities are wide open through the Independent Curriculum policy and the potential for program replication to other border schools. The main threats stem from the flood-prone geographical conditions and sustainability risks due to personnel turnover. A development strategy based on the SWOT matrix (SO, WO, ST, WT) was formulated to ensure continued quality improvement and program sustainability.

Abstract

Student conflict is a common phenomenon in schools due to differences in character, interests, and perspectives in social interactions. The most common conflict resolution approach is punishment-oriented, but this often fails to develop students' social skills and character. Therefore, an approach that utilizes cultural values ​​as an educational means of conflict resolution is needed. The purpose of this study is to analyze the value of deliberation in Indonesian culture as a strategy for resolving student conflict through an ethnopedagogical approach. The research was conducted through a literature review, reviewing relevant scientific sources such as books, journals, and documents. Data analysis was conducted to gain a deeper understanding of the relationship between the value of deliberation, student conflict, and ethnopedagogy. The findings demonstrate that deliberation, as part of Indonesian culture, embodies the values ​​of tolerance, democracy, mutual cooperation, responsibility, and consensus, which are relevant to student conflict resolution. With an ethnopedagogical approach, the value of deliberation can be instilled as part of character education to encourage conflict resolution that leads to mutual agreement. Therefore, the value of deliberation has the potential to become a contextual conflict resolution strategy for students that is in accordance with the character of Indonesian culture.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the development of research on quality management systems in education, identify the factors influencing successful implementation, and examine their implications for vocational school management. The study employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method following the PRISMA 2020 guidelines. Literature searches were conducted through Scopus, Web of Science, ERIC, Dimensions, Google Scholar, and Crossref databases, covering publications from 2020 to 2025. The initial search identified 486 articles. After duplicate removal, screening, and eligibility assessment, 58 articles met the inclusion criteria and were analyzed. The findings indicate that quality management systems contribute significantly to improving educational service quality, school management effectiveness, stakeholder satisfaction, human resource performance, and student achievement. The most influential factors affecting successful implementation include leadership, quality culture, human resource competence, information technology utilization, stakeholder involvement, and continuous evaluation. The study demonstrates that an integrated quality management system strengthens school governance and enhances institutional competitiveness. The findings provide a conceptual foundation for the development of quality management systems at SMK Negeri 1 Kongbeng, Kutai Timur Regency, to support sustainable and high-quality vocational education.

Abstract

This study aimed to: (1) describe the implementation of the Question Student Have (QSH) cooperative learning model assisted by single-image media in science and social studies (IPAS) learning for fifth-grade students at SDN Duri Sangge; and (2) determine the improvement in students' IPAS learning outcomes after the implementation of the learning model. This study employed Classroom Action Research (CAR), conducted in two cycles, each consisting of the stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The participants were all 28 fifth-grade students of SDN Duri Sangge. The research instruments included observation sheets for teacher and student activities, learning achievement tests, and documentation. Data were collected through observation, tests, and documentation. The data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative analysis for teacher and student activities, while students' learning outcomes were analyzed using descriptive quantitative analysis based on the percentage of learning mastery with a Minimum Learning Achievement Criterion (KKTP) of 75. The results indicated that the implementation of the Question Student Have (QSH) cooperative learning model assisted by single-image media improved the quality of the IPAS learning process. Teacher activity increased from 77% in Cycle I to 97.77% in Cycle II, while student activity improved from 64% to 98.33%. Furthermore, students' learning outcomes showed a significant improvement, as reflected in the increase in the average score from 75.54 in Cycle I to 90.36 in Cycle II, with the percentage of learning mastery rising from 67.86% to 100%. Therefore, the Question Student Have (QSH) cooperative learning model assisted by single-image media is effective in improving both student participation and learning outcomes in IPAS at the elementary school level.

Abstract

Early reading skill is a foundational literacy capability in primary education. However, many first-grade students still experience difficulties in mastering basic reading due to unstimulating visual media during instruction. This study aims to analyze the improvement of early reading skills among first-grade students at SDN 024 Salupaku through the implementation of picture media (Big Book). A Classroom Action Research (CAR) design following the Kemmis and McTaggart model was conducted with 25 first-grade students (10 males and 15 females) as research subjects. Data were collected using performance tests, systematic observations, and audio-visual recordings, then analyzed through descriptive qualitative and quantitative techniques. The findings revealed a significant enhancement in student reading performance across cycles. In Cycle I, the average class score reached 73.4 with a classical completeness rate of 64% (moderate category), which failed to meet the target minimum indicator of 75%. Following refined interventions in Cycle II, the average class score increased to 89.72 with a 100% classical completeness rate (very high category). The evaluation across four key parameters pronunciation, intonation, fluency, and voice clarity demonstrated substantial progress. It is concluded that the implementation of picture media effectively enhances the early reading skills of first-grade elementary students

Abstract

The quality of student learning at the elementary school level, particularly in grade III which is a transitional phase from concrete to abstract learning, requires an optimal synergy between the role of teachers at school and parents at home. This study aims to describe and analyze the optimization of the roles of teachers and parents in improving the learning quality of grade III students at UPTD SDN 58 Kappang. A descriptive qualitative method was employed with data collection techniques including participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The research subjects included grade III teachers, the school principal, parents, and students. The results indicate that teacher role optimization is carried out through adaptive learning planning, varied teaching methods, and intensive communication with parents. Meanwhile, parent role optimization is manifested through learning assistance at home, creating a conducive learning environment, and active participation in school programs. Supporting factors include mutual commitment, open two-way communication, and parental understanding of child development. Inhibiting factors include time constraints, educational background limitations, and limited access to information. This study emphasizes the importance of building strategic partnerships between schools and families as a sustainable effort to improve the quality of basic education.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low learning outcomes of students at SDN 123 Bangko, especially in the learning process that is still teacher-centered and less varied. This study aims to determine the effect of the role-playing method in improving student learning outcomes at SDN 123 Bangko. The method used in this research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which refers to the Kemmis and McTaggart model, consisting of two cycles with four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study were 17 grade V students at SDN 123 Bangko, consisting of 10 male students and 7 female students. Data collection techniques used observation sheets, learning outcome tests, and documentation. The results showed that the application of the role-playing method could improve student learning outcomes. In the pre-cycle, the average student learning outcome was 55.3 with a classical completeness of 29.4%. After the implementation of Cycle I, the average increased to 68.2 with a classical completeness of 58.8%, and in Cycle II it increased to 81.5 with a classical completeness of 88.2%. Thus, it can be concluded that the role-playing method has a positive effect on improving student learning outcomes at SDN 123 Bangko.

Abstract

This classroom action research was motivated by the low reading interest of third-grade students at SDN 040 Salulemo, North Luwu Regency. The purpose of this study was to improve students' reading interest through the use of a reading corner (pojok baca). The research method used was Classroom Action Research (CAR) with the Kemmis and McTaggart model design which was carried out in two cycles. The subjects of this study were 25 third-grade students. Data collection techniques used observation, questionnaires, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out descriptively quantitatively and qualitatively. The results showed that in cycle 1 the percentage of students' reading interest reached 62% in the sufficient category, then increased in cycle 2 to 84% in the good category. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the use of the reading corner can improve the reading interest of third-grade students at SDN 040 Salulemo, North Luwu Regency.
