Abstract

This study aims to examine the effects of digital marketing adaptation and product innovation on the competitive advantage of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Sinjai Regency, Indonesia, and to investigate the moderating role of Al-Falah values. A quantitative approach was employed using a survey method involving 220 MSME owners. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with SmartPLS 4.0. The results indicate that digital marketing adaptation has a positive and significant effect on competitive advantage (β = 0.215; p < 0.05), while product innovation shows a stronger positive effect (β = 0.355; p < 0.05). Al-Falah values also have a positive and significant direct effect on competitive advantage (β = 0.325; p < 0.05). The structural model demonstrates strong predictive power, with an R² value of 0.712, indicating that 71.2% of the variance in competitive advantage is explained by the proposed model. However, the moderating effects of Al-Falah values on the relationship between digital marketing adaptation and competitive advantage (β = −0.014; p > 0.05), as well as between product innovation and competitive advantage (β = −0.020; p > 0.05), are not statistically significant. These findings suggest that digital marketing adaptation and product innovation independently enhance MSMEs’ competitive advantage, while Al-Falah values primarily function as an ethical foundation rather than a reinforcing moderator. This study contributes to the literature by integrating Islamic ethical values into a digital competitiveness framework and offers practical implications for strengthening sustainable MSME competitiveness.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the low Civics learning outcomes of third-grade students at SD Negeri 13 Kerinci Kanan, Siak. The study aimed to examine the improvement of Civics learning outcomes through the application of the Index Card Match method among third-grade students at SD Negeri 13 Kerinci Kanan, Siak. The research was conducted over a period of one month. The subjects of this study were six third-grade students in the 2015–2016 academic year, consisting of five male students and one female student. The research employed a classroom action research design. The research instruments included performance instruments and data collection tools in the form of teacher and student activity observation sheets. Based on the results and discussion, the implementation of active learning strategies using the Index Card Match type was proven to enhance students’ learning motivation. Teacher activity in Cycle I achieved a score of 36, categorized as good, while in Cycle II it increased to a score of 44, categorized as very good. Student learning motivation in Cycle I obtained an average score of 52.8, classified as high, and increased significantly in Cycle II with an average score of 80.6, also categorized as high. In Cycle I, the classroom action research had not yet achieved the expected success indicators; however, in Cycle II, the research was considered successful as the achievement indicator of 75.0% was exceeded. These findings indicate that the application of active learning strategies using the Index Card Match method is effective in increasing motivation to learn Civics among third-grade students at SD Negeri 13 Kerinci Kanan, Siak.

Abstract

The research analyzes cultural hybridity in Southeast Asian animated storytelling through an assessment of Raya and the Last Dragon film. Structural narrative analysis and visual semiotics techniques are used to evaluate how the film delivers Southeast Asian identity perspectives to non-regional audiences. The analysis of the movie employs Claude Lévi-Strauss’s binary opposition framework to reveal cultural tensions between trust and betrayal and unity and fragmentation which repeatedly appear in the text. The film's visual design combines various Southeast Asian cultural elements into an original unified imagery which includes architectural designs and weapons and magical creatures alongside costume styles. Rather than offering a descriptive reading of narrative alone, this study decodes how hybrid representations shape ideological messages. This study contributes to global media representation studies via analysis that back up accurate representation of culture with observation both of precise and truthful material, as well as within viewing audience. This paper uses narrative theory and visual cultural analysis for studying transnational animation as it presents cultural pride and ideology through interdisciplinary methodologies.

Abstract

This research aims to explore and analyze the strategies implemented by the West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Department of Education and Culture (Dikbud) in creating education that is free from conflict and harmony. Using a descriptive qualitative methodology with a case study approach, this research found that increased communication between stakeholders, character education, and mediation as the main approaches in conflict resolution have succeeded in creating a conducive learning environment. Apart from that, the use of local wisdom and application of the principles of social justice and inclusiveness are important factors in reducing educational disparities. The research results show that these strategies not only increase harmonious relationships between educators, students, parents and the community, but also contribute to the development of student character. This research recommends strengthening mediation programs, more active community involvement, and inclusive education policies to ensure the continuation of peaceful education in NTB.

Abstract

This article critically examines the authority of Ḥusayn al-Dhahabī in framing tafsīr ishārī through his work al-Tafsīr wa al-Mufassirūn. The study finds that al-Dhahabī’s critical stance toward tafsīr ishārī is not entirely grounded in an adequate conceptual understanding, as evidenced by his own admission regarding his limited familiarity with Sufi terminology and epistemology. This limitation has implications for the objectivity of Qur’anic exegetical historiography, particularly in its representation of the Sufi exegetical tradition. Employing a qualitative-descriptive approach through historiographical analysis and epistemological critique of the text, this article argues for the necessity of rereading al-Dhahabī’s work within a more open and contextual methodological framework, so that tafsīr ishārī is not reduced merely to a deviation from the literal meaning of the Qur’an.

Abstract

This research explores the extent to which Abu Yusuf’s ideas in Al-Kharaj relate to contemporary taxation practices, particularly those involving the principles of justice, public benefit, trustworthiness, and the avoidance of excessive tax burdens on society. The study also investigates public perceptions of modern tax calculation systems and examines how Abu Yusuf’s values may influence taxpayer compliance today. Employing a qualitative method supported by open-ended questionnaires, this study seeks to capture respondents’ subjective interpretations and lived experiences regarding the current tax system. The findings reveal that Abu Yusuf’s taxation concepts remain highly relevant within Indonesia’s modern fiscal context, especially in promoting fairness and accountability in the management of public funds. Although modern tax regulations have been crafted to reflect these principles, practical obstacles remain, including perceptions of unequal public services, limited digital literacy, and a sense that tax obligations are not always distributed equitably. Furthermore, the results indicate that moral values, trust in governmental institutions, and the ethical conduct of tax officials significantly shape voluntary taxpayer compliance. These insights underscore the importance of consistently upholding justice, transparency, and responsible governance to enhance public adherence to tax obligations.

Abstract

Social justice remains a central concern in today’s global context, marked by persistent structural inequalities, imbalanced power relations, and the ongoing marginalization of vulnerable communities. Within Qur’anic studies, addressing this issue requires an interpretive framework that moves beyond purely normative or legalistic readings, toward an approach that engages the social and ethical dimensions embedded in the text. This article examines how the Qur’an’s narrative descriptions shape an understanding of social justice values and explores the ways in which these values can be meaningfully contextualized within contemporary social realities. Employing a qualitative descriptive method through library research and narrative analysis, this study focuses on Qur’anic verses that articulate themes of social justice. The findings reveal that the Qur’an’s narrative structure articulates social relationships, critiques systemic injustice, and emphasizes collective moral responsibility in a manner that transcends historical boundaries. When related to modern issues such as economic disparity, exploitation, and systemic oppression, these values demonstrate strong reflective and transformative potential. Consequently, this study contributes to the development of narrative-based approaches in Qur’anic scholarship and proposes a more accessible and contextually relevant model for interpreting verses on social justice in modern social discourse
