Abstract

The rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI), particularly ChatGPT, has sparked interest in its application in education. This study aims to investigate the potential of ChatGPT in helping students understand and solve physics problems, focusing on the Test of Understanding Graphs in Kinematics and the Determining and Interpreting Resistive Electric Circuit Concepts Test. The study involved 25 physics education students who completed these tests independently and with ChatGPT's assistance. The results revealed that students with a strong foundational understanding and reflective abilities interacted more effectively with ChatGPT, leading to improved answers and deeper conceptual understanding. In contrast, students with weaker prior knowledge tended to accept ChatGPT’s answers without critical reflection, perpetuating errors. Furthermore, ChatGPT showed limitations in interpreting image-based questions, reading scales, and providing consistent responses to concept-specific queries. These findings suggest that while ChatGPT has the potential to enhance learning, it requires thoughtful integration, particularly in helping students develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Teachers are encouraged to use ChatGPT’s limitations to design assessments that minimize the risk of cheating and foster deeper understanding. In conclusion, this study underscores the importance of combining AI tools with strong conceptual foundations and active reflection to optimize learning outcomes in physics education. Future research should focus on refining strategies for using AI in education to address its current limitations and enhance its effectiveness in complex learning scenarios.

Abstract

The development of students' creative thinking in physics remains a challenge due to the dominance of conventional instructional methods that lack interactive and contextual engagement. This study addresses the urgent need for innovative digital learning resources by developing an interactive physics e-book based on the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model, focusing on optical device topics. The objective is to enhance students’ creative thinking skills through student-centered learning integrated with digital platforms. Using the ADDIE development framework (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation), the e-book was designed and validated for its design, content, construct, and creative thinking assessment tools. Validation results showed high Aiken’s V scores across all components, indicating strong validity. Effectiveness was tested through a quasi-experimental approach involving 35 senior high school students, using pretest and posttest instruments. The N-Gain scores for both modeling (0.702) and implementation classes (0.707) demonstrated significant improvements in students’ creative thinking, categorized as high. The novelty of this study lies in the integration of Heyzine and Liveworksheet platforms with PhET virtual labs, providing an interactive, accessible, and collaborative learning environment. The findings suggest that the developed PBL-based e-book effectively facilitates contextual learning and fosters creative problem-solving skills. In conclusion, this e-book serves as a validated and impactful instructional tool that contributes meaningfully to physics education by promoting higher-order thinking through innovative digital pedagogy.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh digitalisasi terhadap peningkatan kualitas pelayanan penumpang di Terminal Penumpang Pelabuhan Murhum Baubau. Kualitas pelayanan diukur menggunakan lima dimensi SERVQUAL, yaitu bukti fisik (tangibles), keandalan (reliability), daya tanggap (responsiveness), jaminan (assurance), dan empati (empathy). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan pendekatan survei terhadap 100 responden yang merupakan pengguna jasa terminal. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan meliputi uji validitas, reliabilitas, dan uji chi-square untuk mengetahui hubungan antara digitalisasi dengan masing-masing dimensi kualitas pelayanan. Dengan menggunakan uji Chi-Square, penelitian ini mengidentifikasi ada atau tidaknya hubungan yang signifikan variabel digitalisasi terhadap variabel kualitas pelayanan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa digitalisasi memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap dimensi bukti fisik, keandalan, dan jaminan, dengan nilai signifikansi < 0,05. Namun, digitalisasi tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap dimensi daya tanggap dan empati, yang ditunjukkan dengan nilai signifikansi > 0,05. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa meskipun digitalisasi mampu meningkatkan aspek fisik dan kepercayaan terhadap pelayanan, namun belum mampu meningkatkan aspek interaksi dan kepedulian petugas terhadap penumpang secara personal. Temuan ini memberikan implikasi bagi peningkatan pelayanan publik berbasis digital agar tidak hanya fokus pada efisiensi sistem, tetapi juga pada pendekatan yang lebih humanis.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an electronic book (e-book) based on the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) approach to enhance students' conceptual understanding and digital literacy on the topic of work and energy. Responding to the growing demand for interactive and student-centered learning media in physics education, the e-book is designed to serve as a learning resource that fosters engagement in problem-solving and critical thinking. The research adopts the ADDIE development model, comprising Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation, and applies a quantitative approach using a one-group pretest-posttest design. Participants in this study were tenth-grade students from State Senior High School 9, Yogyakarta. Data were collected through the use of the developed e-book, conceptual understanding tests, digital literacy questionnaires, and student response surveys. Validators rated the e-book as “highly valid” and suitable for use. The implementation results showed a significant improvement in students' conceptual understanding, with an N-gain score of 0.71, which falls into the high category. Additionally, there was an improvement in digital literacy, with an N-gain score of 0.66, which also falls into the high category. The effectiveness of this e-book was also tested using a T-test and showed significant improvements before and after learning for both variables. Additionally, students responded positively, finding the e-book engaging, easy to access, and beneficial in supporting their learning process. These preliminary findings indicate that the PBL-based e-book has the potential to be an effective learning tool for high school physics education.    Keywords: e-book, problem-based learning, work and energy, conceptual understanding, digital literacy.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the Learning Cycle 5E model assisted by PhET simulations in improving students’ critical thinking skills and science literacy on the topic of sound waves. A quasi-experimental design was used with three classes: an experimental class (Learning Cycle 5E + PhET), control class 1 (Learning Cycle 5E only), and control class 2 (direct instruction). Classes were randomly selected from grade XI students at SMA Negeri 1 Piyungan. Instruments consisted of a critical thinking essay test and a science literacy multiple-choice test, each covering four indicators and validated using Quest. PhET simulations (“Sound” and “Wave on a String”) were integrated from the exploration to evaluation phases. The Kruskal-Wallis test showed significant differences between groups (p = 0.001). The experimental class achieved the highest posttest scores: 90.68 (SD = ±4.8) in critical thinking and 68.92 (SD = ±6.2) in science literacy. The most significant improvements occurred in evaluating arguments and understanding science concepts. These results suggest that integrating PhET simulations into the Learning Cycle 5E model effectively enhances students’ conceptual understanding, critical thinking, and science literacy. This approach can be recommended as an alternative learning strategy in physics education, particularly for abstract and complex topics.

Abstract

Permasalahan berkaitan dengan efektivitas Pengelolaan Dana Bantuan Operasional Sekolah terhadap Peningkatan Sarana dan Prasarana meliputi Kurangnya pemeliharaan dan perawatan terhadap sarana dan prasarana, Pergerakan yang kurang optimal dilihat, Alokasi Anggaran Dana BOS yang tidak Proporsional, Pengawasan Kepala Sekolah yang kurang optimal. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui efektivitas Pengelolaan Dana Bantuan Operasional Sekolah terhadap Peningkatan sarana dan prasarana pada Sekolah Dasar Negeri Merah Kecamatan Awayan Kabupaten Balangan dan faktor yang mempengaruhi. Metode penelitian ini deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Penentuan informan secara Purposive Sampling, teknik analisis adalah reduksi, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan efektivitas Pengelolaan Dana Bantuan Operasional Sekolah terhadap Peningkatan Sarana dan Prasarana pada Sekolah Dasar Negeri Merah Kecamatan Awayan Kabupaten Balangan kurang efektif dilihat dari beberapa aspek yakni: Pertama, Perencanaan meliputi tujuan pengelolaan Dana BOS berjalan cukup efektif, Prosedur Pengelolaan Program efektif, Kedua, Pengorganisasian meliputi struktur organisasi pengelola Dana BOS cukup efektif, pembagian tugas kurang efektif, Ketiga, Penggerakan meliputi pelaksanaan tugas dan tanggung jawab belum efektif, komunikasi kurang efektif, Keempat, Pengawasan meliputi pelaksanaan pengawasan kurang efektif, evaluasi kurang efektif. Faktor yang mempengaruhi meliputi faktor penghambat: Pertama, alokasi anggaran Dana BOS tidak proporsional terhadap perlengkapan olahraga, Kedua, Pelaksanaan tugas dan tanggung jawab kurang efektif dikarenakan minimnya koordinasi antara guru, komite, dan orang tua siswa, Ketiga, Pembagian Tugas kurang efektif dikarenakan beban kerja yang tidak merata, kemudian faktor pendukung meliputi pertama, tujuan yang jelas dalam Program Dana BOS, ketersediaan SOP dan Panduan Pengelolaan Dana BOS.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influense of the type of manure and the age of seedlings on the growth and yield of cayenne pepper plants (Capsicum frutescent L). This research was conducted in Bayalangu Kidul Village, Subdistricts of Gegesik, District of Cirebon – West Java, from March until Juny 2018. The Method used to experimental method using a Rendomized Blok Design patterns, treatment consists of two factors were repeted three times. The first factor is a type of manure consists of chicken manure, goat manure and cow manure. While the second factor is age of seed consists of age of seed 20, 30 and 40 days after seedling. The results of the study showed the real difference between types of manure and age of seedlings against plant height, number of leaves, number of fruit cropping and planting as well as fruit weight cropping and planting. On the treatment A (chicken manure and 20 days after seedling), B (chicken manure and 30 days after seedling), C (chicken manure and 40 days after seedling), E (goat manure and 30 days after seedling) and F (goat manure and 40 days after seedling) increase the weight of the fruit.

Abstract

This community service program aims to improve sustainable access to clean water and strengthen community independence through the Muhammadiyah Drinking Water Program (PAMMU) in Kadipiro Village, Sambirejo District, Sragen Regency. The method employed was Participatory Action Research (PAR), which emphasizes the active involvement of the community at every stage of the program. The activities began with problem identification and local potential mapping through Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), followed by the participatory development of a roadmap and action plan, as well as technical training and institutional strengthening for the community-based water management organization. The action phase was reinforced with collective reflection and participatory evaluation, resulting in enhanced managerial capacity, the establishment of a participatory institutional structure, and the creation of a local drinking water brand, “Enbia.” The outcomes demonstrated significant improvements in knowledge, hygiene and sanitation practices, and community-based institutional management of clean water. Despite challenges such as limited funding and infrastructure, the PAR model proved effective in fostering multi-stakeholder collaboration, enhancing community self-reliance, and ensuring the sustainability of clean water management. This model holds potential for replication in other villages facing similar challenges.ABSTRAKKegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan akses air bersih berkelanjutan dan memperkuat kemandirian masyarakat melalui Program Air Minum Muhammadiyah (PAMMU) di Desa Kadipiro, Kecamatan Sambirejo, Kabupaten Sragen. Metode yang digunakan adalah Participatory Action Research (PAR), yang menekankan keterlibatan aktif masyarakat dalam setiap tahapan. Program dimulai dengan identifikasi masalah dan potensi lokal melalui Focus Group Discussion (FGD), dilanjutkan dengan penyusunan roadmap dan action plan secara partisipatif, serta pelatihan teknis dan pendampingan kelembagaan pengelola air bersih. Proses aksi ini diperkuat dengan refleksi dan evaluasi bersama, yang menghasilkan peningkatan kapasitas pengelola, terbentuknya kelembagaan partisipatif, serta lahirnya merek air minum lokal “Enbia”. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan adanya perubahan signifikan pada aspek pengetahuan, perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat, serta pengelolaan kelembagaan air berbasis masyarakat. Meskipun masih terdapat tantangan pendanaan dan keterbatasan infrastruktur, model PAR ini terbukti mampu memperkuat kolaborasi multipihak, meningkatkan kemandirian warga, serta mendukung keberlanjutan pengelolaan air bersih. Temuan ini dapat direplikasi di desa lain yang menghadapi permasalahan serupa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan dan menguji aplikasi LITERA berbasis Kodular sebagai media pembelajaran sastra di SMA dengan pendekatan literasi kritis Paul & Elder. Perkembangan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi (TIK) mendorong inovasi dalam pembelajaran, khususnya dalam pengembangan media pembelajaran sastra yang berorientasi literasi kritis. Metode penelitian menggunakan model ADDIE dengan subjek guru dan siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 2 Kintap. Validasi ahli menunjukkan kelayakan aplikasi dari aspek media (skor 4,78) dan materi (skor 4,85). Uji coba melibatkan 32 siswa menunjukkan tingkat penerimaan tinggi (respon positif >88%) dan peningkatan signifikan keterampilan literasi kritis, dengan rata-rata kenaikan skor 16,2 poin (p = 0,000). Temuan ini memperkuat relevansi integrasi literasi kritis dalam media pembelajaran digital berbasis platform no-code dan mendukung strategi pembelajaran berdiferensiasi sesuai Kurikulum Merdeka. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi praktis dan teoretis dalam pengembangan media pembelajaran inovatif yang kontekstual dan mudah diakses, sekaligus membuka ruang untuk penelitian lebih lanjut dalam skala yang lebih luas.

Abstract

Siswa sekolah swasta mendapatkan kekerasan simbolik karena adanya dominasi sekolah negeri terhadap sekolah swasta. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis menemukan adanya dominasi sekolah negeri terhadap sekolah swasta yang selevel dan selabel. Penelitian ini dilakukan menggunakan metode mixed method concurrent embedded di 10 sekolah swasta dan 6 sekolah negeri. Informan penelitian kualitatif sebanyak 43 orang ditentukan menggunakan purposive sampling sedangkan responden penelitian kuantitatif sebanyak 301 orang ditentukan menggunakan random sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan lembar angket skala likert dan Gutman, lembar observasi secara langsung, lembar wawancara terstruktur dan dokumen. Data kualitatif yang telah dikumpulkan dianalisis melalui tahapan reduksi data, display data kemudian melakukan penarikan kesimpulan, sedangkan data kuantitatif dianalisis melalui tahapan verifikasi, tabulasi dan persentase data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan dominasi sekolah negeri menjadi salah satu faktor penyebab kekerasan simbolik terhadap siswa sekolah swasta. Dominasi sekolah negeri terhadap sekolah swasta terbagi menjadi beberapa varian yaitu (a) Dominasi kelas dominan terhadap kelas popular dan kelas borjuasi yang selevel, (b) Dominasi kelas dominan terhadap kelas popular dan kelas borjuasi yang tidak selevel, (c) Dominasi kelas dominan terhadap kelas populer dan kelas borjuasi yang selabel dan (c) Dominasi kelas dominan terhadap kelas populer dan kelas borjuasi yang tidak selabel. Kata kunci: Dominasi, Kekerasan Simbolik, Kelas Dominan, Kelas Borjuasi, Kelas Populer, Sekolah Swasta dan Negeri. Abstract Private school students experience symbolic violence because of the dominance of public schools over private schools. The purpose of this study was to analyze the dominance of public schools over private schools at the same level and level. This research was conducted using a mixed method concurrent embedded in 10 private schools and 6 public schools. As many as 43 qualitative research informants were determined using purposive sampling, while the quantitative research respondents were 301 people who were determined using random sampling. The data was collected using a Likert and Gutman scale questionnaire sheet, direct observation sheets, structured interview sheets and documents. The qualitative data that has been collected is analyzed through the data reduction stage, the data display then draws conclusions, while the quantitative data is analyzed through the verification, tabulation and percentage data stages. The results showed that the dominance of public schools was one of the factors causing symbolic violence against private school students.
