Abstract

This study aims to examine women's participation in election administration in Indonesia from the perspective of Islamic law, using a descriptive qualitative method that includes literature review. The results show that women's participation in election administration remains very limited, with the percentage of women in Bawaslu and KPU far below 30%. The main obstacles include patriarchal culture, restrictive interpretations of religious doctrines, and bureaucratic hurdles. Although Islamic law does not explicitly prohibit women's participation, conservative interpretations often limit their roles. This study contributes to the understanding of the dynamics of women's participation in election administration in Indonesia and provides insights for policymakers to design more effective affirmative strategies, highlighting the importance of a gender perspective in equitable election administration.

Abstract

Background: Older people are a high-risk population with decreased health status and quality of life (QoL). There are various conditions that can affect the QoL in older people. QoL in older people requires cooperation from various parties including family members, health workers, and local government to improve it. Understanding factors contributing to QoL among older people is significantly important. Aims: The research objective was to analyze the relationship between age, gender, education, and occupation status with QoL in older people. Methods: A cross-sectional design was used to identify related factors contributing to QoL among older people. QoL was assessed by using SF-36. This instrument contains eight subgroups namely role-physical, physical function, mental health, bodily pain, social functioning, role-emotional, general health, and vitality. Descriptive statistics and correlation coefficients were used in reporting and analyzing the data. The research was conducted from December 2019 to June 2020 in Pleret, Yogyakarta. The sample was collected by simple random sampling resulting in a total of 102 older people. Results: Factors significantly related to the QoL subgroup in this study were as follows. Age (p<0.001) and occupational status (p<0.001) related to physical function, gender (p<0.05) related to mental health, age (p<0.05) and educational level (p<0.05) related to roleemotional and gender (p<0.05) related to general health. Conclusion: This study identified factors that contributed to the QoL in older people including age, gender, educational level, and occupational status. A more in-depth investigation is recommended to determine the other QoL contributing factors among older people.

Abstract

The problem of incomplete or non-existent land ownership proof among the community has arisen in one of the villages in Sidoarjo Regency. This is rooted in the registration of land through the Comprehensive Systematic Land Registration (PTSL) program by one of the heirs named "A". After the issuance of the certificate, other heirs raised objections regarding land ownership, leading to an unresolved dispute until now. This situation is not in line with the intended purpose of land registration, given that Indonesia has comprehensive regulations governing land matters, including dispute resolution. The persistent delay in resolving the dispute raises questions about whether there is a regulatory mismatch or implementation issues within the PTSL program. This research adopts a socio-legal research method with a socio-legal sociology approach and legal data collection techniques such as interviews, observations, and document analysis conducted at the Sidoarjo Regency ATR/BPN Office. The population includes employees of the ATR/BPN Office in Sidoarjo Regency, with samples selected purposively from the General and Personnel Substantive Group Coordinator or the PTSL Program committee or appointed officials. The research findings will be analyzed using descriptive legal data analysis. The results indicate that the implementation of the PTSL program aligns with existing regulations, despite encountering some obstacles. The identified challenges include disputes related to data forgery, conflicts among heirs, discrepancies in land measurement processes, and land occupation by individuals other than the direct owners. The ATR/BPN Office in Sidoarjo addresses these challenges by mediating disputes before PTSL registration to reach agreements. In cases where no consensus is reached, the registration process is postponed until a resolution is achieved between the parties. Additionally, in post-PTSL certificate issuance disputes, mediation is employed, and if no agreement is reached, the category may be downgraded from K2 to K1, or legal proceedings may be pursued to determine rightful ownership of the land parcel.

Abstract

Abstract

The Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm, though simple and effective, faces challenges like premature convergence and local optima entrapment. Modifications in the PSO structure, particularly in acceleration coefficients (  and ), are proposed to address these issues. Techniques like Time Varying Acceleration Coefficients (TVAC), Sine Cosine Acceleration Coefficients (SCAC), and Nonlinear Dynamics Acceleration Coefficients (NDAC) have been implemented to enhance convergence speed and solution quality. This research evaluates various PSO modifications for improving convergence and robustness in rainfall potential prediction using Support Vector Machine (SVM) classification. The UAPSO-SVM algorithm C=0.82568 and γ=0.01960 excels in initial exploration, discovering more optimal global solutions with smaller variability. In contrast, TVACPSO-SVM shows gradual improvement but requires more iterations for stability, while SBPSO-SVM achieves the fastest convergence at iteration 14 but risks overfitting. Robustness analysis reveals all PSO-SVM variants maintain stable performance despite variations in dataset subset sizes, with accuracy stabilizing after a spike at 20%.. Therefore, PSO modifications enhance convergence speed and resilience to data fluctuations, improving their effectiveness for rainfall prediction.

Abstract

Background: Hypertension is a disease that causes morbidity and mortality in Indonesia. According to Riskesdas in 2018 the incidence of hypertension in East Java was 36.6%, this figure increased compared to 2013 (26.4%). The aim of this research is to analyze the relationship between nutritional status, temporary blood sugar and blood pressure.Method: This type of research is analytic observational with a cross sectional approach. The object of this study was the community of RW 12 Oro Ombo Village who took part in a health examination and were willing to be examined. The technique of taking research subjects with total sampling, with a total of 54 people. This research was carried out at RW 12 Oro Oro Ombo Village, Batu City in January 2022. Data in the study were obtained through measurements of research subjects by measuring body weight and height, as well as blood sugar when carried out using POCT (Point Of Care Testing) while measuring blood pressure by measuring systolic blood pressure using a digital sphygmomanometer.Result: The results obtained from this study were that there was no relationship between nutritional status and blood sugar when the p value = 0.156 (> 0.05) and there was a relationship between blood sugar levels when and systolic blood pressure of the people of RW 12 Oro Oro Ombo Village, Batu City, p value = 0.024 ( <0.05). For health workers, the hope is to encourage the public to routinely check their health at health service facilities to detect their health status early. Conclusion: The reseach showed that there was no relationship between nutritional status and temporary blood sugar, but there was a significant relationship between temporary blood sugar levels and systolic blood pressure in the community of RW 12 Oro Oro Ombo Village, Batu City.
