Abstract

The beach reclamation project undertaken by the Bajo tribe community on Bungin Island, Sumbawa, was carried out voluntarily due to land scarcity caused by high population density. Without a sufficient legal basis and environmental assessment, this activity damages marine ecosystems such as seagrass beds and coral reefs. This research examines the form of legal protection for the environment in reclamation based on the principle of sustainable development, the impact of reclamation, and efforts to enforce environmental law in this case. The method used is empirical legal with a sociological approach thru observation and interviews. The results show that legal protection is not yet effective due to weak supervision, low public legal awareness, and the lack of integration of reclamation with environmental regulations. Although national laws are already in place, local implementation is still weak. This research recommends synergy between the government and the community, increased environmental law literacy, and the development of local regulations based on sustainable development.

Abstract

As a State Party to the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW), Indonesia is legally obliged to adopt effective legislative measures to eliminate discrimination against women, including sexual violence. Despite this commitment, sexual violence remains prevalent, raising concerns regarding the adequacy of the existing legal framework. This study aims to re-examine Indonesia’s sexual violence regulations in light of CEDAW obligations and Feminist Legal Theory (FLT), particularly regarding their capacity to recognize and protect women’s lived experiences. The research employs normative legal research, analyzing secondary legal materials through conceptual and comparative approaches to legislation. The findings demonstrate that Indonesia’s regulatory framework on sexual violence remains fragmented and uneven. While the Criminal Code narrowly constrains the definition of sexual violence, the Criminal Procedure Code fails to adequately address women’s rights and gender-sensitive victim protection. Revisions to the Child Protection Law have strengthened prohibitions against sexual violence but remain limited in scope and apply exclusively to child victims. The Domestic Violence Law criminalizes sexual violence within the household context, yet its protection is confined to forced sexual intercourse and does not fully capture broader forms of sexual abuse. Conversely, the Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection Law represents a significant normative advancement, providing a more comprehensive prohibition of sexual violence and stronger guarantees for women’s rights. This study contributes to feminist legal scholarship by highlighting the persistence of gender-biased legal constructions and underscores the need for a coherent, victim-centered, and CEDAW-compliant legal framework to effectively address sexual violence in Indonesia

Abstract

This study analyzes the influence of supervision and law enforcement on improving taxpayer compliance at the Pondok Aren Tax Office (KPP Pratama), focusing on post-audit Taxable Entrepreneurs (PKP). The approach used was qualitative with descriptive-analytical methods, through data collection from interviews (tax officers and taxpayers) and surveys to identify factors influencing post-audit compliance. The study results indicate that stricter supervision and effective law enforcement have the potential to improve compliance, but their implementation still faces significant obstacles such as limited resources, weak taxpayer understanding of tax obligations, and the effectiveness of sanctions that have not yet provided an adequate deterrent effect. The findings also emphasize the importance of more intensive education and outreach for new PKPs and the need to improve internal coordination (for example, between the supervisory and audit functions) to ensure more targeted post-audit follow-up. Key recommendations include strengthening technology-based supervision systems, improving tax counseling, and stricter law enforcement, including the option of freezing electronic certificates to suppress repeated violations and encourage ongoing compliance.

Abstract

Compliance with Annual Tax Return (SPT) reporting remains a challenge in Indonesia's self-assessment system, primarily due to limited taxpayer understanding and adaptation to updates to the tax administration system, including the implementation of Coretax. The Community Service Program through the 2025 Tax Volunteer Program at the Pondok Aren Tax Office (KPP Pratama) is designed to improve compliance with Annual Income Tax Return (SPT) reporting for the 2024 Tax Year while providing education on the use of the Coretax application for government agency taxpayers. The program is implemented through stages of volunteer recruitment, capability mapping and training, assistance in filling out and reporting SPTs via e-Filing, assistance for taxpayers on the DSPT list, Coretax education for treasurers/agencies, and publication of tax education through social media. The implementation results show the collection of 99 student volunteers and 59 lecturer volunteers divided into 20 teams, with SPT assistance carried out offline in the period from the end of February to March 2025. Coretax education for government agencies also helps overcome feature constraints and understanding the reporting process in the new system. Overall, this program contributes to improving tax return reporting assistance services and strengthening tax literacy, and is worthy of continuation as ongoing support for Coretax adaptation.

Abstract

Abstract

The degradation of academic integrity in elementary schools demands a character education approach that touches students' consciousness rather than merely memorizing rules. This study aims to describe the trans-internalization process of honesty values through storytelling within Indonesian language learning. Adopting a qualitative approach with a case study design, this research involved the third-grade homeroom teacher at SDN Waung as the primary subject. Data were collected through participant observation, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis, then validated using source and technique triangulation. Data analysis was conducted referring to the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña interactive model which includes data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that storytelling successfully integrates three character dimensions simultaneously: cognitive transformation (moral knowing), which concretizes abstract honesty concepts; affective transaction (moral feeling), which fosters empathy and a sense of shame regarding cheating; and behavioral trans-internalization (moral acting), evidenced by a drastic decrease in cheating and increased courage to admit mistakes, replacing fear-based compliance with internal awareness. It is concluded that narrative stories effectively transform cognitive understanding into tangible moral actions by lowering student resistance to moral messages. Theoretically, this study confirms the role of storytelling in reconstructing moral behavior through vicarious learning and narrative transportation mechanisms. Practically, it offers a pedagogical model for teachers to instill character traits enjoyably without rigid indoctrination, whilst simultaneously positioning language learning as a dual strategic vehicle for developing both literacy and student moral integrity.

Abstract

The stagnation of critical thinking skills in elementary school students is often rooted in the gap between abstract mathematics curricula and the cognitive characteristics of students who are still in the concrete operational stage. Conventional teacher-centered methods exacerbate this condition, rendering students passive. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model using contextual problems to strengthen students' mathematical critical thinking skills. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, the research was conducted at SDN Cemengkalang with Grade III students as subjects. Data were collected through participant observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using triangulation techniques. The results demonstrate that integrating real objects (such as wall clocks and floor tiles) within PBL stages effectively bridges students' thinking from concrete to abstract phases. Specifically, the focus indicator improved sharply as students became capable of filtering essential data from complex narrative problems. In the reasoning aspect, group discussion interactions encouraged students to shift from merely providing short answers to constructing evidence-based causal explanations regarding geometric properties. Meanwhile, inference skills were formed through independent conclusion-drawing, which was refined through iterative reflection processes. It is concluded that PBL successfully transforms students' roles from passive receivers into active knowledge constructors. Theoretically, these findings reinforce social constructivism theory, while practically recommending visual contextual problems as the primary scaffolding in lower-grade classes.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate teachers’ readiness to formulate differentiated learning and social-emotional learning (SEL) at SMKN 1 West Kotaagung in 2024. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through structured interviews with 20 teachers selected using purposive sampling based on teaching experience, educational background, and involvement in professional development activities. The findings indicate that teachers’ readiness remains limited across several critical dimensions. Teachers continue to face difficulties in systematically identifying student differences, developing adaptive learning models and instructional media, and enhancing student learning motivation. In addition, the implementation of social-emotional learning has not been consistently integrated into classroom practices. Teachers encounter challenges in fostering positive student interactions, supporting emotional regulation, and strengthening students’ awareness of the importance of social-emotional competencies. From an interdisciplinary perspective, these findings suggest that teachers’ readiness is influenced by the interaction of pedagogical competence, psychological understanding, and instructional management capacity. The study highlights the need for systematic professional development that integrates differentiated instructional design with social-emotional pedagogy, supported by institutional policies and adequate learning resources. In the context of vocational education, strengthening teachers’ readiness is essential to ensure that learning processes not only address academic diversity but also equip students with social-emotional competencies required for successful participation in the workplace and society.
