Abstract

This study analyzes multi-level law enforcement strategies against Sharia principle violations in Indonesian Islamic banking and finance, examining regulatory frameworks from national legislation (UU No. 21/2008) to institutional oversight by OJK, DSN-MUI, and Sharia Supervisory Boards. The research focuses on three primary violation categories: riba (interest-based transactions), gharar (excessive uncertainty), and maysir (speculative transactions), evaluating enforcement mechanisms across four levels: national regulatory framework, Sharia court adjudication (BASYARNAS and Religious Courts), institutional supervision (OJK and Bank Indonesia), and internal compliance systems. Using triangulation methods combining qualitative descriptive approaches with quantitative secondary data and legal document analysis (POJK regulations, DSN-MUI fatwas, court decisions), data was collected from academic sources, indexed journals, official legal documents, and international case studies. Key findings reveal enforcement fragmentation across regulatory levels, with gaps between UU 21/2008 provisions, POJK implementation, and DSN-MUI fatwa compliance. Religious Court decisions show inconsistent Sharia principle application, while OJK supervision data indicates varying compliance rates across violation categories. Current mechanisms suffer from regulatory fragmentation and lack of standardized protocols. The study develops an integrated multi-level Sharia law enforcement framework, comparing best practices from Malaysia, UAE, and other countries, recommending: (1) harmonizing multi-level regulatory frameworks; (2) strengthening OJK-DSN-MUI-Sharia court coordination; (3) standardizing violation categorization and sanctions; and (4) leveraging technology for compliance monitoring to create a more effective Sharia legal system

Abstract

This study aims to map and analyze the suitability of sustainable rice paddy land in Bekasi Regency, West Java, an area experiencing rapid urbanization. The research employed a quantitative spatial approach using multi-temporal satellite imagery from the last five years processed through Google Earth Engine (GEE) and ArcGIS 10.3. Land suitability evaluation was conducted by integrating the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and the Matching Evaluation Approach (MEA) to determine parameter weights and classify land suitability levels. The parameters analyzed included rainfall, temperature, slope, soil type, soil pH, erosion, groundwater recharge, and land use. Land suitability was classified into four categories: very suitable (S1), moderately suitable (S2), marginally suitable (S3), and not suitable (N). The results indicate that marginally suitable land (S3) dominates the study area, accounting for 42.21%, followed by moderately suitable land (S2) at 30.44%. Very suitable land (S1) covers only 1.80% of the area, while more than 23% falls into unsuitable categories (N1–N2), mainly in northern coastal areas affected by salinity and drainage constraints. These findings highlight the importance of water availability and soil conditions as dominant factors in rice land suitability. The study provides essential spatial information to support sustainable agricultural planning and land conservation strategies in Bekasi Regency

Abstract

This study aims to describe the design, use, and evaluate the use of the Wordwall application in assessing poetry text learning among 11th grade students at Madrasah Aliyah Sabrun Jamil Botupingge in the 2024/2025 academic year. This research was conducted at Madrasah Aliyah Sabrun Jamil Botupingge in 2025. The number of informants in this study involved 10 students. This study used a qualitative descriptive method and qualitative research type to provide an in-depth description of the phenomenon being studied. Data sources were obtained from teaching modules or the Wordwall digital application design, the learning process, and students. Data collection techniques were carried out through documentation, observation, and Wordwall application tests. Data analysis techniques were carried out through four main stages, namely data reduction to focus information, narrative data presentation, in-depth data analysis, and conclusion drawing and verification to produce accurate findings. The results showed that the Wordwall application design was systematically constructed through the integration of pedagogical, technical, and visual aspects in line with the curriculum and poetry-building indicators. Implementation in the field through the Wooden Desk-themed digital quiz feature proved to be interactive and adaptive, capable of transforming conventional assessments into a dynamic digital experience. The use of gamification features such as leaderboards and timers significantly increased students' motivation, confidence, and active participation during the assessment process. The evaluation results confirm that Wordwall is a practical and accurate assessment tool for measuring literary competence. Overall, this application is effective as a continuous assessment model that is responsive to the technological needs and characteristics of students in the digital age.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the form of polysemy (nouns, verbs, adjectives) in political news of LKBN Antara Gorontalo Bureau, describe its function in journalistic discourse, and reveal the nature of polysemy meaning as a relationship between lexical and contextual meaning in the Gorontalo election discourse community for the 2024-2025 period. Using a qualitative descriptive analysis approach with semantics, data was taken from 20 political news scripts on antaranews.com/gorontalo (November 2024-May 2025) covering the issues of the North Gorontalo PSU, election lawsuits, money politics, grant budgets, and election law enforcement. Data analysis follows the Miles & Huberman model with a semantic theory foundation. The results of the study identified 81 polysemy data with an unequal distribution: dominant nouns (68 data) such as “decision”, “stages”, “grant”, “lawsuit”, “rights”; verbs (11 data) such as “title”, “release”, “upload”; and adjectives only 2 data (“conducive”, “heavy”). These words undergo expansion, specialization, and transference of meanings typical of institutional election discourse. The function of polysemy encompasses three layers: linguistic economy and referential precision, subtle expressive-persuasiveness without violating neutrality, and educational-contextuality that activates readers’ knowledge of election regulations. The essence of its meaning consists of general lexical meaning and specific contextual meaning active in the election community. Polysemy is not ambiguity, but rather a systematic and efficient linguistic strategy for conveying complex information while maintaining journalistic objectivity. These findings confirm polysemy as a characteristic of regional election discourse and a potential teaching material for semantic learning, media literacy, and civic education.

Abstract

The beach reclamation project undertaken by the Bajo tribe community on Bungin Island, Sumbawa, was carried out voluntarily due to land scarcity caused by high population density. Without a sufficient legal basis and environmental assessment, this activity damages marine ecosystems such as seagrass beds and coral reefs. This research examines the form of legal protection for the environment in reclamation based on the principle of sustainable development, the impact of reclamation, and efforts to enforce environmental law in this case. The method used is empirical legal with a sociological approach thru observation and interviews. The results show that legal protection is not yet effective due to weak supervision, low public legal awareness, and the lack of integration of reclamation with environmental regulations. Although national laws are already in place, local implementation is still weak. This research recommends synergy between the government and the community, increased environmental law literacy, and the development of local regulations based on sustainable development.

Abstract

Amid persistent challenges in improving voluntary tax compliance in Indonesia, particularly among non-employee individual taxpayers whose income is harder to monitor, this study investigates how social norms influence voluntary tax compliance among non-employee individual taxpayers, focusing on the mediating role of personal norms and the moderating role of tax morale. The research aims to explain behavioral mechanisms that drive voluntary compliance by integrating social, psychological, and moral dimensions into the tax compliance framework. Using a quantitative method with 211 respondents, the study employs PLS-SEM to analyze relationships among variables, supported by secondary data from literature using Harzing’s Publish or Perish and VOSviewer. The article discusses the interconnection between social norms and internalized personal values that shape taxpayers’ ethical decision-making in fulfilling tax obligations. Findings reveal that social norms significantly affect personal norms, which positively influence voluntary tax compliance. Social norms also have a direct impact on compliance behavior, while tax morale strengthens the overall relationship, emphasizing the role of moral and social reinforcement in building a culture of voluntary tax compliance in Indonesia. This study contributes by providing empirical evidence on the role of social and moral factors in enhancing voluntary tax compliance.

Abstract

As a State Party to the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW), Indonesia is legally obliged to adopt effective legislative measures to eliminate discrimination against women, including sexual violence. Despite this commitment, sexual violence remains prevalent, raising concerns regarding the adequacy of the existing legal framework. This study aims to re-examine Indonesia’s sexual violence regulations in light of CEDAW obligations and Feminist Legal Theory (FLT), particularly regarding their capacity to recognize and protect women’s lived experiences. The research employs normative legal research, analyzing secondary legal materials through conceptual and comparative approaches to legislation. The findings demonstrate that Indonesia’s regulatory framework on sexual violence remains fragmented and uneven. While the Criminal Code narrowly constrains the definition of sexual violence, the Criminal Procedure Code fails to adequately address women’s rights and gender-sensitive victim protection. Revisions to the Child Protection Law have strengthened prohibitions against sexual violence but remain limited in scope and apply exclusively to child victims. The Domestic Violence Law criminalizes sexual violence within the household context, yet its protection is confined to forced sexual intercourse and does not fully capture broader forms of sexual abuse. Conversely, the Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection Law represents a significant normative advancement, providing a more comprehensive prohibition of sexual violence and stronger guarantees for women’s rights. This study contributes to feminist legal scholarship by highlighting the persistence of gender-biased legal constructions and underscores the need for a coherent, victim-centered, and CEDAW-compliant legal framework to effectively address sexual violence in Indonesia
