Abstract

Taking into account auditory, visual, and kinesthetic learning modalities, this research animed to evaluate students mathematical communication abilities on the subject of Two Variable Linear Equation Systems. This qualitative study surveyed six junior high school students from the city of Sukabumi. The tools used for this study were a written exam to evaluate mathematical communication abilities and a learning style questionnaire. Mathematical communication skills are the basis of the learning style questionnaire. These skills include the ability to draw connections between mathematical ideas and real word objects, images, and diagrams to explain mathematical concepts, situations, and relationships in writing and to express events or ideas using mathematical symbols or language. Communication abilities are excellent among students with low visual learning styles, as are those with high visual learning styles, according to the study’s findings. The communication abilities of pupils whose learning style is mostly auditory are good, while those whose learning style is predominantly visual are poor. The same holds true for students communication abilities, those who learn best via movement tend to have excellent ones, while those who learn best by sitting still tend to struggle. Knowing one’s own learning style is crucial for pupils to enhance their mathematics communication abilities

Abstract

Menteri Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan, Nadiem Anwar Makarim, telah merespons keluhan masyarakat terhadap sistem pendidikan nasional dengan menerbitkan kebijakan Pendidikan Merdeka Belajar. Kebijakan ini mencakup penghapusan USBN, penggantian UN dengan AKM dan survei karakter, pengurangan komponen dalam RPP, dan orientasi proporsional pada PPDB. AKM digunakan sebagai pedoman kualitas pendidikan Indonesia dan diharapkan dapat membantu peserta didik mengembangkan kemampuan dasar mereka. Salah satu aspek penting yang diukur dalam AKM adalah literasi numerasi matematis, di mana kesalahan siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah matematika perlu diteliti lebih lanjut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kesulitan siswa SMA dalam menyelesaikan soal AKM materi barisan aritmatika. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode eksplorasi pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa tes tulis dan wawancara dengan instrumen tes sebanyak dua soal. Subjek dari penelitian ini dari kelas X di salah satu SMA Kota Bandung sebanyak tiga orang diambil secara purposive sampling. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan cara dengan memberikan soal tes, kemudian subjek yang telah terpilih diwawancara untuk mengetahui deskripsi dari hasil jawaban yang telah mereka lakukan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan literasi matematis siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal model AKM pada materi barisan aritmatika masih rendah, dengan siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam merumuskan, menerapkan, dan menafsirkan soal matematika. Diperlukan bimbingan dan arahan dari pendidik serta kesadaran dari peserta didik untuk meningkatkan kemampuan literasi numerasi. Kata kunci: Asesmen kompetensi minimum, Literasi numerasi

Abstract

Pentingnya kepekaan bilangan dalam pembelajaran matematika tidak dapat diabaikan. kepekaan bilangan merujuk pada pemahaman mendalam dan fleksibel tentang bilangan, hubungan antar bilangan, serta operasi matematika. Siswa dengan kepekaan bilangan yang baik cenderung lebih fleksibel dalam menyelesaikan masalah matematika tanpa harus terpaku pada suatu metode tertentu. Namun, saat ini kemampuan kepekaan bilangan siswa cenderung masih rendah. Untuk mengatasinya diperlukan kegiatan analisis pemilihan model pembelajaran yang tepat guna mengembangkan kepekaan bilangan. Dengan demikian artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan model pembelajaran kooperatif guna meningkatkan kemampuan kepekaan bilangan siswa. Artikel ini merupakan rangkuman dari temuan hasil analisis sebanyak dua belas jurnal. Berdasarkan kajian dari penelitian-penelitian sebelumnya, didapat bahwa hasil belajar siswa dalam materi-materi yang berhubungan dengan bilangan dapat dikembangkan dengan pembelajaran kooperatif. Ini berarti, pembelajaran kooperatif efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan kepekaan bilangan siswa.

Abstract

Difficulties in mathematical language and representation were the dominant difficulties in solving word problems for students in elementary school. The research aims to analyze students' mathematical language and representation difficulties when solving word problems. The research subjects were 114 fifth-grade elementary school students selected using a purposive sampling technique with different mathematical abilities. The research was conducted at an elementary school in Sumbawa District, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. Data collection techniques included tests, questionnaires, and interviews. The research results show that students' difficulties in mathematical language were dominant indicators of sentences. Students had difficulties in mathematical representation indicators, which were dominant in symbols. The factors that cause difficulty for high, middle, and lower ability students are unaccustomed to solving word problems and using problem-solving procedures, difficulty with concepts, difficulty with reasoning, difficulty understanding what is known and what is being asked, not being careful in reading the problem, and difficulty with long sentences. Student word problem-solving is in the low category.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkapkan indikator apa saja yang menjadi dampak dari learning loss pada kemampuan pemahaman konsep dan representasi matematis peserta didik kelas V khususnya di era post pandemic COVID 19. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kajian literatur. Hasil dari kajian literatur yang ditemukan adalah indikator yang menjadi dampak dari learning loss pada kemampuan pemahaman konsep adalah menggunakan model, diagram dan simbol-simbol untuk merepresentasikan suatu konsep, serta mengubah suatu bentuk represenasi ke bentuk representasi lainnya. Sedangkan indikator yang menjadi dampak dari learning loss pada kemampuan representasi matematis peserta didik addalah menggambar untuk memperjelas suatu masalah dan memfasilitasi cara menyelesaikan masalah tersebut, membuat model atau persamaan matematika dari representasi lain yang disajikan, serta menyusun sebuah alur cerita yang sesuai dengan representasi yang telah diberikan. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa learning loss merupakan dampak dari pandemic covid 19 dikarenakan pembelajaran jarak jauh atau daring yang memiliki banyak kendala terutama oleh guru, peserta didik, dan orang tua. Sehingga pembelajaran berlangsung kurang efektif.

Abstract

Audiobooks are a form of technological development that allows students and teachers to access information more easily and flexibly. This study uses the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method by analyzing relevant previous studies and providing a clear and comprehensive description of the use of audiobooks in the context of learning in schools. This research can provide practical recommendations for teachers and schools in implementing audiobooks as part of their learning strategies, as well as other researchers who are interested in researching audiobooks in learning. The results of this study indicate that the use of audiobooks in school learning has been extensively researched and implemented in various contexts and subjects in various countries. Of the 100 articles identified, 72% were written in English, and this research shows that the use of audiobooks in learning is mostly implemented in language subjects. In addition, the type of research that is most often used is qualitative, while the subjects that are most often the focus of research are students, especially to develop listening and reading competencies. Indonesia was also identified as the country that most often conducts research on the implementation of audiobooks in classroom learning.

Abstract

It is still uncertain whether teacher professional development is still in great demand, especially in the field of educational research. This research is aimed as preliminary research to determine the research gaps to be taken, especially those related to teacher professional development programs (PDPs) at the elementary level during last decade. The research method used was a computational mechanism using several applications such as Publish or Perish, Microsoft Excel, and VOS viewer. The number of PDP studies in mathematics learning at the elementary level during this period was 1038 but due to the limited results of the Publish and Perish software, sampling was carried out and 999 data were filtered. The results show that the trend has experienced a downgrade in the last five years, the most research in this focus was conducted in 2015 with 173 works, followed by 2013 with 170. The data showed a fluctuating trend from 2013 to 2017 before declined drastically with only 5 publications in each of the last two years. VOSviewer was used for computational mapping and showed that research opportunities for PDPs should be increased, especially at the elementary level. Based on network visualization, PDP is closely to several other keywords.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the implementation of statistical literacy at the elementary schools level within the mathematics curriculum. Statistical literacy is a essential skill that enables students to understand, analyze, and interpret data and information critically. In an era where information and data are abundant, having statistical literacy skills has become increasingly relevant and crucial for developing students' understanding of the world, which involves various data-based information. This study uses a qualitative approach by analyzing government regulation documents concerning the mathematics curriculum used at the elementary school level. The results of the research indicate that statistical literacy has not been fully integrated effectively into the elementary school mathematics curriculum. While there have been some efforts to incorporate statistical concepts into mathematics learning, there are still challenges in teaching data analysis skills and interpreting statistical information more deeply.

Abstract

The teacher's job is to prepare learning plans, create modules, implement, assess, and evaluate. The fact that teachers don't have modules yet. As a result, the mean logarithmic learning outcome of 74.80 is below the standard of 75. It is urgent to research because there is a gap between theory, expectations, and reality. The aim is to produce a logarithmic module equipped with an effective jigsaw cooperative model. The method is the research and development (RD), analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation (ADDIE) model. There were 32 high school subjects. Data collection techniques using needs analysis instruments, and assessment instruments for material experts, teachers, and students. Collect student pre-test and post-test data. Analysis technique by calculating the mean of all module components, the mean of pre-test and post-test, and interpretation of each module component. As a result, the mean scores of material experts, teachers, and students were obtained at 92.35%, 91.45%, and 95.81% in the very good category. It was found that the mean learning outcomes of students who used the module were 90.28 and the mean of students who did not use the module was 68.40, with a difference of 25.48. In conclusion, the logarithm module is practical, and effective, and can improve student learning outcomes significantly.

Abstract

This scoping review aims to consolidate the research that has been conducted on fractional learning challenges, with a particular emphasis on the various student groups, intervention strategies, outcomes, and specific learning problems. The research finds essential research topics and relevant papers and extracts data in order to gain an understanding of the intricate nature of fraction learning. The technique utilized in this study is a five-stage process. The preliminary literature searches produced a total of twenty-three articles, seven of which were chosen for a more in-depth examination. These publications covered a variety of themes, including the effectiveness of manipulatives, strategies for accommodating students who struggle with mathematics, focused training interventions, and instructor guidance. The findings of this research shed light on the myriad of difficulties associated with learning fractions. These difficulties range from basic conceptual and procedural comprehension to unique educational obstacles for a wide variety of student populations, including those with learning disabilities. The study focuses on a variety of intervention tactics, such as accommodations, strategic training, and the utilization of manipulatives, with the objective of enhancing problem-solving abilities, conceptual comprehension, and procedural proficiency in fractions. This all-encompassing examination highlights the ubiquity of misconceptions and the necessity of explicit training. It also highlights the usefulness of direct instruction, strategic education, and problem-solving exercises in improving students' comprehension of fractions. In order to overcome problems in learning fractions and to improve mathematical education, the findings advocate for the continuation of research and the incorporation of effective pedagogical approaches.
