Abstract

This study aims to reveal the ideal characteristics of Islamic educators based on the perspective of the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad SAW. Using a qualitative method based on literature studies, this study examines various hadiths related to the characteristics of educators, such as sincerity, patience, compassion, wisdom, and exemplary behavior. The results of the study indicate that an Islamic educator must have high moral integrity, be able to build good relationships with students, and teach knowledge with wisdom and gentleness. Abstract

The IFRS can be applied in the multi national company (MNC) and listing firms across the countrybut it does not mean it can replace the national accounting standards that have been owned by respectivecountries. The accounting standardization is not an easy job because each country has differentpolitical, social, and economic background. This study is to reveal the reason and who is behindIFRS adoption in Indonesia. This qualitative research is a case study based on cases representinginstitutions in Indonesia: DSAK, DPN IAI, BAPEPAM-LK, the finance ministry and the ministryof state own enterprises (BUMN). Data were collected by interviews and using readily availabledocuments and processed with thematic analysis. The result shows the adoption of IFRS decisions isdriven by international interests. Indonesia's membership in several international organizations, suchas IFAC (International Federation on Accountant), IOSCO, and the G-20, has resulted in the approvalof global accounting standards in Indonesia. Each organization has done a variety ways toensure that its members adopt IFRS. IFRS should be based more on Indonesia accounting needs andshould not be only based on a desire particularly coercion from others. In-depth analysis based onthe reality of each particular business should be conducted before a decision to adopt IFRS is taken.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of debt proxied by Debt-to-Equity Ratio (DER), profitability proxied by Return on Equity (ROE), and market value proxied by Price to Book Value (PBV) on stock returns, either by using control variables with firm size and sales growth or without using control variables. The research sample was taken using a purposive sampling technique, covering 55 companies in the consumer non-cyclicals sector on the IDX for the 2019-2022 period (220 observations). This study uses secondary data from annual reports. The analysis technique used was panel data regression with Fixed Effect Model approach using Eviews 12 software. The results show that DER has a significant negative influence on stock returns, ROE has no effect on stock returns, and PBV has a significant positive influence on stock returns

Abstract

The pursuit of corporate value is crucial in corporate finance discussions, especially for companies listed on stock exchanges like the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). This study investigates the influence of corporate policies and financial performance on firm value in the Property and Real Estate sector from 2017 to 2022, with macroeconomic factors as moderating variables. Using secondary data and panel data regression analysis, the study finds that debt to equity ratio, return on equity, and return on asset positively affect firm value, with interest rates moderating the relationship between debt policy and firm value. However, the study has limitations, including its sectoral and temporal focus and limited variables, suggesting avenues for future research to enhance understanding and applicability.

Abstract

Sinabung Volcano is located in the Karo Highlands, Karo Regency, North Sumatra, Indonesia, with a peak of 2460 meters above sea level. This volcano experienced an increase in volcanic activity in the April-October 2021 period, so it is necessary to analyse volcanic seismicity to determine the hypocenter distribution of the volcano. This study aims to determine the hypocenter distribution and classification of volcanic earthquake types based on seismogram recording data of Sinabung Volcano at four stations, namely LKW, BGR, MDD and SGR stations. The method used in this research is Geiger's method with adaptive damping (GAD) to determine the distribution of hypocenters. The results showed that the hypocenter distribution gathered below the crater centre with depths from 0.172 km to 7.139 km. The determination of the hypocenter distribution of volcanic earthquakes is expected to provide information on the depth of the earthquake to determine the movement of magma and the characteristics of events that occur during the pre-eruption process of Sinabung Volcano so that this data can be used for mitigation decision making when there is an increase in the activity of Sinabung Volcano.

Abstract

This paper explores the stages of speaking skill's online lectures using the Zoom Cloud Meeting media as well as the advantages and disadvantages of the Zoom Cloud Meeting media. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach with three data collection techniques, namely observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that there were several stages used by lecturers in the implementation of speaking skill lectures using Zoom Cloud Meeting media, namely: (1) Pre-Lecture, (2), Lecture Implementation, (3) and Class Evaluation. There are several features of the Zoom Cloud Meeting media used by lecturers in the implementation of speaking skill lectures such as Schedule, mute & unmute, record, chat, and whiteboards. Researchers also found several advantages regarding the implementation of speaking skill lectures using Zoom Cloud Meeting media such as flexibility in the lecture process, increasing discipline for lecturers and students, and several additional features that can support the smooth implementation of lectures. However, the implementation of lectures using this media is also inseparable from shortcomings such as a poor internet network and limited duration of the free Zoom Cloud Meeting media which can only be used for 40 minutes. From the results of this study, it is hoped that it can provide alternative solutions for lecturers in dealing with online lectures in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine students' perceptions of an ideal Arabic lecturer’s personality competence. This study used an exploratory approach with the data collection technique deploying an online questionnaire distributed via a Google Form. After completing the online questionnaire, the researchers also selected three students for individual interviews based on their availability and willingness to participate. This study revealed several important findings: First, Arabic language lecturers must act according to the prevailing norms and feel proud of their profession. Second, an Arabic lecturer must be independent in acting without being influenced by interventions from anyone and have a high work ethic. Third, an Arabic lecturer must be neutral in treating students in the classroom. Fourth, an Arabic lecturer must use polite language when delivering materials and not be arrogant, which could create a tense/scary atmosphere during the learning process. Fifth, an Arabic language lecturer must set an example for students, such as getting used to speaking Arabic in everyday life so that students could imprint the lecturer.
