PurposeThe purpose of this paper was to explore the behavior of hypertension patients who was participated in Jaminan Kesehatan Nasional (JKN) that form a lifestyle in the prevention of complications due to hypertension.MethodA qualitative-case study was conducted involving observations and depth interview to 13 hypertension patients who was participated in Jaminan Kesehatan Nasional (JKN), 2 wives and 1 husband of patients with hypertension, also 3 doctors who were BPJS partners in Batang.ResultsThe study found that first, hypertension patients in Batang knew that they were potentially affected by complications due to hypertension. Second, there was a difference in experience and behavior between hypertension patients of prolanis (program pengelolaan penyakit kronis) members and non-prolanis (program pengelolaan penyakit kronis) members. The behavior of hypertension patients of prolanis members tends to be better than non-prolanis. Third, consumption of antihypertensive drugs was preferred in the prevention of complications due to hypertension rather than improving or modifying the behavior of hypertension patients.ConclusionThe positive experience of hypertension patients during being a JKN participant of prolanis and non-prolanis members formed a different lifestyle, also a different prevention efforts. This is due to information about hypertension that prolanis members got is better than non prolanis. JKN participants are suggested to become members of prolanis so that family doctors partner BPJS as the providers of JKN can be more active in conveying information specifically related to hypertension and its complications. Innovative, adaptive and accessible information delivery needs to be considered in an effort to improve the lifestyle behavior of hypertension patients.

Implementation of the smoke-free neighborhood program in YogyakartaPurposeThis study aimed to identify the successfulness of smoke-free neighborhood and to understand the relationship between the householders' knowledge and household smoking status. MethodsAn observational analytic study was conducted using cross-sectional surveys. Chi-square, Fisher exact and logistic regression tests were used to analyze the correlation between variables. ResultsFrom those numbers, qualified households which fulfill the program criteria were 76.1% and 75.9%, respectively. To be more specific, in smoke-free neighborhood, about 56.8% householders were under smoking status and 43.2% householders were identified as ex- or non-smoker. Bivariable analysis showed that there was a significant correlation between educational background, age, knowledge, and perception of householder with smoking status. The last model of multivariable analysis showed that knowledge, and age of householders was related to household smoking status. ConclusionThis study shows that smoke-free neighborhood program has not yet affected passive smoker protection significantly. A more specific controlling program to improve the knowledge especially for elderly (> 45 years old) has to be increased in smoke-free neighborhood of Yogyakarta.

Psychosocial stress and vulvovaginal Candidiasis among female sex workers in Banyumas PurposeThis study aimed to determine the relationship between psychosocial stress with candidiasis vulvovaginalis (KVV) incidence in female sex workers (FSW).MethodsThe research design was a case control study conducted in health center clinics in the Banyumas District. The sample size was 164 FSW (82 cases & 82 control). The research instrument was structured questionnaires, Social Readjustment Rating Scale (SRRS), laboratory equipment and microscopes for inspection KVV. Data analysis used logistic regression tests to calculate odds ratios (OR), confidence interval (CI), and p value.ResultsThe multivariate analysis showed that stress was not KVV risk factors, and the risk factors that contribute to the occurrence of KVV in FSW were oral sex (OR = 3.31, 95% CI = 1.60 to 6.83, p-value = 0.001) and smoking more than 10 cigarettes/day (OR = 2.33, 95% CI = 1.2 to 4.59, p-value = 0.014).ConclusionsThe risk factors of KVV were oral sex and smoking ≥ ten cigarettes/day. We recommend to avoid oral sex and smoking < ten cigarettes/day to avoid the risk of KVV infection.
