Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tentang interpretasi siswa pada huruf-huruf aljabar dengan diberikannya suatu masalah kontekstual. Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi bahwa adanya peran huruf-huruf aljabar yang berbeda-beda pada pembelajaran aljabar. Penelitian dilakukan dengan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif yang memiliki partisipan penelitian sebanyak 6 siswa dan partisipan tersebut merupakan siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri di daerah Pekanbaru, Riau. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa dokumen hasil tes siswa dan rekaman berupa audio dan video pada saat siswa dilakukan wawancara. Teknik analisis data berupa reduksi data, pemaparan data dan penarikan kesimpulan dari data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa interpretasi siswa cenderung memberikan cara berpikir bahwa peran huruf-huruf aljabar adalah pengganti dari suatu bilangan tertentu sehingga dengan cara berpikir tersebut siswa belum bisa melangkah ke cara berpikir bahwa huruf-huruf aljabar merupakan generalized numbers. Dengan cara berpikir tersebut juga menyebabkan siswa belum mampu membentuk ekspresi aljabar pada permasalahan tersebut. Oleh karena itu, perlu adanya pemberian ragam masalah kepada siswa yang mengarahkan pada peran huruf-huruf aljabar yang beragam.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan penalaran adaptif dan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa, khususnya kesulitan belajar siswa dalam memahami materi bilangan. Subyek penelitian adalah 6 siswa kelas VII. Metode penelitian ini deskriptif kualitatif dengan menganalisis kesulitan siswa dari instrumen yang diberikan. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini berupa tes tertulis kemampuan penalaran adaptif dan pemecahan masalah matematis. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan penalaran adaptif dan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa rendah.

Abstract

Pembelajaran matematika yang tidak baikakanmemberikan dan membentuk concept image yang tidak baikjuga. Hal ini sangat penting diketahui oleh guru untuk proses pembelajaran matematika. Sebaliknya pembelajaran yang baik akan membentuk concept image yang baik pula. Concept image dipresentasikan dengan hal yang sama tetapi konsep berbeda tergantung dari perspektif peserta didik dengan pengalaman sebelumnya. Selain itu, perlu diketahui bahwa peserta didik sekolah menengah pertama memiliki tuntutan untuk memiliki kompetensi pada aljabar. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan concept image yang dimiliki siswa tentang bentuk aljabar khususnya operasi hitung bentuk aljabar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode peneleitian kualitatif dengan fenomenologi hermeneutika. Pesertanya adalah dua puluh lima siswa kelas tujuh di salah satu sekolah menengah pertama di Bandung, Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara dengan peserta didik dan tes berbentuk teks untuk operasi hitung bentuk aljabar pada peserta didik. Berdasarkan hasil analisis datates dan wawancara menunjukkan bahwa concept image yang dimiliki oleh peserta didik masing-masing berbeda dan masih belum cukup baik sampai kepada pemahaman konsep yang benar. Terjadinya hal tersebut dikarenakan adanya hambatan-hambatan dalam proses pembelajaran sehingga perlu adanya perbaikan dan perhatian yang serius dalam proses pembelajaran untuk membentuk concept image yang baik dan benar.

Abstract

This research investigates students' mathematical language difficulties in solving word problems in elementary school. This research method uses a descriptive with a qualitative approach. The research subjects were 52 fifth-grade elementary school students using a purposive sampling technique with students of different abilities, namely upper, middle and lower abilities. Data collection techniques included triangulation data sources through tests, interviews, and questionnaires, as well as data analysis techniques, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Research findings show that students with upper and middle ability problem solving are in the "low" category, and students with lower ability are in the "very low" category. Students' difficulties in mathematical language are most dominant in sentence indicators. The dominant error is that students do not write down what they know and ask. The influencing factors are internal factors: students are not used to reading long questions, so word problems are more difficult than telling stories directly; not careful; difficulty connecting to concepts (creating models); and students focus on mathematical symbols, not the language of the problem. External factors: Students are rarely introduced to word problems; the teacher does not use a special approach to word problems material learning; the language in the word problems is not yet communicative and authentic (based on real events, there are actors, settings and themes that are liked); and the environment is less supportive. This research concludes that mathematics word problems have a language structure from informal to formal (symbols) arranged in words, phrases, sentences and discourse. Word problems must be designed with communicative and more authentic language, more continuous learning of word problems is provided in each learning topic, and the learning environment at school and home must be mutually supportive.

Abstract

Audiobooks are a form of technological development that allows students and teachers to access information more easily and flexibly. This study uses the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method by analyzing relevant previous studies and providing a clear and comprehensive description of the use of audiobooks in the context of learning in schools. This research can provide practical recommendations for teachers and schools in implementing audiobooks as part of their learning strategies, as well as other researchers who are interested in researching audiobooks in learning. The results of this study indicate that the use of audiobooks in school learning has been extensively researched and implemented in various contexts and subjects in various countries. Of the 100 articles identified, 72% were written in English, and this research shows that the use of audiobooks in learning is mostly implemented in language subjects. In addition, the type of research that is most often used is qualitative, while the subjects that are most often the focus of research are students, especially to develop listening and reading competencies. Indonesia was also identified as the country that most often conducts research on the implementation of audiobooks in classroom learning.

Abstract

It is still uncertain whether teacher professional development is still in great demand, especially in the field of educational research. This research is aimed as preliminary research to determine the research gaps to be taken, especially those related to teacher professional development programs (PDPs) at the elementary level during last decade. The research method used was a computational mechanism using several applications such as Publish or Perish, Microsoft Excel, and VOS viewer. The number of PDP studies in mathematics learning at the elementary level during this period was 1038 but due to the limited results of the Publish and Perish software, sampling was carried out and 999 data were filtered. The results show that the trend has experienced a downgrade in the last five years, the most research in this focus was conducted in 2015 with 173 works, followed by 2013 with 170. The data showed a fluctuating trend from 2013 to 2017 before declined drastically with only 5 publications in each of the last two years. VOSviewer was used for computational mapping and showed that research opportunities for PDPs should be increased, especially at the elementary level. Based on network visualization, PDP is closely to several other keywords.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the implementation of statistical literacy at the elementary schools level within the mathematics curriculum. Statistical literacy is a essential skill that enables students to understand, analyze, and interpret data and information critically. In an era where information and data are abundant, having statistical literacy skills has become increasingly relevant and crucial for developing students' understanding of the world, which involves various data-based information. This study uses a qualitative approach by analyzing government regulation documents concerning the mathematics curriculum used at the elementary school level. The results of the research indicate that statistical literacy has not been fully integrated effectively into the elementary school mathematics curriculum. While there have been some efforts to incorporate statistical concepts into mathematics learning, there are still challenges in teaching data analysis skills and interpreting statistical information more deeply.

Abstract

Problem solving ability is an ability that every student should be able to master so that the learning process runs smoothly. In problem solving, students are expected to have the ability to understand concepts, solve problems and be able to relate concepts to each other. The ability to understand problems must be related to students' daily lives, so that students can easily and longer remember the material given by the teacher. The aim of this research is to analyze the problem solving abilities faced by each student in solving volume cube problems. This type of research is qualitative research with qualitative descriptive methods. Subject selection was carried out using the Purposive Sampling method and 6 students were obtained as research subjects. Data collection was carried out using test and non-test methods, for the test students were given questions in the form of cube volume questions and for the non-test interviews and observations were carried out. Based on the research results, it shows that students who have high problem solving abilities almost master all indicators of problem solving abilities because there is only 1 indicator that students lack mastery, namely the indicator of solving problems with a plan. Students who fall into the category of moderate problem solving ability are able to understand problems and formulate plans but are still considered lacking in problem solving ability because there are several indicators that one of the students lacks control over, namely understanding problems and solving problems with a plan. Students who fall into the low problem solving ability category are considered to be lacking in problem solving ability because they lack mastery of each indicator, namely understanding problems, preparing plans, implementing plans, and looking back.

Abstract

Many preservice mathematic teachers use a learning strategy (a model, method, or approach) that is connected to one or more mathematical abilities when preparing their final projects. This research project examines the use of this tactic through a (quasi) experimental learning approach. Upon selecting a learning approach, some final-year students investigate its impact on enhancing students' mathematical proficiency. Aim of this research is to determine the suitability profile of the final assignment of preservice mathematic teachers at Universitas Samudra between the title and the learning design applied and to find solutions to improve the understanding of preservice mathematic teachers at Universitas Samudra in preparing their final assignments. The results of the praxiological analysis skills in constructing and implementing learning designs for preservice mathematic teachers at Universitas Samudra are: 18,18% hhe learning implementation plan is in accordance with the learning model and is explained in the final assignment discussion, 42,42% the learning implementation plan is in accordance with the learning model but is not explained in the final assignment discussion, and 23,33% The learning implementation plan is not in accordance with the chosen learning model.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh kemandirian belajar terhadap kemampuan penalaran mahasiswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode korelasional. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh mahasiswa di salah satu perguruan tinggi swasta di kota bandung yang mengambil mata kuliah statsitika sosial dengan dipilih 1 kelas sebagai sampel penelitian yaitu kelas A mahasiswa semester tiga. Teknik pengumpulan data diperoleh dengan menggunakan tes yang berbentuk uraian soal mengenai kemampuan penalaran statistis, dan non tes yang berbentuk angket kemandirian belajar, serta wawancara yang dilakukan secara online. Kemudian, data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji regresi linear sederhana. Berdasarkan hasil pengolahan data diperoleh persamaan regresi yaitu Y = 7,50 + 0,35X dengan koefisien determinasi sebesar 79%. Maka, kemandirian belajar memiliki pengaruh yang positif terhadap variabel kemampuan penalaran statistis mahasiswa sebesar 79%, dan 21% lainnya dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain yang tidak diteliti pada penelitian ini. Selanjutnya, diperoleh nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,00 < 0,05, maka 𝐻0 ditolak. Dengan demikian, dapat diartikan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara kemandirian belajar terhadap kemampuan penalaran statistis mahasiswa.
