Abstract

The ability to choose strategies is very necessary to achieve goals and education, especially for the selection of language skills learning strategies in elementary school students. One that can be used is a strategy to strengthen the language skills of elementary school students with a bilingual dormitory model. This study aims to examine what strategies are carried out by Madrasah Ibttidaiyyah Darul Hikmah Bantarsoka in strengthening the Arabic language skills of its students. This research is a descriptive qualitative research field. The research data came from observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this study show that the bilingual boarding program does not run easily, there are inhibiting and supporting factors. Inhibiting factors include the many complaints and demands of parents, the lack of time to learn Arabic, the students themselves. And the supporting factors are the support from the school, the use of gamification methods, the existence of dormitory assistants, and Arabic teaching teachers and the availability of supporting learning facilities such as Arabic hiwar modules, al-mufrodzat al-haitiyyah, Arabic flashcards, educational sound cards.

Abstract

This study assesses the effectiveness of project-based digital learning in which students design a prototype of an Arduino-based intelligent watering and capacitive soil moisture sensor by following the ADDIE flow. The design used was ex post facto descriptive-correlational in one class totaling 117 students, conducted in Indonesia, where traditional farming methods dominate. Achievement data was taken from six components of the assessment (participatory activities, project scores, assignments, quizzes, middle exams, and final exams). Descriptive statistics are visualized through histograms and box-plots; Pearson correlation tests and multiple linear regression were performed to predict the contribution of each component to the final exam, while the technical validity of the prototype was evaluated in ten laboratory cycles using p-charts and Kaplan Meier analysis. The results showed that the value of clustered projects was in the high category (M = 86.8; SD = 7.1) and significantly correlated with the final exam (r = 0.54; β = 0.22; p < 0.01), explaining ± 22 % additional cognitive variance after the formative test was controlled. Participatory activities had a moderate correlation with the final exam (r ≈ 0.50), signaling a transfer of problem-solving skills acquired during prototype collaboration. Tool reliability tests showed 70% of prototypes were in stable function within the first ten cycles; All points were within control limits although the three initial failures hinted at the need for advanced sensor calibration. Learning constraints such as low quiz and assignment scores and wiring/coding difficulties were addressed through micro-deadlines, quick feedback, pair-programming clinics, and prerequisite videos. These findings confirm that ADDIE-based IoT projects can simultaneously improve students' knowledge, practical skills, and problem-solving disposition, provided they are accompanied by pedagogical supports and ongoing technical validation.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a valid and practical problem-based learning e-module using Heyzine Flipbook to enhance student understanding of static fluid concepts. This study employed the Research and Development (R&D) methodology using the 4D Model. The participants included expert validators, consisting of media experts, material experts, practitioners, and fifty eleventh-grade students from various high schools. Data were collected through validation instruments and student response questionnaires, and the results were analyzed descriptively. The findings revealed that the developed e-Module fulfilled the criteria of being highly valid and practical. Media expert validation achieved an average score of 85%, while material expert validation obtained a score of 83.5%, indicating that the e-Module is suitable for use. Student responses to the e-Module were overwhelmingly positive, with a practicality score of 88%. This study suggests that PBL-based e-Modules can serve as an effective alternative learning medium to promote interactive learning and enhance the quality of physics education. Future research should focus on evaluating the effectiveness of this e-Module on a larger scale and further exploring its application in teaching static fluid concepts.

Abstract

Optical material is widely applied in everyday technology but remains difficult for students to grasp due to its abstract nature. This challenge is linked to students’ low critical thinking skills—an essential 21st-century competence. This study aims to enhance students' critical thinking on optical topics through the integration of project-based learning with a STEAM approach and visual simulation media (PjBL-STEAM-MSV). A mixed-method design with an untreated control group and pretest-posttest was employed. The participants were 54 students from SMAN 1 Woha, NTB, Indonesia, divided into an experimental group (PjBL-STEAM-MSV) and a control group (conventional instruction). Data collection used a critical thinking essay test (5 items, reliability = 0.636) and interview guidelines. Quantitative data were analyzed using t-tests, N-gain, and effect size; qualitative data through reduction, coding, and interpretation. Results indicated that PjBL-STEAM-MSV significantly improved students’ critical thinking in optics (α = 0.01). The experimental group's N-gain score was 0.48 (moderate), higher than the control group’s 0.20 (low). The most notable improvements in the experimental group were in evaluation and explanation, while in the control group, gains were limited to analysis and explanation. Experimental group students struggled with explanation during presentations due to time constraints, whereas the control group showed difficulty across most indicators due to a focus on rote learning. Interviews revealed that experimental group students experienced more active, interactive, and structured learning. This aligns with the high effect size of 1.7. Further research should explore media development and sustained student mentoring to maximize outcomes.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (IRE) at the Early Childhood Education (ECE) level faces challenges in applying approaches that are in accordance with the characteristics of children's cognitive development. There is still a tendency to use verbalistic and abstract methods that are not in accordance with the concrete needs of children, so that the process of internalizing religious values is less than optimal. This research aims to examine how IRE learning can contribute to early childhood cognitive development. The main focus is to identify the characteristics of cognitive development that arise through contextual learning approaches, experience-based, and oriented to the internalization of religious values. The research method used is qualitative literature, which involves problem identification, source tracking, critical analysis and synthesis of findings to build a comprehensive understanding. The findings show that through a concrete experience-based learning approach, children can understand religious concepts in a simpler and more meaningful way. In addition, the internalization of religious values adapted to the stage of cognitive development of children can strengthen the foundation of critical thinking, morals, and spirituality. This research provides important pedagogical implications in designing learning that is responsive to children's developmental needs, as well as enriching the theory and practice of Islamic religious education in ECE.

Abstract

This study presents the design, development, and evaluation of a Smart Guidance Stick (SGS) that enables visually impaired children to navigate safely while serving as a hands-on digital-learning project for university students. Following the ADDIE R&D framework, researchers analysed user needs, designed an Arduino-based prototype integrating an HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor, buzzer, lightweight cane body, and battery pack, then built, implemented, and refined the device. Thirty experimental trials conducted with child users in both indoor and outdoor settings produced a mean absolute distance error of 1.13 cm (SD = 0.84 cm) and 80 % detection accuracy for a ≤2 cm error threshold, fulfilling the <3 cm safety margin widely accepted for mobility aids. Although performance trails advanced dual-sensor canes reported in recent literature, SGS offers a low-cost, single-sensor alternative suitable for classroom fabrication. Pedagogically, the project embodies project-based learning principles: students apply coding, electronics, and CAD skills while cultivating empathy and digital literacy through co-design with disabled stakeholders. The hybrid learning mode delivered via the SPADA UM Metro LMS further illustrates inclusive digital education practice. Comparative analysis with prior studies highlights avenues for improvement sensor redundancy, signal-filtering algorithms, GPS or IoT modules, and expanded user experience tests to raise accuracy above 90 % and extend battery life beyond five hours. Overall, SGS demonstrates how affordable assistive technology can enhance blind learners’ autonomy and simultaneously act as a rich instructional object, modelling the integration of engineering design, social responsibility, and accessibility within higher-education curricula

Abstract

Literasi digital di kalangan guru pesantren masih menghadapi tantangan, terutama dalam pemanfaatan media pembelajaran interaktif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperkuat literasi digital guru pesantren melalui pelatihan penggunaan media pembelajaran interaktif berbasis Google Sites dan PhET. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan bahwa 80% peserta mengalami peningkatan kepercayaan diri dalam mengoperasikan kedua alat tersebut. Google Sites dan PhET dinilai efektif dalam mendukung pembelajaran, khususnya pada mata pelajaran sains yang membutuhkan pendekatan visual dan eksperimen. Namun, ditemukan beberapa kendala teknis, seperti kesulitan dalam pembuatan situs pembelajaran yang efektif, yang menunjukkan perlunya dukungan tambahan pada tahap implementasi dan pasca-pelatihan. Meskipun keterampilan teknis guru meningkat, evaluasi lebih lanjut diperlukan untuk mengukur dampak jangka panjang terhadap kualitas pembelajaran di pesantren, terutama dengan melibatkan siswa sebagai responden dalam analisis. Secara keseluruhan, penggunaan Google Sites dan PhET menunjukkan potensi besar dalam meningkatkan interaktivitas serta pemahaman siswa terhadap materi pembelajaran. Untuk menjaga keberlanjutan manfaat pelatihan, direkomendasikan pelatihan lanjutan, forum diskusi, dan pengembangan berkelanjutan media berbasis teknologi dalam mendukung pengajaran yang lebih efektif di lingkungan pesantren.

Abstract

Laboratorium menjadi salah satu sarana dan prasarana penting dalam proses pembelajaran yang digunakan untuk menarik keingintahuan dan memotivasi siswa belajar melalui praktikum. Dari keingintahuan, penalaran siswa akan terbentuk dan menjadi bekalnya nanti untuk menempuh baik itu jenjang pendidikan yang lebih tinggi maupun dunia kerja. Oleh karena itu, Pemerintah menyatakan pada Peraturan Menteri Pendidikan Nasional RI No. 24 Tahun 2007 dimana ruang laboratorium merupakan prasarana wajib yang harus dimiliki setiap satuan pendidikan. Pengaruh suatu stimulus tak akan optimal hanya dengan ada; stimulus tersebut harus memiliki fitur lengkap dan mutu yang tepat untuk mencapai sasaran dengan baik. Namun, bagi MA Alif Laam Miim Surabaya yang masih terhitung muda dan baru mulai beroperasi pada tahun 2021, kelengkapan laboratotium masih sangat terbatas. Terlebih lagi, SDM yang ada juga belum terlatih untuk mengelola laboratorium, memperagakan alat, dan mendampingi ekperimen siswa di laboratorium. Oleh karenanya, kegiatan pelatihan pengelolaan laboratorium sains untuk MA Alif Laam Miim Surabaya penting dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan kelengkapan sarana prasarana laboratorium dan kualitas SDM di MA Alif Laam Miim Surabaya. Kegiatan ini diawali dengan serah terima alat-alat eksperimen untuk Laboratorium MA Alif Laam Miim. Tahapan selanjutnya adalah pelatihan terkait manajemen dan operasional laboratorium, penggunaan alat-alat praktikum, serta penyusunan modul eksperimen oleh tim pengabdian yang dilakukan dengan metode ceramah dan praktik langsung. Melalui kegiatan ini, diharapkan MA Alif Laam Miim akan terbantu untuk mencetak generasi santri berkeingintahuan ilmiah yang siap terjun ke dalam dunia penelitian

Abstract

Perayaan SEBA Baduy merupakan bentuk komunikasi budaya yang menggambarkan hubungan sakral antara masyarakat adat Baduy dan pemerintah, sekaligus menjadi simbol ketaatan masyarakat terhadap amanat leluhur. Di tengah era digital, tradisi ini menghadapi tantangan besar dalam menjaga kemurnian nilai-nilai adat serta peluang baru dalam pelestariannya melalui media digital. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami pengalaman komunikatif masyarakat Baduy dalam perayaan SEBA serta menelaah bagaimana ruang digital digunakan sebagai sarana pemberdayaan dan pelestarian budaya lokal.  Pendekatan fenomenologi digunakan untuk mengeksplorasi makna dan kesadaran masyarakat terhadap praktik budaya ini, dengan metode pengumpulan data berupa wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipatif, dan dokumentasi visual selama kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat di Desa Kanekes, Lebak, Banten. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa masyarakat Baduy Luar, khususnya generasi muda, mulai memanfaatkan media sosial seperti Instagram dan WhatsApp secara selektif untuk mendokumentasikan serta mempromosikan nilai-nilai budaya SEBA. Mereka melakukannya dengan tetap memperhatikan batas-batas adat. Sebaliknya, masyarakat Baduy Dalam menunjukkan resistensi terhadap digitalisasi sebagai bentuk proteksi terhadap kesakralan adat dan identitas komunitas.  Fenomena ini mencerminkan adanya dialektika antara pelestarian dan modernisasi, di mana digitalisasi tidak sekadar dipahami sebagai adopsi teknologi, melainkan sebagai proses negosiasi nilai dan pembentukan identitas kultural baru. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa pelibatan komunitas adat secara partisipatif dalam proses digitalisasi budaya sangat penting agar tidak terjadi reduksi makna budaya menjadi komoditas visual belaka.

Abstract

Biopriming merupakan teknik inovatif dalam meningkatkan daya kecambah dan kesehatan benih melalui kolonisasi mikroba menguntungkan. Penelitian ini mengevaluasi efek biopriming menggunakan konsorsium mikroba bermanfaat yang mengandung Bacillus sp., Pseudomonas sp., dan Rhizobium sp. terhadap perkecambahan dan dinamika mikroba pada benih kelapa sawit (Elaeis guineensis). Studi dilakukan menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok dua faktor dengan tiga jenis perendaman (formula NB, formula Effervescent, dan air sebagai kontrol) dan tiga varietas benih (Nirmala, Lestari, Sejahtera). Parameter yang diamati adalah populasi mikroba sebelum dan setelah benih berkecambah serta daya kecambah benih kelapa sawit. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan metode analisis varians (ANOVA). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa biopriming meningkatkan jumlah bakteri pemfiksasi nitrogen dan pelarut fosfat sebelum dan setelah perkecambahan, yang berdampak positif terhadap daya kecambah. Varietas Nirmala dan Lestari mengalami peningkatan daya kecambah yang signifikan, sedangkan varietas Sejahtera tidak menunjukkan perbedaan berarti. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa biopriming mikroba berpotensi diterapkan secara luas dalam produksi benih kelapa sawit, mendukung praktik pertanian berkelanjutan. Studi lanjutan diperlukan untuk mengoptimalkan formulasi mikroba dan mengevaluasi dampak jangka panjangnya pada produktivitas tanaman. Biopriming is an innovative technique to enhance seed germination and health by promoting beneficial microbial colonization. This study evaluates the effects of biopriming using a consortium of beneficial microbes containing Bacillus sp., Pseudomonas sp., and Rhizobium sp. on germination performance and microbial dynamics in oil palm (Elaeis guineensis) seeds. A randomized complete block design with a factorial approach was applied, involving three soaking treatments (NB formula, Effervescent formula and water as a control) and three seed varieties (Nirmala, Lestari, Sejahtera). The observed parameters were the microbial population before and after seed germination, as well as the germination rate of oil palm seeds. The data obtained were analyzed using the analysis of variance (ANOVA) method. The results indicate that biopriming significantly increased the abundance of nitrogen-fixing and phosphate-solubilizing bacteria before and after germination, positively impacting seed germination rates. Nirmala and Lestari varieties exhibited significant improvements in germination, whereas Sejahtera showed no substantial difference. This study confirms that microbial biopriming holds great potential for large-scale oil palm seed production, supporting sustainable agricultural practices. Further research is required to optimize microbial formulations and assess the long-term effects on plant productivity.
