Abstract

Innovation and adaptation are strategic aspects in maintaining the sustainability and relevance of Islamic educational institutions amid global social, technological, and economic changes. This study aims to analyse and evaluate the concepts and practices of innovation and adaptation in Islamic education management, both from theoretical and empirical perspectives. The research method used is a qualitative study based on library research with a conceptual analysis and content analysis approach to relevant primary and secondary sources, including books and national journal articles. The data were analysed to identify the principles of innovation and adaptation that are in line with Islamic values. The results of the study show that, from an Islamic perspective, innovation (tajdid) is not merely understood as technical renewal, but as a renewal of values based on tawhid, while adaptation (takyif) is understood as the ability of institutions to adjust to change without neglecting the principles of sharia. The integration of the values of tawhid, shura, and maslahah in management practices enables Islamic educational institutions to combine modern creativity with classical spirituality. Thus, innovation and adaptation based on Islamic values play an important role in realising productive, ethical, and falah-oriented (worldly and spiritual happiness) Islamic education management.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the integration of the Systems Approach and the Contingency Approach in educational management from an Islamic perspective, in order to develop an effective management framework that is in line with Sharia objectives. The research uses a descriptive qualitative approach through a literature review of management literature, Islamic education, and relevant conceptual sources. The data is analysed thematically by examining the main concepts of both management approaches and relating them to Islamic values, such as tauhid, syura, amanah, and maslahah. The results of the study show that the integration of the Systems and Contingency Approaches based on Islamic values produces a holistic management model that is adaptive to change without losing its spiritual orientation. This model not only emphasises organisational efficiency and effectiveness but also blessings, social justice, and moral responsibility, making it relevant for application in the management of Islamic educational institutions amid the dynamics of the modern environment

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the central role of power and politics as dynamics that are inseparable from modern organisational life. The focus of the study is on how informal power is formed, how political behaviour influences decision-making processes, and its implications for organisational ethics and effectiveness. The method used is a systematic literature review of contemporary studies and thoughts on organisational power and politics that developed in the period 2020–2024. The results of the study show that power in modern organisations no longer stems solely from structural positions, but from the ability to control information, build narratives, manage relationships, and deal with uncertainty. Organisational politics functions as a mechanism for distributing resources, managing conflicts of interest, and responding to complex environmental dynamics. These findings confirm that organisations need to be understood as dynamic political arenas, requiring managers to possess political intelligence in order to manage influence and power effectively and ethically

Abstract

This study aims to examine the concept of tabayyun from the perspective of Ulumul Qur'an and analyse its implications for Islamic education management. The method used is a literature study with a qualitative-descriptive approach. Data was collected through analysis of Qur'anic verses related to the principle of tabayyun, tafsir studies, and relevant Islamic education management literature. The analysis was conducted by interpreting the conceptual meaning of tabayyun and relating it to the practice of managing Islamic educational institutions. The results of the study indicate that tabayyun has a strategic position as a managerial principle that emphasises information verification, caution in decision-making, and fairness in problem solving. The application of tabayyun not only functions in the realm of individual ethics, but can also be integrated as the basis for information management, quality assurance, and governance of Islamic educational institutions. Thus, the integration of the principle of tabayyun has the potential to strengthen Islamic education management that is professional, accountable, and in line with Qur'anic values

Abstract

Stunting remains a major nutritional problem in Indonesia, including in South Sumatra, which is influenced by low vitamin A intake. Yellow pumpkin (Cucurbita moschata), as a local food rich in β-carotene, has the potential to be a sustainable source of provitamin A. This review analyzes the scientific evidence on the role of vitamin A in child growth and the effectiveness of yellow pumpkin fortification as a stunting prevention strategy. Literature search was conducted using the PRISMA approach on PubMed, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar. Ten relevant articles were reviewed to assess biological aspects, nutritional composition, processing technology, and implementation challenges. The results showed that yellow pumpkin fortification improved the provitamin A content and nutritional quality of the product without decreasing sensory acceptability, with the best β–carotene retention through steaming and light roasting. In South Sumatra, the abundant availability of raw materials and low production costs support the implementation of local food-based fortification. However, evidence on the direct impact on vitamin A status and linear growth is still limited so further research is needed. Overall, yellow pumpkin fortification is a potential and sustainable approach to support efforts to accelerate stunting reduction.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the development and compare the legal politics of the Religious Court in Indonesia and Turkey. This study is library research with an interdisciplinary approach to historical-legal and comparative law research. This study presents a historical-legal perspective and a comparative analysis of the law to obtain similarities and differences in the legal politics of the Religious Court in Indonesia and Turkey. The legal politics of the Religious Court in Indonesia are divided into pre-Colonial, independence, and reform periods. In Turkey, the Religious Court is divided into three periods: before the Tanzimat, after the Tanzimat, and during Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's reforms. A comparative analysis of the law found that the Religious Courts in Indonesia and Turkey initially applied Islamic law. Still, later restrictions were placed on it in an attempt to abolish it. The difference is that the Religious Court in Indonesia still enforces Islamic law as a positive law in certain fields and regions. The Religious Court in Turkey was abolished and replaced by a regular Court based on European law. The existence of the Religious Court in Indonesia demonstrates the success of legal pluralism, while legal secularism has shifted legal pluralism in Turkey.
Legal View on the Definition of Advocates as Law Enforcement Officers from a Positive Law Perspective Muhammad Taufiq

Abstract

This study examines the legal perspective on the profession of advocates as law enforcers in Indonesia, focusing on the inconsistency of referring to advocates as law enforcement officers, similar to judges, prosecutors, and police. Based on Law Number 18 of 2003 concerning Advocates, Article 5 paragraph (1), advocates have the status of law enforcers who are free, independent, and guaranteed by law, but do not have the same characteristics and authority as law enforcement officers. Advocates play a crucial role in providing legal services, including consultation, assistance, and defense, for the interests of clients, without the bureaucratic hierarchy and authority that often accompany detention, prosecution, or legal decision-making. This study uses a normative juridical method by analyzing laws and regulations, expert opinions, and legal literature. The results of the study indicate that advocates play a crucial role in maintaining justice and protecting human rights within the justice system, encompassing both criminal and civil matters, with the principles of independence and immunity that are recognized nationally and internationally. However, referring to advocates as law enforcement officers is inappropriate due to differences in duties, functions, and independence. This study recommends reaffirmation in regulations to clarify the status of advocates as independent law enforcers, as well as increasing public understanding to strengthen the integrity of the advocate profession in supporting a fair justice system in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study was intended to design and determine the effectiveness of a visual novel-based educational game in enhancing the understanding of basic computer subjects for high school students. The research used the ADDIE model as its development framework, which stands for Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The analysis phase revealed that students were having difficulty understanding concepts about computers because conventional lecture-based teaching methods were being used. The visual novel game was designed by combining narrative storylines with illustrations, interactive quizzes, and decision-making elements to engage students in learning activities. Media and material experts validated the product with feasibility scores of 90% and 88%, both categorized as highly feasible. Implementation involved 26 tenth-grade students who completed pretest and posttest assessments; results indicated significant learning improvement with average scores increasing from 5.81 (41.5%) to 10.77 (76.9%), producing an N-Gain value of 0.61 (medium category). Student response questionnaires indicated high acceptance with an overall score of 87.58%—particularly in game usefulness at 94.23% and learning experience at 91.35%. This proves that visual novel-based educational games can improve student understanding, motivation, and engagement in learning basic computers as an alternative to conventional teaching methods in ICT education.
