Abstract

Bilingual education plays an important role in improving students' language competence and cultural understanding, the success of which depends on interactive, contextual, and developmentally appropriate learning media. This research aims to design bilingual-based learning media that is in accordance with the characteristics of students and the curriculum, as well as to analyze its effectiveness and implementation in the learning process. This research uses a qualitative approach with the type of literature review. Data collection is done by literature review through identification, collection, and selection of literature. The results obtained in this study are that in the context of bilingual learning, the media not only functions to provide material understanding for students but also as a means to increase students' vocabulary and skills in foreign languages, especially English. Therefore, the right learning media is needed to convey the material so that the learning objectives are achieved optimally.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze various bilingual learning models implemented in primary schools and evaluate their effects on students learning outcomes and communication skills. Through a literature review of journals, books, and scientific documents, it was found that bilingual learning models such as submersion, structured immersion, transition, enrichment immersion, cooperative bilingual, and Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) each present unique advantages and challenges. The transition model and cooperative bilingual model are considered most suitable for primary school students, as they take into account children's linguistic, cognitive, and psychosocial development. The analysis reveals that implementing bilingual learning has a positive impact on language proficiency, critical thinking skills, and students' confidence in using a foreign language, particularly English. However, several challenges hinder effective implementation, including limited teacher proficiency in both languages, varying student language abilities, and a lack of teaching resources and professional training. Therefore, effective implementation strategies, systemic school support, and the development of adaptive bilingual models are necessary to enhance the quality of primary education in Indonesia. This study is expected to contribute to the development of more effective and contextually relevant bilingual teaching practices.

Abstract

In the era of globalization, English proficiency has become a critical skill, yet elementary school students in Indonesia still show relatively low mastery of the language. This article explores various bilingual learning models through a Systematic Literature Review of national studies. The analysis focuses on strategies such as the Global English Class, Inside-Outside Circle, and Cooperative and Collaborative Learning approaches. Findings indicate that bilingual instructionwhen structured, aligned with student characteristics, and supported by competent teachers and adequate resourcessignificantly enhances students' English skills and learning motivation. Flexible, interactive, and engaging teaching models prove more effective in creating a positive learning environment. This study recommends the adoption of adaptive bilingual learning models to improve the quality of primary education in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of bilingual learning in Elementary Schools in terms of models, approaches, methods, and learning media. The reason for choosing this topic is based on the importance of mastering two languages from an early age and the need to map out the right learning strategy. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data collection techniques are carried out through observations of bilingual learning videos uploaded on YouTube, to describe how teachers plan and implement bilingual learning in real terms. The results of the study show that the preview-review model is effective in balancing the use of Indonesian and English. The communicative approach has been proven to develop students' language skills holistically. The Problem Based Learning method increases student participation and critical thinking, while media such as learning videos and teaching aids help deliver material contextually and interestingly. So the integration between the right models, approaches, methods, and media is very important to create interactive, meaningful bilingual learning that is able to develop the multilingual competence of elementary school students.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of bilingual learning in Indonesian primary schools, focusing on the use of learning videos as instructional media. A qualitative approach with a case study method was employed to explore the strategies, models, and media used in bilingual instruction. Data were collected through observation and analysis of bilingual learning videos. The results indicate that bilingual learning positively impacts students' vocabulary acquisition and critical thinking skills. However, several challenges were identified, including low student participation, limited understanding of English vocabulary, and teachers' difficulties in balancing the use of Indonesian and English. The study also reveals that various teaching approaches were applied, such as cooperative learning, experiential learning, and problem-based learning. The instructional methods and media varied as well, including the use of videos, music, worksheets, and visual aids. Based on these findings, this research recommends the development of more interactive learning strategies, enhancing teachers' bilingual teaching skills, and providing more creative learning media to support effective bilingual learning in primary schools.

Abstract

The real implementation in primary school learning activities has many kinds of learning models used by teachers, especially in improving foreign language learning (English) at school. The learning model that is often used to improve knowledge about English is the bilingual learning model. This study aims to analyze and identify bilingual learning models applied in primary school student learning in Indonesia. The method used in this research is a literature study with the type of research which is descriptive qualitative research. The researcher uses the literature study method to collect data on sources related to the research topic to be used. Then, the data that has been collected is then analyzed using a qualitative descriptive analysis method. The results showed that an effective bilingual learning model to be implemented in elementary schools is a model that not only supports the achievement of cognitive learning outcomes, but is also able to develop students' English and Indonesian language skills in a balanced manner. Inside-Outside Circle model, preview-review based on realia media, integrated skills learning, contextual learning assisted by visual media, and Talking Chips model are proven to increase students' active participation, speaking skills, and comprehension in two languages. Therefore, it is important for educational practitioners to choose an appropriate, integrated, and contextualized bilingual learning model in order to provide maximum impact in the learning process of students in elementary schools.

Abstract

Bilingual education is one of the learning strategies developed to answer global challenges in the world of education, especially in forming foreign language competencies of students since elementary school level. In the Indonesian context, the implementation of bilingual education still faces various obstacles, especially related to the lack of integration between theory and practice in learning. This study aims to analyze the theory and references of bilingual learning by reviewing methods, strategies, evaluations, and relevant supporting factors in the context of learning in elementary schools. The study was conducted using a literature review approach to various relevant national and international scientific articles. The results of the study indicate that bilingual learning requires methods that not only deliver material, but also develop students' cognitive functions. Effective learning strategies include a translanguaging approach, local cultural integration, and multimodal use of technology. Evaluation in bilingual learning needs to be designed holistically, assessing students' mastery of content as well as linguistic abilities. Meanwhile, the main supporting factors for the success of bilingual learning include teacher competence, school environmental support, active family roles, and an inclusive learning atmosphere. These findings are expected to contribute to the development of a bilingual learning model that is adaptive to the needs of the 21st century and becomes a practical reference for educators and education policy makers.
