Abstract

This research aims to develop a picture card product and apply a modeling approach to learning English vocabulary, aimed at improving the academic performance of fourth grade students at SDN Wonosari 01, Semarang City. The utilization of picture cards serves to facilitate teachers in delivering English lessons effectively in a classroom setting. These picture cards are organized based on the ADDIE model, which includes phases such as analysis, design, implementation, and evaluation. The rationale behind this study stems from the substandard academic performance of students in English language schools, which can be attributed to various factors, including the lack of diverse learning resources, ineffective teaching methodologies, and insufficient motivation of students towards learning English. The research methodology adopted for this study is quantitative in nature, using a research and development (R&D) framework. Data collection methods included observations, interviews, and questionnaire surveys. The data analysis process involved conducting the normality test, homogeneity assessment, and n-gain evaluation. After examining the findings, picture cards are considered very useful, categorized as “very valuable” to help the learning process. Picture cards were implemented using the modeling-the-way method to make learning more effective and interactive.

Abstract

Abstrak Penggunaan media pembelajaran yang kurang tepat dalam proses pembelajaran membaca mengakibatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas I SD rendah. Studi ini berfokus pada, mengembangankan, menguji kelayakan, dan keefektifan media video animasi untuk meningkatkan membaca permulaan pada siswa kelas I SD. Studi ini menerapkan pengembangan dengan menggunakan  model Borg & Gall yang mencakup 10 tahap yaitu : (1) potensi dan masalah; (2) pengumpulan data; (3) desain produk; (4) validasi produk; (5) revisi desain; (6) uji coba produk; (7) revisi produk; (8) uji coba pemakaian (9) revisi produk final (10) produk massal. Subjek yang terlibat dalan penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas I SDN Mranak 1 yang berjumlah 22 anak, 1 ahli materi pembelajaran, 1 ahli media pembelajaran. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu metode observasi, wawancara, angket, tes, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah teknik analisis data produk, analisis data awal. Analisis data akhir. Hasil review ahli materi pembelajaran sebesar 96,8% (sangat layak), ahli media pembelajaran sebesar 98,7% (sangat layak). Hasil uji skala besar mengalami peningkatan dengan kriteria sedang. Angket tanggapan guru dan siswa mendapatkan kriteria sangat baik. Hal tersebut dibuktikan dengan hasil rata-rata nilai posttest sebesar 83 dan nilai pretest sebesar 66 dengan prolehan N-gain sebesar 0,49  dalam kriteria sedang. Terdapat hal yang signifikan hasil belajar siswa sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan video animasi. Berdasarkan hasil analisis tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa video animasi pembelajaran pada memebaca permulaaan layak untuk dikembangkan dan digunakan oleh siswa sekolah dasar khususnya siswa kelas I SD. The use of inappropriate learning media in the reading learning process results in low learning outcomes for grade I elementary school students. This study focuses on, developing, testing the feasibility, and effectiveness of animated video media to improve early reading in grade I elementary school students. This study implements development using the Borg & Gall model which includes 10 stages, namely: (1) potential and problems; (2) data collection; (3) product design; (4) product validation; (5) design revision; (6) product trials; (7) product revision; (8) trial use (9) final product revision (10) mass product. The subjects involved in this study are 22 students in grade I of SDN Mranak I, 1 learning material expert, 1 learning media expert. The data collection methods used are observation, interview, questionnaire, test, and documentation methods. The data analysis techniques used are product data analysis techniques, initial data analysis. Final data analysis. The results of the review of learning material experts were 96.8% (very feasible), learning media experts were 98.7% (very feasible). The results of large-scale tests have increased with moderate criteria. The questionnaire of teacher and student responses received very good criteria. This is evidenced by the average posttest score of 83 and the pretest score of 66 with an N-gain of 0.49 in the medium criteria. There are significant student learning outcomes before and after using animated videos. Based on the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that the learning animation video on reading the beginning is suitable to be developed and used by elementary school students, especially grade I elementary school students.

Abstract

Pembelajaran bilingual di tingkat sekolah dasar menjadi perhatian utama untuk meningkatkan kemampuan bahasa dan pemahaman materi siswa. Tantangan yang dihadapi meliputi rendahnya penguasaan bahasa asing oleh tenaga pendidik dan kemampuan siswa yang masih dalam tahap perkembangan awal bahasa. Studi ini bertujuan menganalisis efektivitas metode preview-review dalam penerapan pembelajaran bilingual di sekolah dasar. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi literatur dengan pendekatan kualitatif, menganalisis berbagai penelitian terdahulu terkait strategi, tahapan pelaksanaan, dan keberhasilan metode ini. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode preview-review yang dikombinasikan dengan media visual dan strategi kooperatif mampu meningkatkan pemahaman siswa, mengurangi beban kognitif, serta memperkuat koneksi antarbahasa. Kesimpulan dari studi ini menyarankan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran bilingual berbasis preview-review yang sistematis dan didukung media yang tepat dapat menjadi solusi efektif untuk mengatasi tantangan pembelajaran dua bahasa di jenjang pendidikan dasar.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji strategi penggunaan modul bilingual dalam pembelajaran di lingkungan pendidikan dasar. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi literatur dengan data bersumber dari artikel-artikel ilmiah relevan. Analisis dilakukan secara deskriptif melalui pendekatan analisis isi, dan hasilnya disintesis secara naratif tematik. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran bilingual di sekolah dasar memiliki potensi besar dalam meningkatkan kemampuan kognitif dan literasi multibahasa siswa. Namun, implementasinya memerlukan dukungan strategi yang tepat, salah satunya melalui penyusunan modul bilingual. Modul yang efektif memiliki karakteristik interaktif, kontekstual, dan komunikatif, serta memuat kegiatan yang mendukung perkembangan kemampuan berbahasa dan pemahaman isi pelajaran secara seimbang. Strategi penyusunan modul bilingual perlu memperhatikan kebutuhan siswa, tujuan pembelajaran ganda (konten dan bahasa), penggunaan translanguaging, scaffolding, serta pemilihan materi dan aktivitas yang relevan. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan agar guru di tingkat dasar lebih aktif mengembangkan dan menerapkan modul bilingual yang terstruktur dan sesuai konteks untuk mendukung pembelajaran abad ke-21.

Abstract

Improving student outcomes in constructing simple English sentences is essential, particularly in elementary education, where foundational language skills are developed. In Indonesian elementary school, low performance in this area was linked to the lack of interactive learning media. This study aimed to address this gap by developing, assessing the feasibility of, and evaluating the effectiveness of interactive PowerPoint-based learning media for fourth-grade students. Using the ADDIE development model—comprising Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation—the study involved 26 students from SDN 02 Kendengsidialit Jepara, with data collected through observations, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The findings revealed a significant improvement in student performance, with the maximum score increasing from 71 in the pretest to 88.89 in the post-test. This improvement was confirmed by a paired t-test validating the media's effectiveness in enhancing learning outcomes. The analysis of pretest and post-test data further indicated moderate overall improvement underscoring the positive impact of the interactive PowerPoint-based learning approach. The study demonstrated that the interactive PowerPoint media is practical and feasible for improving students' mastery of simple English sentences. It is a valuable tool for enhancing language instruction in primary education.

Abstract

The use of learning media plays a crucial role in enhancing student learning outcomes; however, suboptimal utilization negatively impacts these results. This research aims to develop audio-visual learning media to address this issue. The study employs the Research and Development (R&D) method, utilizing the ADDIE development model, which consists of five phases: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Data collection methods include interviews, observations, tests, questionnaires, and documentation. Instruments used in this research comprise interview guides, documentation forms, questionnaires, and pre-test and post-test results. Data analysis is conducted through normality tests, t-tests, and n-gain tests. The t-test result (0.000 < 0.05) indicates a significant difference between pre-test and post-test outcomes. Additionally, the n-gain test yields a score of 76.45, demonstrating the effectiveness of the media before and after implementation. The research subjects consist of fourth-grade EFL learners at elementary schools. Assessments from media experts, material experts, teachers, and students indicate that the developed media is suitable for use in the learning process. The study concludes that audio-visual learning media effectively enhances the learning process and outcomes for EFL elementary school students.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan, menguji kelayakan, dan menguji keefektifan media Liforic berbasis macromedia flash pada kompetensi menganalisis informasi iklan dalam upaya meningkatkan hasil belajar kompetensi menganalisis informasi iklan pada siswa kelas V SMA. SDN Baledono 1 Purworejo. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D) yang mengadaptasi model dari Borg and Gall. Subyek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V SDN Baledono 1 Purworejo yang berjumlah 34 orang. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan peneliti adalah analisis data produk, analisis data awal dengan uji normalitas dan reliabilitas serta analisis data akhir dengan uji t dan uji n-gain. Dinyatakan sangat layak dengan nilai rata-rata sebesar 84,96% (77,94% ahli media dan 90,58% ahli materi). Berdasarkan perhitungan uji t diperoleh t hitung > t tabel yaitu 5,059 > 2,005 maka H0 ditolak. Sedangkan hasil peningkatan nilai rata-rata 9N-gain) pretest dan posttest siswa memperoleh hasil sebesar 0,47 dengan kriteria sedang. Kesimpulan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa media Liforic berbasis macromedia flash telah berhasil dikembangkan, layak berdasarkan hasil uji kelayakan ahli, dan efektif berdasarkan hasil uji efektivitas.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate how bilingual flashcards can be used as a teaching tool to help elementary school students understand concepts better. The research approach is a comprehensive literature evaluation that looks at related books, research papers, and scientific publications. The results show that bilingual flashcards help students become more proficient in language, especially in vocabulary acquisition, pronunciation, and content retention. Visual and interactive flashcards can increase student motivation and encourage active participation in the learning process. Many studies show that this medium can be used to improve Indonesian language learning, especially in identifying standard and non-standard vocabulary. This medium is also useful for learning other languages. Additionally, this medium is cost-effective, flexible, and easy to implement in small classrooms. However, its utilization remains uneven due to limitations in teachers' understanding and skills in designing and using the medium optimally. Therefore, teacher training and guidance are needed to maximize the use of bilingual flashcards in supporting language learning success at the elementary school level.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi rendahnya hasil belajar Bahasa Inggris siswa yang disebabkan karena kurangnya penguasan kosakata dan kalimat sederhana bahasa Inggris siswa, serta terbatasnya penggunaan mediapembelajaran Bahasa Inggris yang inovatif dan menarik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran PowerPoint interaktif, serta menguji kelayakan dan keefektifan media PowerPoint interaktif. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Research and Development (R&D) mengacu pada teori Borg dan Gall yang dimodifikasi menjadi delapan langkah. Adapun teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan yakni tes, angket, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian ini  adalah siswa kelas IV SDN Wates 01 berjumlah 30 siswa. Hasil pengembangan media PowerPoint interaktif memiliki beberapa menu yaitu halaman awal media, menu utama, menu petunjuk, menu capaian dan tujuan pembelajaran, halaman materi, video pembelajaran, kuis, serta halaman profil dan referensi. Hasil penelitian kelayakan menunjukkan media PowerPoint interaktif sangat layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran berdasarkan penilaian  oleh ahli media sebesar 100% dan ahli materi sebesar 97%. Hasilpenelitian keefektifan menunjukkan bahwa media efektif digunakan dalam pembelajaran, dilihat dari hasil uji-t yang didapatkan -thitung ≤ - ttabel yaitu -29,07 ≤ -2,04 terdapat perbedaan rata-rata hasil belajar antara sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan media, serta hasil belajar kognitif siswa dari rata-rata 59 menjadi 82 memiliki peningkatan  nilai signifikan N-gain 61 dengan kriteria sedang. Simpulan penelitian ini adalah media PowerPoint interaktif sangat layak dan efektif digunakan dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the potential for innovation in Indonesian language teaching materials based on local wisdom for third grade elementary school students. The method used in the research is RnD with the ADDIE development model, namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Data collection techniques in this study are interviews, observations, tests, valid, questionnaires and documentation. The data analysis techniques in this study include analysis of the validity of practicality and effectiveness of local wisdom teaching materials. The research results of the validation results carried out by the two validators as a whole reached 94% with very valid criteria and are suitable for implementation. The trial given to students that Indonesian teaching materials based on local wisdom get 83% is categorized as very valid. In conclusion, the innovation of Indonesian teaching materials based on local wisdom has proven to be very well used for reading comprehension of third grade students of SDN Karangsono 2 Mraggen Demak. Integrating local wisdom into teaching materials can enrich learning, make it more contextual, and encourage learners to appreciate their own culture more.
