Abstract

Introduction to the Problem: The deposit agreement in the debt agreement, as stated in the receipt, strategically influences the power dynamics between the creditor and the debtor. Often, the practice of such contracts is used to disguise the true intent. The deposit agreement provision behind the debt agreement ensures greater control over the repayment process. In the event of default, the creditor uses the receipt with the deposit clause to report the debtor for embezzlement. Purpose/Study Objectives: This paper analyses the provisions of debt agreements made in deposit receipts to find the best solution for fulfilling a balanced contractual relationship. Design/Methodology/Approach: This research employs a normative juridical approach, focusing on literature reviews, legislative regulations with specific details, and analytical descriptive research. Findings: This research shows that debt and deposit agreements contained in the deed of release of rights are valid and binding for the parties involved as long as no party denies them. However, upon closer examination of the agreement's intent and purpose, it becomes apparent that the agreement can be fabricated and contain invalid reasons. Although the principle of freedom of contract applies to the agreement, it does not mean that you can do it as freely as possible. Criminalizing someone for breaching a contract is not an appropriate course of action. It should be a concern for law enforcement officers unless there is strong evidence that embezzlement or fraud has occurred. Paper Type: Research Article

Abstract

This study examines English teachers' abilities to implement pedagogical competence in teaching English for Specific Purposes (ESP) in vocational high schools. Using an interpretive qualitative case study approach, the study examined five teachers from two different vocational high schools, using semi-structured interviews, observations, and document analysis to collect data. The findings revealed three main themes: the ability to design contextual learning, using interactive learning methods, and implementing authentic assessments. Teachers demonstrated competence in integrating English with vocational competence, tailoring their teaching to meet the specific needs of students' future careers. They utilized task-based learning, collaborative group discussions, and technology-based media to engage students and enhance their learning experiences. In addition, teachers used practice-based assessments, such as simulations and project-based assignments, to ensure that students could apply their English skills in real-world scenarios. This study emphasizes the importance of pedagogical competence in fostering an effective ESP learning environment where students are prepared for the demands of their respective industries. The implications of this study suggest that improving teachers' pedagogical competence can significantly improve ESP teaching, providing students with relevant skills for success in their future professions. This research contributes to developing teacher training programs aimed at improving vocational education.

Abstract

learning motivation, especially in the development of speaking skills in higher education. The purpose of this paper is to understand the students’ motivation in learning speaking skills in higher education using culturally responsive teaching identified as CRT. In this research the researchers used a qualitative method and used open-ended interviews to collect the data, conducting interviews with three participants, all students of an English language department. During the interviews, it was kept in mind that the focus was to gather information about the student’s experiences and perspectives on the adopted culturally responsive teaching approach. In this case, thematic analysis was used to analyze the collected data, since it helps to focus on the main themes and the repeated patterns that exist in the data collected. Three major areas were discussed as follows. The first theme is positive experiences with the culturally responsive teaching approach which indicates the positive experiences of the students as the students were made to feel valued and listened to in a learning environment, which incorporates student’s cultural realities as they learn. The second theme is appreciation of cultural diversity emphasizing that the students’ cultural background should be valued and used to increase their desire and interest in learning. The third constructed theme is the positive relationship with motivation, which depicts the clerical correlation between a culturally responsive teaching approach and students’ motivation level. Implications of the findings or discussion of the study These findings imply that culturally responsive teaching could improve students’ motivation toward learning speaking skills because of the more positive classroom environment. The findings of the research add to the existing literature on teaching practices for enhanced learning among college students, particularly arguing that there is a need to consider the cultural identities of students as important determinants of teaching practice. Subsequent studies should take up the following issues in understanding the long-term effects culturally responsive teaching yields on nearly all facets of language learning and the broader application of this pedagogical approach in various learning environments. The novelty of this research is that it emphasizes the importance of recognizing and integrating students’ cultural backgrounds as a key element in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Abstract

Development of Evidence Monitoring of PH Levels And Water Turbidity to Determine the Feasibility of Water Consumption. (Supervised by Muhammad Basri and Untung Suwardoyo). The most common method for detecting water quality parameters is by manually collecting samples and sending them to a laboratory for detection and analysis. However, with the advancement of time and technology, this method has become somewhat less relevant due to its manual nature. For that reason, a study was conducted titled "Development of Evidence-Based Monitoring for pH and Turbidity Levels to Determine Drinking Water Feasibility." This study aims to develop a monitoring process that also simplifies the assessment of water feasibility through an automated system, making the process more efficient and relevant. This monitoring system uses two indicators: turbidity and pH. The system is developed using a pH sensor SEN0161-V2 and a turbidity sensor DF Robot-SEN0189, with an ESP32 microcontroller.(Permenkes RI, 2010) It is designed to monitor changes in values in real time, which are then displayed through an Android application. The device is also equipped with a filtration system. Test results showed a change in turbidity levels from an initial value of 29.8 NTU (not suitable for consumption) to 4.8 NTU (suitable for consumption), within a water filtration cycle duration of 24 minutes and 56 seconds.

Abstract

General Background: Character education is crucial in shaping children’s personalities, with responsibility being a core value for social and personal development. This is particularly significant for orphans, who often face emotional vulnerabilities due to parental loss and require structured guidance in institutional care settings. Specific Background: The Annur Orphanage in Medan implements various parenting strategies aimed at fostering responsibility among its residents. However, previous studies on orphanage-based character formation have been limited, often lacking focus on specific traits like responsibility. Knowledge Gap: Few studies examine in detail the systematic parenting strategies within orphanages, especially in Annur Orphanage, and their role in cultivating responsibility in children. Aims: This study aims to explore and analyze the parenting strategies employed at Annur Orphanage to instill a sense of responsibility in orphans. Results: Using a descriptive qualitative approach, findings reveal that caregivers apply habituation, exemplary modeling, and task assignments—integrated with religious and moral values—supported by structured routines and compassionate engagement. These methods have proven effective in building independence, discipline, and social responsibility, despite challenges like limited resources and varied child backgrounds. Novelty: This research provides a focused, in-depth analysis of responsibility-oriented parenting strategies in an orphanage context, offering practical implications for similar institutions. Implications: The results can inform policy and practice in child welfare organizations, highlighting the importance of consistent, value-based, and humanistic approaches to developing responsible character in vulnerable children. Highlights: Effective use of habituation, example, and task assignment. Integration of religious and moral values in daily routines. Humanistic approach despite resource limitations. Abstract

Public participation in Indonesia faces a threat of systematic criminalization due to a procedural legal vacuum in Law Number 8 of 1981. This loophole enables the abuse of the legal process through SLAPP, a practice that silences critical voices and delegitimizes the constitutional guarantees for Human Rights. This study aims to analyze the urgency of and formulate a normative framework for comprehensively integrating an Anti-SLAPP mechanism into the Criminal Procedure Code Bill. Using a normative legal research approach, this study examines the disharmony between substantive protection norms and the absence of procedural enforcement instruments. The analysis reveals that without an early screening mechanism, a rule for shifting the burden of proof, and the recognition of a public interest defense, Law Number 8 of 1981 structurally fails to protect citizens. Therefore, this study recommends the integration of an inclusive and non-sectoral Anti-SLAPP mechanism into the Criminal Procedure Code Bill, designed to protect not only conventional activism but also participation in the digital space. This step is a fundamental prerequisite for strengthening the rule of law, fulfilling commitments to SDG 16, and ensuring the resilience of Indonesian democracy in the future.
