Abstract

Introduction: Employment contracts in the mining sector require employees to work away from home, determining the duration of their presence at the worksite, which typically spans several weeks or even months. This arrangement results in prolonged absence from their families and communities. Job performance is a critical aspect of organizational behavior, with higher levels of performance associated with fewer errors. In the mining industry, companies can sustain optimal working conditions despite the potential for human error arising from low individual performance, provided that overall performance levels remain high. The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of work–family conflict and family–work conflict on employee performance, with emotional exhaustion as a mediating variable, among employees of PT Sanca Sumber Semen, Indonesia. Method: This study adopts a quantitative research design, in which data are collected using a structured questionnaire employing a five-point Likert scale. A purposive sampling technique is applied, yielding a final sample of 160 employees of PT Sanca Sumber Semen. To test the proposed hypotheses, data are analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM).Results: The empirical results indicate that work–family conflict and family–work conflict have a positive and significant effect on emotional exhaustion. Furthermore, work–family conflict, family–work conflict, and emotional exhaustion negatively affect employee performance at PT Sanca Sumber Semen. These findings support the Conservation of Resources (COR) theory, which posits that when employees’ internal resources (such as emotional energy, time, and attention) are depleted by role conflict and emotional exhaustion, their capacity to maintain high performance declines significantly. Abstract

The development of information technology requires basic skills in understanding and managing computer networks, especially among students and the general public. However, hardware limitations are often an obstacle in the process of learning networks directly. To overcome this, this training activity was held with the aim of providing an understanding and basic skills regarding computer network simulation using hybrid topology through the Cisco Packet Tracer 7.3 application. The training method uses the Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach which actively involves participants in the process of identifying problems, planning, implementing, and evaluating. The results of the training showed that participants experienced an increase in understanding of network topology and were able to build hybrid network simulations independently. In addition, the use of Cisco Packet Tracer has proven effective as an interactive and applicable learning tool. With this training, it is hoped that participants will have the initial provisions to develop competencies in the field of computer networks, both for academic and professional needs. This activity also opens up opportunities for further training on a more complex and in-depth scale.

Abstract

growing rapidly and have the potential to put pressure on the hydrological system of the Watershed (DAS) and the dynamics of sedimentation in coastal areas. The applied open-pit mining system causes extensive land clearing and reduced vegetation cover, which can increase surface runoff and soil erosion. This study aims to analyze the spatial relationship between nickel mining land clearing, watershed hydrological response, and coastal sedimentation levels during the period 2016–2025. The data used are multi- temporal Sentinel-2 Level-2A satellite images analyzed using the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) to identify the condition of mining land clearing and the Normalized Difference Turbidity Index (NDTI) to represent the level of sedimentation and turbidity of coastal waters. Spatial analysis was carried out based on watershed units to examine the upstream–downstream relationship between the intensity of mining land clearing and sedimentation responses in the estuarine zone. The results show that watersheds with a dominant low NDVI value tend to experience increased surface runoff and potential soil erosion, which in turn contributes to increased coastal sedimentation as indicated by relatively high NDTI values. These findings confirm a strong link between land cover changes due to nickel mining activities, watershed hydrological responses, and coastal sedimentation intensity. This research emphasizes the importance of a watershed-based approach in nickel mining environmental management and sedimentation impact mitigation efforts to maintain the sustainability of coastal ecosystems.

Abstract

This study aims to systematically examine patterns of spiritualism and the impact of Saudi Arabian religious and cultural transmission on religious moderation in Indonesia through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR). The data consist of secondary qualitative data derived from peer-reviewed journal articles, academic proceedings, scholarly books, and research reports that examine Saudi Arabian religious-cultural influence, Islamic spiritualism, and religious moderation in Indonesia and the broader Asian Muslim context. Data sources were obtained from reputable academic databases, including Scopus, Web of Science, Google Scholar, DOAJ, and Garuda Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education. The selected literature was published between 2019 and 2025 and written in either English or Indonesian. After applying inclusion and exclusion criteria, 30 articles were deemed eligible and used as the primary corpus for analysis. Data collection was conducted through a systematic and multi-stage literature search strategy. Relevant keywords were identified through an initial scoping search and refined using Boolean operators (AND, OR) to enhance search precision. All retrieved publications were managed using reference management software (Mendeley) to organize citations and remove duplicates. Data analysis was performed using thematic synthesis, as developed by Thomas and Harden. The analytical process consisted of three main stages. First, line-by-line coding was applied to extract meaningful units related to cultural transmission, spiritualism, and religious moderation. Second, the initial codes were organized into descriptive themes that reflect recurring patterns across the literature. Third, analytical themes were developed through interpretative synthesis to generate conceptual insights into how Saudi Arabian cultural transmission interacts with local Indonesian socio-religious dynamics. This approach allows the integration of diverse methodological perspectives and facilitates the development of a comprehensive analytical framework that explains the relationship between transnational religious influence and religious moderation in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study investigates the fabrication and characterization of aluminium matrix composites reinforced with rice husk ash (RHA), using scrap aluminium as the base material and evaporative pattern casting as the manufacturing method. The work evaluates the effects of three key independent variables: pouring temperature, aluminium (Al)-RHA composition ratios, and styrofoam pattern thickness on the resulting composite properties. The dependent variables examined include surface roughness, Brinell hardness, and dimensional shrinkage-expansion. Experimental results show that increasing the pouring temperature and adjusting the composition ratio significantly influence the mechanical and physical properties of the composites. The highest hardness (45.6 HB) and fluidity (252.65 mm) were achieved at a 60:40 composition ratio and a pouring temperature of 750 °C, albeit at the cost of increased porosity. Additionally, the styrofoam pattern thickness was found to affect the dimensional stability and surface roughness of the composites, with thicker patterns resulting in higher surface roughness. This study highlights the potential of utilizing rice husk ash as a reinforcing material in aluminium matrix composites, offering a sustainable approach to improving material properties. The findings suggest that an optimal balance of composition ratio, pouring temperature, and pattern thickness is crucial to achieving desirable mechanical and physical characteristics, with implications for advanced manufacturing processes in the materials industry.

Abstract

Hulu Sungai Utara Regency is one of the regions in South Kalimantan Province that has a high potential for drought disasters due to the influence of climate variability, the relatively flat physical condition of the region, and limited spatial information regarding drought-prone areas. The absence of accurate vulnerability maps has resulted in mitigation efforts not being optimal. This study aims to map the level of drought vulnerability in Hulu Sungai Utara Regency and identify the main factors that influence it. The method used is a Geographic Information System (GIS)-based spatial analysis with a weighted overlay technique using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. The parameters analyzed include slope gradient, land elevation, rainfall, soil type, land cover, river density, vegetation index (NDVI), wetness index (NDWI), and land surface temperature (LST). The results show that most areas of Hulu Sungai Utara Regency are categorized as moderately drought-prone with a percentage of 95.361%, while the non-vulnerable category only covers 4.639% of the area, and no highly vulnerable areas were found. The most influential factor on drought vulnerability is rainfall, followed by NDWI and NDVI. It is hoped that the resulting vulnerability map can be the basis for mitigation planning and sustainable water resource management.
