Abstract

This study aimed to describe the factual management model of teacher competency improvement focusing on instructional planning, to describe the design of the management model of teacher competency improvement by utilizing online networks, and to know the validity of the management model. This research implemented a Research and Development (R & D) approach. As the focus of this study, the development of the model is in accordance with the theory of a product-oriented model. The products of this study are in accordance with the characteristics and analysis of the needs of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers. The products are regulated through a needs analysis process that meets the needs of the PAI teachers. The products are lesson plans (RPP) to be shared with colleagues. The results of the needs analysis show the importance of online tools in the improvement of the RPP. The management model of teacher competency improvement utilizes online networks using feasibility analysis, guideline preparation, user manuals, and readability tests that show positive responses from experts and users for the development of this model. The development of this model is seen as valid both from the descriptive aspects of the program and the expert analysis. The design of the teacher competency improvement training is deemed feasible to be developed for the benefit of the PAI teachers.

Abstract

Abstrak: This research is motivated by the existence of a successful team conflict for the selection of village heads, among adolescents, jealousy in formal work, ridicule from the two tribes, holding a wedding, the Minangkabau community living on the watch often not socializing with the local Melayu community in Tarai Bangun Village. The formulation of the problem in this study are the factors that cause the conflict in Tarai Bangun Village and how the conflict occurred in Tarai Bangun Village and what efforts have been made to resolve the conflict in Tarai Bangun Village. The population in this study were the heads of families of Melayu and Minangkabau communities totaling 1,560 households. The number of Melayu tribes is 301 families and the number of Minangkabau tribes is 1,259 families and the sample in this study is 156 families, out of 156 families the authors took 78 Melayu and 78 Minangkabau tribes. Data collection techniques are observation, questionnaire, interview and documentation. Data analysis using quantitative descriptive. The most dominant research results show that the factors that cause conflict in Tarai bangun village are the attitude shown to feel "the best" of the culture, custom istidat, loss of direction and new order of behavior, in the aftermath of the conflict that occurred in Tarai bangun village, resulting in the initial change was quiet to be proactive, because the consequences of the conflict eroded or the destruction of values and norms resulted in the patient being irritable and causing the patient to be aggressive. In an effort to resolve the conflict in Tarai Bangun Village, in the form of face-to-face meetings, negotiations reached agreement, Third party appointed or accepted voluntarily.Keywords: Social Conflict, Melayu Community, Minangkabau Community

Abstract

Abstract : This study aims to uncover the communities perception of the tradition of sinamot in the marriage customs of the Batak Toba, as well as to advance the Kabupaten Rokan Hulu. The number of people in this study are all the leaders of the Batak Toba in the village, as to advance the Kecamatan Rambah. The population of this study was 286 heads of households and the sample in this study was 28 families. Data collection techniques are questionnaires, interviews, observations and documentation. Data analysis with qualitative description. The results showed that data on public perception of the tradition of marriageable sinamot revealed that 48% of respondents strongly agreed (SS), 23% agreed (S), 16% less agreement (KS), 12% disagreed (TS). Based on the benchmarks in the number who answered "Strongly Agree + Agree", this represents 71% in the range of 50.01% to 75% or "good". So that public perception of the tradition of sinamot in the marriage customs of the Batak Toba in the village, as for advancing in the Desa Suka Maju Kecamatan Rambah Kabupaten Rokan Hulu, has a good perception.Key Words: Perception, Community, Marriage, Sinamot

Abstract

Abstract : This research is based on the low learning result of PPKn students in SMA Negeri 2 Pangkalan Kuras Kabupaten Pelalawan. The formulation of the problem in this research is: "Is there any influence of peer lessons learning model on the learning outcomes of PPKn IPA class X students in SMA Negeri 2 Pangkalan Kuras Kabupaten Pelalawan?" This research aims to know the effect of peer lessons learning model on learning outcomes of PPKn class X IPA in SMA Negeri 2 Pangkalan Kuras ". This research was conducted in SMA Negeri 2 Pangkalan Kuras in April 2018. This research is a quantitative descriptive study that became the population in this study is the students of class X IPA SMA Negeri 2 Pangkalan Kuras. Samples in this study is taken based on the technique of "Random Sampling". Where the class taken into the sample is the students of class X IPAa (experimental class) which is given the model of Peer Lessons Learning and class X IPAb (control class) are students who are given the conventional method. Then data analysis by using homogeneity test and test "t". Based on the result of research indicate that there is influence of learning result between student using Peer Lessons model and conventional method in SMA Negeri 2 Pangkalan Kuras (t = (count = 66,11)> t_ (table = 2.01)). Where there is an average increase of learning outcomes of experimental class PPKn from 66, 07 to 78.92 and the average increase in learning outcomes of control class PPKn from 58.06 to 65. Thus the hypothesis that there is influence of Peer lessons learning model on the results learning PPKn IPA class X students in SMA Negeri 2 Pangkalan Kuras, can be accepted.Keywords : Peer Lessons, Learning Outcomes.

Abstract

This research aims to describe and analyze “The Readiness of Children in the age 5-6 Years of Entering Primary School” from some aspects which includes (1) readiness of morality aspects and religious values, (2) readiness of physical aspects of motor, (3) readiness of cognitive aspects, (4) readiness of language aspects, (5) readiness of social-emotional in PAUD Cerdas Based on the Natural Environment. The type of this research is qualitative research. The data were collected using observation, interview, and documentation study. Data credibility is checking by source triangulation techniques and methods. The analysis was done by using type of interactive in data analysis according to Miles and Huberman. The result of this research shows that the readiness of morality aspects and religious values, the readiness of physical aspects of motor, the readiness of cognitive aspects, the readiness of language aspects, and the readiness of social – emotional in PAUD Cerdas has been ready as expected so it makes possible to the children to continue the education in elementary school and implict in annual plan activities which has been programmed into the school curriculum. According to the research, the advice for the parrents is recognize the standard of achievement of all aspects of the children in the age 5-6 years, so it is same with all that used by teacher at school. The advice for school is design a special curriculum which related with the base of the school that has been running.

Abstract

Kajian antropologi sangat memperhatikan aspek sejarah dan penjelasan menyeluruh untuk menggambarkan manusia melalui pengetahuan ilmu sosial ilmu hayati (alam), dan juga humaniora. (Birx, James. H. 2011). Antropologi Orang Laut dalam tulisan ini memberi gambaran tentang Orang Laut Indragiri Hilir berdasarkan 7 Unsur Kebudayaan dalam Antropologi, yaitu : Bahasa, Sistem Pengetahuan, Sistem Kemasyarakatan atau Organisasi Sosial, Sistem Peralatan Hidup atau Teknologi, Sistem Mata Pencaharian, Sistem Religi dan Kesenian. Tulisan ini dibuat agar pembaca memahami Orang Laut secara holistik terutama di Indragiri Hilir. 7 Unsur Kebudayaan yang dikemukakan oleh Koentjaraningrat menjadi pedoman penulis dalam mengklasifikasikan Orang Laut di Indgragiri Hilir, Orang Laut dalam konteks ini adalah Desin Dolak jika diterjemahkan (Desin = Orang, Dolak = Laut). Dahulu pernah digunakan Isilah Duanu tetapi saat ini penggunaan telah kembali kepada istilah Desin Dolak/ Orang Laut sebenarnya agar melekat semua akar sejarah yang pernah terlepas. Hasil kajian ini menemukan kesimpulan terbaru yang menyatakan (1). Desin Dolak/ Orang Laut Indragiri Hilir memiliki Bahasa Asli yang dipakai sendiri oleh kelompok masyarakat Orang Laut di Indragiri Hilir, namun terdapat beberapa kalimat serapan yang dipakai dari kalimat arab dan inggris, beberapa kalimat itu memiliki arti yang sama, namun beberapa kalimat memiliki penyebutan sama, namun telah berubah makna. (2). Sistem pengetahuan Orang Laut terkait dengan menjaga lingkungan sekitarnya yang akhirnya menjadi kearifan lokal bagi penyelamatan lingkungan sekitarnya. (3). Sistem Kemasyarakatan Orang Laut pada masa lalu juga terikat dengan sistem Kesultanan pada masa lampau yang  menjabat sebagai Panglima dan Laksemana, Orang Laut kehilangan struktur masyarakat/ Organisasi Kemasyarakatan, memasuki Orde Lama hingga Orde Baru, pada 2014 Muncul LABBOLI (Lembaga Adat Bahasa dan Budaya Orang Laut Indonesia) yang merupakan embrio lahirnya LABOLI (Lembaga Adat Bangsa Orang Laut International), mengaplikasikan dengan pembaharuan struktur baru kemasyarakat atau Oranisasi Sosial Orang Laut. (4). Sistem Peralatan Hidup dan Teknologi Orang Laut tradisional terbuat dari alam secara langsung terutama pengolahan kayu-kayu baik untuk dijadikan sampan ataupun pengayuh, untuk alat produksi Orang Laut merupakan kelompok masyarakat penyedia bahan mentah bukan pada tatanan produksi, dalam mendapatkan bahan mentah ini Orang Laut menggunakan papan tongkah, jaring, rawai, belat, dll. (5). Pada masa lalu Orang Laut menjalankan kehidupan ekonominya melalui sistem barter melalui pola penukaran hasil laut dengan bahan yang tidak dimiliki Orang Laut masa itu, Sistem Mata Pencaharian Orang Laut tentu terkait dengan kehidupan bahari dan kebutuhan pokok lingkungan sekitar tinggalnya (6). Awal mula keberadaanya sebelum memeluk Islam Suku Laut atau Orang Laut adalah kelompok masyarakat yang menganut kepercayaan Animisme dan Dinamisme, yang saat ini dapat terlihat pada ritual pengobatan, nyanyian (denden) dan aplikasi hidup lainnya yang terlihat pada kehidupan beberapa masyarakat Suku Laut itu sendiri. Namun persebatian dengan melayu saat ini membuat  mayoritas masyarakat Suku Laut Indragiri Hilir beragama Islam dalam pesentase 99,9 %. (7). Kesenian Suku Laut atau Orang Laut terbagi dalam beberapa hasil karya, diantaranya Seni Suara, Terdiri dari ; Bedenden, Jampi dan Panten. Seni Rupa, yaitu ; Motif Batik Orang Laut Asli, Seni Tari, yaitu ; Joged Betungkan, Seni Sastra Lisan ; Cerita Rakyat Dol, Hikayat Seri Bijawangsa.

Abstract

Supervision of school supervisor is one of the instruments in improving the quality of education at schools. An effective school has strong cultures with particular characteristics. An effective school also needs a leader who is expert in implementing school based management. This research was aimed to find out the amount of contribution of school supervisor’s supervision and school quality culture towards elementary school principals’ managerial competence in Kendal regency. This research used quantitative approach. The population of this research is all elementary school principals in Kendal regency. The sample was 50 elementary school principals randomly selected from 5 districts in Kendal regency, namely Brangsong district, Weleri district, Pageruyung district, Kaliwungu district and Kendal Kota district. Data collection was conducted by using Likert scale questionnaire. Data analysis was carried out by using multiple linear regression analysis. The result shows that there is a significant influence of school supervisor’s supervision on principals’ managerial competence. This scale shows the strong influence between the two variables. These include the rectification and improvement of teaching learning process, construction and development of curriculum, and schools’ teachers and staffs human resource development. The responses of the principal on the points reflected the process of supervision conducted by school supervisor on the leadership and the condition of school in which he is in charge. The second result shows that there is a significant influence of school quality culture on principals’ managerial competence. This scale shows the strong influence between the two variables. Things which are related to school quality culture includes principal’s roles, work’s situation and the giving of feedback. The response of the principal reflected the condition of quality culture in the school he leads. Then, the other result of the research shows that school supervisor’s supervision and school quality culture together have significant influence on principals’ managerial competence. The variable of principals’ managerial competence can be explained by the variable of school supervisor’s supervision and school quality culture. It means the increase or decrease of the principal’s managerial competence score can be predicted by the two independent variables.  Suggestions which can be given based on the result of this research are that school supervisors should maintain the supervision process on their supervised schools, the principals who have already had good managerial competence should maintain it by supporting the supervision of school supervisors and keeping the good school quality cultures. Meanwhile, the principals who have not had the good managerial competence should start to respond supervision of school supervisors seriously, do some rectifications at school, and create conducive school quality culture. Also, school teachers and staff should always support the supervision process and the good condition  of school quality culture so that effective school can be achieved.

Abstract

Vocational High School (SMK) as part of formal schools organized to prepare workforces that will compete and can fulfill job market demand. To achieve these goals it is necessary to innovate in learning process in order to create quality output. The purpose of this study is to identify and analyze: The type of learning innovation, the planning, the implementation, the evaluation, the constraints and solutions of learning innovation as an effort to achieve the quality of graduate in SMK Negeri 1 Kuningan. The method used in this research was descriptive qualitative. The data acquisition was done by in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document study. The research result showed as follows: 1) The types of learning innovation arein the form of student-cantered learning, learning factory, learning using internet media, discovery and inquiry, problem based learning. 2) The planning of learning innovation includes making lesson plan, annual programs, semester programs, MGMP.3) The implementation of learning innovation includes initial activities, core activities, closing activities, 4) The evaluation of learning innovation includes process and result evaluation, 5) The constraints and solutions in innovating learning is some teachers have not fully master curriculum 2013, he solution that is carried out is by involving teachers in various trainings. Vocational High School (SMK) as part of formal school organized to prepare labor that will compete and can fulfill job market demand. To achieve these goals it is necessary to innovate in learning process in order to create quality output. The purpose of this study is to identify and analyze: The type of innovation learning, the planning, the implementation, the evaluation, the constraints and solutions of learning innovation as an effort to achieve the quality of graduate in SMK Negeri 1 Kuningan. The research result showed as follows: 1) The type of learning innovation among learning factory, student centered, Using peer tutors, cooperative learning, story telling, Discovery and inquiry learning, problem based learning. 2) The planning of learning innovation is at the beginning of the academic year by conducting various trainings such as, MGMP, In house Training, preparing learning tools, lesson plan, annual program, semester program. 3) The implementation of learning innovation by refer to the lesson plan that correspond to curriculum 2013. 4) Evaluation / assessment of learning process includes three aspects, there are: aspects of knowledge, skills and attitudes. 5) The constraints and solutions in innovating learning among some teachers who have not to understand how to implement the learning process by using curriculum 2013. The solution that has been done by the school is to follow the teachers in various training.

Abstract

Minyak biji kapuk sebagai minyak non pangan merupakan bahan baku potensial untuk sintesisbiodiesel. Metode alternatif sintesis biodiesel dari minyak biji kapuk telah diterapkan pada penelitianini. Minyak biji kapuk diozonasi sebelum mengalami tahap esterifikasi, selanjutnya dilakukan tahaptrans-esterifikasi dengan katalis KOH. Kedua tahap sintesis biodiesel tersebut diselenggarakandengan bantuan gelombang ultrasonik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mempelajari pengaruh lamareaksi trans-esterifikasi dengan katalis KOH dibantuan gelombang ultrasonik pada sintesis biodieseldari minyak biji kapuk terozonasi. Lama reaksi trans-esterifikasi dipelajari pada variasi waktu 30, 60,dan 90 menit dengan bantuan gelombang ultrasonik pada frekuensi 35 kHz. Hasil penelitianmenunjukkan bahwa reaksi trans-esterifikasi selama 60 menit memberikan biodiesel dengan kualitasterbaik, yaitu bilangan asam 0,75mg KOH/g, bilangan iod 80,56mg I2/g, densitas 877kg/m3, viskositas4,7mm2/s, angka cetana 68,7, dan titik nyala 135oC, pada kondisi tersebut diperoleh biodiesel denganrendemen 86,75%. Abstract

Each student has his learning style in understanding, comprehending, until practicing his already owned knowledge. Specifically, in learning the English language, all students must have the potential motivation or dominant ability affected by surroundings, habits, and also science and technology. Learning English lesson for the eleventh grader of SMAN 1 Sumber still tended to use the conventional method without supporting the result of students’ speaking ability. This research has purposed to (1) analyze the effectiveness of PBL model through picture series media to improve students’ speaking ability seen from students learning style, (2) analyze the effectiveness of learning styles to improve students’ speaking ability, and (3) analyze the interaction between learning style of the students with PBL model to improve students’ speaking ability. It was a semi-experimental model by using treatment by level 2x2 factorial design. The population was XI grader of Senior High School 1 Sumber. The samples were two randomly chosen classes: XI MIA 4 and XI MIA 7. The data of the research were analyzed by SPSS 17.0 and Two Ways ANOVA. The findings showed improvement of English speaking ability seen from student learning styles and the learning styles were effective to improve the English speaking ability of the student. There was an interaction between learning style with the PBL model in improving the English speaking ability of the students. Seen from the elaboration above, it could be explained that the intervention could improve the English speaking ability of the student. The findings would help students and teacher to recognize student learning styles and the teachers could select appropriate media and learning method to improve student learning achievements.
