Abstract

This study aims to analyze the motivation of Palopo City residents to participate in sports activities. Regular physical activity plays a vital role in maintaining physical and mental health, yet levels of sports participation in various regions, including Palopo City, vary. This study employed a quantitative approach with a survey method distributed to 100 respondents from various age groups, genders, and occupations. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics to identify factors influencing exercise motivation, such as intrinsic motivation (health, fitness, enjoyment) and extrinsic motivation (physical appearance, social pressure, facilities). The results showed that the majority of residents were motivated by health and fitness factors, while facilities and the social environment also had significant influences. These findings are expected to serve as a basis for local governments and relevant agencies in designing more targeted and sustainable sports programs.

Abstract

This research was conducted due to the fact that many futsal players at SMAN 4 Luwu still have inconsistent shooting accuracy. Therefore, this study focuses on target training aimed at improving the shooting accuracy of the futsal players at SMAN 4 Luwu. The researcher employed a quasi-experimental method. Data collection was carried out by administering pre-tests and post-tests. The population in this study consisted of 40 individuals, with a sample size of 20. The sample was selected using cluster random sampling and then divided into two groups: ten individuals trained using small goals, and ten using used tires. The research results show that the t-count value in experimental group 1 (used tires) is 0.035 and in experimental group 2 (small goals) is 0.017, both of which are higher than the 5% significance level (0.05), (0.035 > 0.05) & (0.017 > 0.05). Therefore, the accuracy of futsal goal shots by SMAN 4 Luwu players is influenced by training using small target goals and used tires. The mean score of experimental group 1 with small goals is higher than that of experimental group 2 with used tires (14.80 > 14.50). It can be concluded that for SMAN 4 Luwu futsal players, training with small goals is more effective than with used tires.

Abstract

This study examines the integration of economic approaches and inclusive communication in addressing child labor issues in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province, Indonesia. Based on data from the August 2024 National Labor Force Survey (Sakernas), NTB has one of the highest child labor rates in Indonesia, with 19.15% of children aged 10-17 years engaged in economic activities. This research analyzes the socioeconomic factors driving child labor and evaluates the effectiveness of current policy interventions through an interdisciplinary framework combining economic analysis and inclusive communication strategies. The study employs a mixed-method approach, utilizing secondary data from Sakernas 2024 and document analysis of relevant policies. Results reveal that poverty, low parental education, rural residence, and cultural norms significantly contribute to child labor prevalence. The agricultural sector employs 45.36% of working children, predominantly as unpaid family workers (85.09%). Most working children (86.66%) continue schooling, indicating potential for intervention. The study proposes an integrated policy framework encompassing economic incentives including conditional cash transfers and social protection expansion, inclusive communication strategies engaging multiple stakeholders through culturally sensitive messaging, strengthened education access and quality, and enhanced labor inspection and enforcement mechanisms. This integrated approach addresses both structural economic constraints and socio-cultural dimensions, offering a comprehensive strategy for child labor elimination aligned with SDG targets. The findings provide actionable recommendations for policymakers to develop evidence-based interventions that protect children's rights while supporting family economic security.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the level of teacher discipline, the leadership strategies of the madrasah principal, as well as the supporting and inhibiting factors in improving teacher discipline at MTs Madinah Al-Munawwarah Tomoni, East Luwu Regency. This research employed a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The research subjects consisted of the madrasah principal and teachers of MTs Madinah Al-Munawwarah, totaling eight informants. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, while data analysis was carried out using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured through source, technique, and time triangulation. The results of the study indicate that teacher discipline at MTs Madinah Al-Munawwarah is generally in a fairly good category, as reflected in attendance, punctuality, teaching preparedness, and compliance with madrasah regulations, although a small number of teachers are still inconsistent. The leadership strategies implemented by the madrasah principal to improve teacher discipline include routine coaching, habituation of punctuality, exemplary leadership, persuasive communication, strengthening regulations and monitoring, and providing appreciation for disciplined teachers. Supporting factors in improving teacher discipline include teachers’ awareness of professional responsibility, the exemplary attitude of the madrasah principal, and the provision of honoraria or incentives. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors include teachers having other jobs outside the madrasah, a lack of discipline awareness among some teachers, the absence of firm written regulations, and the non-optimal implementation of reward and punishment systems.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study aims to critically reconstruct Aswaja Sufism as a normative-ethical response to three contemporary challenges radicalism, materialism, and secularism within modern society. Methodology: This study employed a qualitative normative-philosophical approach using library research, contextual hermeneutic interpretation, thematic coding, and comparative synthesis. Primary sources included classical Sufi texts, particularly works of Al-Ghazali and Al-Qushayri, supported by contemporary social theory literature. Data were analyzed through conceptual reconstruction without statistical software. (56 words) Main Findings: The study finds that tawassuth functions as ethical reflexivity against absolutism, zuhd operates as moral regulation within consumer capitalism, and ihsan strengthens inward accountability in plural public life. These principles collectively serve as complementary normative resources that reinforce moral integrity without replacing structural political or economic reforms in modern society. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study advances existing scholarship by systematically reconstructing Aswaja Sufism beyond devotional-historical analysis into a normative-critical framework integrated with modern social theory. It introduces an ethical reconstruction matrix translating classical Sufi principles into contemporary educational, civic, and institutional applications, thereby bridging spiritual moral psychology with structural modern challenges.
