Abstract

Purpose – This study analyzes the phenomenon of sugar daddies among Muslim youth in the digital age and its implications for the construction and practice of Islamic family law. This study focuses on the increasing tension between transactional intimate relationships, as a consequence of economic inequality and digital platform mediation, and the fundamental principles of marriage in Islam, namely sakinah, mawaddah, and raḥmah, which form the normative basis for family formation in Islam. Method – Qualitative methods were used in this study. Primary data were collected through semi-structured interviews with 15 informants (eight sugar babies, four sugar daddies, and three Islamic law experts) in Indonesia’s Greater Jakarta area. The analysis used the theoretical framework of Islamic law, namely maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah (the objectives of Islamic law) and sadd al-dharī‘ah (prevention of harm). Findings – Thematic analysis shows that sugar dating is triggered by economic pressures (80%) and facilitated by the existence of digital platforms (70%). Analytically, this relationship represents a form of commodification of intimacy that has characteristics similar to practices prohibited in Islam (adultery and contract marriage) because it threatens the institution of marriage itself. The findings also revealed significant religious identity conflicts (feelings of guilt), reinforced power and gender inequalities, and increased health risks for women. These findings confirm that transactional intimate relationships tend to reproduce structural exploitation, with long-term implications for the erosion of fundamental Islamic family values. Research limitations – The small sample size and urban focus limit generalizability, although depth was prioritized for this sensitive topic. Originality/value – This study integrates sociological, digital technology, and Islamic fiqh perspectives by formulating several practical recommendations, including strengthening Sharia-based digital literacy and economic empowerment for youth.

Abstract

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) mandated by the United Nations demand a global commitment, including from the corporate sector, to achieve social, economic, and environmental targets by 2030. Human Resource Management (HRM) plays a crucial role as the main agent of change in integrating sustainability principles into organizational operations. This research aims to analyze the strategic role of HRM functions ranging from recruitment, training and development, to performance management and compensation in supporting the achievement of the SDGs, particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth). The strategies discussed include the implementation of green skills training programs, equal pay policies, and performance measurement based on social impact. The research findings conclude that the transformation of HRM towards sustainability-focused practices not only enhances corporate image and employee engagement but also directly contributes to the achievement of global sustainable development goals.

Abstract

Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem that remains a challenge in Kendari City. One prevention strategy is through a local food-based Supplementary Feeding (PMT) program supported by Posyandu (Integrated Service Post) cadres. This community service program aims to improve the cadres' capacity in processing, serving, providing nutrition education, and assisting families of toddlers. Implementation methods included training, hands-on practice, and on-the-job mentoring for 30 Posyandu cadres in the Mata Community Health Center (Puskesmas Mata) work area. Evaluation was conducted through pre- and post-tests, as well as skills observations. Pre-and post-test data were analyzed quantitatively to illustrate improvements in participants' knowledge scores, while observation and interview results were analyzed qualitatively to determine changes in cadres' behavior and practical skills. Data are presented in tables and narratives explaining the achievements in improving the Posyandu cadres' capacity. Results show an increase in the average cadre's knowledge from 62.4 to 88.6, as well as significant improvements in skills in local food processing and nutrition education. This activity effectively strengthens the role of Posyandu cadres in implementing local PMT, in accordance with the 2023 Ministry of Health Technical Guidelines, to accelerate stunting reduction.

Abstract

This manufacturing company operates in the automotive industry with a Make to Order (MTO) production system, producing motorcycle engine components. Observations revealed production inefficiencies due to waste in the form of waiting time and excessive motion, leading to increased operational time and costs. This study aims to identify sources of waste, analyze root causes, and propose improvements using the Green Lean Manufacturing approach, which emphasizes both production efficiency and environmental considerations. The methods applied include Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Fishbone Diagram, 5 Why’s analysis, and system dynamics simulation. Based on the Current VSM analysis, the lead time was 268.21 minutes with a Process Cycle Efficiency (PCE) of 77.32%. Proposed improvements include relocating materials closer to machines, preparing tools before production, and adding workplace facilities. The Future VSM showed a lead time reduction of 17.92 minutes and a PCE increase of 1.17%. From the three simulated scenarios, ANOVA test results indicated that Scenario 3 was the most effective in reducing motion waste, while Scenario 2 best reduced waiting time. Both scenarios demonstrated the effectiveness of continuous lean implementation over a five-year period.

Abstract

The Teacher Professional Program is a strategic initiative that is highly relevant to President Prabowo's eight goals of strengthening human resource development, science, technology, and education. Ideally, PPG can shape students who are conscious, able to interpret learning contextually, and able to inspire all students through thinking, feeling, tasting, and exercising so that graduates become professional teachers. However, students are still trapped in conventional learning that focuses on fulfilling formal formats, so the essence of meaningful learning has not been optimized. The ASOKA approach is a new approach as a solution to solve PPG student learning problems, including to improve PPG students' competence in designing meaningful learning. Therefore, the objectives of this study are to: (1) Analyze PPG students' perceptions of deep learning through the ASOKA approach. (2) Analyze the effectiveness of the ASOKA approach in helping PPG students design meaningful learning. An exploratory quantitative research approach was chosen with a research period from April 2025 to December 2025, involving 100 students selected through purposive sampling. Data was collected from the distribution of test instruments and questionnaires. The collected data was then analyzed inferentially using Principal Component Analysis, which was operated using JASP software version 19.3.

Abstract

Background: Swimming instruction in higher education is still predominantly characterised by teacher-centred approaches, with limited empirical evidence examining the effectiveness of student-centred and integrated pedagogical models. In particular, little is known about the comparative impact of combining multiple learning approaches on swimming skill development across different swimming styles. Objectives: This study aimed to (i) examine the effects of an integrated learning (IL) model—combining problem-based learning (PBL), project-based learning (PjBL), digital learning media, and peer assessment—on students’ swimming learning outcomes across four swimming styles, and (ii) compare the effectiveness of the IL model with single PBL and PjBL approaches. Methods: A quasi-experimental pretest–posttest group design was employed involving 93 university students enrolled in a swimming course. Participants were assigned to three groups: IL, PBL, and PjBL. Data was analysed using paired-samples t-tests to examine within-group effects, two-way ANOVA to identify between-group differences, and Tukey HSD post hoc tests. Effect sizes and confidence intervals were also calculated. Finding/Results: The IL model produced significant improvements in swimming performance across butterfly, breaststroke, backstroke, and freestyle techniques, with large effect sizes observed in all styles. Comparative analyses revealed that the IL group achieved significantly higher learning outcomes than both the PBL and PjBL groups, while no significant difference was found between PBL and PjBL. Conclusion: The findings demonstrate that an integrated learning model that combines multiple student-centred pedagogical approaches, digital learning media, and peer assessment is more effective than single-method approaches in university-level swimming education. This model offers a promising pedagogical framework for enhancing swimming instruction and warrants further investigation across different educational levels and learning contexts.

Abstract

In a futsal game, agility is very important, especially in terms of controlling the ball under pressure from the opponent.  The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of zig-zag running training on dribbling agility in SMA Negeri 8 North Luwu futsal players.  A one-group pretest-posttest design was used as the research design in this experimental study.  Using non-probability sampling techniques, the population and sample of this study consisted of 24 people.  Three times per week was the training frequency for the zig-zag running program for six weeks. After receiving training, data analysis showed a considerable increase in dribbling agility, with a percentage increase of 21.53% which is classified as very good. Therefore, it can be said that zig-zag running training helps SMA Negeri 8 North Luwu futsal players become more proficient in dribbling.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of training using resistance bands and medicine balls on the smash ability of volleyball extracurricular students at SMA Frater Palopo. The research was conducted from May to June 2025 at SMA Frater, located in Palopo City, South Sulawesi Province. The research method used was an experimental method with a two-group pretest-posttest design. The sample consisted of 20 students divided into two groups: Group A used resistance band training and Group B used medicine ball training, with a total of 16 treatment sessions. The instrument used was a smash test with five target attempts. The data analysis results showed that both types of training had a significant effect on improving smash ability. Based on the paired sample t-test, a significant value (p < 0.05) was obtained in both groups. Furthermore, the results of the independent sample t-test showed no significant difference between Group A and Group B (p = 0.067). Therefore, it can be concluded that resistance band training and medicine ball training do not have a significant difference in improving the smash ability of volleyball extracurricular students.
