Abstract

Whereas residents can still exploit the potential of other natural resources wasted in the village. One of them is coffee skin waste. Through this activity, the team provided training and mentoring to the people of BenerMeriah Village to be able to utilize coffee skins into coffee skin briquettes as alternative fuels. Training activities and assistance in making coffee skin briquettes to the community are carried out through certain stages. Conduct counseling about empowering coffee skin waste into coffee skin briquettes, followed by making coffee skin briquettes together. From the results of the dedication, it was obtained that thecommunity was able to utilize coffee skin waste as an alternative fuel.

Abstract

Critical thinking is an ability that can create positive things, have broad insights, and can actualize meaningful knowledge. Through interesting and creative learning models, critical thinking can be created in fun learning. The implementation of this research activity is to develop students' critical thinking skills in elementary science learning. The research method uses Qualitative Research using classroom action research. the research sample of class IV students totaling 22 students. This research was conducted on June 21 - 26 2022 carried out online in three cycles. Cycle I was held on June 22, 2022, Cycle II on June 25, 2022, and Cycle III on June 26, 2022. The results showed that students' critical thinking skills were measured through tests made based on critical thinking indicators which increased in each cycle. In Cycle I it achieved an average score of 75.5. Cycle II achieved an average score of 78.3. And in Cycle III it achieved an average score of 82.5. Based on the results of this study it can be concluded that the Heuristic learning model can be used so that students have the ability to think critically in learning so that they can create situations that are more responsive and stimulate students to think.

Abstract

Muntingia calabura L. and Strobilanthes crispa are types of plants that contain flavonoids, saponins and tannins The Fusarium sp fungus infect plants, causing disease in plants. This-study aims to determine the-comparison of the effective fungistatic properties of Muntingia calabura L. and Strobilanthes crispa extracts against Fusarium sp in vitro. This research is experimental research, analyzed statistically using the anova-method, after being tested anova with significant results, it is continued with the Tukey-test, and paired-sample-tests . The adaptability of the Fusarium sp fungus in a-petri dish containing NA-medium which was then added with Muntingia calabura L and Strobilanthes crispa extracts with the same concentration, respectively 75%, 80%, 85%, 90%, 95% and the-addition of control(-) (aquadest) and control(+) (amoxilin) ​​which observed for 3-days. Based on the-results of research that have been made, the measurement of the inhibition zone in Muntingia calabura L. extract with 75% treatment was 1.6mm. And Strobilanthes crispa in the 80% treatment had an inhibition zone of 2.5mm. The 2-tailed sig value was 0.758, this means the sig-value is greater than-0.05 (p>0.05). So it-can be concluded that is no significant difference between the fungistatic activity of Muntingia calabura L extract and the fungistatic activity of Strobilanthes crispa extract.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of APE puzzle hopscotch on higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) in children aged 4-6 years at PAUD IT ADAR Kalasan DIY. Employing a quasi-experimental design, the research included an experimental group receiving the APE puzzle hopscotch intervention and a control group without any intervention. Over four months, pretest and posttest assessments were conducted to evaluate HOTS in both groups. The research instruments measured indicators across analysis (C4), evaluation (C5), and creation (C6). Results revealed significant enhancements in the experimental group’s HOTS, with N-Gain scores showing moderate effectiveness. Statistical tests confirmed the intervention's impact, demonstrating significant differences in post-test scores between the experimental and control groups (p < 0.05). The findings suggest that APE puzzle hopscotch effectively stimulates cognitive development in early childhood. Despite limitations such as a small sample size and short study duration, the study underscores the potential of interactive educational tools in enhancing critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Implications for educational practice include the integration of engaging tools into curricula to foster HOTS. Future research should address the current study's limitations, validate the findings across different settings, and explore the effects on other developmental areas. Additionally, longitudinal studies could provide deeper insights into the long-term benefits of such educational tools. This research contributes to the ongoing discourse on the importance of innovative teaching strategies in early childhood education, emphasizing the role of interactive play in cognitive growth.

Abstract

ADHD is a neurological developmental disorder that mostly affects children. Its characteristics in the form of inattention, disorganization and hyperactivity-impulsivity make it difficult for children to think and behave typically at home and at school. Researchers conducted a literature review on brain disorders in elementary school-aged children with ADHD to determine the level of damage and deviations that occurred. The method used was an integrative literature review using the PRISMA technique to extract 10 relevant articles from the Scopus and PubMed databases. The result is that the parts of the brain affected are the frontal, prefrontal, parietal, temporal, caudate, gyrus, cerebellum, and networks found in the brain such as the salience network, default mode network, and dorsal attention network. Elementary school age children (6 - 15 years) who have ADHD, regardless of sub-type, are prone to experiencing difficulties in sustained attention, response inhibition, memory and decision making. Parents and teachers are expected to help children's growth and development with disciplinary interventions such as understanding ADHD, collaboration with parties who frequently interact with children, consistent routines, a conducive environment, and positive reinforcement.

Abstract

Bakteri Escherichia coli merupakan salah satu bakteri penyebab penyakit infeksi, diantaranya yaitu dapat menyebabkan infeksi pada pencernaan atau disebut diare dengan angka keparahan yang bervariasi. Bakteri ini salah satu bakteri yang resisten terhadap anti biotik sehingga menjadi masalah tersendiri. Tanaman gedi memiliki kandungan seperti antioksidan, fenolik, flavonoid, steroid, alkaloid, efek antiinflamasi, efek antidiabetes, dan efek analgesik. Daun gedi juga memiliki banyak manfaat untuk kesehatan khususnya sebagai antiinfeksi, salah satu cara pengendalian terhadap bakteri Escherichia coli dapat menggunakan daun gedi sebagai tanaman yang memiliki kandungan kimia alami sebagai antibakteri sehingga di harapkan dapat menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri E. coli. Oleh karena itu masyarakat mulai beralih menggunakan bahan alternatif lain yaitu menggunakan tanaman obat herbal yang ada disekitar seperti daun gedi untuk meminimalisir dari penggunaan antibiotik dan untuk menghindari terjadinya resistensi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui aktivitas antibakteri ekstrak daun gedi (Abelmoschus manihot L) terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri Escherichia coli dengan menggunakan metode difusi sumuran. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian Experimental Laboratories menggunakan design QuasiExperimental Design. Dimana ekstrak daun gedi diperoleh dengan metode maserasi yang kemudian di variasikan kedalam lima perlakuan konsentrasi serta kontrol positif ciprofloxacin dan kontrol negatif aquades. Kemudian dilanjutkan dengan metode difusi sumuran (metode lubang) untuk menguji aktivitas antibakteri ekstrak daun gedi, hasil penelitian yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis secara statistic menggunakan uji One Way Anova. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak daun gedi mampu menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Escherichi coli dengan aktivitas lemah hingga sedang. Adapun kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah ekstrak daun gedi dengan konsentrasi 20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, dan 100% efektif dalam menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Escherichia coli.

Abstract

Bakteri Staphylococcus aureus merupakan salah satu bakteri yang resisten terhadap antibiotik apabila dikonsusmsi dalam jangka waktu panjang sehingga dapat menimbulkan masalah tersendiri. Oleh karena itu untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut, masyarakat mengambil alternatif lain yaitu dengan menggunakan bahan alami yang mudah dijangkau seperti daun sukun yang digunakan sebagai pengganti antibiotik untuk menghindari terjadinya resistensi dan timbulnya efek samping dari antibiotik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas ekstrak daun sukun terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus menggunakan pelarut etanol dengan metode difusi sumuran. penelitian ini adalah Experimental Laboratory, menggunakan desain True Eksperimental Design. Dimana ekstrak daun sukun diperoleh metode maserasi yang kemudian divariasikan kedalam lima perlakuan konsentrasi yaitu konsentrasi 100%, 80%, 60%, 40% dan 20 % serta kontrol positif amoksisilin dan kontrol negatif aquadest. Kemudian dilanjutkan dengan metode difusi sumuran dengan cara membuat lubang pada media uji untuk menguji aktivitas antibakteri ekstrak daun sukun. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis secara statistik menggunakan uji One Way Anova. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkkan bahwa ekstrak daun sukun mampu menghambat pertumbuhan bakeri Staphylococcus aureus dengan kategori lemah hingga sedang. Adapun kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah ekstrak daun sukun di semua variasi konsentrasi mampu menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus

Abstract

This study aims to look at the effect of bottom ash activation with NaOH on the morphological structure and content of the elements contained in bottom ash and see the effect of activation on the absorption of phosphate compounds in water by bottom ash. Bottom ash from PT SOCIMAS coal combustion has been activated with NaOH and has been used to adsorb phosphate. Phosphate used in the form of KH3PO4. Bottom ash was first characterized by SEM-EDS to see the morphological structure and the element content contained in the bottom ash. Bottom ash mass variations used are (1, 2, and 3 grams), and particle size (50-70 mesh, 70-110 mesh, and 110-140 mesh). The activation process lasts for 5 hours using 3 M NaOH, then washed to pH 7. The bottom ash is activated then characterized again with SEM-EDS to ensure the impurities present in the bottom ash are reduced. Furthermore, bottom ash is used to adsorb phosphate with time variations of 20, 40, and 60 minutes. The most effective adsorption capacity (6.39 mg / g) is at the 20th minute with a particle size of 110-140 mesh and a bottom ash mass of 1 gram. The Freundlich and Langmuir isotherm model is used to describe the phosphate ion adsorption isotherm by the bottom ash. Based on the data obtained, the isotherm model suitable for this research is the Freudlich (R2 = 0.9721) and Langmuir (R2 = 0.9505) isotherm model.

Abstract

Performance of natural zeolites can be improved through the process of activation and impregnation. Activation process using HCl and impregnation with Mg2+ have carried out in this study. The activation process was performed out for 30 minutes with a 0.5M HCl solution and impregnation of MgCl2.6H2O 2.5M for 2 hours. Natural zeolites which have been activated and impregnated are then analyzed by the Scanning Electron Microscope-Energy Dispersive Spectrophotometer (SEM-EDS). The results of zeolite surface profile characteristics activated and impregnated using SEM-EDS showed that there were changes in morphology and functional groups. Then, activated and impregnated zeolites were used to absorb ammonia at various contact times of 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 20 minutes, 25 minutes, 30 minutes, 35 minutes, 40 minutes and 45 minutes. The equilibrium point was obtained at 25 minutes contact time with adsorption capacity of 30.444 mg/g and absorption efficiency of 85.2352%. The dosage of adsorbent varied with 0.01% size; 0.03%; 0.05%; 0.07%; 0.09%; 0.11%, 0.13% m/v. The concentration of ammonia absorbed was performed out using an Uv-Vis Spectrophotometer. The best efficiency of ammonia absorption is 90.106% with particle size 110-120 mesh, adsorbent dose 0.09% and adsorbent impregnation treatment.

Abstract

Research on phosphate adsorption using natural zeolites which were activated and impregnated with HCl and Mg2 +had been carried out. This study examined the effect of natural zeolite particle size on phosphate ion adsorption. Stages of the study began from sifting zeolites in accordance with the specified size (50/70 mesh, 70/110 mesh and 110/120 mesh), washing, activation and impregnation. Natural zeolite with 110/120 mesh particle size is used to determine the contact time in absorbing phosphate ions. Natural zeolite can absorb phosphate as much as 8.53 mg / l or 85.3% with a contact time of 35 minutes. The variation of the adsorption on the natural zeolite particle size is carried out to get the effect of the natural zeolite particle size on the adsorption of phosphate ions. Phosphate ions which are absorbed by zeolites are analyzed using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer. The highest absorption efficiency (99.26%) was obtained for natural zeolite particle size 110/120 mesh. The natural zeolite adsorption isotherm model of the phosphate ion is tested with the Freundlich and Langmuir equations. Based on the data obtained, the isotherm model suitable for this study is Freundlich with a value of R2 = 0.985.
