Abstract

Gambir (Uncaria guianensis (Hunter) Roxb) is a shrub from the Rubiaceae family which has hard, twisting stems, short-stemmed leaves, light green in color, small white flowers with round cobs. Gambir is already known to have many medicinal benefits. Lots of compounds contained in gambier which are useful as antioxidants. In Indonesia it is used for betel nut besides the betel plant. Another benefit of the gambier plant is as a mixture of medicines for burns, headaches, diarrhea, dysentery, mouthwash, canker sores, and as a skin tanner to prevent decay which makes the skin look softer, more colorful and youthful. This study aims to isolate the types of endophytic fungi found on the bark of the gambier plant and to identify the types of endophytic fungi based on their macroscopic and microscopic characteristics. The research method used in this study was a sample of Gambir (U. guianensis) taken from Hamlet V, Tambang Rambang Village, Rambang Kuang Subdistrict, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra. The endophytic fungal isolation method used was gambier plant stem bark samples using PDA media. Bark taken from the main stem and branches, exfoliated less than a full circle. The results of this study succeeded in obtaining 5 isolates of endophytic fungi from the bark of gambir (U. guianensis) belonging to 4 different genera, including Trichoderma, Blastomyces, Fusarium, and Alternaria.

Abstract

The problem experienced by class 11 students at the Salalimul Fudhola Islamic Boarding School is that they still have difficulty placing nahwu and shorof when reading books. This research focuses on the Sorogan method used in the Islamic boarding school to overcome the students’ difficulties, especially in reading the book Fathul Qarib. The aim of this research is to determine the application of the Sorogan method, supporting and inhibiting factors, and its impact on the ability to read the book Fathul Qarib of grade 11 students. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods, and data is collected through observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques refer to Miles & Huberman, including data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The research results showed that the Sorogan method was applied with students taking turns facing the teacher, reading, translating and explaining the contents of the book Fathul Qarib. One of the supporting factors is the teacher’s strong desire to preserve the study of the yellow book, while the inhibiting factor is that some students do not study before sorogan. The Sorogan method has proven to be effective in improving students’ ability to read the book Fathul Qarib. It can be concluded that the Sorogan method plays an important role in the success of improving the ability to read books among students.

Abstract

The phenomenon of bullying is a serious problem that not only affects physical aspects but also emotional and social aspects that can have long-term impacts. Here, teachers have a fundamental role in preventing and handling bullying at school, namely as guides, mediators or facilitators, and advisors. This study aimed to determine teachers' role in handling the bullying behavior of class II students at MI Al Karomah Bringin Ngawi. The research uses a descriptive qualitative approach. The subjects in this study were teachers and students (perpetrators and victims). The results of the study showed that: 1) the form of bullying behavior occurs at MI Al Karomah Bringin Physical bullying, such as hitting, kicking, and damaging friend's belongings, and verbal bullying in the form of teasing. 2) Factors that cause bullying: the role of the family, where what children receive in the family environment will shape the child's personality; peer factors, the condition of MI Al Karomah Bringin Ngawi's peers who often bully each other, both verbally and non-verbally, which triggers environmental conditions to become increasingly bullying behavior; and social media factors, the mani negative shows watched by children, so that children gradually normalize bullying behavior. 3) The role of teachers in dealing with bullying behavior is as a student mentor; teachers direct students if there is negative student behavior related to this bullying. As mediators/facilitators, teachers can mediate when there is a dispute between students. Teachers are advisors and can provide positive advice to bullies and victims of bullying to achieve a better school atmosphere.

Abstract

  Explores the application of Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) in the school setting and its impact on student academic achievement and emotional well-being. The findings of this study provide in-depth insight into the benefits of implementing REBT in the school setting and provide a basis for developing more effective intervention approaches to improve student well-being and academic achievement. As a cognitive-based therapeutic method, REBT was implemented to identify and manage emotional and behavioral tendencies that might affect students academic achievement and emotional well-being. The research method involved applying REBT in an educational context and collecting data through surveys, interviews, and literary achievement analysis. The results of this study provide an in-depth look at the benefits of implementing REBT in a school setting and provide a basis for further development in understanding the relationship between emotional well-being, academic achievement, and psychological interventions in education. The practical implications of the findings can assist schools in designing programs that focus on student well-being and improving academic achievement through an integrated psychotherapeutic approach.

Abstract

This research comprehensively investigates the pedagogical effectiveness of integrating Augmented Reality (AR)-based digital visualization, facilitated by Assemblr EDU platform using Anchored Instruction (AI) learning model to improve students' critical thinking skills. The research method employed was a quasi-experimental research with a non-equivalent control group design, involving 60 seventh grade students (average age of 13-15 years old) from Global Islamic School Al Amin Junior High School Gondanglegi. The primary instrument for data collection was a valid and reliable critical thinking skills test (Cronbach's Alpha = 0.82), which was specifically designed to measure six crucial aspects of critical thinking. The experimental group adopted learning process that integrated an environmental pollution case study as an anchor by utilizing interactive AR model and visualization creation task using Assemblr EDU. In contrast, the control group was given a lesson using the same AI model but without the AR digital visualization component. The research findings portrayed a statistically significant difference (p < 0.05) in the improvement of critical thinking skills scores between the experimental group (mean gain score 19.7, SD = 3.1) and the control group (mean gain score 9.7, SD = 2.8). The Cohen's d effect size of 2.56 indicated a powerful impact of the intervention. This research provides important implications for science education practice, highlighting the transformative potential of visualization technology, particularly AR through easily accessible platforms such as Assemblr EDU, in enhancing student engagement, facilitating the understanding of complex concepts and empowering the development of their critical thinking skills in facing the increasingly complex environmental challenges

Abstract

TOEFL adalah salah satu tes yang banyak digunakan di negara-negara yang bukan penutur asli Bahasa Inggris untuk mengukur kemampuan berbahasa Inggris mereka. Sertifikat TOEFL sangat penting untuk beberapa keperluan seperti syarat pengajuan beasiswa, mendaftar kuliah baik di dalam maupun di luar negeri, melamar kerja, syarat kenaikan jabatan, dan lain-lain. Mengingat pentingnya sertifikat tersebut, maka pengetahuan tentang TOEFL dan skor yang tinggi pun sangat diperlukan. Meskipun demikian, mendapatkan skor yang tinggi tidaklah mudah bagi semua orang. Setidaknya itu yang diungkapkan santri Pondok Pesantren Darussalam dalam wawancara personal. Oleh karena itu, solusi yang ditawarkan adalah pemberian pelatihan TOEFL online melalui media YouTube mengingat keadaan sekarang ini dimana covid-19 telah mewabah di seluruh dunia dan semua warga dianjurkan untuk di rumah saja. Dari kegiatan pelatihan TOEFL yang dilaksanakan dari tanggal 10 September hingga 25 November 2020, diperoleh hasil bahwa terdapat peningkatan yang sigfikan dalam score TOEFL para santri sebelum dan seduah kegiatan. Kedepannya diharapkan hasil dari pengabdian ini bisa menambah wawasan santri tentang tips dan trick untuk menaklukan TOEFL sehingga dapat meraih skor yang tinggi yang pada akhirnya dapat membuka peluang yang lebih luas bagi mereka.

Abstract

Permasalahan  yang sering ditemui pada bisnis ritel adalah penumpukan barang digudang dikarenakan menurunnya jumlah pembelian. Oleh karena itu pelaku bisnis ritel harus dapat membuat strategi penjualan agar stok barang digudang dapat terjual. Untuk dapat mengatasi hal tersebut dibutuhkan strategi penjualan yang dapat diperoleh dari pengolahan data yang tersedia menjadi informasi yang bermanfaat. Data transaksi dapat diolah dengan menggunakan data mining dengan Algoritma Apriori. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah memperoleh informasi mengenai keterkaitan antar item produk yang dapat dijadikan informasi penunjang strategi penjualan. Selain itu, dari informasi yang diperoleh dapat berguna dalam keputusan strategi penjualan, misalnya tata letak dalam penempatan item produk, penawaran item produk kepada pembeli, dan pemaketan item produk. Algoritma Apriori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini dapat mengolah data transaksi menjadi informasi mengenai keterikatan antar item produk. Dengan uji lift ratio, penelitian ini menghasilkan 13 aturan asosiasi yang memiliki keterkaitan yang kuat.

Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze the ethnoscience elements in the Klaten Regency’s lurik fabric production process and to identify how these ethnoscience aspects can be used as a science learning resource in elementary schools. Methodology: This study used a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design and was conducted in Bendo and Beji villages in Pedan District, Klaten Regency. Data were collected through observation, open interviews, documentation, and a literature review related to Klaten’s lurik fabric, using technique and source triangulation to ensure data validity. The data analysis included data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Results: The results showed that the lurik fabric production process consists of six main stages that can be integrated into elementary science learning. For grade 3, relevant topics include forms of energy, energy sources, and changes in the form of objects; for grade 4, plant organs, energy changes, and types of forces; for grade 5, heat transfer, simple machines, and magnetism; and for grade 6, the motion system. Beyond content integration, the lurik fabric ethnoscience can also develop students’ process skills such as observing, planning and conducting investigations, processing and analyzing data, as well as evaluating and reflecting. Furthermore, it can cultivate scientific attitudes like curiosity, discovery and creativity, accuracy, resilience in facing failure, and collaboration. Applications/Originality/Value: The application of this research is to provide an authentic, local-culture-based learning resource that enriches science education with contextual, meaningful experiences connected to students’ cultural heritage.

Abstract

There are difficulties in accustoming students to hone their metacognitive abilities in learning human anatomy and physiology in the era of the 4.0 revolution due to the lack of availability of SETS-based multimedia assessments. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of SETS-based multimedia assessments on students' metacognitive abilities. The research method was a quasi-experimental with a nonequivalent control group design pretest-posttest. The research sample was 2 classes (the experimental class was called A and the control class was called B) with 17 students in the experimental class, and 24 students in the control class in the Biology Education Study Program of IKIP Budi Utomo, who were taking the human anatomy and physiology course. The research instrument was pretest and posttest questions on the SETS-based multimedia assessment as many as 15 multiple-choice questions containing indicators of metacognitive abilities. The research data were in the form of pretest and posttest scores from the experimental class and the control class. The research data analysis technique used the Anacova test via SPSS for Windows. The results showed that SETS-based multimedia assessments affected students' metacognitive abilities (sig < 0.05). The study concludes that SETS-based multimedia assessment affects students' metacognitive abilities in human anatomy and physiology courses. The results of this study are recommended as assessment development materials to be integrated into the higher education curriculum as an effort to empower students' metacognitive abilities.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sistem monitoring dan asesmen formatif PAI dalam membentuk karakter religius siswa di SDN 91 Rejang Lebong Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan menggunakan jenis penelitian field research. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini adalah sistem monitoring dan asesmen formatif Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) dalam membentuk karakter religius siswa di SDN 91 Rejang Lebong telah dilaksanakan melalui pendekatan pembiasaan dan pengamatan langsung terhadap perilaku siswa di kelas, dengan mengacu pada modul ajar Kurikulum Merdeka.
