Abstract

This paper investigates the Islamic philosophical and theological concept of ridha as elucidated by the prominent scholar Ibn Qayyim Al-Jauziyah. Ridha, in Ibn Qayyim’s view, represents a state of inner tranquility and acceptance, essential for mitigating anxiety and dissatisfaction in individuals. Despite the material wealth prevalent in contemporary society, many still experience spiritual unrest due to a lack of ridha. This study posits that true belief in God necessitates a serene acceptance of divine provisions, embracing both adversities and blessings with contentment. The research employs a qualitative approach, utilizing library research and descriptive analysis of relevant literature to provide a comprehensive understanding of ridha. Content analysis techniques are applied to systematically evaluate and interpret the concept and its implications. Findings reveal that for Ibn Qayyim, ridha involves a profound acceptance of Allah’s will, characterized by the absence of discontent towards divine decrees and a balanced approach to both favorable and adverse circumstances. The study delineates three progressive stages of ridha: reconciling with one's situation, fostering harmonious relationships with others, and overcoming envy. This exploration underscores the enduring relevance of ridha in addressing modern existential challenges and spiritual fulfillment.

Abstract

Abstract This article aims to explore the existence of sufism and its contribution to resolving religious conflicts. As part of Islamic science, sufism is an esoteric dimension of Islamic teachings that discusses aspects of spirituality. In this context, sufism is used as an approach to achieve peace of mind for its followers. This article uses qualitative methods and literature studies.Datas are collected from various books and other scientific articles analyzed using exploratory, interpretive, and analytical methods. The research results show that the history of the development of sufism has always experienced dynamics and ups and downs. Differences in views always accompany its development between those who recognize and reject sufism as an Islamic science. The struggle between Sunni and Falsafi Sufism cannot be avoided. However, this is not a real problem because the main problem is not the material differences of Sunni and Falsafi Sufism, but rather the political, power, economic, and social intrigue accompanying it. Despite this arrangement, sufism continues to exist to this day and has given rise to the latest developments such as perennial sufism. Perennial sufism is an approach used in sufism to build harmony among humans. In this context, the perennial approach in sufism can be used to resolve religious conflicts. In other words, perennial sufism has contributed as an approach to reducing religious conflict in the modern era with the spirit of religion and the values of tolerance contained in it.

Abstract

The role of the Mukim institution, as a unique customary body under the Aceh special autonomy system, in managing customary forests has been a subject of debate. The limitations and challenges faced by Mukim in fulfilling its responsibilities, particularly in light of contemporary environmental and legal pressures, remain unclear. This study employs a doctrinal-empirical investigation, utilizing a literature review and interviews with respondents and informants. The empirical research was conducted in Mukim Lampanah, Seulimeum District, and Mukim Blang Mee, Lhoong District, both situated in Aceh Besar Regency. The findings indicate that the Mukim holds a position of authority in the governance of customary forests, playing a crucial role in the management and oversight of natural resources within their designated territories. They possess the authority to designate customary forests. However, their capacity to meet these responsibilities is hampered by a lack of personnel within the Mukim institution and limited engagement from local administrations, particularly in terms of policy support and collaborative forest management efforts. Additionally, their efforts often conflict with national forestry management policies. To enhance the effectiveness and sustainability of forest management, it is essential to establish stronger collaboration and coordination mechanisms between the Mukim and government forestry agencies. This would facilitate better alignment of policies and improve overall forest governance.

Abstract

This research aims to describe and explore the thinking of Wahdat al-Adyan al-Hallaj. The method used in this research is descriptive-analytical. The primary data used in this research are the works of al-Hallaj. Meanwhile, secondary data in this research are books, journal articles and other websites that discuss al-Hallaj's thoughts. The research results show that there are efforts to deconstruct Islamic Sufism al-Hallaj by pluralist circles. The accusation of al-Hallaj as the father of pluralism in Islam cannot be proven. This is due to misunderstanding and needing to be more comprehensive in understanding al-Hallaj's expressions in his verses and aimed at the interests of Western liberalization with efforts to interpret the text and misappropriation of language from Transcendent Unity of Religion become Wahdat al-Adyan. So, concept Wahdat al-Adyan what is claimed to be the concept of religious pluralism in the Western or Orientalist version of Islam is a misunderstanding. In Islam there is no such thing as religious unity (transcendent unity), what exists instead is al-Hallaj's experience in understanding religious differences. However, understanding Wahdat al-Adyan which was introduced by al-Hallaj, in essence, the existing religions have the same aim, namely to obtain calm, peace and happiness in their spiritual dimension by serving their God according to their respective beliefs. Therefore, it is not permissible to judge and criticize other religions, and instead recommend that someone be obedient and consistent in their respective religions, as well as open, tolerant and pluralist religious awareness.

Abstract

The second flash flood in Ten Koto District, Tanah Datar Regency occurred in the same place in Lembah Anai Village. The large water discharge and high flow speed caused the river to overflow and worried the residents living around the river. This was due to the very high intensity of rain in the river catchment area of Lembah Anai Village which fell an hour earlier. This flash flood condition is a historic phenomenon because this is the second time. The first flash flood occurred in the Anai Valley. In 1892, the Anai Valley was also hit by a major flood. This research uses a quantitative descriptive method by making a comparative study of rivers in the Sepuluh Koto District area. The research results show that the river morphology in Lembah Anai Village has the highest catchment area of 400 meters above sea level (MDPL), which is the widest of the surrounding rivers and decreases in the downstream area of 20-meter MDPL. The highest order of average bandang potential scores is first, namely the Lembah Anai Village River, second to the Kayutanam Village River, and third to the Sicincin River. The disruption of transportation routes disrupted food supplies. Ingredients such as vegetables, potatoes and meat cannot be sent through the Anai Valley. As a result, all foodstuffs in the cities of Padang and Bukittinggi experienced price increases for months because reconstruction efforts were long and expensive.
