Abstract

This article will describe the politeness of the Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) in the translation of Surah Taha, verses 43–56 of the Qur'an. The approach used is descriptive qualitative, using Leech's theory of politeness. The research instrument used six maxims of politeness. Data were collected through a study of translated texts of the Qur'an. The results show that the politeness of the Prophet Moses' dialogue reflects a communication practice full of submission, gentleness, and wisdom. The six maxims of politeness appear in various forms of speech, such as humble requests, gentle commands, and greetings containing respect. These findings were then used as the basis for developing teaching materials for 11th-grade students that are deemed appropriate, applicable, and capable of shaping students' language character, particularly in delivering lectures. This study recommends that the values of politeness in the stories of the prophets can be used as a reference in the development of Indonesian language teaching materials, to support meaningful, contextual, and character-based learning. Keywords: teaching materials; language; politeness; Prophet Moses Abstrak Artikel ini akan mendeskripsikan kesantunan berbahasa Nabi Musa Alaihi Salam dalam terjemahan Al-Qur’an Surah Taha ayat 43–56. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan teori kesantunan dari Leech. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan enam prinsip maksim kesantunan. Data dikumpulkan melalui kajian teks terjemah Al-Qur’an.

Abstract

Character education is essential in shaping students’ morals amid the challenges of globalization, which often undermines moral values. Issues such as declining respect for authority, delinquency, and low empathy reflect a moral crisis among youth. This study aims to examine the urgency of character education from an Islamic perspective and to identify effective strategies for its implementation. Using a systematic literature review (SLR) method, 77 scientific articles published between 2019 and 2025 were analyzed. The study focuses on three dimensions: internalization of values in families, institutionalization in schools, and externalization in students' social behavior. Findings show that character education strongly influences moral development through value-based family upbringing, integrated school programs, and positive social interaction. However, challenges include limited parental engagement and inadequate teacher training. The study concludes that an integrated effort between family, school, and community is crucial to ensure sustainable and effective character education that aligns with both Islamic values and global moral frameworks.

Abstract

The current of education tends is to emphasize improving cognitive abilities aspects of students' their affective and psychomotor aspects. In addition, the activities carried out focus more on the outward aspect than the inner one, so it is feared that it can give birth to people who lack empathy and pay attention to social elements. Whereas educational activities should ideally be able to combine the two elements that exist in students, namely the heart and mind, as well as outwardly and inwardly. Therefore, character education is the core of the education of the Indonesian nation in order to form intelligent, skilled, faithful, pious, and noble human beings. Character building can be carried out through various strategies and approaches, one of which is through the internalization of values contained in the motto of Islamic boarding school education. The results of the study show that the development of Islamic character in SMP IT Al-Fawwaz students can be done through internalizing the values contained in the motto of the modern Islamic boarding school Daarul Huda Balokang Banjar, including: virtuous, healthy, knowledgeable and free-thinking. These activities are carried out routinely in intra-curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities which are guided directly by the teacher when the students are in school hours, as well as the ustadz when the students are in the dormitory. The results of this internalization are not only the formation of Islamic character of students, but also an increase in their learning achievement at school. Abstract

This study aims to reconstruct the epistemological foundation of curriculum design through the tawhidic worldview based on the thought of Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas. The study is grounded in the argument that the crisis of contemporary education is not merely pedagogical but fundamentally epistemological, reflected in the dominance of secular and fragmented paradigms that separate knowledge from ethical, spiritual, and metaphysical foundations. Using a qualitative approach through a literature review method, this study analyzes primary and secondary sources related to tawhidic worldview, Islamic epistemology, curriculum theory, and contemporary discourses on knowledge integration. The analysis is conducted through conceptual and epistemological reconstruction to identify the foundational structure of knowledge within the tawhidic framework and its implications for curriculum development. The findings reveal that the tawhidic worldview offers an integrated epistemological system grounded in the unity of reality (tawhid), the integration of revelation (naql), reason (‘aql), and spiritual intuition (dhawq), as well as the centrality of adab as the ultimate aim of education. Based on these findings, the study proposes a Tawhidic Curriculum Model consisting of interconnected ontological, epistemological, and axiological dimensions that collectively shape curriculum structure, pedagogy, assessment, and educational outcomes. The model emphasizes vertical, horizontal, and transcendental integration to overcome the dichotomy between religious and modern sciences while fostering holistic human development (insan kamil). This study contributes theoretically by extending al-Attas’s concept of ta’dib into a more systematic and operational framework for curriculum reconstruction and contributes practically by offering a conceptual direction for developing integrative, value-oriented, and transformative Islamic education in contemporary contexts.
