Abstract

The purpose of this activity is to analyze the influence of the sustainable cleanliness movement on students' level of environmental awareness. Environmental conservation activities through the sustainable cleanliness movement conducted by students are carried out on campus. The sustainable cleanliness movement activities carried out by students on campus reflect the application of the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) method, which focuses on strengthening local assets such as skills, motivation, and student networks. Direct participation in activities such as waste collection and environmental education has been shown to significantly increase student engagement and foster social responsibility towards the environment. The implementation of these activities has also succeeded in instilling important values such as environmental awareness and a spirit of cooperation. Given the positive impacts generated, it is highly recommended that similar activities be held regularly and periodically to raise awareness of the importance of environmental protection. The campus or student groups are encouraged to continue implementing the sustainable environmental cleanliness program for the ongoing benefits of all parties on campus.

Abstract

The campus park cleanup is a concrete effort to raise student awareness of the importance of cleanliness and the preservation of green open spaces. This program focuses not only on physical activities such as cleaning, land management, and planting, but also aims to foster pro-environmental behavior through direct student involvement. Using the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, this activity involves students in every stage, from planning, implementation, and evaluation, thus encouraging dialogue, cooperation, and a sense of shared responsibility. The implementation results show high student enthusiasm and participation, as evidenced by their dedication in cleaning the park area, removing weeds, cultivating the soil, and planting ornamental and edible plants. This activity concluded that environmental awareness was formed, solidarity was strengthened, and a sense of ownership of the campus environment grew. In addition to impacting the physical condition of the park, this activity also serves as an educational medium to instill environmental values from an early age. It is hoped that such activities can be carried out sustainably to create a clean and comfortable campus environment for the entire academic community.

Abstract

River clean-up activities represent a collaborative effort involving students and the community aimed at reducing environmental pollution, improving river ecosystem quality, and fostering sustainable ecological awareness. This program was implemented using the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach, which focuses on maximizing local potential such as active community participation, support from local government, and the availability of cleaning facilities and equipment. The implementation of the activity included preparation stages, manual cleaning along riverbanks, and the use of heavy equipment to remove large quantities of weeds and waste. The results indicate an improvement in river cleanliness and an increased level of community awareness regarding environmental conservation efforts. These findings are consistent with previous studies emphasizing the importance of community involvement in maintaining the sustainability of river ecosystems. Overall, this activity contributes to the formation of a healthier environmental culture, encourages sustained participation, strengthens stakeholder synergy, and is expected to become a routine community-based program with long-term impacts for communities living around river areas.

Abstract

Community participation in environmental cleanliness activities is an important factor in realizing a healthy, comfortable, and sustainable environment. However, the level of participation is greatly influenced by the quality of environmental education and community empowerment programs carried out by various parties, including the government, educational institutions, and social organizations. This service activity aims to analyze how environmental education and community empowerment can increase citizens' awareness, willingness, and direct involvement in environmental cleanliness activities. This activity uses a descriptive approach combined with the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, which involves the community directly in the process of identifying problems, planning, action, and reflection related to cleaning activities, as well as mapping the community's local assets and potential, such as the ability of residents, youth groups, village facilities, and the support of educational institutions, as the main driving force for cleaning activities. Education is provided through counseling, coaching, group discussions, and hands-on practice, while empowerment is carried out by providing space for the community to be involved in decision-making and implementation. The results of the analysis show that sustainable education is able to increase public understanding of the importance of environmental cleanliness, while empowerment through Participatory Action Research (PAR) fosters a sense of belonging, independence, and responsibility for the community. Both have been proven to have a significant influence on increasing community participation in environmental cleanliness activities.

Abstract

Optimizing community participation in cleaning activities is an important step to create a healthy, comfortable, and sustainable environment. This research aims to understand how communities engage in cleanliness activities, the factors that affect their level of involvement, as well as the strategies that can be applied to improve the effectiveness of community-based cleanliness programs. This study was conducted through literature studies from various journals and previous research that discussed community empowerment, environmental care behavior, and waste management. The results of the analysis showed that community participation was influenced by environmental awareness, local support and leadership, quality of communication between residents, availability of supporting facilities, and consistency of program implementation. In addition, collaboration between local governments, educational institutions, and local communities also strengthens the success of cleaning activities. These findings emphasize the importance of careful planning, clear division of roles, and the implementation of an asset-based community approach to Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) to encourage active engagement and sustainability of environmental programs.

Abstract

This study examines the alignment of personal-organisational values related to sustainability and its relationship with employee retention through a qualitative literature review. The main focus is the extent to which the alignment of sustainability values between employees and organisations is related to a decrease in turnover intention. The review results indicate that sustainability value alignment is formed through the convergence of individual value orientations with the way organisations formulate, communicate, and implement sustainability in their policies and daily practices. Employees with strong environmental and social values tend to experience positive identification, higher work meaning, and affective commitment when they perceive the organisation to be aligned with these values. In the realm of retention, the literature consistently shows that value-based P–O fit negatively correlates with turnover intention through increased job satisfaction, commitment, and perceptions of organisational support. Conversely, the gap between sustainability claims and actual practices triggers cynicism, decreased trust, and a desire to seek alternative work environments. These findings imply that sustainability management must be integrated with value-oriented HR policies. Theoretically, this study confirms the importance of explicitly incorporating the sustainability dimension into the P–O fit model.
