Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of discipline and motivation on employee work productivity at the Office of the Personnel, Education, and Training Agency (BKPP) of Polewali Mandar Regency, both partially and simultaneously. This research employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to all 43 employees of the BKPP Office of Polewali Mandar Regency. The analytical technique used was multiple linear regression to examine the relationship between the variables of discipline, motivation, and work productivity. The results of the study indicate that motivation has a significant effect on employee work productivity. Employees with high motivation tend to demonstrate greater enthusiasm, a strong sense of responsibility, and optimal performance achievement. Conversely, discipline does not show a significant effect when observed separately, but it still plays an important role when combined with motivation. The combination of discipline and motivation has been proven to enhance overall work productivity. Motivation significantly influences employee work productivity, whereas discipline does not have a partial effect. However, together, discipline and motivation contribute to improving employee work productivity at the BKPP Office of Polewali Mandar Regency.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the integration of Internet of Things (IoT)-based technological innovations and product branding strategies in strengthening the student entrepreneurship ecosystem at the Farming Club, University of West Sulawesi (Unsulbar). The research employs a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative and qualitative methods. The quantitative approach is used to measure the increase in productivity and income from harvests after implementing the IoT system, while the qualitative approach explores students’ perceptions and the impact of innovation implementation on entrepreneurial development. The results show that the implementation of an IoT-based automation system using an ESP32 microcontroller, ultrasonic sensors, and a digital monitoring application successfully increased watering efficiency by 40% and reduced water waste as well as labor requirements. Economically, the integration of IoT and product branding increased the income of the Unsulbar Farming Club by 57.4% per harvest cycle. The new packaging and logo design labeled “UFC Hydroponics Vegetables” with the slogan “Petani Milenial, Petani Keren” (Millennial Farmers, Cool Farmers) proved to enhance product appeal, strengthen brand image, and expand market reach. This study concludes that the combination of IoT technology implementation and product branding strategies plays a crucial role in strengthening the student entrepreneurship ecosystem. The integration not only contributes to higher productivity and income but also fosters innovative, creative, and competitive student character in the digital era

Abstract

Developing superior human resources through higher education is crucial for national progress. However, interest in pursuing higher education in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), particularly Central Lombok, remains a challenge that requires empirical study. This study aims to examine the impact of social support on interest in pursuing higher education, as well as the mediating role of self-efficacy in this relationship. This quantitative study, using a survey approach, involved 100 active university students in Central Lombok Regency as a sample, selected using a simple random sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using Structural Equation Modelling - Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS). The results showed that social support had a positive and significant effect on interest in pursuing higher education and self-efficacy. A key finding was that self-efficacy fully mediated the effect of social support on interest in pursuing higher education (R2 = 60.9%). Theoretically, this indicates that social support must first be internalized into self-efficacy to effectively increase interest. Policy implications highlight the importance of intervention programs that not only provide social support, but also strategically focus on strengthening individual self-efficacy to encourage higher education participation in the region.

Abstract

Community Service Partners (PKM) is a micro and small brick business. Knowledge of business projections among business owners in Batu Bata is still very limited. The aim of this service is to empower traditional business owners with the knowledge and skills to produce accurate business projections to assist in developing their business. The implementation method uses lecture, exercise, and discussion/question and answer methods. The participants were brick business owners from the Limbung village, Bajeng District, Gowa Regency. The technique for implementing this activity includes three stages starting from the preparation stage, implementation stage and activity evaluation stage. The results of the training show that traditional business owners experience difficulties in applying business forecasting techniques to their businesses because sales records are sometimes incomplete or non-existent. After carrying out the simulation, participants can understand the basis of sales forecasts for future sales forecasts. Additionally, brick-and-mortar business owners can know the exact estimates of their business. Knowledge of business forecasting is expected to improve business performance and competitiveness. The limitation of this training is that the implementation method does not use instructional techniques so that knowledge about business forecasting can be implemented in business activities.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of financial literacy, digital literacy, and business innovation on business performance in Makassar City, both directly and indirectly through entrepreneurial orientation. Micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Makassar City are a vital component of the regional economy, so understanding the factors influencing their performance is crucial to ensuring the sustainability and growth of this sector. In this study, financial literacy is defined as the understanding and ability of business actors to manage the financial aspects of their business, such as cash flow, investments, and financial planning. Digital literacy refers to the ability of business actors to utilize digital technology for operations, marketing, and interactions with customers and business partners. Meanwhile, business innovation refers to the creation and implementation of new ideas in products, processes, or business models that can improve business competitiveness and efficiency. This study used a quantitative approach with a survey method. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to business actors in Makassar City who had been operating for at least two years and used digital technology in their operations. A sample of 200 business actors operating in various sectors, such as retail, services, and manufacturing, participated in this study. The data analysis technique used was path analysis, which allows for the evaluation of direct and indirect relationships between variables, with entrepreneurial orientation acting as a mediating variable. The results of the study indicate that financial literacy, digital literacy, and business innovation have a positive effect on business performance. Specifically, business owners with high financial and digital literacy and the ability to innovate have better business performance, both in terms of revenue, profit, and competitiveness. Furthermore, entrepreneurial orientation has been shown to mediate the influence of financial literacy, digital literacy, and business innovation on business performance. This indicates that business owners with a high entrepreneurial orientation are more likely to utilize financial and digital literacy and innovate to improve their business performance. This study provides an important contribution to stakeholders, including business owners, the government, and academics, by emphasizing the importance of improving financial literacy, digital literacy, and business innovation to enhance business performance. Furthermore, this study also highlights the importance of entrepreneurial orientation as a factor that can mediate the relationship between these variables and business performance, which can serve as a basis for developing policies that support the strengthening of entrepreneurship in Makassar City.

Abstract

This study aims to determine: 1) Describe the implementation process of Edpuzzle interactive multimedia in economics learning at MAN 1 Majene Regency. 2) Identify the obstacles faced by teachers in implementing Edpuzzle in economics learning at MAN 1 Majene Regency. 3) Analyze the effect of using Edpuzzle interactive multimedia on student engagement in economics learning at MAN 1 Majene Regency. The research method used is a descriptive quantitative approach method. The research variables consist of Edpuzzle Media (Variable X) and Economics Learning (Variable Y). Data collection techniques use observation, questionnaires and documentation. The data analysis techniques used are descriptive statistics and inferential analysis. Based on the results of the study that: 1) The use of Edpuzzle interactive multimedia in economics learning at MAN 1 Majene Regency has proven to be effective. Students feel the benefits in understanding the material, while teachers find it easier to compile interactive materials. Features such as interactive questions and progress tracking help student engagement. In addition, Edpuzzle's flexibility in distance learning and blended learning improves understanding and learning independence. 2). Constraints in implementing Edpuzzle include limited internet access, inadequate devices, and students' understanding of the platform. Teachers also have difficulty in adjusting appropriate materials and limited features of the free version. In addition, the lack of direct interaction makes some students tend to be passive or less focused on completing assignments. 3) The influence of Edpuzzle as a learning medium on economic learning is in the moderate category with a correlation of 0.397. The significance test shows that R count (0.397) > R table (0.284) and the Sig. value. (2-tailed) = 0.005 <0.05, so that the relationship between the two is positive and significant. This means that the higher the use of Edpuzzle, the better the students' understanding of economic subjects at MAN 1 Majene Regency

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of consumer perception and brand image on Gen Z consumers' purchase decisions for Danone (AQUA) products after the peak of the boycott issue, focusing on Management students of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Makassar State University. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method using a Likert-scale questionnaire to measure consumer perceptions, brand image, and purchase decisions. The analysis techniques used included validity testing, reliability testing, classical assumption testing, multiple linear regression, and t-tests and F-tests to examine partial and simultaneous effects using SPSS version 25. The results of the study indicate that consumer perceptions of AQUA are in the “high” to “very high” category, so that students continue to sort information and tend to maintain a positive view despite the boycott issue. Brand image is also classified as “high”, indicating that the quality, symbolic value, and consumer experience with AQUA remain good. Purchasing decisions are also in the “high” to “very high” category, indicating that although the boycott issue influences considerations, product quality remains the main reason for choosing AQUA. Regression tests prove that consumer perceptions and brand image have a significant influence, both partially and simultaneously, on purchasing decisions.

Abstract

Market Day is an example of the application of entrepreneurship education through production, distribution, and consumption activities. Entrepreneurship education in higher education aims to make students independent and have an entrepreneurial spirit, with the hope that at least alumni will open their own businesses or partner with the industrial world and government. This type of research is quantitative research with statistical methods or alternative forms of measurement. The design applied in this study refers to a simple paradigm, namely a research framework that only involves one independent variable (Market Day) and one dependent variable (Entrepreneurial Interest). Market day activities carried out by students will be an indicator of whether they have an impact on entrepreneurial interest or not. Data collection techniques used questionnaires, documentation, and interviews. Data analysis techniques are descriptive and inferential. The results of the study show that the t-value of 6.465> t-table 0.2681, so ho is rejected and ha is accepted, meaning there is a positive and significant influence of market day activities on students' entrepreneurial interest, in addition to creating an entrepreneurial ecosystem by involving stakeholders who are able to support and encourage the formation of a good business world
