Abstract

This article delves into the crucial role of education in the formation of the Chinese elite in Surabaya from the 1880s to 1942. Education held immense significance within the Chinese community, serving not only as a vehicle for cultural preservation but also as a means of instilling a spirit of equality, positioning education as an integral component of the emancipation movement. The success of Chinese community education is evidenced by the emergence of a cadre of Chinese elites poised to effect transformative changes within their community. Consequently, this article seeks to explain the role of the elite in steering educational objectives to align with contemporary progress and the evolving needs of the Chinese generation. Employing historical methods, the research highlights that the educational pursuits of the Chinese community bore fruit in the form of diverse elite groups. The varied Chinese elite groups that surfaced from the late 19th century to 1942 significantly contributed to the unique narrative of Surabaya's history. Their contributions include catalyzing the Indonesian national spirit and addressing health and education challenges.

Abstract

Penelitian ini memfokuskan pada evaluasi penggunaan lampu LED sebagai pengganti lampu fluorescent (neon) di kapal Ro-Ro 1500 GT yang menghubungkan Kabupaten Kotawaringin Barat, Kalimantan Tengah, dan Kabupaten Kendal, Jawa Tengah. Tujuan utamanya adalah untuk menilai potensi pengurangan konsumsi daya generator melalui penggunaan lampu LED yang lebih hemat energi. Dengan menggunakan metode lumen, tingkat pencahayaan di dek penumpang dinilai secara detail. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya penurunan yang signifikan dalam konsumsi daya, dari 9,83 kW menjadi 2,45 kW ketika menggunakan lampu LED. Temuan ini menegaskan efisiensi dan efektivitas lampu LED dalam lingkungan maritim serta mendorong keberlanjutan industri kapal laut. Dengan memberikan kontribusi pada upaya meningkatkan efisiensi energi dan keberlanjutan, studi ini menjadi penting dalam konteks praktik operasional kapal laut yang ramah lingkungan. Diharapkan hasil penelitian ini dapat menjadi dasar bagi pengembangan lebih lanjut dalam penerapan teknologi energi yang lebih efisien dalam industri maritim.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui struktur wacana dan pewacanaan pada program Indonesia Lawyers Club TVOne Episode “Perlukah Ibukota Dipindahkan?”. Hasilnya,  pewacanaan tidak hanya tampak pada penggunaan kalimat, kata ganti, leksikon, atau metafora. Namun, tampak pada beberapa narasumber yang terlihat lebih mengarah pada kontra rencana presiden ini, terlihat dari beberapa dialog narasumber yang menjelaskan secara rinci bahwa Negara kita sedang dalam masa yang tidak baik-baik saja untuk melakukan rencana sebesar ini. This study aims to determine the structure of discourse and discourse on the Indonesia Lawyers Club TVOne Episode program “Should the Capital be Moved?”. As a result, discourse does not only appear in the use of sentences, pronouns, lexicons, or metaphors. However, it appears that some sources seem to be more towards the counter-plan of the president, it can be seen from a number of resource dialogues explaining in detail that our country is in a bad state to carry out a plan of this magnitude.

Abstract

This proposal aims to provide counseling to the Indonesian Congregational Success Community MSME Association (KSBI) in South Jakarta to improve the brand positioning of their products and services. Brand positioning is a key factor in business success, especially for MSMEs who want to differentiate themselves in a competitive market. In this proposal, the service team will carry out various activities such as literature studies, counseling, training and individual consultations. Through counseling and training, the service team will provide a basic understanding of brand positioning to KSBI members. The material that will be presented includes understanding the concept of brand positioning, identifying the unique value of products and services, brand communication strategies, and the use of social media to strengthen brand positioning. Apart from that, the service team will also provide individual consultations to KSBI members so that they can receive specific input and recommendations regarding the brand positioning of their products and services. This will help MSMEs to adapt strategies that suit the characteristics of the products and services they offer. The activity schedule for this proposal includes preparation, implementation of counseling and training, as well as individual consultations. Evaluation of service activities will be carried out through participant satisfaction surveys and analysis of changes in MSME marketing strategies. The expected results of this service activity are a better understanding of brand positioning, increasing MSME skills in identifying the unique value of products and services, increasing effective marketing activities, as well as positive changes in brand positioning and consumer perceptions of the MSME products and services involved. The service team hopes that this service activity will provide significant benefits for KSBI members in improving the brand positioning of their products and services, as well as helping MSMEs strengthen their position in the market.

Abstract

An emergency condition is one of the threats that requires immediate treatment/assistance by the person who first finds the victim because the golden period for an emergency is a maximum of 10 minutes. Therefore, the community as first responders really needs to have knowledge and skills in providing assistance. The purpose of this mentoring is to increase the knowledge of teachers in Barisallo Village Kel. Parangloe Kab. Gowa. The method used is the lecture method using leaflet media and simulation using an emergency manikin and splints. This activity was carried out for 6 days. The results of the activities include the planning, implementation and evaluation stages. From the results of the service, there are still many people, especially teachers, and there are still many people who do not know how to provide first aid in emergency conditions. So from that basis, community service is about efforts to increase teacher knowledge and skills to prevent death or disability. It is hoped that health workers will be more active in conducting health education, especially in Barisallo Village, Kec. Parangloe.

Abstract

Choking is a condition where the upper airway is blocked by food or other objects which causes breathing problems. The method used in this Community Service Activity (PKM) starts from the initial survey, problem formulation, pre test, activity implementation and post test. The results of the activity showed that there was a significant increase in the level of knowledge of parents in providing first aid for choking events in children. The results of the presentation showed that 63% experienced a good increase in knowledge and 37% experienced a moderate increase. It is hoped that this community service activity will help the community, especially parents who have school-age children who are prone to choking, can provide first aid to prevent disability or death

Abstract

This study aims to identify, describe and demonstrate the phenomenon of drinking coffee in a coffee shop for Gen Z in Tangerang City and to find out, describe and demonstrate the meaning of Gen Z in Tangerang City for the coffee phenomenon. The research method that will be used by researchers is qualitative research. The research was conducted using a qualitative descriptive research type with a phenomenological approach. Research data sources are divided into 2 (two), namely primary data sources and secondary data sources. data collection methods, namely observation, interviews and documentation. The triangulation used is source triangulation, data collection technique triangulation and time triangulation. Data analysis techniques used are Data Reduction (Reduction), Data Presentation (Display), and Drawing Conclusions and Verification (Conclusion). The results of the study show that there are several reasons why Generation Z engages in coffee activities at coffee shops. The reason for the Z generation to do coffee activities in coffee shops is based on the mind that needs peace and as a motive for entertainment for each individual. In relation to oneself, it is understood that drinking coffee is not just enjoying a cup of coffee, but drinking coffee in a coffee shop also provides a comfortable atmosphere for each individual. In connection with the public seeing how the views of other people towards informants and coffee activity in the coffee shop are also seen as things to establish good social relations and the meaning of coffee in a coffee shop is seen as something fun so that it can raise mood and mood, as well as a medium self-actualization as well as a medium in obtaining prestige values.

Abstract

Communications is very important and must be mastered properly by workers working in the field, such as for example population census officers. When working on conducting censuses, census officers were usually trained in job training beforehand. The aim is none other than, so that census workers understand what they have to do in the field, and what has to be conveyed or explained when they are dealing with the public. Because the image or reputation of the Central Bureau of Statistics as the pioneer or executor of the Population Census is tested or at stake there. This study aims to find out how the Persuasive Communication of census officers at the Central Bureau of Statistics of Tangerang Regency in carrying out social and economic registration censuses in Tangerang Regency, especially in Balaraja District. The research method used is a qualitative research method with data collection methods namely Observation, Interview and Documentation. Interviews were conducted with the Kecamatan Sector Coordinator and some of the census officers themselves. The results of this study are the stages of the persuasive communication process in an effort to find out the communication process of census officers in conducting data collection in the field to the community. In addition, objections that become obstacles for census officials are usually objections made by the public based on distrust of the government or fear that the data will be misused by the Central Bureau of Statistics. Therefore, census officers must be able to anticipate or have their own way of overcoming obstacles or resistance by the community during the social and economic registration census data collection process. maximum and the data obtained will also be maximized, of course.

Abstract

This research discusses the marketing strategies adopted by Team Betta Concept in selling ornamental fish, especially betta fish, through the social media platform TikTok. With the development of technology and the popularity of social media, the utilization of platforms like TikTok as a marketing channel has become an attractive trend for businesses in the ornamental fish industry.The research utilizes a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews and content analysis as data collection methods. Through in-depth interviews with members of Team Betta Concept involved in the management and marketing of ornamental fish through TikTok, as well as the analysis of content uploaded on their TikTok accounts, this research identifies and analyzes the marketing strategies implemented by Team Betta Concept.The results of the research show that Team Betta Concept successfully implemented effective marketing strategies in selling ornamental fish through the TikTok platform. These marketing strategies include visually appealing and entertaining content, audience segmentation based on interests and behaviors, and brand positioning highlighting the uniqueness of the betta fish products they offer. In conclusion, this research states that the implementation of Team Betta Concept's marketing strategies in selling ornamental fish through the TikTok social media platform has successfully increased the popularity and attractiveness of their brand. Through an integrated STP (Segmentation, Targeting, and Positioning), Team Betta Concept achieved success in marketing ornamental fish and strengthened their position in the betta fish market. This research provides valuable insights for businesses in the ornamental fish industry and similar industries to understand the marketing potential of TikTok and to adopt more effective marketing strategies in this ever-evolving digital era.

Abstract

Recently, the club from Malang is facing sad news. Several mass media reported an event about Indonesian football over the tragedy of riots in the Liga 1 Indonesia match at Malang's Kanjuruhan Stadium which is the home of the Arema FC club. The riot occurred when the match between Arema FC and Persebaya Surabaya was held on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at 20.00.. When the incident happened, it had shocked the world of football. Some media began to change the headline of the news into a riot event at Malang's Kanjuruhan stadium. One of them is Kompas.id media, where media journalists Kompas.id shape and frame an event that will later become a headline in their media. So this study aims to find out how the writing of media journalists Kompas.id through Syntactic, Script, Thematic and Rhetorical Structures in framing the tragedy of the riot at Malang's Kanjuruhan Stadium which will later be used as a report. The method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative method with framing analysis of Zhong Dang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki models. The results of this study show that journalists Kompas.id in framing the tragedy of the riot at Malang's Kanjuruhan Stadium more prominent information related to the causes and mistakes committed by security forces and the organizing committee in the content of the news text with different discussion themes in each report, so that the news led to this opinion ofthe public who viewed The image of the police and the organizing committee is also bad for the community. It can be seen from the four framing structures observed in this study, namely (Syntax, Script, Thematic, Rhetorical).
