Abstract

This paper begins with an effort to build the quality of education in the Palestinian Ministry of Education's 2017-2022 Strategic Plan for Education. From these efforts, the Palestinian Ministry of Education agreed to the design of the UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goals program, especially regarding quality education. This is seen in the target to be achieved to ensure equal access by 2030 to all levels of education and vocational training for marginalized groups, including people with disabilities. Through qualitative methods, the data collection technique used is library research for primary data obtained from the Strategic Plan for Education 2017-2022 by the Palestinian Ministry of Education and news contained on websites, youtube and journals in the 2017- 2023 range. Secondary data as supporting data is obtained using relevant literature in the form of analysis results or assessment reports from government, private or research institutions. After the review, it was revealed that efforts to build the quality of Palestinian education were prioritized on three main targets: 1) Ensuring access to safe, inclusive and quality education at all levels, especially for people with disabilities; 2) Develop student-centered teaching and learning pedagogy and environment, and; 3) Improve accountability and results-based leadership, governance and management. As an implication of these efforts, there has been an increase in female student participation and completion from primary to tertiary education.

Abstract

Organizational development in education is a systematic approach aimed at improving the effectiveness, efficiency, and adaptability of educational institutions. In this context, the role of educational leaders is crucial in fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation. The implementation of the Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program in higher education is a transformational initiative that provides flexibility in the learning process and aligns education with the needs of industry and society. This study evaluates the implementation of the MBKM program in the Biology Department of Universitas Negeri Padang from the students' perspective. Using the CIPP evaluation model (Context, Input, Process, and Product), this research collected data from 82 students who participated in MBKM activities. The analysis results indicate that teaching assistance activities are the most favored. The MBKM program is rated effective with an average evaluation of 83.20%, signifying that the program successfully enhances students' additional competencies and skills. The evaluation also shows that the MBKM program has improved students' adaptability to technological changes, 21st-century skills, and readiness for the workforce. Overall, the implementation of MBKM at UNP has positively impacted the organizational development of education, strengthening internal capacities, and enhancing the quality of higher education. Institutions need to continue optimizing the management of information and documentation related to the MBKM program to ensure better implementation in the future.

Abstract

The study analyzes considerations and directions in choosing the best learning model and media to help students understand the subject. They can complete it based on the characteristics of students so that students can be directly involved during the implementation of learning. A teacher must be able to apply a teaching method appropriate to his pupil's condition because characteristics are unique properties inherent in a person or an object. Each child has different learning characteristics and abilities, so to make learning enjoyable and engaging, it should be relevant to students' daily lives and supported by interactive multimedia. The research method employed was qualitative-descriptive. Meanwhile, the research data was collected through interviews and questionnaires with the students. Research was carried out at three elementary schools in Padang City with 60 subjects. Based on the study identified characteristics of students, among them, students enjoy playing (96.7%), enjoy working with groups (83.3%), engaged in learning activities using interactive multimedia (81.13%), and experienced direct involvement (80%) in the practice or use of such multimedia that arouses student interest in the learning material. Thus, based on the characteristics of elementary school students, contextual learning models aided by multimedia interactive support were implemented to help the learning process.

Abstract

Along with the development of social thought and dynamics, various leadership theories have emerged, ranging from classical theories that emphasize the characteristics of individual leaders, to contemporary theories that emphasize situations, interpersonal relationships, and emotional approaches. This study aims to comprehensively examine leadership theories and styles in an institutional context, especially in the educational environment. Through a literature study approach, the author analyzes various leadership styles that have been developed, such as autocratic, directive, participative, transformational, and teaching leadership. The results of the study show that leadership effectiveness is largely determined by the suitability between leadership style and situational context. There is no leadership style that is absolutely perfect, because its effectiveness depends on the characteristics of the organization, employee needs, and the accompanying social dynamics. Therefore, effective leaders are those who are able to adjust their leadership approach flexibly and strategically. This study emphasizes the importance of developing adaptive, professional, and moral leadership in order to face the challenges of modern organizations, especially in the world of education.

Abstract

The 21st century presents many challenges. Including the world of education, which requires flexible, skilled, and technology-aware human resources. The government, schools, and society form the pillars of HR to answer these problems. The principal, as the smallest community, is responsible for student development in accordance with modern learning requirements. School-based management is a management method based on student involvement. Thus, supporting resources are very important because each educational institution has control over human resources, finances, and the environment. SD IT Darul Hikmah has the ability to adapt to modern school-based management. Having a strategy to manage the institution so that it becomes a reference elementary school for new students and a religious-based literacy school is part of the institution's resources. How does SD IT Darul Hikmah deal with the challenges of human resource development in this century? By using a literacy approach and interviews conducted directly with the principal and teachers as sources, a qualitative descriptive method is used in this paper. The data collected shows that the resources owned by the principal have the ability to act as a leader in the management of Islamic educational institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effect of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model on students’ motivation and mathematics learning outcomes in the context of Kurikulum Merdeka at the elementary school level. Learning mathematics in a mechanical way, without engaging students in communicating and constructing their understanding, often leads to superficial comprehension. In the current era of advanced technology, student engagement should ideally be enhanced. However, the Covid-19 pandemic negatively impacted students’ motivation to learn. This research is a quasi-experimental study conducted in the first semester of the 2022/2023 academic year involving two classes. The hypothesis was tested using the t-test with a significance level of 5% (? = 0.05). The results showed that the t-value for learning motivation was 2.614 and for learning outcomes was 5.368, both of which exceeded the critical t-table value of 2.04. These findings indicate that the use of the Project Based Learning model has a significant positive effect on both student motivation and mathematics learning outcomes in the implementation of Kurikulum Merdeka. The implications of this study suggest that incorporating PjBL into mathematics instruction can enhance students’ intrinsic motivation and deepen their understanding of mathematical concepts through real-world application. For educators, especially within the Kurikulum Merdeka framework, this model offers a practical and student-centered approach that supports the development of critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Policymakers and curriculum developers are encouraged to support the integration of PjBL through teacher training and resource development to optimize learning outcomes at the elementary level.
